Korean Grill 2 (wing Chicx)

This restaurant should have ALL of the buzz on the south side.it's so good. The chicken is fried to perfection and the bulgogi is packed with flavor. I'd say it's better Korean fried chicken than sfc but that might make people mad, so let's just say you should try it next time you're in Summerside

No service at all. We went for a Friday night dinner, and sat at the table for more than 15 mins, no water, no server asked us to take order. Will never go there again.

Tried delivery from Skipthedishes from this place again, gave me stale old/cold rice. Just avoid it.

The service was pretty bad. Came in with a friend and stood at the door. It beeped to let them know somebody entered. The waitress was at the counter on her phone and clearly saw us but stayed on her phone and ignored us.

Finally we just sit down and grab our own menus. We called her so we could place our orders. The food was average at best. Won't be going back.

Absolutely WORST customer service EVER! You’d be absolutely stupid to spend your money here, they don’t deserve to make money, shut your door and be miserable at something else.

Top notch experience, food is amazing. I’ve tried lots of Korean restaurants and this place still comes up on top. Spicy Pork Bone Stew is my favorite

There was barely any wait to sit down, order and get our food.the owner of the restaurant (heajin hong) was so accommodating and demonstrated a lot of care and dedication to provide an exceptional experience.we had been watching a lot of korean media and we wanted to get a chance to try everything we had been craving and the food exceeded our expectations.if anyone decided to check it out the fried chicken is a must have, it was the right amount of cripsy and juicy.we will definitely be coming back soon, thank you for having us.

Used to be pretty good and might be because of the pandemic and inflation, the quality of food is not as good before.

Extremely salty dishes with minimum quantities, ordered seafood pancake, but literally with 95% green onions and 5% squids as an example.

Had diarrhea right after dinner and felt disappointed and puky.

This a great place to try korean cuisine for a good price! We loved the bibimbap, spicy crab and seafood stew and spicy pork and squid stir fry, AND it was AWESOME!

Pretty tasty food staff is super friendly and I kind of like the call button that they put at our table.

Korean Grill 2 in Ellwood replaced Wing Chicx a few years back with new management and menu. I was a little bit scared about the change as a fan of wing chicx but the new staff are so friendly and accommodating. The food is tasty and good for sharing. The manager always has a smile:)

Family owned restaurant. We ordered half of a fried chicken. Prizes are very reasonable and the food was the bomb. A lot of good portions and sides.

Much better then Popeyes.

Good-sized plates, excellent flavour. We really enjoyed the sweet and spicy chicken! A nice variety of side dishes: kim chi, pickled bean sprouts, pickled raddish, and pickled cucumber.

Delicious food. We had ttokpokki and spicy stir-fried chicken. Both were good. Our Server was very friendly.

When in City we always look for Korean food. Had to spend this week in City and found Korean Grill. We ate there three times this week, their Bulgogi and chicken dishes are the best with big portions and reasonable prices, this will now be our go to Korean restaurant in future.

I order from here often and their food is so delicious and fresh. They place a lot of their food in tin foil then in packaging to help retain the heat so it's still fresh for take out. I highly recommend this place for yummy Korean food.

The service is regularly prompt, good ambience, very nice employees. Will come back again when I get nearby.

DELICIOUS food, HEARTY portions!

This is my new favorite Korean restaurant in Edmonton.

Fried Chicken - Every restaurant has their own style. For me, their style is by far the best Korean Fried chicken in town. Crispy enough, not oily, big portion, and most importantly, has flavor! I recommend trying the original with sweet & sauce on the side. You get best of both worlds.

Seafood Pancake - Lots of fillings and puffy so, fills you up pretty quick so watch out.

Spicy Seafood Noodle Soup - Again, follows the trend of hearty portions. Spicy and delicious! Liberally had seafood in every bite. When I try this dish at other restaurants, I find more veggies than meat. Here, it's the opposite. This should be made a standard.

Their service, even for pickup, is great. I can't wait for dine-in to open up again so I can try the rest of their menu.

Food was great, lots of it and tasty. Price was reasonable and the restaurant was really clean.

The chicken wings are fantastic and this is one of our fave places to eat in the city. The servers are friendly, but the food can sometimes take a long time to be served as there are only handful of people manning the restaurant.

My absolute favourite place to eat! The owners are incredibly kind and the staff are always great. The food is amazing and it's a great place for small group dinners! Will always come back to this restaurant.

Proprietors took good care of my client and I. Portions were plentiful and the price reasonable. Scramble parking in the lot and wheelchair accessible. If the main dining room was warmer, I would have given a 5.

It was my first time visiting this restaurant for pick up. Overall, store was very clean, quiet and staff was super friendly. In terms of food, the chicken was very crispy, juicy and the flavour was nice. Very similar taste to original Korean sweet spicy chicken what I remembered from back home. Friend and I ordered over $30 of one sweet and spicy chicken. It was good enough size portion for two adults and still have some.
Oh yeahhhhhh, Definitely want to visit again.

Note: They got this bell by the table that you ring when you need them and they'll be happy to serve. As long as you don't expect the "norm" where your server is always just walking by or checking up on you every 15 mins, then you're good.

If you want to taste all the famous Korean cuisine. Come to this place. They have a great indoor. All of these tables have a grill in the middle. The exhaust on top of the table is visible, which sucks all the smoke created from cooking that you won't suffocate if all grill works at the same time. The food is all delicious. They have beverages that content 17% alcohol that is like tequila. And it's awesome. This place is good for office teams. Family and Friends. Recommended to all who crave Korean Food. Their washroom offers a changing area for baby too.

We went for a quick meal and the staff was super friendly! They followed all covid protocols including wiping down the debit credit machine. The food was amazing and the wings were fall off the bone tender. We're definitely going back soon!

Don't go there! It'll ruin your plan. An unfriendly waitress will ignore your coming from the beginning. I had to go ask to the kitchen after waiting 15 minutes and rang a bell four times as I was told from the waitress who put the menu on the table then disappeared. Finally, a man came and said it would take 40 more minutes like this was normal. Three other non-korean groups seemed to have no idea but just waiting, which made me feel sorry. We just left the restaurant feeling bad. This was our third time visiting this restaurant but we got out two times with the same stories. If the owner saw this review, I hope my review would help wake you up and realize that there is huge room to improve your customer service mind as well as staff training.

I ordered the sweet soy and garlic fried chicken using Skip The Dishes. My order arrived at the expected time, the food was hot, fresh, and very delicious. Highly recommended!

We ordered on bulgogi, fried chicken, ox bone soup, spicy stir fried squid on skip. All we got was white rice. The scent of the chicken is there tho so we just smelled the rice and eat more rice. Now I know where to order rice.

Quality seems way above average. Prices are a bit steep and the Budae Jigae hot pot had no spam in it, and hardly any sausage. Largely just vegetables.

Had the pork backbone stew to accompany the fried chicken, and it was very delicious! The meat was so tender and the stew had just the right amount of spice.

The place offers a vast variety of fresh food. I enjoy eating here. The employees are always helpful, pricing is fair and the place is always kept clean.

Firstly, the waiter there (may have been the owner) was extremely hospitable. We just wanted to order take out, but he still pulled out chairs, gave us tea and even voluntarily gave us the wifi password while we were waiting. Not to mention he gave us 2 free pop cans when he handed us our order!
As for food, we ordered the fried chicken and the marinated short ribs. For the price of each dish, there was a lot of food. The chicken may have not been tasty as signature places like sfc or coco's, but it was juicy and tender. The short ribs were also seasoned very well and was delicious. It may have been more oily than what I would've liked, but i definitely enjoyed my meal!

A nice place to drop in and have a bite. Food was delicious and moderately priced, staff was polite and the restaurant, well decorated and clean. I had the dumplings and sweet and spicy boneless chicken. I'll definitely be back to try out some of the other options.

Before the ownership switched over, the food was great. My family and I used to go there all the time and the older gentleman that worked in the kitchen (possibly the owner) always came out to play with the young ones when he had time and gave them ice cream or candies. After the new owner, , staffs and menu had changed. The food is not good anymore.

Food was excellent. Second time I have been back. Only thing to get up to five stars would be the overall temperature of the restaurant. I'll be back.

I ordered on the doordash delivery menu under bbq section (no. 12) Grilled marinated beef short rib for $23.99 & (no. 11) Grilled marinated pork galbi for $21.99 & on the website picture it looks like a full entree of just bbq beef short rib & bbq pork galbi, that’s why I ordered it. But when it came it had rice on the side. It looks like one of their individual menus that are in the $14.99 price range like the pork cutlet with rice included. I was expecting a full order of bbq beef & bbq pork galbi. Food is overpriced for what I got.

This was my first time visiting the restaurant after they have been converted to Korean Grill 2. Wing Chicx was my favourite original Korean Fried Chicken restaurant so I wanted to see if there’s a difference. Overall, the atmosphere, decor, and the service was good. In terms of food, the chicken was still very crispy and juicy and the flavour was nice. However, I feel like there is a slight difference in the breading still. Additionally, their other food like Bibimbap didn’t stand out as much as I remember.

Tiny portions, high prices and poor service. We had a party of 8 and all left hungry. The food we had tasted good, but 23.99 for a portion of short ribs that barely made it around the table is not okay. We had to press the call button on the wall continuously for water and when provided, we ran out before we could all be served. Also, we ordered a soup that was supposed to come with noodles and they were not provided. This soup cost 52.99! There’s much better Korean restaurants in the city where the value for what you get is better.

Very tasty food. The chicken is so tender and juicy. The cold noodle soup is my favorite! Especially after the burst of spicy food in my mouth. The chewy and smooth taste of cold noodle gives a cold refresh feeling. The food is great other than we were served with lukewarm tea, even after the second refills the tea still taste lukewarm.

I like the restaurant before they change to Korean Gill. They also increase the price by over 30-40%. Even most the food might be the same.
The waiting time for them to make the food to the table is horrible! Takes forever if they are busy.
The services is good, however, Kieran Gill2, I will not visit again.

I had visited Wing Chicx a few times before they had transitioned to Korean Grill 2. At the time, before the transition, the food was very delicious. Even their questionable dishes, like the Bulgogi poutine, was really tasty. It really is a shame that Wing Chicx had transitioned to Korean Grill 2, with new owners and a new menu. We had ordered the standard Korean Fried Chicken with the Sweet and Spicy sauce. They brought the order of chicken out, and had informed us they ran out of the Sweet and Spicy sauce. They then proceeded to bring us a small bowl of whatever sauce they had left, and said we could dip our chicken in the bowl of sauce, if needed. The chicken dish itself was dry and full of white meat. The rest of the food that we had ordered was very below average. I would not recommend Korean Grill 2 to anyone who is wanting to experience Korean cuisine. It really is a shame that the quality of the food had declined so much after the transition from Wing Chicx.

I went for lunch yesterday with my husband. The pan fried dumplings and the BBQ beef were delicious but my braised pork dish tasted odd. I finally detected a fishy taste. My husband ate my pork dish while I ate his beef dish as he doesn't mind fish. When I was asked for feedback by our very young Asian waitress, I told her exactly this. She was sorry but categorically denied the presence of fish or fish sauce in my pork dish. She did not bother verifying her statement with the kitchen. Her attitude annoyed me at first but made me mad a little while later when I was starting to have a fishy aftertaste that stayed with me for the rest of the day. The rest of the journey through my system was no fun either. Luckily, I only have an intense dislike for fish and not allergies. I understand Asian culture due to extensive travel and study. But I don't particularly like to be lied to and I appreciate knowledge about the menu in a waitress and honesty.

Great food and friendly service. We had the bulgogi, seafood pancake and bibimbap hotstone and it was all very tasty. We'll be returning to try other things on the menu.

Good flavor, selection for non fried chicken items is pretty basic. Good for skratching a korean food itch but not my first choice on the south side.

This place was really good! The meats were affordable and good quality. I was pleasantly surprised that we got to grill our own meat, I didn’t think I’d find a place like that in Edmonton.
All in all, would definitely recommend:)

My Korean partners and my favourite fried chicken place in all of Alberta. The side dishes are amazing, order your chicken with pickled daikon. But their other dishes are great too. This places' sundubujjigae is some of the best I've tasted. It is worth the drive.

The restaurant is not very big but neat. The Japchae is a bit salty for me. The beef soup is soo good!

Super super slow and people who spoke korean who arrived later were served first before non korean speakers. Food took 1 hour to arrive while others were served early. Subpar

Out of all the places I've been that serve Korean cuisine, this one has got to be my favourite. Food is great and the service is superb. Jung-in (?) was very accommodating and the owners are very helpful with providing you the best meal experience. We ordered pork belly and bulgogi beef for the meats as well as a glass noodle dish to share. For about $22 per person before tips, this place will fill you up and leave you satisfied.

Super reasonable prices and food was amazing. Glass noodles and bulgolgi were some of the best I've had in the city and the side dishes were also quite good. Service was also great and Jungin was super nice. Definitely my favorite Korean restaurant now.

This is probably our most visited Korean resturant. They just renovated and added Korean BBQ, which we haven't tried yet. They have the best spicy pork bone soup (personal opinion), the small size has 6 or more pieces of pork bone and the pot is quite large for $31.99. There is enough soup to order a side of ramen if you want. We love the call button, so you don't have to wave or wait for eye contact for service. The napkins and utensils are on the side of the table, which makes it convenient. Unlimited side dishes as usual, we especially love the mashed potatoes. Strongly recommend this place and will continue to be a frequent visitor. Keep up the good work!

Its always worth it to eat here, either for lunch or dinner. And almost all the time, i never get to take a picture of the food and the place for other people to see. Cause once they serve it, im down for serious business.to EAT!
The food they serve is always consistently delicious! Our usual comfort food is barbeque beef short ribs, rice and tteokbokki (spicy rice cake). Yum yum! I recommend for you guys to try!
