As a supporting, paying customer, you would think the front desk woman would be happy instead of a miserable cow towards the customers. Me having to share space with such negativity, and have the chance of ruining my day, I’d rather just pay full price for stuff instead of having to be around someone SO miserable. If you don’t like your job, leave! You’re making customers miserable, you’re making employees miserable! No one wants to deal with miserable people!

In general the experience is good. If I had one piece of advice, it would be to consider an alternative way other than stickers for collectible toys. Those stickers damage the box’s reducing value of item.

After dealing with Kastner Auctions for many years, even before their current large location, I can no longer recommend them.

For example, we recently bid on several items, and when we went to pick them up and pay, an extra item that we had not bid on had been placed on our purchase list.

We explained that it was not one of our purchases, but there was no interest in listening or trying to resolve the error.

We tried to ask if it might have been mis-attributed from another bidder, but all we got back was 'splaining 'The Rules' when it wasn't even something we had bid for.

As the business has grown, so has the attitude, and it's no longer safe to bid there. You don't know what they might come up with.

So I no longer have the trust to do business with them anymore.

No longer recommended, proceed with caution.

Slimy and shady, bid and won a 2021 holiday trailer this weekend, drove 4 hours to pick it up and was told the seller didn't accept bid after I have already won the auction at $18200 he wanted $40000, I asked why didn't they put a reserve bid instead of unreserved, I was told its the way It is. I won't be back

Guys, please do not buy thier Amazon mystery boxes. I bought one and I found it open and retapped. I believe that they took valuable items and stuffed it with chips, drinks, and other garbage.

I recently bought a Amazon Mystery box from Kastner and It had been opened and gone through. A large part of the items where replaced with items like crushed bags of potato chips, old dog treats, hinges, old make up, etc. I do understand that the buyer should beware. However if you are going to sell an open box, you should state that it has been open.

Would like to have participated in an auction from Kastner however I was unable to find a way to preview any auctions without first having my credit card charged. Also found website navigation less than ideal.

My go-to Edmonton auction house. Lately, their shipping service has been lagging. Hopefully they can catch up soon.

So far, I’ve had a very good experience with kastner auctions. They are very organized and commission is fair compared to other auctions I’ve been to. Easy to buy and pickup is also easy.

I drove 2 hours out of town to pick my stuff up and because I forgot I needed an appointment, they did not release it to me. I have been a loyal customer with you guys for years and that's the treatment I get. He was very disrespectful as well. And all my stuff is still there! Not good business practice at all. Will be contacting upper management about this issue

We have been dealing with Kastner's Auctions for many years. Steve has always done his very best to accommodate our consignment requests. He works tirelessly and is very organized. Taylor is precise and very helpful when dealing with consignors, always making it easy for you on a one to one basis. Ernest is also a fabulous guy. Always there to calm you with his sense of humor. You never feel rushed.

Sometimes you get a deal but buyer beware. The photos are very good because when I pick some stuff up it is much dirtier than what you see. They have a very broad definition of “vintage” and “antique”, so you have to have prior knowledge. Also, I brought an item home today and it is broken. This is the third item in a year that has been broken by staff because the damage isn’t in the photos. The other ones I caught before I took them home but now I’m stuck with this.

Kastner Auctions has been a good experience for my selling/buying needs. We have had great success in selling our items, as we have been consignors, for years. In addition, I have purchased many items. Preview any item you wish to purchase, so you really understand what you are bidding on, remember that there are auction fees, on top and prices can be unpredictable. Our thanks goes to Mikayla, the consignment desk guru, Lara, who is a gem in solving problems that come up, and does so in a hurry and finally, Ernest and Steve who have used their patience to guide us through a few hiccups.

They charged me $18.84 for shipping a tiny little coin I bought for $15.42 (including buyer's premium).

I truely see a growing niche here - people are downsizing and looking for faster easier ways to make some money and sell their items.
Pawn shops target a small demographic, kijiji and online classifeds are risky.
Here they have online viewing and bidding so a large demographic.
The auction wants to get you the most for item as it's a % based agreeement.

As a regular auction buyer, would highly recommend not buying any electronic or motorized items from this auction, as they don’t (can’t) inspect anything for operation, there are minimal photos to review and you have no recourse. They also seem to have sellers that bid up their own items (shill bidding). It’s a last-stop, mainly junk auction for bankruptcy and estate sales, so there are some occasional deals to be had, particularly if you don’t mind things a bit beat up or doing some minor repairs. However the risk of buying severely damaged or inoperable items is high, and if you’re a buyer that can’t inspect directly and is relying on the internet and their description it’s super risky. Items I’ve personally bought and were not functioning included a generator that was described in good working order (nope - completely inoperable). I no longer purchase anything motorized and am hesitant about anything electrical here at all, but for other very low-value items it’s good, and staff especially in the back are helpful. Best to spend very little and stay in the ‘if I have to throw it out no big deal anyway’ mindset. Watch the starting bid amounts, often they’re higher than the value of the item and you’ll just see it rolled over to successive auctions. Used furniture is pennies on the dollar here (as it should be) so good place for that.

First off this was an Estate sale as my Aunt Patricia passed away! My Dad (his sister) were very emotional, tired and stressed packing up her home. I called Kastner auctions, they were lovely to deal with, even the 2 guys that packed their truck (Dad and I helped them load).
The Sale was booked for Friday, 2 days after pick up, which we thought wow fast.
Wait 2.5wks for the check in the mail as we don't live in Edmonton, and it is Truly A LOT smaller than we ever thought!
A 4,000$ Hutch and China cabinet sold for $60 a $3000 brand new Recliner chair with all the buttons (massage/heat/recline) went for #375, the Dble leather Duo Reclining sofa went for $120 SERIOUSLY, the living room tables magically you were $30 off from actual price!
This money was supposed to go into my aunt's account for estate dispersal for the grandchildren!
This was very very heartbreaking to read!

Bid on a trailer online and it said it would be closed by 10am. I was the highest bidder and at 10: 05 it was still not closed and someone bid higher. I did bid again and by 12: 00 it still wasn’t closed. I put that I would like to be notified if outbid then at 1: 00 I checked again and I was outbid and it was closed. The item was sold after bidding for two days and I never received any notification that I was outbid. It was a hundred dollars more and I would have bid more if that was the case. I’m mad because it was originally suppose to be closed at 10am and was not then not being notified when outbid. I don’t know what kind of scam was happening but I don’t think I’ll ever deal with the auction again.
