Kal Tire

My battery failed in my car so I called the guys at Kal and they had a replacement. I couldn't get there to pick it up so they put it on An Uber and delivered it to my house.

Thanks top Sean for helping me out in a pinch. Full marks. Would recommend the Kal on 40th St SE anytime.

Purchased a set of winter tires and rims from this location. Everybody I dealt with was efficient, helpful and friendly. I had made a small request that was missed and both people I was dealing with were extremely apologetic and rectified the situation immediately. Highly recommend and will use again for future tire needs.

Did not respect the appointment time. They said wait time is 60-90 minutes, but it took 3 hours. Will not recommend this place.

Dropped off my vehicle at 530pm on a Thursday and by 620pm we had a text saying it was done.too bad they closed at 6pm. Lol

Where to start with this location of Kal Tire? Well the short version is don't hesitate to take your tire, wheel and automotive business here. They are beyond excellent. I have been coming to this location for the past 11 years, and have gone to Kal Tire for almost 30 years across 4 cities. My dad always said "Just go to Kal, they will take care of it".

Recently on a new month old vehicle I picked up a nail in the tire. Common standard stuff. I didn't have an appointment and it was losing air quickly. Shawn (Sean) sorry I don't remember the spelling. Upon seeing I was kind of in a bind as this is our only vehicle and we needed to go out of town the next day, told me he would make sure its fixed as soon as they could. To my surprise as soon as one vehicle lift was free, he HIMSELF zipped out to the car, got it up on the lift, took the tire off and started the repair himself. He didn't hesitate to leave the front desks and get his hands dirty on the job. When the tire was off he also pointed out we had a loose mudflap (which was just recently installed and not at Kal Tire). Probably saved me from losing it on the road trip. Don't hesitate to visit this location of Kal Tire, and in my opinion any location. They will take care of you.

Do not waist your time going there with flat tire, you are just going to get told that we can’t help you. I will never return and waist my time with Kalfailure.

Got quoted $1600 recently for rear brakes, front struts and rear shocks and an alignment. Got a quote at a different garage. Turns out the front struts were fine. Rear brakes and rear shocks with an alignment were all done for just over $800. Can't trust these guys at all. Will not be doing business with them, going forward.

They told me it would be 90 minutes and it was. The place was jumping, perhaps because of the heavy snow conditions. More seating would have been much appreciated.

I booked my vehicle in for a tire patch and oil change. It's safe to say I will not be a returning customer. The first thing I noticed upon picking up my vehicle was my radio on a different station turned up 2/3 to max volume. Second thing I noticed was my oil stained passenger seat, along with the oil filter socket and aftermarket lug nut socket covered in oil, not attempted to be wiped off. Third thing I noticed was some artwork installed on my gear indicator panel and plastics around it with a sharpie. And last but not least a missing valve cover for my tire valve stem. Upon calling to ask if my vehicle was finished, I was shocked with a price $120 more than quoted when I had booked 2 days prior. I asked again to confirm and the price was adjusted to the amount given prior which was much more reasonable for the two services performed. I'll be taking my vehicle to the shop I've never had an issue with moving forward, sometimes it's worth to wait a few extra days vs the convenience of next day service.

Had an amazing experience at this Kal Tire! Got in last minute after a bad experience elsewhere and was able to get a seasonal tire change. The staff was all very friendly and my tire change did not take long. Also the price was very affordable for a tire swap. Will definitely purchase my next set of tires from this location and I’ll be back to this location for future tire swaps!

Limped my car here with a flat tire as it was very close to where I got the flat. I understand it was busy but it was a quick tire repair. Jiffy lube later did it in less than 15 minutes, free of charge. The attendants even refused to put air in my tire or allow me to fill it myself so I could drive somewhere that had time to do the repair. Front desk was dismissive and unhelpful.

Normally don't post reviews but had a great experience with Kaltire East Lake on Friday. Shaun P and his team installed my new Nokian tires fast at my appointment time with a a good price and provided value-added options without any pressure to go-ahead with them. I will definately be coming back to this location. Ben.

I had my 16 year old son stop in here to have a slow leak repaired on his car as I've always had great service at other Kal Tire locations. Normally tire leaks are free of charge or at the very least a minimum charge. Instead they charged him $60 to fix it and told him he needs all new tires on the car ASAP but, they would give him a "special deal" today. They quoted him at $1,000 for tires. The issue is that there is NOTHING WRONG with his current tires and my normal Kal Tire location measured them at 50% tread life left. They also mentioned that replacement tires would be $600 and that was with no "special deal". Sad to see that this location was trying to take advantage of a kid that is a new driver and I will not hesitate to let other people know about this shady experience.

I just want to take a second to say thank you publicly. I have been coming to KalTire for my bi-annual tire swap and storage for two (?) changes now and my mom before that and I’ve never had a bad experience, nor has she that I’m aware of. Unfortunately on this last time a (minor at face value) mistake was made that had nothing to do with the tire install (which was great-very quick!). I try very hard not to be a Karen and complain but I spoke with the manager and an employee separately. The manager and the employee I spoke with were both professional and kind and conveyed empathy. Things happen, it sucks on all sides, but the way it was handled (despite my communication skills definitely reflecting a lack of sleep) was immensely appreciated. For individuals to take accountability honestly and then resolve it with a sense of urgency shows the high professional standards this store operates under compared to others. I’ll continue to happily return and recommend them. Thank you both.

Outstanding customer service. After work, I noticed that one of my tires was flat from a nail. Went in to see if they can accommodate a repair (they were going to close in an hour). Not only did they get the tire repaired and the TPS reprogrammed but they did it for free. Thank you!

Had a new set of tires installed. Noticed right away there was an issue with the balance. Took vehicle in and had the tires rebalanced. The balance is still not correct.

Service was quick, efficient, and knowledgeable. Service counter staff and the tech staff very friendly here. Would definitely return and recommend them.

They did favor, fixed my leaking tire for free. It was just simply reseal, but very nice of them. First impressive experience! Thank you!

Great Customer Service, I try to use this location specifically because of the amazing people here. Super friendly, quick and efficient, and always make me feel really welcome when I come with tire issues.

This has been a great shop in my experience. They have helped above what we asked numerous times without extra charges. They seem very professional I would recommend to friends.

Oct. 14,2020 - I had purchased 4 ea Nokian winter tires. I dropped off the rims to have wheels put on. I picked them up and that is when the realized they put on the wrong set of tires.
I left the wheels with them and picked them up the next day and installed them on my Wife's vehicle. Approximately one week later she found the balancing weights falling off due to improper installation.
Rather than give KalTire a third chance to make a mistake I had our local mechanic remove tires, balance them and reinstall at a cost to me of $70.00.
I have typically gone to Fountain Tire and will do so again, as they give you a personal touch because they have an owner onsite to run things.
It is clear these corporate stores such as this with KalTire are not well run and don't deserve my business.
I would not recommend them to anyone going forward!

I would like to thank them for keeping our lug nut key. When their patch failed one week after the repair, it was nice to discover that we had no way to take our blown out tire off and replace our tire, especially since we were in the middle of nowhere with no cell service.

On a positive side we met some nice people who were having a birthday party in the woods and one of their guests happened to have the same lug nut key. And we got free cake.

Had booked an appointment with them to have a leak in my tire looked at, the gentleman over the phone stated this will be no longer than an hour to have it all fixed up for me. Dropped it off early to make sure they had enough time. About an hour and half into me waiting I went up to the desk and asked for a status on my vehicle. I noticed my car was still parked in the same spot that I had left it at. They said they are busy today and hadn't had a time to look at it. I asked him how much longer and he said no clue. I spent two hours at the location without anyone caring that nothing was being done so I asked for me key back and left.no one seemed to care. Will not be coming back to that location for any service of any kind.

Fast and friendly service! Did a winter tire swap and was done within 2 hours (with appointment). Will come back again in the spring.

With the tire warranty program I only had to pay $35 for a new tire that got punctured. Steve was great to deal with.
I waited in a covid appropriate 4 seat area as there was room until my car was done.

Giving two stars because the person was very friendly, however, I wont take any of my tires to this shop again. I had 4 new tires in 4 new rims to be installed. They were not properly balanced, they did not even put the tire yellow mark where supposed to be on the rim. Went again and they rechecked and say everything was fine, but it was not, still had the same dynamic unbalance. I can not believe a shop dedicated to tires and dont know how to install and balance tires. For big truck maybe is fine but not for email cars where few grams make a difference. Sorry. Bye.

Stephen and everyone here were amazing, highly professional and very personable. Amazing service and went over and above in customer satisfaction. I highly recommend this location and the Kal-tire company as a whole.

These guys worked on one of the commercial vehicles for my company and a tire pressure sensor was destroyed. Shortly after, I took my car in for a seasonal tire change and after paying the highest price I have ever paid for this service, the car immediately vibrated so hard at highway speed and was undriveable, due to two wheel weights being attached incorrectly (they claimed the weights fell off, but visual confirmation showed they were still attached). When they fixed this problem, they didn't apparently bother to torque up the lug nuts correctly (or at all) and two of the four wheels came loose and nearly fell off. I will never use Kal Tire again in my life, and neither should you.

Poor experience sadly. I called since I couldn't book an oil change and winter tire change online.talked about both and booked in. At drop off stood in the rain due to covid safety.finally was able to drop keys but almost no interaction and the same at pick up.no oil change was done (no explanation other than it wasn't on the work order). No option to keep it longer and still get it done.and this was the priciest tire swap we've had. One day later my tire is completely flat.
So it doesn't seem like any care was taken to ensure the tires were in good driving shape. (A step taken in previous years at other locations). Honestly just a poor experience start to finish.

Poor service, very impolite staff. They have poor attitude and is not willing to help the customer.
It is my first experience with Kaltire. I bought a brand-new car on summer 2017, I was told if I buy a new sets of winter tires with rims, I will be given free swapping as well as free balancing till I buy new sets of seasonal tires. They kept their words for the first two years, and this time when I went for balancing my seasonal tires, they charged me for the service. I explained and showed them the receipts as my proof, but they did not listen. Very impolitely answered me especially when I asked the keys to open the car’s door in order to bring the receipts, the staff in front desk refused and he said he will open the door for me (thought, I will escape). I opened up a complain ticket from the headquarter, and they call me back by saying: “we apologize”, “mis-understanding”, “mis-spoken”.
The rule for free swapping and free balancing is only for tires that you buy from Kaltire, I knew that from the beginning, however, since the car was brand new, I was given that special offer for some reasons.
I will go to Costco next time for buying new tires, much cheaper, excellent customer service, good quality, and more importantly, they have records of receipts as proof.

This location continues to impress me. They are reasonably priced and always willing to accommodate my tire needs. Just today I attempted a “do it yourself” tire project and decided I could use the professionals. Popped in and they took care of me right away. It’s great to have businesses like this that can be counted on to go above and beyond.

Poor customer relations. Walked in there to purchase tires and have them installed. Service has a poor attitude and is not willing to help the customer make an informed decision, instead, they push their Nokian brand. As a woman, perhaps they thought it would be easy to up sell me and started getting rude with me after I asked multiple questions about the tires. Walked out of there feeling disappointed.

Management, please train your staff to properly assist customers.

I spent 500 to get two new tires installed and an oil change. The price was fine for me but when I was called and informed that my car was ready for pickup, I get there and I'm then informed that I need an alignment done soon in order to be covered by warranty. I asked why I wasnt informed of this when I was called and they said that I should have. So now I have to take more time off work in the future to drop my car off again, likely resulting in a higher labor fee. Not impressed.

Quite a bit of wait time for having new tires mounted and installed. And that's with a booking as well. Probably have to leave the vehicle for the day if you just walk-in without an appointment.

Excellent service with a great staff. I found myself stranded at 4pm on a road trip through Alberta. They were able to get me back on the road by 6pm and that included bringing in the parts!

Guy at the desk noticed that I had to wait longer in line and comped my tire repair to make up for the delays, very generous. Nice clean shop and you can watch your vehicle from the wait room. Very positive experience.

I have used them for both of my vehicles. The service has been great. I get my tires rotated regularly. Have had issues with tires both sets of tires wearing prematurely (Truck and van) and the group here took care of me. They made sure I was happy as a customer and treated me fairly. I would recommend coming here to anyone.
