I love this place. A favourite stop when I'm in K Country! The staff here are truly exceptional. On a recent trip, we popped in for guidance on trails nearby and a super lovely person (Amy, if I recall?) went above and beyond to give us a really lay of the land. (And we weren't buying anything!) She just did it to help us have a great day. The time before when I stopped this summer, a fellow working there was exactly the same when interacting with guests looking for area info; then, he helped me find a perfect hat for my huge head haha. A few years back, my partner and I did the frozen waterfall fat bike tour out of KO, and it was a ton of fun, too - bikes were solid, guide was fabulous. Kudos to this little place for creating such great experiences for visitors!

We rented kayaks and weather was bit cloudy so we asked the lady what will happen if there is lighting and rain. She said in that case they will not charge for 1 hour. We had only done kayak for 15 minutes and weather started being bad so we came back to the shore and suddenly it was heavy rain.
We brought the kayaks back and lady said just because you didn’t do 1 hour she will give 15%. We were shocked as we only did kayak for 20-25 minutes and 15% off for 35 minutes. We didn’t even do 30 minutes. It’s ridiculous how they treat their customer. She didn’t say anything in beginning when we asked.
Very disappointed
I would have given 0 stars if possible

I’ll start off by saying I am a long time renter. 10+ years I have been renting from Kananaskis outfitters. In July of 2023, myself and my girlfriend rented 2 mountain bikes one day, and a canoe the next both for Full day rentals.

I’m going to start with the canoe: the canoe itself was a very well built product, and fairly light. Appropriate foam was provided, however only 3 small tie downs were provided in the “tie-down kit” which is not suitable for travel into the mountains. The rental process was painless and quick. Where this rental fell short, was the fact that it says “Full day”, and you get 8 hours. A full day rental most other places in the mountains is a full 24 hour period. Would of been amazing to witness a sunset from the lake!

Mountain bike rentals: this is where the rental fell short. I’ll start by saying, I strongly disagree with the use of tubes in rental bike tires. I see this as a total cash grab. It’s 2023 and mountain bike tires should be ran tubeless. Less maintenance cost, and it would spare 20$ to the customer for a flat. Second, if you are going to offer a full suspension mountain bike, you need to set up the suspension properly for each customer. Improper suspension adjustments for me resulted in a very poor ride. Hard to climb, bucked forward on jumps, and bottom out due to lack of maintenance and proper adjustment. This is a safety issue as well. Lastly, at the price point being asked, a premium experience should be given. Further into the trip, we rented bikes at a shop in Banff, had all of the above issues corrected, and had a full 24 hours with the bikes for approx 10$ less per bike.

All in all, if you’re in the area and really want a rental fast, it’s a good option. But if you are a serious outdoors person wanting a premium rental service, I’d seek elsewhere.

Would not recommend anyone to get service from there. We booked our mountain bike rentals from them and after we dropped our bikes they checked it and said that all the bikes are good. But, after more than one hour, we got a call from them saying that one of the bikes is damaged and talked very rudely with us and charged us $150. This is a very unprofessional behaviour. So just be careful if you get your rentals from there.

Very unprofessional service and rude behaviour. When we returned the bike they said everything is good and we are good to go and then they called us after 1 hour and asked to pay for the damage which never happened. If something was wrong with the bike they should have informed us at the time when we returned them back. They charged us a $100 for the damage that we never did.

Really unprofessional service, we went to the cycle ride and returned it. They checked it and said everything is good but then they call us and charge 100$ extra for the damage. The manager is so rude and disrespectful.

Very unprofessional service and rude behaviour. They charged us for the damage which never happened from our side. They didn’t even hear our explanation. When we returned the bike they said everything is good and we are good to go and then they called us after 1.5 hours and asked to pay for the damage which never happened. If something was wrong with the bike they should have informed us at the time when we returned them back.

What a great experience! We went for our first Cross-Country Ski experience and Dana (Our Instructor) was simply amazing! A lot patience and very friendly! And the scenery was out of this world! Can't wait to visit again!

We rented fatbikes as a drop-in for myself and kids. The bikes were in excellent shape, service was great, and the trails nearby were challenging and fun for a first try. The one-hour rental was enough time to wear out a 12 year old. Fatbiking is a lot of work!
