What a great little ice cream shop. I tried a lemon custard and it was delicious. Unfortunately its a seasonal flavour. I will definitely visit again

Overall, I have been very impressed with Kind’s vegan (non-dairy) options with their Jammy Raspberry being a HUGE fan favorite. However, the other day I decided to branch out and try their vegan and gluten free Salted Almond Fudge … and now I fear I might have a contender for my most favorite now. The staff have always been so friendly and kind (no pun intended) and I’ll definitely be back!

The vegan options are so good and the staff is so kind! Lovely area to get a come and wander around in! Sugar and gf cones are vegan, and the staff are knowledgeable about ingredients and food allergies ect

Went on a hot day and it was delicious but Ice cream soup. Also the staff here is consistently unfriendly. Great ice cream though

Best local ice cream in Edmonton. Highly recommended. Love the maple boubon.salty caramel is solid too.

Tried the vegan strawberry and salted almond. Both were rich and creamy. Very flavourful. I appreciate the allergen information provided, I wish all restaurants would do this. Staff were efficient and friendly. Generous amount of ice cream for the price - a great deal. Will definitely be back for more.

The background flavor is not that bad, but it has so much sugar that I feel I am eating spoons full of sugar. It is so sweet that the sugar numbs my tongue, and I can't taste anything else! Please use 1/3 of the sugar.

The Haskap ice cream was amazing but don’t get any flavour with chocolate expecting it to taste like chocolate. Not sure why but the chocolate milk was milk and the mint chip was mint (guess it doesn’t say the chips are chocolate, they definitely don’t taste like chocolate).

One of the best spots in town for ice cream! Make sure to check out what they have on rotation and get a pint to go as well. Lineups on hot days and weekends, but it's well worth the wait. There is nice spots to sit outside and enjoy your treat.

Best little ice cream store in a "hole in the wall". Worth every step taken to get there!

Kind Ice Cream’s vegan offerings are not it. I tried the Mud Pie and Lemon & Jammy Raspberry and both flavors were disappointing. They were grainy in texture and not very creamy. The Mud Pie was crumbly and icy and the Lemon & Jammy Raspberry was airy and started to melt even before I scooped it out of the pint. It had a consistency like it had too many stabilizers in it.

Both had a strong coconut flavor and had an off-flavor that I can’t quite describe. Their vegan ice cream base and formulations need a lot of work. I can’t speak to their regular ice cream because I didn’t try those.

I threw away both almost full pints because I couldn’t finish them and didn’t want to deal with the hassle of trying to return them. Unfortunately they don’t offer tasting samples otherwise I wouldn’t have wasted my money.

In my opinion, for local ice cream Made by Marcus has far better vegan options.

We tried Kind ice cream three times different locations and unfortunately have never been happy with the quality of the ice cream. Plus, for some reason we have always been rushed to order ice cream wich is a totally different experience than similar places. I do recommend better ice cream places in Edmonton if you're looking for a delicious and yummy ice cream experience.

I went for the first time this weekend and the inside was very inviting and the waffle cones were being prepared, which smelt amazing. The ice cream was really flavourful and rich.

I had a great time at this ice cream place! I like the rich flavor of their ice cream and it was so mouthwatering. Every scoop was definitely worth it and I guarantee that you will enjoy their ice cream. My favorite is vanilla bean! It was so creamy and tasty. I feel like a child again enjoying her sweet treats.

My kid was just told by the dr to go dairy and egg free. She was heart broken so I found Kind sold vegan ice-cream and the reviews said it was really good. We were not disappointed. It was absolutely delicious. She loved it! Thank you for putting a smile on her face and a skip to her step.

Lovely ice cream shop with great flavours. The homemade waffle cones are a must, and some of the rotating flavours are amazing! I personally find their icecream to be better than made by marcus and would absolutely recommend giving Kind a try!

So far the best icecream that I've had in Edmonton. Incredible flavors, including vegan options (like Lemon and Raspberry) that I love enough to buy pints of even though I'm not vegan. This place is definitely worth trying.

LOVE THEM! Always go there, great portion great taste great place great staff. Was very worth the wait in line. I especially enjoyed this summer the scattered seats in the area, was very nice and quiet, i truly enjoyed it like i do every time i go. Try the mud pie its delic.

Ice cream by the scoop is good and tasted fresh. However, I bought a couple pints of ice cream from here a couple months ago and they're extremely icy/freezer burnt. Dissapointing since they're about $10 a pint. This place is also very out of the way for me so i didn't bother going back. A complete waste of money.

There is actual birthday cake in the birthday cake ice cream.this place smells like heaven and the ice cream tastes even better.there can be long lines but if you have the time then it's totally worth the wait.

Great local spot with some tasty flavors. The line gets long, so come prepared and hope for the best, either way the finish line is worth it. Just a few folks slanging that sweet cream and the people come for it, so you know it's good. They keep it moving pretty well so the reward comes quickly.

The river valley road is a great take on the classic rocky road and the kiddo made comment about enjoying her double cone more than a few times. With many flavors (some do sell out, come early) to choose from, you could spend whole summers coming back and playing flavor combo games with your tongue.

Get yourself any of their flavours, I especially appreciate their vegan options (right now they have 3 or 4 of them!) I'd so appreciate having consistently as many Vegan options as dairy ones? Normally they have 2 which is great but like, It kind of feels unfair and I'd buy more If there were always more than 2 flavours (Lemon and Jammy Raspberry is the bomb but it gets boring when it's the usual thing every week lol).

Great price for pints as well at 10$, I always come here over any other place. Plus if you are a brightside customer (virtual bank backed by ATB) you get extra cash back on Sundays! (Sundae Sundays anyone? XP)

It's okay kinda of an expensive ice cream place and the ice cream was just ice cream to me nothing too special even though everyone says it's the best

I waited 15 minutes outside for ice cream in sub zero temperature. Yes it was worth it, no I do not regret it, yes I'd do it again. That's how good they are.

Always very friendly staff and awesome new feature flavors every month! 6 stars if they add Dunkaroo to the permanent menu!

Got this place saved on my to go list somehow, so this was the first time into the place. Tried river valley road, real deal strawberry, dark chocolate and the lemon and jammy raspberry. To make it extra special got them on waffle cones. Generally all choices tasted great and felt a bit of cotton candy flavor in the background.
This experience stands out having had ice cream to go at 2 degrees outside with streets covered with snow!

I really want to be able to say this is my favourite ice cream in the city but there is something just off about it. Maybe it’s the ice cream to topping ratio but I cannot finish my serving ever.

We’ve been over 6 times, trying different flavours because like I said we want to love this place so much! I’ve been given the wrong flavour before too and because of Covid not known it until out of the store.

They have a lot of great sounding flavours but I just don’t think you get the best bang for your buck.

If you are here and don’t know what to order the strawberry is your best bet by far!

Was just at this location and the staff seemed to be rude.they gave me a very small scoop and a stale waffle cone. Thanks, I won’t be back.

4 adults licking their cones on the street corner and 4 adults very happy with the flavours we selected. If it wasn’t covid, we might share a lick or two, but we can’t, so we stuck to our own cones and deeply enjoyed the experience. Cool neighborhood too!

Mint chip is to die for. I love all of the flavours but mint ice is the best! A must try for sure.

Unfortunately the ice cream was really bland. Not sure if we went on a bad day, since this has many positive reviews. Staff was really nice.

I am an ice cream fanatic do I can be picky about my ice cream. That being said, Kind Ice Cream have great staff, but their ice cream is greater! The Vanilla Bean and Hokey Pokey flavors are my go to! I am curious to try their limited time and seasonal flavors too! I took one star off because I personally did not like the cookies and sour cream flavor. However, these guys make some awesome flavors and I keep going back for more. Hot days deserve ice cream, so why not be KIND and give these guys a try!:)

I really like Kind Ice cream and frequent it quite often. I'm generally a huge fan of supporting local businesses and like the idea of the varied flavours of small batch ice cream. I also like the fact that they offer gluten free cones. The staff are always courteous and the flavours are delightful. Maple bourbon pecan is my favourite and I usually combine it with one of their seasonal flavours. I dropped one star because I find some days their ice cream is too soft and almost melting away. But on other days this has not been an issue. I would also like to see more rotating flavours or changing up the permanent menu even so that regulars have something to look forward to!

Super spot in a newly revived Ritchie area with some incredible shops. Kind is typically lined up around the block so one must assume it is good. And it is. First off, once you arrive inside this humble location, the customer service is extremely friendly and positive. The ice cream flavors are amazing and the waffle cone was fresh.often times ice cream shop waffle cones are stale and crumble to the touch.not here. I loved everything about this experience.

Best ice cream place in the city! Everything is so fresh and tastes great. I always like to buy the pints whenever I am in the area. Service is really friendly too. I can definitely see why this place can sometimes have a line up. But it is worth the wait.

Not bad! I tried the mint chip & dunkaroo flavour! I found that the feature flavour was far creamier & enjoyable whereas the base of the mint chip ice cream tasted watered down & not as rich.:/ Still the flavour was good & I'd go back if I was wanting a change up in ice cream! The line was very long so prepare yourself if you go after 6 pm!

Delicious ice cream and waffle cones! They have constant staple flavours and usually 3 rotating flavours that change every month. You can buy pints of the active flavours as well. There is often a long line in the summer but worth the wait!

Delicious! Well worth the wait. My friends and I tried Birthday cake, Vanilla Bean, Raspberry cheesecake, and Mud pie (Vegan). We all thought the flavours deserved 5/5. Each of us had double scoops as well, and the serving size was excellent!

Very cute little ice cream place. It was a fun Friday night experience. There was a line to get in and an even bigger line behind us when we left. They had a cool system with a red and green light to tell customers when to come in and when to not. I did really appreciate this covid system. It kept the store empty and made it easier to choose our flavour of ice cream.
Over all a good experience with no complaints.

Their masking policy beyond provincial guidance is ridiculous and the ice cream is pricy for a mediocre product at best. You would be better off going to the grocery story and buying a pint of Haagen daz.

Kind Ice Cream has an amazing variety of flavours and options for Vegan and nut free as well! They love to show their support for on going issues and they are a welcoming bunch. They are always on the busier side so set a little extra time aside to wait in line. By far worth the long lines though!

If you're reading this, you obviously haven't been here yet. Do it. You won't be disappointed. Crazy amazing flavours, caring people, and real ingredients. You won't find better ice cream in the city (country).

I meant to include a photo of my generously proportioned waffle cone of maple pecan ice cream but.it was soooo good I gobbled it up.
I heard of Kind from neighbourhood friends and was told I must go.
Not disappointed, will return again & again.

Disappointed that the “ system”only takes tap! None of my cards have tap, and i will not be getting it! This fact is poorly displayed and needs to be posted on the door and not when its to late and you have already ordered! The staff was apologetic and i recognize the effort, how ever if you display that you except cards then your system should be capable.

Awesome staff and awesome ice cream. We were extra annoying and tried a bunch of samples and everyone was super nice and ready to let us try some more. Ended up loving the salted caramel, earl grey, and maple walnut bourbon. Waffle cones are made fresh literally in front of you and the ice cream is just devine. Overall an amazing ice cream parlour you gotta try in Edmonton.

They have it all, almost. The flavors was underwhelming. I had plain Vanilla Bean. The flavor was straight forward but not better than grocery store bought ice cream. The waffle cone was very good. Others in my group had cookie dough, 5/5. Salted Caramel 4/5 and lemon rasp (vegan) on the seet side. 5/5 flavor.

I tried the London fog/earl grey. The texture was different and had bits of fat? Underwhelming flavour, overpriced. My friend had the bourbon pecan, flavourless. Unfortunately not worth the drive to this overpriced Ritchie area. Good service and have heard rave reviews from others. And they are asking for donations to make it through the winter? What kind of business plan is that?

We went here for the first time on an overcast Thursday evening. There was no lineup, so I was definitely pumped to try some ice cream. Staff were friendly, helpful, and gave us samples (I tried the cold brew, lemon raspberry, toasted coconut charcoal, and cookies and sour cream flavours) before I settled on the Maple Bourbon Pecan. It was delicious, a bit boozy, and had the perfect amount of sweetness.

The other ice cream flavours I tried were not overly sweet and this allowed the flavours to shine through. I'm not a cone person, so I ate my ice cream out of a cup, but did try the remnants of my partner's cone and it made me understand why people like them!

Of course purchasing from a local business is more expensive than buying from a franchise or chain, but it's worth it when you consider they're using quality ingredients and helping the local economy.

I felt the ice cream lacked the right punch of flavour and was a little more on the icy side and not as creamy as I would have liked. The ice cream line while diverse didn't have a distinct "only Kind" flavour that was unique to their shop [i.e. When there is a creative twist of flavours you wouldn't expect and it works or something that isn't typically icecream (e.g. Villages's Carnival corn or Marcus's stampede breakfast) ]

This little corner in Ritchie just keeps getting better. As someone who loves to support independent businesses, I'm happy to add KIND to my list. Loved the salted caramel ice cream. Also loved the cold brew. Hope to make it through all the flavours at some point! And it's a definite boon to have vegan options for my many vegan friends. KIND is a great destination.

BEST! I’m so happy Edmonton has a local hard ice cream shop. The staff was super friendly, the space is adorable and the ice cream was spot on! I will 100% be returning on a weekly (maybe daily) basis!

I loved that they had vegan options, and three very different choices! The portion sizes were excellent too, and I liked that they offered sugar cones free of charge, rather than the normal styrofoam-texture ones you get at most places. That being said, I found that both vegan flavours I tried (cookie dough and lemon jammy) didn't have much flavour. The texture was great, but definitely lacking in taste unfortunately.

I went with friends so I got to try quite a few different flavours. I loved lemon and raspberry jammy and camping! Also tried cookies and sour cream and cookie dough also delish.

Usually waffle cones are not worth it but here they are for sure. For once they smell as good as they taste.

The earl grey was delicious, but I found the bourbon maple pecan a touch too sweet. I also had ice cream dripping from the bottom of my cone within minutes of receiving it. I'm not sure if that's something that can be fixed with a tighter roll on the cone or supplying a napkin of some sort wrapped around the bottom. The portion size could be a little more generous. Their scoops seem more like kid sizes. Overall, the flavour and texture of ice cream are great. Would love to see some more creative flavours in the future.

Worth the wait! We had the cookies and sour cream and the ninth chip and took a strawberry pint to go home with. Overall it was really great, the flavours of the ice cream are lovely and you can tell it’s quality ingredients in them. Only star missing is the waffle cones were too thin and we both found they weren’t sweet enough to hold up the to ice cream but hope this could be worked on and will definitely be back!

Went in on opening day & ordered a maple bourbon pecan cone. It was delicious - very flavourful (you could taste the bourbon) and creamy. I love the location and am so glad this place is finally open as I've been looking forward to it since supporting the crowdfunding campaign.
One little suggestion - please ask the otherwise lovely woman behind the til to stop pointing out the tip option on the Square POS machine. When someone is there on opening day (and battled opening day lines), they want to support you. Being basically told to tip (which I would have anyway) was a bit of a weird buzzkill, and a friend of mine had the same experience. Otherwise an awesome place and will definitely be back multiple times this summer.:)

Great ice cream! Tried the real deal strawberry. You can really taste the quality in the ingredients they use. The texture was silky smooth. Pro tip: buy a pre-packed pint in the freezer. Skip the huge line, pick a pint in the freezer and pay right away. Bonus: we got about 4 scoops out of the pint, a total bargain!
