Kevin pruned a fairly large chokecherry that had gotten a bit large and needed shaping. He did a great job, and charged me slightly less than quoted. He seemed very knowledgeable and took his time. He was friendly, punctual and got back to me quickly.

Kevin comes in with an unmatched knowledge of trees for our climate. Having him survey our 45+ trees and shrubs and advise on pruning, planning, and care was invaluable. Why get a tree health consultation? Kevin is a very knowledgeable arborist. I chose Kevin to evaluate the health of my over 150 trees because it was clear to me that he was different from other arborests. Not only does he possess the scientific background for what he knows, he also has years of observational skills for how trees grow, thrive, and how they sometimes struggle. He identified every tree correctly which other arborests failed to do. I love my trees. He's a tree lover and that's why I had Kevin do a tree health consultation for me. What can I say that hasn't been said by all the excellent reviews! Kevin is a very good teacher and has a lot of information at his finger tips. An apple tree that I thought had to come down was just needing a lot of water - the spruce tree near it was taking all the moisture. My beautiful ornamental weeping crab had fire blight which Kevin promptly got to work removing and educating me about. He cleaned up my amur maple and checked the many bushes in the yard. The man was busy! And yet all the time he was giving me a lot of information about each and every plant he touched. Many thanks for all you did, Kevin. I know who to call again if I need help with my trees.

Kevin Lee visited us this afternoon for help diagnosing why our Amur Maple's leaves were turning yellow, the first time since we planted the tree seven years ago. We assumed it was chlorosis, having read the article "Yellow Leaves" on Kevin's informative website. After reading that article we felt Kevin would be the best person to advise us on what to do. Kevin agreed with our assessment and was able to explain why it was happening now and what we needed to do to fix it. We then visited all of the trees in the back and front yards (birches, cedars, junipers, fruit and shrubs) and learned more about their health, how to maintain or improve it and how and when to prune and water. Kevin was always teaching in his caring, knowledgeable and fun way. We wanted to work with someone knowledgeable about tree health as opposed to someone focused on pruning. We enjoyed the session with Kevin and are happy with the action plan we have, glad to know we're doing most things right and optimistic for the future of our trees and shrubs.

My wife and I spent a very informative afternoon with Kevin on our 2 acre property just west of Calgary. We move here 4 years ago and just 2 years ago planted 80 trees. For the most part we though the trees were doing fine but wanted to bring Kevin out to educate us on how the trees really are doing and what to look for in the years ahead. Over the winter we read Kevin's book "Your tree, what they want you to know", fabulous book which provided the bases for our discussion. The hours spent with Kevin was very relaxed and extremely informative, his passion for trees and educating is accelerating. It was a fun afternoon walking the property and discussing; previous years growth, mulch considerations, when and what to trim and when and what not to trim, water water water the necessary ingredient for tree life, when to fertilize and when not to, tools of the trade and how to correctly use them, etc. Overall an excellent afternoon with Kevin and I would highly recommend him for what ever tree issue one has or wants to understand more on tree maintenance and health. I reached out to Kevin at KRL Tree Service for a consultation. After building a new home, I had a number of trees and shrubs planted on my property. Some of these appeared to be stressed and unwell. Luckily, I clicked on KRL Tree Service's website. Kevin seemed like the perfect person to help make a diagnosis.

Kevin arrived at the consultation on time and was very polite. He led me through a fun, and in-depth discussion about my yard. We talked about each and every plant. Keven took time to discuss soil, roots, branches and identifying growth from one year to the next. His teaching and knowledge helped me confident that I will be able to keep everything healthy moving forward. I look forward to him coming back again once my yard has matured and established.

We hired Kevin for his educational services & he helped us understand the needs of all our different trees. We enjoyed his style and attitude, he cares about trees and the natural world. We just had him back to prune our Mountian Pine and it looks great. Just the prune we wanted, still letting the tree grow, but cleaning it up so it looks a bit better for neighbors who prefer manicured yards. Perfect balance!

He knows what to look for to understand the tree’s overall health, where and when to prune and why, signs of disease or insect harm and will give you tips about what your tree needs.
Over a year after helping me with a sick flowering crab he still answers my questions about this and my other trees too.

After having a well known commercial pruning company over prune my mature trees a few years ago, I decided to get some quotes for pruning this year. I had Kevin complete an assessment where he spent over an hour sharing his knowledge and expertise. He provided specific and actionable feedback for each of my trees and upright junipers.

I hired Kevin to prune my mature mountain ash and he did an excellent job! He had a reason for every cut. Kevin left the tree looking great and the site exceptionally clean.

I was extremely impressed with Kevin when he came out to assist at our property. He is very knowledgeable, which is hard to find in Calgary. We will absolutely be having him out again in the future.
