Korean Village Restaurant

One of the best spots in the city for Korean food! They have a large menu, from bbq meats to hot pots to noodles. Great for sharing and the sides are always delicious too. Staff are friendly and very attentive

One of my absolute favourite restaurants ever! The dishes Oh Sam Bokkum and Kimchi Jjigye are comfort dishes for me and my husband knows to drive me immediately to this restaurant when I’ve had a bad day to make me feel better!

The lady who looks like the owner seems to be very angry. My child didn't eat dinner because he was startled by his grandmother screaming while he was looking for the bathroom.

Food was really delicious. If you are a big group and going on a weekend, make sure to make a reservation. Food prices are a bit expensive but meat quality is excellent.

Having recently visited Korean Village in Calgary, I must say that while it offers an authentic experience, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. This family-run restaurant prides itself on serving traditional Korean dishes, including Bibimbap Rice Bowls, Cold Noodles, Simmering Hotpot Soup, and Korean BBQ Combos.

The restaurant has the option to cook your own BBQ at the table, which adds an element of excitement to the dining experience. But we opted out of the option to cook our own BBQ, we relied on the kitchen to prepare our chosen Korean BBQ Combos. The dishes arrived sizzling hot and visually appealing, but the flavors didn't quite match our expectations. While some dishes were enjoyable, others lacked the boldness and authenticity that we had hoped for in a truly authentic Korean dining experience.

The ambiance was cozy, and the availability of party rooms for larger groups was a nice touch. The service was decent, but there were occasional delays in getting our orders taken and served. It would have been great if the staff had been more proactive and attentive.

Though the restaurant claims to use the best quality ingredients and traditional cooking methods, I found the overall taste to be average. While some dishes managed to hit the mark, others left me wanting more in terms of flavour and authenticity.

In summary, Korean Village is a restaurant with potential, but it falls short of being outstanding. With a few improvements in flavour profiles and service, it could elevate itself to a higher rating. If you're looking for an average taste of authentic Korean cuisine in Calgary, Korean Village might be worth a visit, but don't expect a five-star experience.

The Korean restaurant is delicious, the portions are plentiful, and the service is good, but there are so many visitors that it's hectic.

Very unique and cultural Korean restaurant, good service, and wonderful food. Definitely visit again.

A steamed restaurant that preserves the taste of Korea from the 1970s. It is not easy to find this kind of taste in Korea at the moment. If you want to try a real taste of Korea in Calgary, this is the one.

Amazing! First time trying here and Korean food in general and I'm blown away! Will come back again for sure

Terrible. Terrible. Terrible. #1: the worst korean food we had. BAD taste and extremely small size compare other korean restaurant. #2: Terrible service. The Waitress was very rude and bad attitude. #3: dining room table, carpet, washroom all were dirty.we (3) went here for lunch and end up with angry and hungry. I got the bonus: went washroom 5 times so far!

We keep coming back because no one makes kimchi better than here and they probably know it because they won’t sell it either! The side dishes are amazing!

Entree portions are smaller than before, one order of LA Galbi K2 is about 0.5-0.6 LB for $35. Their E1 $22 (deep fried pork and sweet and sour sauce) is the best I’ve ever had, we usually sub for chicken instead. We also like their Japchae E4 $21.

Real authentic Korean food, if you want the real deal, come here. Other places serve "Korean" corn dogs and other "Korean street foods" but not here.

We had the mushroom and beef hot pot which was excellent though it would've been nice to have more beef for how large the hotpot is. The bibimbap is also always great, BB7 and BB8 are our favorites.

It saddens me to write such a negative review about a restaurant I've frequented for 15 years. I was here for dinner, our waitress forgot one of our items and let us know, apologized for it and this was totally fine. We all make mistakes, and we were still enjoying our visit. In the last 30m that it took for us to get our last dish and finish it, I asked for water 3 times and never received it. It was 26 degrees that day and we had bbq so we were a bit hot. We asked nicely all 3 times. When the bill came, it was over $200 and we tipped under what we normally do cause we never got our cold water. We were stared down by the waitresses as we left and someone in our 3 person group had to explain it was because we never got cold water despite asking 3 times. I don't appreciate being judged for a small tip for bad service. I will just move on.

We are regular customers there and as usual today we ordered the takeout but because I was sick so my husband picked up on the way home. We are so used to it he didn’t mention about how much he paid even he has thought. Until the restaurant called and apologized the mistake and refunded us the difference. I have to say it hard to see a such honest business and it show they really care about the customers. Of course the food is good that why we go there all the time.

Food was great, service was great. Got one of the meal deals for 3 and I was worried at first if it would be enough but it was more than enough. We didn't even finish it all. I had a great time and would definitely recommend it.

The combos are good value, bbq was good but had the seafood hotpot and the stock was lackluster

Came in today for the first time. Entrees like the squid and bbq were quite sweet, not so much complexity in flavour. The side dishes didn't help as they were many pickled side dishes too (all veggies). The staff were attentive though.

The food is quite good and service is good. My only complaint - why single use chopsticks? ! They are terrible and I can’t imagine washing real chopsticks being too much work since they’re already using actual spoons, dishes, and bowls etc.

One of my favorite Korean place in Calgary. My favorite is LA galbi and seafood pancake. Seafood pancake is crispy outside and soft inside, has a lot of seafood in it, really good.

Ordered the black bean noodles which were very good. A bonus is that it is close to a Korean grocery store so you can pick up different items like gochujang paste after your meal.

Parking can be tricky but you can street park. We ordered a table BBQ Combo for 3 but it could have fed 6! Everything tasted fresh and delicious. Staff are quick and efficient but very friendly. This restaurant is quite busy but not loud and open; tables are somewhat private. They do offer private rooms also. I only wish they had kimchi jeon on the menu as well as seafood pajeon but that’s because their kimchi is amazing. We’ll be back!

Best Korean food in Calgary, all around. Flavour, quality, and service. Staff are always super kind and I always get the kimchi jiggae, soondubu, and gamjatang with an extra bowl of rice or banchan. My go-to spot

To me the service was better than food, but the food is really good too. Nethertheless food here is solid. To me all Korean food made by Koreans are the best. The owner, servers and everyone that works here are all wonderful people just needs a little bit of improvement on the food, but still a solid restaurant for Koreanfood. I think if I ever go back I will try there meats more. Maybe I can flare up on they're food next time
