Korean Village Restaurant

Decent Korean BBQ place with a good selection of meats and a few sides and salads. The service is Ok (only one server) but the place is also not very busy. This place not a 5 Star place in terms of looks and servic but is also not dump.

Good value for the money. Attentive service. The marinated beef and chicken are tasty while not too sweet or salty and has good variety of vegetables to accompany the grilled meat. Always enjoy grill it yourself type of dining but some places are way too expensive. This restaurant hit the sweet spot.

The restaurant owner and the server are so good at blaming costumers lol. Each review is there for a reason. But look at all their replies to the 1-star reviews. It's totally fine that you just believe you are prefect and it's the unsatisfied costumers who are wrong.

This restaurant is the buffet. When we arrived there the waiter was very kind but the owner was pushy not too kind. I will not return to that restaurant again.

First time having korean BBQ and it was a great experience. Price wasn't bad considering the selection.

Ooooooooh MAN was this place good! I haven’t had Korean bbq that good before! Not to mention the kimchi WAS AMAZING (I’m not a huge fan so that’s saying a lot) highly HIGHLY recommend going here everything was fresh, delicious, and worth every penny!

The food and experience was good. It’s a bit on the pricy side compared to other buffets. Was surprised on such a high charge for a child, most buffets will let small children slide.

Service was friendly and quick. Nice selection of meat, and other food items to enjoy on the in table BBQ.

I just went there tonight and oh my! The food was incredible, the staff were so helpful and have us recommendations on what was most popular and what to try if we liked _.

Extremely expensive for how terrible the meat it. Did not finish my meal and left hungry after paying 100$. We didn't even get served water.

I’m surprised, and that isn’t easy to do.

Not sure how we found this place as it was farther away then we normally travel from our hotel. But we did and I’m glad.

First, when we walked in… I noticed that one lady was basically running the front-of-the-house (seating guests, setting up the tables, cleaning tables, bringing out food, taking payments, and being nice and welcoming to everyone. To be honest, the place is a small restaurant with only a dozen or more tables… but too much for one person. She did it.

Second, place is clean. Amazingly so for an all-you-can-eat place. Usually they are very dirty because of the volume of food and people moving around. Self serve usually ends up in messy floors, dirty serving stations and somewhat disappointing washrooms… but not this place. They have it very organized. I wouldn’t eat off the floor, but that’s because it snowed out and there was dirt and water tracked in. Otherwise the place was amazing.

Third, the food was tasty and well presented. The table side bbq station was clean and the paper they cover it with allows them to regularly switch out the paper to give a fresh surface without having to scrub the cast iron grill (it stayed clean).

I said to the lady that she is amazing because she was able to handle the busy restaurant on her own and keep it running smoothly. Yes there are people in the back doing food prep, but she was magnificent in how she managed everything. She actually apologized because she gave her other staff the night off due to Boxing Day and Christmas. What a wonderful person.

Anyway, if you want to have a friendly dining experience in a clean restaurant, with tasty food and a very reasonable price….

Do yourself a favour and find this place. It is a little hidden away, but it is worth the adventure to dine here.

This is a place I’ll add to my list of “come back when I’m in Edmonton again! ”

We came back to Edmonton and had to stop in here again (it was so good last time we were here months ago).

It is still amazing.

Food is fresh. Crazy fresh. Marinated meats are incredible with flavours and so tender.

Dipping sauces are also on point. They are packed with taste and go so well with the food.

Hostess was on her own again in the front-of-house due to staff shortage, but somehow she keeps a full restaurant running smoothly by herself.

I really recommend this place. If I could give 6 stars, I would for sure.

(Price is very reasonable, as everything is included… even the parking)

There are some negative reviews here that talk about no taste and burning themselves. I’m sorry to hear people got hurt, however, with a little care… that shouldn’t happen. As for taste…. Don’t get it. Strong flavours are amazing here. Maybe a covid recovery taste loss? Come back again in a few months and try again?

Anyway 6 out of 5 stars from me. For the third time.

We were traveling from Calgary, coincidentally found this restaurant online and booked a reservation in case it got busy. As someone who has travelled to South Korea many times, I can say the vibe of this restaurant is very similar to authentic ones in Seoul. It's all you can eat bbq, self serve and has a surcharge if you don't finish your food. The owner was very kind to us, reminds me of my mom and even gave us choco pies as a bill dessert - that's the first for me! The food was great and also don't expect super quality, because you're setting the bar too high. It's simply Korean food, cook the meat and eat it. I'd come back here again the next time I come to Edmonton.

️I find this restaurant discriminates against Chinese people, or Chinese girls. Because all my female friends have been treated unfairly.

It's really annoying when we take a little bit of each piece of meat and still keep being reminded by the waiter that we will be charged for not finishing it, my friends and I just want to have a good time. Also the waiter tell us that we have 10 minutes left when there are 40 minutes left. I would have been fooled if I hadn't taken a picture of the door before I entered. The service is really bad.

Love this Pho restaurant, the plates are abundant and delicious. I always go for the combination plates with beef, chicken and shrimp and it never disappoints.

Verified hidden gem. Showed up at 6: 00 on Sunday and we were the initial only party there. Springs rolls are delicious along with prawn crackers. Love that you cook your own meats and veggies. Big mushrooms and good variety of veggies. Highly highly recommend the lamb, I don’t know what they do to it, but once cooked it’s one thing that will keep you coming back for. Serve yourself drinks using the soda machine. Finish the experience with vanilla, strawberry or mango ice cream! The owner is super friendly and attentive to your table. Been here a few times and have had nothing but 5 star experiences each time.

This place is very good. The bulgogi beef is delicious. The staff is very friendly and the place is cozy.

This place is one of my favorite all-you-can-eat restaurants in the city. It's a great dinner/activity with friends and family. Super chill vibes, very friendly owners and staff. The meat options are beef, lamb, chicken, and shrimp, with spicy versions that are so tasty. There's also onion, zucchini, garlic, broccoli, and mushrooms to grill up. They also have fried rice, fried veggies, spring rolls, pop, and ice cream.

It's a hidden gem in Edmonton.

I was a bit worried by the negative one-star reviews, but it was honestly such a nice experience. The restaurant has such a homey feel, it feels as though you're being transported to Korea!

The AYCE had 9 selections of meats/seafood to choose from which was more than enough. It was very clean, and the owner would make sure to switch out our grill once it got all burnt up. We went on a Tuesday evening, and it was moderately busy, but cozy. There were a couple of tables that had people who arrived before us and the owner wasn't strict with the time limits.

I saw a couple of reviews that mentioned the time limit, I'm assuming they've never been to an all-you-can-eat because it's a standard? On that note, they have a soda machine which means unlimited drinks, and they include free ice cream! Both the mango and strawberry ice cream was to die for; they were creamy and weren't overpoweringly sweet! I preferred the strawberry one though!

All in all, I think it's a great date spot! Go on a weekday for fewer people and the best service, make sure you salt and pepper your meats as well, and enjoy!

Blown away by this little Korean BBQ restaurant! I was skeptical by the other reviews but I’m so satisfied with my experience here!

I cannot believe this restaurant has been serving the Edmonton community since 1990! This is a honest, authentic, humble little restaurant that I stumbled upon recently and if I can give them more stars I definitely would! Here’s why!

True to the basics! In KBBQ culture it’s important to have good quality ingredients. Their meat is seasoned well, not over seasoned and the cuts were beautiful. The pork belly slices were well portioned between fat and meat. They bring oil and flavour to the grill! My favourite was the squid (not common anywhere else?)

All you can eat! Truly means all inclusive! With soft drinks, selection of hot food and yummy desserts! No hidden fees, it’s simple and no fuss. When you go in, you start eating! 90 mins is plenty of time to eat till you’re stuffed. Like other all you can eat places, this restaurant makes sure customers don’t waste food with their food waste fee (only applied if you are not responsible with your plate)!

Atmosphere and Culture. From the Korean decor and homely atmosphere to the actual KBBQ grilling experience, it made me feel like I wasn’t in Edmonton freezing in the middle of winter. They lasted from 1990 until now for a reason! They are doing an amazing job creating an amazing dining experience.

Please visit and support this little hidden gem in our city and give them an amazing review. The owner is so kind and I can feel the love and care they’ve given to this place. I’m so proud of the owner and staff for this wonderful restaurant they’ve created. I look forward to returning next time!
