Great place for all ages! The deep water classes are my favourite! The staff is extremely helpful and professional. This centre also has dry land exercise classes and a weight room.
If you are looking for group fitness classes I highly recommend this centre. Madeleine is an amazing fitness instructor I have ever had. She is very knowledgeable and knows how to keep people motivated.
I highly recommend her classes for anyone looking to get a great workout routine!
It’s been 2 years that I have been going to the drop in classes regularly.
Great city pool. Pools is basic, great for lane swimming no bells and whistles. It can be chilly in the change rooms as it is all open and creates a breeze throughout.
The amenities are okay for what you pay. My biggest concern is how drafty the women's change room gets during the winter and how infrequently it seems to be cleaned. The floor is always wet and hairy. Definitely bring pool sandals. The gym is small and during peak hours you have to wait for equipment a lot. Overall it's decent, cleanliness can definitely improve though.
Instruction isn't really the word to use about City swimming lessons. Instructors tell kids what to do but there is no one on one work to correct them when they need help figuring out what they are being asked to do. I actually saw an instructor role their eyes after a kid made an attempt to do what they were asked but said nothing to the kid. If your kid can meet the requirements before they start, good. If not, they probably won't when it's over either. I'm looking for somewhere else.
Overall nice place; I had been here for swimming and hence all my review are related to that; I have not explored other facilities by them.
So for swimming - 1. Pay and swim - prices are in one my picture which has all rates 2. Then comes locker - You need to lock your belongings either with 50 cent locker (you make sure of carrying coin) or the lock for lock with your own lock and key 3. They bath with soap before and after swim 4. Life jackets; swim board; Etc all are free inside for pool 5. Mainly about pools they have ; there are three A. Main swimming pool (normal or cold water when I visited) B. Hot water ; smaller in size ; but good to start with C. Dive pool 6. I went in public swim time so it has 1hr30min time to swim 7. There are lot of lifeguard around to watch for safety
Booking is still required and usually booked a week in advance. Lane swim organization makes no sense is counter productive to social distancing. This only creates traffic jams making it impossible to swim more than 50m without running into someone.
I worked out here between 2013 and 2015, but ended up going elsewhere. In all honesty, the hours were terrible, and very limited equipment. It's more of a small fitness room than actual gym. I would say if you're a beginner to weight lifting and first starting out, it would be sufficient. The hours are very limited, especially on weekends. It's not a bad facility by any means and serves it purpose.
Great place for learning swimming for kids. Very professional instructors. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Clean facility Hope it has more family change rooms.
This place is super clean and you can always see the staff cleaning up in the shower and changing room. The staff is polite and helpful. They seemed well educated!
Good little pool. Customers and staff were nice. The Covid safety precautions are annoying but thats expected and seen everywhere no surprises. Book your lane times.
The lady at the reception is very grumpy. I've come across her path a few times and she's very abrupt and not someone I'd consider a customer service orientated person. Last I met with her was Sunday afternoon. I'm happy that my gym will be available in September as she is not someone I like to deal with
Receptionist lady was so rude! She should get trained again! She doesn't know how to speak with a customer. Not only to me, but she was rude to everyone. She said "okay stop talking, listen to me now" to a senior gentleman in front of me. Is this acceptable?
Great facility. Clean and with friendly staff. Great to have the pool open again. Only downsize was that current all self-locking lockers were closed and only pay lockers were available in the women's change room.
The one at the Calgary Center that has a good gym. The gym is home to the latest gadgets.a place of few men Employees are also kind. There is a code when you enter the gym. The code can be found at the entrance counter. Swimming pools are also a little bit wider than normal.
Pool is great. The water sometimes isva touch cold but overall at an acceptable level. The showers is a different matter: if it is busy, good luck getting warm water. There shower and shower room should have a much more comfortable temperature.
They let me take a shower when I was passing through town and a dip in the hot tub. I paid but there was no hesitation or even an off look and I was ripe from the roads.
Nice pool and gym area! This place is a free for all though. I come for the lane swim occasionally and it’s always so frustrating because weak/inexperienced swimmers feel as though they’re able to use the fast lane. Proper lane swimming etiquette is never enforced by the lifeguards and I always leave frustrated. If you want to get through your workout with minimal interruptions go to one of the universities or Repsol.
My wife and kid attended parents and tot classes here, one of the best aquatic facilities. Jory was the instructor for our class. The best swimming teacher for toddlers. My wife doesn't know swimming but Jory made her very confident in class. Very interactive and friendly teacher. Made every classes informative and enjoyable. My kid started to love swimming because of Jory's classes. Jory is very experienced and highly knowledgable in swimming. His concern and care for each kid was amazing. A life guard and a passionate swim lover. Hoping for more classes with Jory. 5 star for Jory and 4 star for Killarney.
Pool and staff are always top notch. Weight room and fitness equipment are in good condition. TVs overhead for cardio. Drop-in Programs and room space are exactly what you need.
Nothing special regarding the facility itself, but we're happy to have it around none the less. Trying to get my son into swimming lessons at Westside is damn near impossible, so this place works!
You can't beat this place for value that's for sure. Pool, steam room, hot tub, gym, all for under 10 bucks. The gym has enough equipment for you to get your workout in but is upstairs so no super heavy lifting really. Ample free parking anytime. Great place to get your workout in.
Took our kids here for swimming lessons. The instructors were excellent, much better than at other pools we have been at. The family change rooms don't accommodate that many families but otherwise nice facilities.
Not bad, but the customer service and the planning is pretty confusing and ridiculous, such as the free swim. There are barely any free swim times in the week, they are only available in the weekend. And if there is a free swim time in the week it will be very late (9-10pm)
Very great pool. I would recommend this place to everyone and I was impressed with the service and quality. It is a little hot inside and they need to regulate the temperatures a lot more and the seating is okay for the events.
Great public facilities. Pool, exercise, classes. Very impressed with how well this facility is maintained. Ample parking, good for family or adult only depending on your choice. The city has definitely provided a wonder place for the community.
Super clean, water seems warmer than other pools, friendly staff, great for kids, great music! Need more towel hooks in the change rooms. Need someway to prevent patrons from walking upstairs in their (wet) outdoor shoes and boots.
If your looking for a local gym Don't waste your money or your time here, staff is very rude, place closes every opportunity they can, when you buy a gym membership they leave out info. I was sold a gym membership at the beginning of December and was not told anything about holiday hours and wound up loosing about 9 days of a 76$ one month membership, when I saw the signs they posted a week or so after I got my membership I was only able to speak to a lifeguard about it who didn't seem to care about the down time I wasn't told about. 22$ they refused to compensate me for or refund to me, was simply told to go somewhere else. When I signed up I was also warned about locker room thrives that apparently liked to steal car keys from unlocked lockers. Horrible place to take your kids, unsafe and just trash. Stay away from here.
