Awesome shop run by people who clearly have a passion for great knives. They were super helpful and informative, and they just have an all-encompassing fun & positive vibe. I myself walked in just to check out the cool store and walked out with an amazing santoku.

I took a knife sharpening course and would highly recommend the experience. It was a small group (4 students) that lent itself well to attentive instruction. I left confident that I learned the skills to keep my knives sharp. Can't really beat this deal - $100 for 2hrs of instruction; $50 gift certificate and 10% off.

I was lucky enough to find Knifewear. The team & staff were excellent & informative. I will definitely be back, and currently enjoying my purchases.

Everytime I go is dangerous for my wallet. There's always such helpful and knowledgeable staff. The prices are good for knife sharpening. No complaints here!

If you’re looking to maintain your knives at home, take your money here. I took their knife sharpening class and not only was it great value, it was very fun, hands on, and practical. Our instructor Adam has equal measures of knowledge and fun anecdotes, he made the class interesting and extremely informative. I left feeling confident that I could grow this skill. In addition, when you take the class you get discounts on their products which really helps you get set up with what you need. Highly recommend this place!

Went in looking for a knife for a gift with a certain budget. The lady who helped me (wish I caught her name) was super friendly, patient and helpful. She laid out multiple choices and explained the differences and wasn’t pushy towards one or another. Will definitely go back and refer people to this store!

If you are into Japanese blacksmiths and the product they create - you know it ain’t cheap. This is where you want to spend your money because if something goes wrong they will take care of you - even if you just think something is wrong. ;)

If you don’t know anything about Japanese blades and the different between stainless steel and carbon steel, or the different styles of blades, go hang out here for a bit, then buy yourself a Good Santoku to start your collection.

A wonderful experience for chefs of all abilities. I'm just an amateur, but always love visiting for top-end items, knife sharpening and the excellent staff.

Mary was incredibly helpful in helping me find a chef's knife that can last a long time in between sharpening, and a bread knife. She was able to answer all of my questions and did not make me feel rushed whatsoever. She made it clear how Knifewear stands behind their products and offers a free first sharpening, and that is super cool! I will absolutely reccomend this place to anyone looking for high-end knifewear and kitchen supplies.

Bought a knife from them as a gift. The knife is beautiful and SHARP. It is by no means inexpensive but completely worth it for the quality of craftsmanship. The staff at Knifewear was also great. They knew were knowledgeable and didn’t want to pressure me into anything, just help me find what I was looking for. Would recommend theirs knives and the store!

I purchased a knife from their Calgary store approximately 10 years ago. I don’t cook a lot and I bought the knife as an impulse buy when I was there with my sister (who is a professional chocolatier). I’ve used the knife occasionally over the years and finally I realized, after 10 years, that I really needed to get it sharpened. (When I say I don’t cook a lot. I really mean I don’t cook a lot!). I went the Edmonton store, where I advised them that this was the first time I was having it sharpened. I recalled that when I purchased the knife in Calgary, I was advised that the first sharpening is free. To my surprise, 10 years later and in a different city, they were happy to honour that agreement. I was impressed with their integrity. I was also impressed with their helpfulness and the information they gave me, when looking at purchasing another knife (which I did).

I treated myself and brought in my old twin cermax (micro carbide) and misono dragon (swedish steel) in for a professional sharpening.
Chris did a great job and only took around 20 minutes. Instead of investing in some better whetstones I'll just do this once in a while. Well worth it.

Didn't know this store existed until two weeks ago, I've been there twice since then. I'm a novice home cook, but am intrigued with the right tools. Bought my first knife today. Great experience, great store!

The guys at knifewear were super helpful and knowledgeable. Helped me find what I needed and actually told me to come back in February (first interaction was in November) because of the seasonal sale on the knives I was looking to purchase. Very friendly and down to earth. Would highly recommend these guys if you're looking to start/expand your collection.

Excellent experience, the staff on today were extremely helpful, got me setup with a knife that I love, and they have got something for every price range. This is THE place to go in Edmonton if you are looking for a quality knife (and they have a bunch of other cool stuff as well).

My knives are like new! I brought in my Miyabi knives for sharpening, right before Christmas, with a tight deadline, and they accommodated my needs so I'd have sharp knives before a big party even though they were very busy already. It was my first time having our knives sharpened at Knifeware and they made a world of difference. Super friendly, very knowledgeable staff who do a fantastic job!

No store like it in Edmonton. You can buy knives, which we did, that are going to last as a sharp kitchen knife that will last 200 years. Adam will help you with there classes on how to use the knives properly as he is actually a top chef! The other items in the store bring the incredible Japanese culture into your home to boot!
