Fantastic atmosphere at the Salon. Madison really knows how to cut hair with a curl in it so that it holds it's shape until my next cut.

I’ve been having my hair cut and styled here since 2020 and it’s always fantastic. My stylist helps me choose appropriate hairstyles that I love and match my willingness to spend time doing my hair. She also helps me choose appropriate products, that are always top notch. I love my stylist so much I’ve started bringing my daughter. My daughter and I both have wavy/curl to our hair, and mine is short and hers is long for reference.

I’m thrilled I discovered this wonderful salon. I just love the feeling of space when you walk in. The warehouse finish creates the space but excellent contemporary decor also creates small intimate spaces for connecting.

The front desk personnel are some of the friendliest I have encountered. Their welcome and orientation left a very positive impression. I also had a fantastic experience with my stylist, a genuine and sincere woman who loves her craft. And my haircut did not disappoint… a beautiful bob with the perfect angle. This was a personal pamper. Highly recommended.

I have been coming to see Ella for a few years now after struggling to find someone for my hair. First of all the salon is always clean and the staff are helpful. Ella always finds a way to do what I want with my hair even though I don’t have the words to describe it to her. She knows what she’s doing and always makes me feel fabulous when I leave. Probably the best salon experience I’ve ever had. After I mis-read my text and went to the Brentwood instead of the Mahogany location they were still able to get me an appointment the same day just an hour later and Janelle C had an opening and was able to give me my hair cut.she knew exactly what I wanted and how to frame my face better.super sociable and was easy to talk to. I’ll definitely be booking in again with her again for my next haircut or when I want to change it up!

Great business! I made an appointment at the last minute (and was able to get in on short notice) after getting a terrible haircut somewhere else. Jenelle cut my hair and did an amazing job. I've been going here to see Ella for a long time! Always been happy with my experience and the quality of my haircuts.

At every visit, I am greeted warmly by the front desk staff and am offered either a coffee or water. My stylist, Jenelle C is very skilled at cutting my natural curly hair, which I sometimes like to straighten or at times leave it natural. I have been very pleased with my cuts and colours over the past year and look forward to each visit as I know I will be happy with the results when I leave. I would highly recommend this salon.

Absolutely incredible service from the moment you walk in the door. My daughter has very very curly hair.texture that can sometimes be hard to comb through. It was dry and poofy and hard to grow so we put off getting it done since most hair dressers mess it up because they have no idea what there doing. Long story short. We saw Chelsea who also had beautiful curly hair but no where close to how nappy my daughters is. She started with a deep condition that sat in her hair for a while then she blow dried it straight which was much easier to cut, she shapes it, gave her the bangs she’s always wanted! By the end up it my daughter was in tears because she loved it so much, it was healthy again! Soft, shiny, like a new set of hair on her head!
Chelsea was so easy to talk to and does this out of passion not for a paycheck. I would recommend her to any one with curly hair or straight.

I cannot say enough about how amazing my experience was here! Alisha (I hope I’m spelling her name right) is the sweetest most loveable person… and she did an AMAZING job cutting my hair! I have always had a fear of going to the hairdresser because my vision tends to be ignored due to the stylist believing their vision is better for my hair type. I would normally leave the salon with about 4 inches less hair than I wanted and I’d immediately put it in a ponytail for the next 6 months until it grew out…. But today I left and immediately took some pictures with a GIANT smile on my face and sent them to my husband!

The salon is SPOTLESS and trendy, the beautiful girl at the front is so pleasant and courteous, and everyone there seems to love what they do and who they work with! I’ve never had a go-to salon or hairdresser… but I think I’ve found “the one”! Can’t wait to see Alisha again!

I had the pleasure of having Carrington cut and style my hair. She did an absolutely amazing job. I got home and my family was in shock as the cut looked so incredible. I would have say it was the best haircut and style I have had in 20 years. The staff is very attentive, and so pleasurable to deal with. The salon is so calm, clean and almost spa like. Will be returning for all my future cuts and colors. Forgot to mention the offer coffee and water as well. And the scalp massage so nice. Don't hesitate book today.

Two years ago, I had my hair fairly damaged by a hair salon in my hometown. Haven't had my hair done in two years because the thought was so anxiety inducing. After tons of research, my mom and I decided to drive 800 kms to Calgary to see Jordan at Karma. I left the salon feeling happy about my hair, and feeling good about my hair for probably the first time ever. The whole experience was amazing — he was kind, knowledgeable, left me with tips and tricks to deal with my kind of hair. Heard what I was trying to do with my hair and was able to help me figure out exactly what I needed and what would look best on me. He walked me through every step of what he was doing, asked questions along the way to make sure I was still feeling okay about what we were doing with my hair. First time I have ever left a salon and cried happy tears. My hair looks absolutely beautiful, the lowlights are gorgeous, and feels better than it has in as long as I can remember. So happy with my choice to come all the way down south for this, and I will definitely be back.

The front desk lady with copper hair was super nice! 10/10 but the stylists are very Katty and rude! If you're going to get your hair done I'd reccomend get it by their apprentice! She's very nice and talkative and super friendly! She made me feel welcomed, while the other ladys made me feel like they didn't want me there. DO BETTER KARMA!

Karma salon saved my hair! I was in desperate need of a colour correction and cut. Karma salon brought my bleached, fried hair back to life. They went above and beyond to fix another salons mess (I did not as for bleach at the other salon- see the grid photo) and I could not be more impressed or appreciative of Karma Salon.

After some strengthening and conditioning treatments a beautiful brunette color was applied and stunning cut was created by Ella, as seen in the photo.

My hair feels a thousand times better, the cut is phenomenal and the colour is rich. The fact that David and his team worked so hard to fix another salons mistake speaks volumes. These are the experts you want in your corner.

Warm and inviting atmosphere, the staff is always helpful and quick to educate me on how to fix my god awful dry scalp. Hard to find a good place that actually has people that can do Men's cuts that cater to a different textures. Bonus, deadly area to walk my dog after.

Stylist was great, really understood my hair and my style and what I needed in terms of a great low maintenance hair style.

Literally the worse place to go for a hair cut and colour. I went in thinking my hair colour would be a ashy blonde for the summer and it turned out to be worse then before I went in. Not only did I get nothing I wanted for over 300 dollars, they made my hair orange! They mentioned that they provide consults, however they lied to me about achieving what I wanted and totally went back on their word. When I called just to ask them to fix it because my hair is orange, they pretty much told me that their salon was not capable of performing a popular and simple task of colouring dark hair with foils. They said that there salon can’t even have me as a future client ever again, very unprofessional. I highly recommend you do not go to this place becuase I’ve wasted so much money and hours of my time. It is so unprofessional of a salon to refuse service and it shows the true meaning of how they treat their customers. Thanks a lot Karma, and I hope you learn from this experience and be more professional about the capability of your services you actually can’t provide. I hope this experience will not happen to anyone else!

A lesson to you karma, word of mouth is EXTREMELY powerful so are these reviews. I’ve seen businesses that have gone under because of bad reviews. They’re hundreds of salons in Calgary folks, don’t bother to drop a penny to this place. Absolutely horrible. I SHOULD’VE READ and listened to the 1-2 reviews, all of the NEGATIVE REVIEWS have multiple LIKES on the… I wonder why? Look at the photo that I posted. ;) (6-10 likes for each negative review, verses 1 like from the from the owner for the positive reviews). Verses the 5 star reviews. I would take the positive reviews with a grain of salt. I wouldn’t be surprised if the owner wrote all of the positive reviews himself to make this place look better. Horrible customer service. If you want to support local, don’t support a business who is rude and unprofessional. The manager is ALWAYS on the defence as you can see on the negative reviews, like cool thanks for stating that you’re “fully committed”, action speaks louder than words. Salon owner, you want growth and loyalty Karma? Grow up and shut your mouth when you’re in the wrong. Nothing karmic about this place, period (that’s what another reviewer said- that statement says everything about this place. EMPHASIS ON-Customer service is garbage. I can promise you that you will find stylist who are MUCH MUCH better overall, as in for customer service, professionalism, and skill/quality for a cheaper price. When I was reading that review that this women who was dirty blond who wants to go ashier and lighter. Girl I have BLACK hair and with OLAPLEX or bbb, for me it would take about 2-3 sessions, cause my hair is black black. But for a dirty blond, girl, you CAN achieve that in one session with minimal damage (of course with the right stylist). I will list some businesses in Calgary that can do this: Euphoria, gloss salon, Stella choi hair, urban hair design, etc, just to name a few. 4.1 starts is pretty low rating for a supposedly high end salon.

EVERYTHING IS GARBAGE ABOUT THIS PLACE, TO THE OWNER “DAVID” TO THE CUSTOMER SERVICE! Enough said.

Cara is amazing! Best balayage I’ve ever had! She listened to everything I wanted, stayed within the budget I requested, corrected the things I’d had done previously and gave an excellent cut/style. I will continue to go back to Cara and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great stylist!

The lady was nice but I walked out having paid $200 for conditioning, a trim, roots, and toner that made my hair more brassy than when I walked in. It's honestly orange. Guess that's the service you get when you're a walk-in.

PS. Rose gold is not peach tone. Look it up on the internet. Just proves how little this salon cares.

The best salon in the city by far. Jordan is incredibly talented and I honestly don't know what I would do without him. I have short hair and the positive feedback on the cut is continuous! I can't go a day without at least 3-5 (yes 5) people complimenting Jordan's wonderful work! The owner and all other staff are welcoming, sincere and professional.
The reviews about pricing are ridiculous. It's a high end salon and it's worth every single penny! LOVE YOU KARMA!

Really not worth your money. I went in to have a cut and color done. I called them after 10 days to see if they can fix the color as I wasn’t happy with it. No can do. The policy states 10 days for redos. (1) It would be nice to know that at the time of the appointment. (2) It took me longer than 10 day to finally come to the conclusion that I don’t like it. It was a big change for me and I wasn’t sure what I thought about it right away. Sucks to be me. I’m $350 short and stuck with hair I don’t like. Thanks Karma. Your policy and practices are not fair to your customers and your unwillingness to correct your service I spend $350 on is the reason I will not be coming back! Not recommended.

Went to this Salon because I needed a last minute cut with the first person available. I gave my hair dresser little instruction and no photos, which can be risky. I couldn’t be more impressed with my cut, colour and service.

I had a haircut yesterday with Keisha. She really knows my hair type and gave great advice! Gave me a haircut just as I wanted! Great place!

This place is not worth checking out, I went to get my hair lightened and walked out with my hair looking the exact same! But somehow it cost over $300. When talking with the manager, I explained how I was unhappy with the service as I just spent so much money with no change at all (maybe 1 or 2 visible highlights). Before I left I booked another appointment because the hair stylist told me it would take numerous appointments to get my hair to the colour a wanted (I am dirty blond - more on the blond side - and wanted to go blonder). The manager said I could come in and they would do top highlights on them due to the fact that they didn't "set my expectations properly" (I got my hair originally done on March 15th and my next appointment was April 3rd). They then called to confirm my appointment and when discussing the prices I was informed that they no longer were going to do the highlights (That they told me they would do for free) and I would have to pay another $400. They said because I didn't come in the 2 week period, even though the manager never said anything about a 2 week period and told me I could get it done during the appointment I had already booked. This place is a complete joke, I've never had problems getting my hair to the colour I want in one appointment. Since I'm on the younger side (17), I believe they saw this as an opportunity to scam me. Extremely disappointed, as I had high hopes for this salon. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY I PROMISE YOU CAN GO SOMEWHERE CHEAPER AND GET MUCH BETTER RESULTS.absolutely ridiculous

I wish I could give this place a 5 stars due to the lovely hair stylist Kennedy that I got for a colour. Kennedy was super sweet and was able to accommodate me despite the fact of me being so utterly late due to not being able to find parking. I took a star off due to parking issues, finishing parking was more difficult than finding parking in downtown. The over all experience was good, the only issue that I had was her not going over the prices with me during our consultation. I took another 2 stars off due to the lack of customer service at the front end. What really turned my experience upside down was the check out and post check out experience. I have gone to many salons, but I have never met such a rude and unprofessional front desk staff member. When I came up to ask a question about my bill, she seemed unimpressed, there’s a little thing called body language and tone, which she was Indicting that she either didn’t like me, or she hated her job. Her tone, how she spoke with myself made me feel degraded, it honestly left a bad taste in my mouth after leaving the salon. Going to the salon is supposed to be a treat, I guess I was unfortunately there at the wrong time. I left happy with my locks freshly coloured, but as I returned to fix my bill as it was calculated incorrectly, I was acquainted with Katie. When a customer asks a simple question, don’t argue back, you are in the customer service industry, perhaps hire individuals like your other front desk personal who understand what customer service is and who genuinely a nice person. When they were refunding my money back, her answer was, “well, I take a seat, last time I called it took 20 minutes” with attitude that just crossed the line. I apologize for making you do your JOB. That sole experience really downgraded Karma, I felt so uncomfortable from my encounter her that I will likely not return. Another note about unprofessionalism, my boyfriend called in to ask how much it was per ounce of extra colour, Katie attempted to put him on hold but failed to, in the background you can hear her say “he has a hot voice”- come one, like what? Going to the salon should be a well rounded experience, not just a great experience, that was something that I did not receive.

To whom is the owner of karma salon, rethink who you hire. You guys are in the customer service Industry, hire people who are passionate. It seems like based on other reviews, some other members of your front staff don’t seem too friendly. Pro tip, if you want customers to return, please give additional training to your front staff, this isn't a doctors office where you’ll occasionally encounter a rude receptionist, you're getting your hair done.it's a luxury.

Additionally, like others have mentioned word of mouth is extremely powerful. With the day and age, reviews are also very powerful, the internet is at the tips of your fingers, a simple review can turn a customer away in a snap.

I came back for my second appointment, they apparently left emails in regards to what I will be staying below.

Karma can’t handle constructive criticism, as per see my review above, they actually told me that karma would not be a good fit and told me that I should go elsewhere. I am disgusted at this business practice as I wanted to give a update on their services. I literally drove all the way over here, then I was kicked out. I will adamantly not recommending karma to any individual. Folks, I would stay steer away. Will be posting this cautionary experience on my Instagram as well. Also, when teaching my business course, I will make sure to bring up this experience to tell student this is not how you handle a bad experience.

PS: did I not mention that I was late? Out of respect, I called in twice because of the parking disaster and told you guys that I WOULD RESCHEDULE, but you guys insisted that I came. Uh duh? If that was an issue, perhaps tell me, “yes, please reschedule”. Come on, David.

Hi ladies.just a heads up I went to go in for a haircut and there were some issues with it.

I called back as soon as I could to let them know, and let me tell you they become RUDE when you want to get it fixed.if your stylist is off, you have to wait until the stylist comes back. PERIOD.

Meaning if you even wanted to pay them to fix a few layers.they won’t take you in.

So.overall. They are all nice at the beginning and want NOTHING to do with you when you want a few adjustments (bangs, layers).

Also. Stacey the receptionist treats you like a number. Not a person.

I visited Karma salon yesterday to get highlights (balayage) done. I had previously inquired with a stylist the price and was told $150-180 which I was ok with. After my session was completed I was shocked to hear my total was $225! And that did NOT include a haircut. When I got my receipt I saw I was charged $170 for the highlights (ok) and $45 for a “shampoo style”. I am shocked and extremely disappointed. Of course you have to shampoo my hair to get the colour out! How is this an extra charge? ! And it’s -28 in Calgary, in what world would hair not be blow dried? ! I have literally never been charged to have my hair washed or dried after a colour service, and I have previously gone to high end and expensive salons. The customer service and environment at Karma was very good but I simply cannot return, nor recommend this salon to anyone when they have such an outrageous charge for a shampoo and blow dry, which should absolutely be part of a service when you are paying $170 for highlights. I am also extremely disappointed that I was never made aware or quoted this blow dry charge before booking as I would certainly have gone elsewhere. If this is their policy when your service doesn’t include a haircut then again, I shoukd have been told at the appt when the stylist and I discussed that my cut was still good and didn’t require a cut. I am extremely frustrated and disappointed by this and will not be coming back.
