Best store for tools hands down. I've never walked out of here empty handed. The flyer has good deals. And then there are even better deals in store!

Great store with very knowledgeable staff. Their stock is fantastic and quality. Sometimes their till staff can have some attitude but what is kinda expected with us blue-collar folks.

A staff member wearing a name tag “jay” at kms has expressed himself as having a personal issue with me for no reason on multiple occasions. Today he refused to give me any advice on a high quality degreaser I was intending to purchase as well as a cart of stuff to get my new industrial planer operating. Including standard greases / oils/ lubricants as well as the power plug that the machine does not come with. He said since I did not buy the machine at kms he cannot tell me anything. He then stated he could tell me what to use for their machine. I asked him to please explain. He kept trying to walk away and repeated that he would not help me if I did not buy it there. All I wanted was some information on grease that I was intending to buy right then and there. Sadly it ended with him refusing to give me service on a product that his job is to provide me with the adequate information/ recommendations. I really would like if Vince could contact me as for service like that is unacceptable. I have been shopping at kms for nearly a decade and spent almost $20,000.00 there. Sometimes I cannot buy everything from the same store. Sometimes things are out of stock. They carry different stock. The time it takes to drive to a store can make a difference. Or perhaps you cannot afford it from one store. We all shop at different stores, Jay included. I’m sure his grocer doesn’t tell him to go to the other grocery store he went to that one day that one time. I am certain he is showing me some personal issue I really need some support he has been doing this to me for nearly 4 years. Matt used to give me the best service before jay took over his department. If anyone knows how to contact kms corporate office please let me know as I am searching. I am sorry to anyone else whom jay may be harassing/abusing/offending.

A huge selection of electric and hand tools. There are always discounts, a good atmosphere. I always buy goods here.

Was quite pleased with the service I received today. Went in to buy a Milwaukee track saw, but asked for some advice anyways. Grant pointed me towards the Makita as a more budget friendly alternative. He ended up saving me a bunch of money and the saw he pointed me to works amazing. I will definitely be returning.

THIS REVIEW IS WRITTEN BY GEORGE GLOVER. We came to pick some items and when we walked in the door the cashiers told my wife she could not bring in her purse; she could leave it at the cashiers desk. I do not know any woman that would leave her purse unattended especially with a stranger. I said to never mind we would go else where. When we were leaving the store I told the cashier that she just lost a regular customer. Here response was a shrug of the shoulders. I will not shop at this store again and by the sound of many other reviews a lot of people share the poor customer service and I don't care attitude. Very pooor service for a business.

Very few knowledgeable staff as they experience high turnover and now hire only basic skills i.e. Problem-solving/analytical abilities are NOT a requirement

UPDATE: bough a large King Canada tool from them and it's beyond warranty period so am prepared to buy parts. King Canada says KMS can help me.and KMS tells me to go to King Canada and just keeps repeating 'if its more than 1 yr old, it's not our problem'. Even for $ you wont help your customers? !?

Online & Backorders are constantly messed up; staff call and say 'your order is ready for pickup' but then you go there and pieces of it have still not arrived or they simply can't find them. Or.you do pick them up and then they repeatedly call you to pick it up.several hours after you already did!

Online sales support is a joke; all they give are 'quick' answers, regardless if they are accurate or useful. Had an open support ticket and found out that they DIDNT PUT ANY DETAILS in it from what had been discussed.when I called back to follow up, they claimed that they were 'waiting for information from ME. ' and that was their excuse for doing nothing.

To compound the issue, went in to the store to try to resolve a tool/fitting issue and was given excuse after excuse.the only 'solution' provided was 'just return it'. Telling your customers to effectively 'GO AWAY' is a poor business model.

Product, yes. Service, No.

Was told online orders get shipped right away from other stores if there are none in stock in current store.

First off my item said it was in Calgary store, 2 in stock. They told me inventory error, so they had to get in from Edmonton, then Edmonton had an inventory error too. It’s been over 2 weeks and I’ve heard nothing on my order.

Went to store, no help, or solutions. Never seen so much difficulty for an online order before.

I think the customer service at the calgary location is one of the worst i have ever come across… extremely rude and jumpy and kind of useless.guess ill strictly be making online orders now if needed … lame

Always a great place to get tools. Super friendly staff. Often cheaper than many other stores. When I need more tools, I will be back. It's almost dangerous for my wallet because they have everything I could ever want!

Management is out of touch…. I have shopped at KMS for a long time and have spent thousands if not tens of thousands here. As a business owner and woodworker I’ve tried to support other local businesses. I will no longer support this store, I’ll order online if I even give KMS any more of my money.

1) I have an account, I come in to buy a Milwaukee track saw and want to use a Gift card for $200 out of $575 of the tool. It was a Visa gift card, that is legal tender and is accepted as a Visa anywhere. If they are stolen they are worthless. I was told by the mask wearing coloured hair cashier that they won’t accept it for the chance that it’s stolen and that I am a thief. Imagine calling someone who’s got countless receipts on file a thief. A manager came over and said the same thing “we have no way of verifying what’s on the card” and then pointed to a small policy they have on the counter that is ripped and you can hardly read.so I walked out, I wasn’t going to pay for it “just buy on your visa”. As I walked out an older man behind me put his stuff down and did the same.

I went to home-depot and repeated the process, the cashier there said “why would we not take a Visa gift card” I swiped the machine and wow omg amazing $200 came off the total…

The other comments about this place are all true, incredibly unorganized, dirty, horrible staff ** outside of some of the older men walking around.

The main thing that I find hilarious are the Sale prices. This track saw was on special for 548.00 and advertised as such. The normal, standard, non sale price at Home Depot was 548.00. Mark the price up and then lower it as a “sale” is hilarious. I can tell management went to business school, not.

One of the best tools, hardware and car parts stores in the City, outstanding Customer service, staff are very friendly and they always ask if help needed to find what your looking for. Price are usually the lowest in town, its my first place to go when I look for a tool.

(I would not recommend to shop online) online store I believe its different management and its waste of time to buy anything.

I would highly recommend to shop in the store the manager (steph) she's super nice and she helped me out dealing with online order that sent to GP by mistake.

I wish there is another location in the north part of the city.

While some staff members are very helpful and knowledgeable, I have had some pretty polarizing experiences at KMS. Most recently, I bought a new welding setup and was accidentally given the wrong gas as the cashier had made a mistake on the invoice.

Unfortunately, this put me behind schedule for work as the correct gas was then out of stock for about a week. KMS owned up to the mistake, but when I returned the bottle, they made no effort to make things right and charged me full price for a refill of the correct gas and all the associated fees - this was quite disappointing given the trips back into the city I had to make to correct a mistake that was 100% on their end.

If you like tools.this is the place!
Great business to support. Staff are way more knowledgeable than your typical despot store, and the tools selection is enough to make a grown man salivate.

Downside to this place is the potential to annihilate your agreed allowance and prepare the divorce papers with the wife once she finds out what you bought at KMS. I found this worth it regardless and continue to be a repeat KMS shopper!

Not that impressed.

I had stopped in to return a product I had purchased and was not able as their system was down, this is not why I'm writing this review though.

My issue is that I had purchased a welder from KMS and I believe the sales rep that ran me through was Alex. It was almost like it was an inconvenience for him to ring in a machine that is just shy of $4,000.00 without accessories. This is not to mention that I have spent roughly $10,000.00 at this store in the last 30 days. I think this might be enough for me to bring my business elsewhere.
