I had the bbq pork charbroiled salad rolls once and 3 years later I’m still buying them at least 3 times a week and just can’t get enough of them. Best Vietnamese food in the city. Super fresh and always yummy

I'm unfortunately disappointed with my first time ordering here. The deep-fried ginger beef was mediocre at best. The sauce was so strangely.goopy is the only word I can think of that fits. The consistency was genuinely off-putting. The portion size for $10 was also a let-down. The vietnamese subs tasted fairly good, however we found hair in BOTH subs that were ordered. I won't be ordering here again

I love Kim Anh, they are fast and the food is always fresh and hot:) I order the vermicelli dish and it is delicious

Very tasty Banh Mi from Kim Anh. On this order, we tried the Special KA sub, chicken satay, and beef satay.

Each sandwich was made well. The bread was toasted with a crispy skin but also fluffy and soft on the inside. The vegetables were crunchy and fresh. The meat was tender and well seasoned/marinated. The satay sandwiches did not have as much satay flavor (more so sweet and a little bit creamy) as I would have liked but I still enjoyed it. I also would have preferred a bit more pate for the special KA sub. The ratio of the meat and fixins to bread was very good.

These sandwiches are a noticeably thinner and maybe a bit shorter, and at a higher price, than some of the other places I have gone to so the value did not feel as worth it. Otherwise, overall a good experience and I would recommend giving Kim Anh a try.

Hands down best chicken sub in Calgary. Been going here for years, been a bunch if other places, nothing compares. Try their spring rolls too. Bomb

I’ve had their tempura shrimp so many times it’s the BEST! Their chicken sauté subs are amazing too incredible prices and fresh yummy veggies

Best viet subs in the city! The bbq pork (#5) is my personal favourite. But it's all good.

The sound of blaring horns cascades down 17th Ave, as the cogs of the metropolis turn. As you scurry into the shop you are greeted with a warm welcome and radiant glow from the rush of sub prep. Moments later pressing aside the paper wrapping on my own take away, the medley of flavour hits my tongue with a swell of joy.

Best food you can get! We initially tried them because they had a great BOGO deal on skip the dishes and their subs were impeccable but recently tried other items on their menu and all their food is. And always SO FAST. We have never had such short wait times on skip. Usually less than 10 minutes. Highly recommend

Sandwich itself seem fresh and crispy. Wasn’t too much satay beef sauce and portion wasn’t very generous. Sauce taste fine. Service was quick. Price seem to have gone up substantially. Purposely drove by to check out this restaurant.

Probably come here 2-3x per week. Always get the beef sub with the Taro bubble tea with Lychee jelly. The staff are fun to joke with and the food is always perfect

Ok what. Tried the beef satay sub for the first time and was not expecting much. It was soooooooo good, I ended up ordering another one! Way better than thai Thais. Mmmmm, excited to try lemongrass next time!

I ordered through Skip the dishes and my spring rolls were black. Called the restaurant to address the situation and get an honest feedback and the person on the phone didn’t even care she literally hang up. Never ordering from this place again

I was stumbling around drunk on 17th ave at 3 am looking for some grub. Just randomly, one of their employees popped out of nowhere and asked me if I wanted a free chicken sub. Hell yeaaah! The sub was so good too. I will forever be a customer. Thanks guys! Your foot long sub hit the spot

Some of these reviews make me laugh because they are complaining about ginger beef or cold cut subs…. This is a Vietnamese sub place. Order a Vietnamese sub and you won’t be disappointed.

I got the delivery of a banh mi by Skip the dishes and it was so so good. The lemongrass flavour in the meat was very nice and the bread was still a little crunchy (via delivery is excusable). The ratio of meat to veggie is good. The milk tea i ordered along with this tasted great too.

I tried out Kim Anh 2 weeks ago, and the sub that my friends and I got was so unreal that I have ordered again 4-5 times in the last 2 weeks. So happy I tried this place out and I will keep coming back almost weekly. Peanuts on a Viet Sub is a game changer. Don't miss out and try this place out. <3

Ordered 2 sides of ginger beef and orange chicken and we were very disappointed to say the least. Maybe the subs are better.

Absolute staple on 17th for a darn good reason. Their Viet sub was one of the first I've ever had and it's my recommendation to this day after countless other vendors. Everyone I've told about Kim Ahn's thanks me for sharing, food this good should always be known.

This place is my go-to spot for lunch. Their Vietnamese subs are the best, especially the Special KA Sub (charbroiled pork and pate), the BBQ pork and the Chili Chicken. Also love the tofu one for a vegetarian option. Great family owned, local business.

Ordered the ginger beef late at night since we were craving, and it was the only place open that provided it. Regretted every bit of it. The worst flavour, and even worse texture. Had to throw it away. Such a waste of money, and honestly that was our bad for trying anything but the banh mi at a banh mi place. When we have the time we'll try the subs and hopefully it's a redemption to the worst ginger beef we've ever had. Honestly though, the fish sauce that came with it seemed flavourful, so hopefully that's a hint that maybe the other foods are better.

I ordered a mango drink with pearls and a beef Satay sub. The best sub I have had. Perfect. The only thing is, I wished I had bought 2-3 more and keep it for later as I live in airdrie. So tasty and so good. Love the dude who took my order and asked if peanut was an allergy. Great people and great food. Will definitely be back if I am in Calgary downtown.

I am a picky eater, have eaten a thousand viet subs. I always thought Thi Thi was the gold standard. This is quite possibly the best thing I’ve ever eaten. Do not listen to all the cheapass folks who only like buffets.

The BBQ pork and pate sub was unbelievable.

Delicious as always. The bread they use is my favorite in the city. Cripsp on the outside but soft on inside - doesn't compete at all with the filling.

While this place is good, make sure you specify with both the number AND the name of the meal you are ordering. There is a language barrier here sometimes, and I have sometimes not received what I'd ordered.

Ordered late last night and my god, best pork sub we've had from here! Kudos to the late night staff, you have my heart! Can't wait until we order again!

Having been to a ton of viet sub places in the city, this place is really hard to beat. The meat they put into these subs is so packed with flavour and spice, and the veggies are always super fresh!

Best subs- I get the lemongrass chilli chicken, my partner gets the beef sate. Crispy bun, flavourful meat, crunchy veggies. Fast service.

Ordered several different Bahn Mi's and some are definitely better than others. Would recommend the lemongrass pork or chicken over the beef here. Overall the food was good and price was reasonable.

I had the Meat Balls BBQ (Pork) and Spring Rolls as it is the newest traditional vietnamese food on their menu. I was craving for some BBQ pork so I ordered this with extra meat balls. It was amazing!

Very small serving of banh mi. Very disappointed. It's not worth it for the size ig the sub. Just go to Thai Thai right across the street. You'll thank me later!

Veg spring rolls are totally covered in oil. Taste like oil when you bite them. So much oily oh man. I'm from Vancouver and spring rolls are never that oily. I think 1 PC is like 600cals because I couldn't eat my sub after 2 rolls!

The Vietnamese subs here are relatively good. The meats tend to be salty and dry however. The veggies and baguette generally taste quite fresh. The selection is very large, and the price is a little high but that's mainly due to its location.

Orders the Ginger beef. Was the most disgusting ginger beef I ever had and they would never return my money back and or order a new side menu dish for exchange. I will never come back here again!

I had their sate chicken sub today and I was very disappointed! It wasn't spicy at all, the sauce tasted weird and the chunks of peanuts in the sub were too large for my liking. I would rather Trung Nguyen in Chinatown. The veggies were fresh but they went overboard on the cilantro too.

I ordered through skip the dishes. The bubble tea was like no other.and I mean it! I can taste the difference of the real fruit. I got the BBQ pork and beef sub, nd it was delicious tasty it had a nice texture i'd probably make the cucumber pieces smaller tho. I was very disappointed however.in the salad rolls. It was all salad no roll, you need to bind them better before delivery because all opened. Regardless I'm impressed by the menu options and hope to more in the near future.

First timer and was not disappointed. Went for a standard beef sub to have a comparison to other places I've tried.
It was a true contender with a nice balance of sweet, sour, & heat. The veggies were fresh and added a nice crunch. The bun was perfectly toasted and soft in the middle.

This is the first place I had ever eaten a viet-sub at. I have been to other places since which are also delicious, but at Kim Anh they really pack your sub with veg and meat - great bang for your buck and the people here are SO kind and sweet. Best Vietnamese subs in Calgary by far and the only place I've found who put jalapenos in it which I die for - I honestly put jalapenos in everything. Just found them on doordash and am SOSOSOOOO excited to have their subs for dinner tonight!:) Ohhh also I cannot find such a variety of subs anywhere else in this city - Lemongrass Chili Chicken Sub!? Oh heck ya! These people get it.

I've eaten the chicken lemongrass, beef lemongrass, chicken sate, cold cut and Korean BBQ pork sub. The best one is beef lemongrass and second runner up would be the chicken lemongrass. For cold cut, Thi Thi (next to Harry Hays) and Trung Nguyen do it better. The subs are consistent too. Good portions for the price, even when ordering via Skip or Door Dash.

Doordash - had mango bubble tea and sub. Finally a place that uses real fruit, you can see and taste the difference.

Ordered 2 subs that were delicious, however, I made the BIG mistake of ordering Ginger Beef and Sweet and Sour Chicken from a vietnamese restaurant: (. They were both way over deep fried, hard, and the taste and sauce were disgusting. Needless to say we threw them out. Like their name says - it is a SUB place so I would stick with the subs:)

Its literally the best Vietnamese sub you will ever have and is under $9. I have one at least once a week, the bread is soft, toppings are crisp and fresh and the owners are amazing and really nice people. The fact that anyone goes to thai thai across the street is actually hilarious

Massive stomach ache. Pretty much in the fetal position. Lemongrass chicken and spring rolls. So bad I ate less then half of both and now my stomach is in absolute knots.

Good banh mi, but smaller size and slightly higher price than Thai Tai across the street. Lemongrass beef was good, but too saucy which covered up the other ingredients. Toasted bread can wreak havoc on roof of your mouth. Very friendly family (?) staff, def a return visit

I've been a lover of Kim Anh for a long time. The quality is still great but the size of the subs has become very small. Noticeably smaller than other Vietnamese subs. I just ordered one pick it up and had wow that's small, reaction.

If theithe big subjsub shrinkhshrink is because of covid then that's totally fine and I fine with paying the normal price for a tiny sub but if this is a permanent change its quite disappointing. I'm a small eater and normally can't finish a Vietnamese sub but I'm still hungry: (

3 of us tried the bbq pork sub, we all loved the fresh bun, flavorful pork and vegetables. Definitely be trying more items from a cool little family shop!

Best banh mi's in Calgary. The vegetables are fresh (the pickled carrots are my favourite). The baguettes manage to be pillowy soft and perfectly crunchy at the same. The Tofu Delight sub is especially good! Service is always friendly and warm. Don't bother going anywhere else for a Vietnamese sub. It doesn't get any better than Kim Anh!

A very small place for vietnamese subs. Taste of vegetarian sub and chicken satay was great. Quick service like fast food. Tofu not so good.
Service is a little impatient and brusque.
A few chairs by the window. Kitchen is visible fully. Peanuts around so nut allergy caution.

Bubble teas were great however;
purchased shrimp salad rolls, they were old and didn’t even have full prawns inside, had no taste and the lettuce was soaking wet and soggy.

Had the beef satay sub and I became addicted. You will enjoy the submarines here, trust me. They are divine.

10/10 would do again and will, the great folks running the shop already know I'm coming back ;)

Great service. No parking. Had to park at the shell across the street. Got the tofu Sub and chicken sub for sister. Didn't really love my tofu sub, the pickled vegetables carried it, the tofu was bland and unseasoned.however my sister loved the lemongrass chicken. Would definitely go back, maybe ill try the vegetarian sub next time

A bit of a hole in the wall, but the vegetarian sub I had was really tasty - probably the best I have had in Calgary. Will go back to try more dishes. Has a bit of a family run atmosphere.
