Lacombe Hospital and Care Centre

5 hours wait! Doc saw us for 2 mins, 5 mins for an X-ray. This hospital is a disgrace! Nurses are too busy chit chatting rather than look after people, they don’t look in on anyone to see if they need anything either. No offer of an ice pak, you need to ASK apparently.
Total joke of an ER

I had to come in to see a doctor for a serious and fast progressing infection and be treated with antibiotics through an iv several times a day over the course of about a week. I arrived at all times of the day or night and have been served well by a team of so many talented people who really do care about how they help those in their care. Upon my overall discharge, I had a great care package of follow up info, and a prescription to continue my treatment at home. This was my first visit to the Lacombe Hospital, and if I need help again in an urgent manner, I will come again.

Horrible experience! Went in for having random blurry vision and a major anxiety/ panic attack and was shaking from it and had high blood pressure at the time. Waited 3-4 hours in just the waiting room, when I told the people at triage I was needing help cus I was shaking so badly from my anxiety attack, all they said is “ can’t do anything about it go sit down” man was I mad. Then when I finally got to see the dr there, she barely examined me, didn’t even give me urine sample or blood testing to see if maybe there was something causing it. Just did a quick 2 min exam checking my eyes and sent me off. Like I sat there for so long just for that? Worst experience ever! 0/10

May 2022- My dad was transported by ambulance twice in one day to Lacombe hospital only to be treated with painkillers and fluids, ticking numerous boxes indicating stroke. He was released both times without being sent for further investigation, unable to walk or open his eyes. It was confirmed a couple days later that my dad did indeed suffer two strokes. Without human decency and at the hands of neglect, we are deeply thankful to still have our dad, husband and papa. Feb 2023- Wishful thinking, I hoped surely Lacombe could competently handle reading an X-ray. My son living with T1D suffered an injury in hockey. 6Hrs later we received incomplete X-ray diagnosis, missing important details about his lower tibia being broken right through the growth plate, I could actually see this for myself from the start. It was a no brainer for me to trust my gut and take my kiddo to the incredible care we’ve always experienced at the Alberta Children’s in Calgary. I had to really put my foot down in saying we were going. It was confirmed that I was correct in reading that X-ray and thankfully my son received proper care and support from his endocrinology team to support our other deeply important variable going into and recovery from surgery. The dr from Lacombe kept mentioning that anyone could do this surgical procedure, clearly maybe they shouldn’t be…. Will never return!

This hospital is political, the unvaxed aren’t taken serious and are often always on the bottom of triage. Even when other people come in for less serious things. Yes i can hear, This is sickening!
I also watched 2 different nurses on their phones for over an hour each. Im happy to know that my taxes fund a terrible hospital and employ terrible people with bad morals.

I was admitted into the restorative care program of the Lacombe Hospital. I was told that I would be admitted on a Friday morning. No physical therapy was offered on the Friday. I sat for 3 days waiting for Physical Rehabilitation. No exercise available except walking the halls alone. I was promised 3 hours of intensive physical therapy a day. I recieved 1 hour of physical therapy in half hour increments morning and afternoon. I was told that my program would be 28 buisness days. I was sent home in 5. I did not regain the ability to be independent and although it was pointed out to me that I had some treatable issues and my medications were not optimal, I recieved no necessary treatment. I was promised in home physical therapy but this hasn't happened.

Was in with a family member for a serious medical emergency. Nursing staff and doctor were very professional, patient, and thorough in their care, and provided excellent treatment. This family member hasn't always had great experiences with medical spaces and staff, but this was a very positive one for them, and for us as family supporting them. Thank you so much for your care!

Waste of time. Help is non-existent. Doctors are not helpful, nurses are worse. I’m okay with waiting as long as it takes as long as I actually get help. Which I never do. Your better off driving to Red-Deer

Better off dying at home, instead of wasting your time with people who don't listen or even know what they are doing. Triage doesn't listen to what happened and doctors don't care about what you have to say even when its about the medication you're on.

Worst hospital ever, miss management of staff (if you can call them that), Triage nurses that dont listen and doctors who refuse to help no matter how bad the pain is. Don't donate your money and Don't waste your time by stopping here, you're better off driving to Red Deer 0/10

I'm seriously sitting in the emergency room now. My 5 year old son was bit in the face by a dog, and it's been 8 hrs now waiting. The fat lazy triage nurse is the worst person ever. " they don't tell me anything, I don't know" she would be more helpful on her couch eating fast food! I've been told don't leave, its important he gets stiches but it's going to be a while. People with the flu are getting in before us.

Waited for 4 hours to see a Dr about a cough. 730pm to 11: 30pm. When I asked the receptionist when it would be my turn, they kept saying we don't know. Horrible health care system right now. Do everything you can to stay healthy!

Waited almost 5 hrs and left without seeing the doctor because they said since there is only 1 doctor working I need too wait long time again If there was 1 doctor only why you didn't let me know that waiting time is too long. I would go home and take a nap. My kids had fever all night and I didn't sleep and then waited here almost 5hrs The worst ER ever. Rating this place 1 out of 10.

Lacombe hospital is a complete joke. I would not recommend them what so ever. My 95 year old grandfather broke is hip awhile back and ended up in lacombe hospital for his recovery. He kept falling out of bed due to him trying to get up. We ended up giving the hospital permission to restrain him on his bed at all times and his wheel chair. Since we’ve done that he now has fallen out of bed a total of 5 times as he’s not getting the proper restrain meant. Grinds my gears when I hear my grandfather has fallen out of bed yet again. It’s always excuses with the that hospital when I find out what happened. Always think to my self how is he ever going to recover from his broken hip when he keeps falling out of bed when he’s not properly restrained. Last time he fell out the nurses said they were washing his restraining belt. Glad there washing this clothes and the restraining belt. I still can’t wrap my mind around how they only have one restraining belt in that whole hospital? All the falls most definitely coulda been prevented if he got the proper care while he’s recovering.

Absolute worst hospital ive ever been to. Say they order you in severity while in reality stitches removal was the top priority I was skipped several times either because they don't care or assume you are faking I was sent away 3 times with appendicitis I was told I was holding my breath when I had bradycardia and today I was made to sit 6 hours along with people who had been waiting 8 or more I had very very painful abdominal and nausea and vommitting. They let a person in once an hour then when you ask about wait times because you been waiting so long they say sorry can't tell you.

Had give one star because zero stars is not an option.
Dona the care aid is the most disrespectful rude woman I’ve encountered. This woman should be fired. Unprofessional and unethical.

This is my first visit to the hospital in Canada, I was bleeding on my head, I reached there 11 am instead of giving first aid they were asking my address, mob no etc, i tied the ice cubes in a cloth and holding that on my head from 11 am to 1.30 pm finally they called me at 2.30 pm they not even cleaned my wound with any antiseptic solution, just ask some questions and a tenaus injection, seriously, I'm scared to live here if this is happening in future then god only can save us not humans, thanks for your service medical team I'm seriously feeling very depressed.

The nurses and doctors are horrible and it’s very understaffed and the nurses in the long term care unit neglect their patients.there’s also no MRI, CT, or ultrasound so if you have an emergency you will have to be transferred 30 mins to another hospital.it’s ridiculous.

Over the past 2 weeks my elderly parents went in several times as they have been so sick, and there was ONE nurse who mistreated them several times, without going into too much detail, she was SO RUDE, and as they have signs saying do not mistreat the staff, WHY IS IT OK FOR THEM TO BE SO EXTREMELY RUDE to my parent’s who were scared and sick! Not AT ALL ACCEPTABLE! She should be sent to school to learn how to BE NICE, it goes along way and maybe she can learn that simple kindness actually goes a long way!

Waited 7 hours with fever 40 degrees, coughing, sneezing and vomiting.
After getting in to the room. Waited another 1hour 20 ninutes.
Doctor came in and said that they wont do anything becouse its influenza.
I insist for x ray and got denied twice.
But they were ok to chit chat with nurses in the reception, discussing stupid stuff.

Its Feburary 16,2020.so management can figure out which doctor was in.
