Me, my boyfriend and our two cats have been living here since September 2022, and the experience hasn’t been too great.

! WORTH THE READ!

The cons:

POST MOVE-IN
We did have a couple things that bugged us like the permanent paint splotches on the floor and the human tooth I found on the floor of the guest bathroom. (I did email staff about it, but was never replied to or contacted.)

SUITE CONS
The updated suites look awesome on paper, and even in the walkthrough. But unfortunately they’re built with pretty low quality supplies. The bathrooms always have issues such as low water pressure, extreme calcium buildup, lack of storage and clogged pipes. The kitchen also has had some annoying quirks such as clogging pipes, and an awful fridge layout. And don’t forget the lack of available ethernet ports. (We had to buy more connectors or really long ethernet cords.)

BUILDING CONS
The building garbage dumpsters are across the large parking lot, and it can be quite a chore to walk across in the freezing cold or hot sun 2-4 times a week. Sometimes the elevators can be booked for new tenant move-ins or are just extremely slow. None of the spots have an electrical outlet to plug into in the winter. And they also removed guest parking as an entirety, and there is little to no street parking available. (You’re also paying $50 a month for parking.) There is also a ton of dog owners in this building, which brings wet dog smell into elevators, and occasional pee puddles, which can be off-putting, especially for guests. And you can’t forget the (what seems to be) biweekly building-wide issues such as frequent fire alarms, construction, in-suite fire alarm issues and checks, and power outages.the pros:

SUITE PROS
The layout is great, and the balconies are well sheltered. The LED mirrors and glass shower/bath are very nice touches, along with the extra wall hooks. The kitchen island and sparkly countertops are fantastic centre pieces, along with the built-in laptop/side bar/vanity area. The barn door and walk in closet are also cute. (Closet is a little small for two people though.) And lastly the screen door lock pad is very convenient (when its not needing to be fixed, which we had to do to ours) and is very aesthetically pleasing.

BUILDING PROS
The building itself is very modern and pleasing to the eye, inside and out. The gym is very nice, and besides a few quirks, it has most of what you need; certainly more than the average hotel gym. The buzzer screen is also nice to have even though it can be a bit laggy. The management are nice, and very helpful. The building staff are also really fantastic and do their jobs well. And most of the tenants are nice and quiet people.

All in all, we can put up with the cons until we get too tired of them. With inflation going up, things are getting more and more expensive and will make it harder to tolerate as time goes on.

Efficient and friendly staff including the manager and the maintenance people, parking stalls space underground are too tight, only a few exceptions, however, find it difficult to maneuver for most stalls. Well maintained and cleaned common areas and generally quiet.

Living here is nice. Tina is a great manager. The building is also quiet. However, the best part about living here is having Olga, from Ukraine, as the custodian. She works so hard and is always so friendly.

Poorly managed and built, no garbage chute and they made it so far from the building as well.horrible sound proofing, have to walk like a mouse and hear everything floor above and in hallways.no underground parking, no surface parking no parking ever anywhere.goodluck

The building is so poorly managed, and it wasn’t always like this since living here in July 2020, with each new ‘community manager’ being worse than the last. There is no way to even get a hold of anyone in the office when you call from 9-5, during office hours. I had a serious issue inside of my unit outside of business hours and the property manager didn’t even f/u. I get people are busy, but to never return the tenants phone call like c’mon. I have things falling apart in my unit weekly with cracks in the wall evident. I also have someone who smokes like a chimney in the unit beside me and it’s gross as I am constantly being exposed to second hand smoke. New renters beware! They do not have concierge, they are misleading when it comes to the amenities that they offer within the building and when I brought that to managements attention they shrugged it off like it was no big deal. She could have easily said she would look into it, but that was not her initial response.

The building itself is well kept, the amenities are top notch, and the staff is awesome. The group working at the La Vie are the most pleasant people you will come across. They will always help you when you need and answer any questions you have very quickly. The security team members are friendly as well. Extremely happy with the decision to live here.

La Vie Luxury Living has been one of the best apartments that I have ever lived in. The property management staff have been both helpful and understanding with any of my requests. The apartments showed to me were very clean & the location is in a great spot with access to groceries, gas stations, parks & public transit within walking distance. Overall this is a great apartment building that lives up to the Luxury Living name. I would recommend anyone looking to check this place out while they still have availability.

The amenities are what drew me in and the friendly and professional staff are what made me stay! They have really set a new standard for me and my living preferences. Good location, not far from everything you need but quiet enough. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this building to a friend looking for a new home.

I wanted to make sure I set things straight on here as I saw some negative reviews that did not make any sense to me. I have lived here since they opened and have had nothing but wonderful things to say! The new Property Manager responds in a very timely fashion and the management is all the same. The suites are great for the price and make you feel comfortable especially for the reasonable costs. Don't hesitate to check these guys out for your new home!

Ive been living in this apartment for about 4 months now, and have zero complaints. The location is perfect, the apartment size is suitable for my needs, and the staff who take care of the place are a compliment to the all around great living experience I get from living from here.

We have lived here since last summer. From the day we moved in there was a tin sounding noise from the fan above our suite entrance door. The fans in the building weren't on when we did a walk through on 2 different days before signing the lease. The maintenance said they can't do anything about it, so my spouse and I went and bought materials ourself to block the noise from our suite.
When maintenance came to fix the heaters from making this vibration noise, i asked him about fixing the hole in the wall beside the heaters (hole was from the building contractors making it too big when they installed the heaters and no one ever fixed it). So he said he wasn't sure how to fix it. So I suggested some sort of putty, sanding and repainting. The maintenance guy then said that he doesn't really know what he's doing and that he just uses common sense. However after 2 times of coming here to fix them, heaters still make a vibration noise that wakes us up in the middle of the night.
When we did a walkthrough before moving in, we were told by the manager at the time (there has been 3 managers here since we moved here last summer) that the hydro doesn't bill monthly and the cost of the previous manager bill had been approx $20something and that's with the AC running in the summer. Low and behold after a couple months of not receiving a hydro bill, we got a hydro bill for 12 weeks at once in January (they claim it was because of epcor) for almost $200.when we brought it up, the Manager sent us snapshots of the lease and said we are obligated by the lease, regardless of what we were told previously.
Since last summer there was a fungal gnats issue with the bugs coming in through the screen door/patio door EVEN WHEN THE DOOR WAS CLOSED FOR DAYS AT A TIME. We kept our patio closed the majority of the summer and fall because of this, didn't even get to use the BBQ the building provided. Went and bought various bug repellant and even a $100 zapper, but still the bugs kept coming in. They would fly in our drinking water and food. I brought it up right away to the manager at the time who kept brushing it off. So then I started to take photos of videos to keep track.this went on and on with no resolve. I have photos and videos of this from August through October. The bugs only stopped because of winter.expect them in the spring and summer again.
Then because the door fobs don't work properly for some people, instead of providing those tenants with a key, la vie was leaving the front door open. But they were also storing mail parcels behind the desk and leaving them there over night, with no security of the front entrance being secured.
-We were stolen from by another tenant in the building who stole our parcel because it was left out at the concierge desk unattended. The building has done nothing about the tenant who stole from us. And I was the one who had to ask them repeatedly for 2 weeks to review the camera footage to find out what happened to our parcel. I called the police and when they came said he had been in this building for similar cases but mine was the first that had footage.
- the thieft happened in November and the front entrance was still being left open until about a week ago when I brought it up AGAIN. I told them we were fed up with this place and the manager tells us that she can go ahead and prepare the termination fees regarding the lease.
Every time there is a new manager I have to start from the beginning about all the issues we've had. All management does is deny accountability and shove snapshots of the lease in your face whenever there's an issue. Sure there are issues with the suite; cabinets cracking, drains slow, heaters hissing and vibrating even when they aren't on. I'm sure there are other issues I forgot to mention but those are the biggest ones I can recall.
I am open to updating this review once stuff is resolved. But until then, this is our experience living at La Vie apartments in Edmonton.

We've been living at La Vie for 6 months now, and it has been wonderful. This is the only building we found in South Edmonton that was willing to accept our large dog without any extra hassle or exuberant pet fee. They also just recently created a dog run for all the La Vie pets!

I'd also like to mention that our concierge, Lauryn, is fantastic. She has a great relationship with the tenants, spoils our dog with treats whenever she sees him, receives packages for us and keeps tenants up to date with happenings around the building.

Very poor work place the manager of the building only cares about money property manager gets changed every month. I would definitely not recommend getting an apartment here there are much better apartments in the area. Very cheap quality in the apartments the material used for the balcony is unsafe. They also do not respond to requests fast and go into apartments without permission. Steer clear of la vie new building built out of pennys.

As a new resident of Edmonton, it was difficult at first to get settled in as it is with any move to a new city. Luckily, I was able to rent an apartment at La Vie Luxury Living and it has made the transition much easier. The staff have been very friendly, the other tenants that I have met so far are incredible and it's located very close to a golf course which is an added bonus. I highly recommend La Vie if you're looking to live "The Life! "

I have lived here since they opened and I see some negative reviews here. I want to tell you how great it has been to live here. The new Property Manager responds to any issues quickly, the management is fantastic, the Concierge gives an extra friendly face and secure feeling. The suites are beautiful and not "cheap". If you are looking for a new home, and a great place to live, look no further!

Been living here for a couple of months and I can honesty say that I have had a fantastic experience. The staff are very friendly and the property itself is beautiful and well taken care of. I only have great things to say about this building!

Gorgeous apartment complex that im happy to call my home, saw a negative review on here about it so i just wanted to chime in and give a good one! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful when i was first moving in, including finding and reserving a parking stall big enough to fit both my vehicle and motorcycles underground. The application process was easier than most seeing as though they saved us the hassle of printing out, signing, and sending forms back, by switching to adobe sign. As well, the concierge Terri is an absolute gem, she's been extremely helpful from helping with packages, letting in my girlfriend after she accidentally got locked out, to even helping me network with other people in the building who she'd noticed worked in the same profession. And last point I'll make, no propane or coal barbeques are allowed in the building so to compromise the owner gave everyone a very high quality electric grill which ive used as much as i possibly can! Needless to say, I love living here so far
