We arrived in Lake Louise to go hiking. We found them very helpful in identifying some trails that we could do some day hikes in. The attendant suggested that we hike the Lake Louise Shoreline Trail. That’s what we’re going to do. Will post some pictures later the temperature today is -8. The date is October 25,2023.
Nice friendly visitor center. The parking seems to discourage RVs from visiting. Spaces that at conducive to RVs are marked no RV parking. The rest are geared towards cars. Unusual for this region.
We have visited Lake Louise several times. This time, we planned to hike UL to the Lake Agnes Teahouse. When we arrived, we were not able to park at the lake, and Parks Canada’s shuttles were all booked. When we stopped by the visitor centre, Julian gave us expert advice. He recommended a place to park and hike up to the lake, and he suggested some great additional trails. Thank you so much, Julian!
No parking and ridiculous and horrible organization. We had to pay for a mandatory day pass into banff so I was confused what we were even paying for if we cant even visit the park due to no parking.the workers working at the lot, but none of them communicated and yelled at us to MOVE MOVE MOVE in the most aggressive way. We went to the visitors center to ask if there was anywhere else we can park. This older lady with brown ish mostly grey hair was so rude.i asked about the banff day pass and about what exactly are we paying for when we pay the pass. She said "are you not talking to me right now? Are you not in this building? Did you use the washrooms? Did you drive on the highway? Did you look at the mountains on your drive? Did you stop at the gas station? "? I would honestly rather talk to a wall than talk to you, you didn't even give me any useful information? And isnt this your job? Im sorry i was not aware that I had to pay to look at earths nature.next time let me just close my eyes on my drive here.after her little rant, She didnt even allow me to respond to her and went to get her manager. Thank god the manager (Allan or Aaron?) was super super kind and knowledgeable. This is where our tax money is going towards? Some unknowledgeable rude staff
It was a disappointing visit. We went to info center and they told us about moraine lake that the parking lot is full and we can't go there until 4 pm but for lake louise they made us go all the way and turned us around and sent us back. They didn't even allow my husband to stop the car so he can drop us off. I wish they had told us the samething about lake louise to avoid frustration and save some fuel.
Got excellent advice and service from Brandon about hiking trails suited for us. He even gave us trail advice for both Banff, Icedield Parkway and Jasper and provided us with relevant brochures. Couldn’t ask for more!
We drove to Lake Louise from Canmore. We parked in town and waited for a bus that we lost patience for so we drove half way up and parked at a roadside parking area. I didn't think we could hike the whole way up so this was an excellent alternative. We hiked from there and we made it. My wife and I are not hikers so if we can do it anyone can. Once you arrive in the parking area just keep walking and eventually you come to a sign that leads you right to the Lake. It was magical! My first time seeing Lake Louise and I was amazed! I've seen pictures and done puzzles of Lake Louise and at 53 years old I finally got to experience it first hand. One thing to take off the bucket list.
The attendant were very nice explaining where to go, what to do. The guy were excellent! He even gave advice about walking on the frozen lake Louise. I took the advice and it was awesome!
I called into the impressive visitor centre yesterday to be met by a bored and uninterested member of staff. Asked about day hiking trails and was handed a leaflet, I asked if these could be started from the village centre and got a nod - no attempt to open up the map and discuss some of the trails. I then asked about bike trails - was told only available in French not English. Ok, but how about offering to point out some options. Handing visitors 2 maps and not offering to give advice / help to use them/ ask if there’s anything else they can help with is pretty poor and not exactly selling the beautiful area.
Well, if you're reading this after you've arrived you're already too late in the day to park near the lake. But the people here are friendly and helpful and will find you a way to make it all happen.
Staff was friendly but when I asked for recommendations for a 2-3 night backpack trip I was told to come back when I knew what I wanted to reserve. What is a visitors center for if not to help guide the experience. I was a bit put off.
Stopped in to get some canoe/kayaking and camping info. They gave me all the info that I need for camping and kayaking along the bow. Super friendly and helpful folks.
Drove 3 hours to tell us to go away. There’s a lot of parking at top of hill explained it to parking attendant I see like 8-10 free spots he told sorry keep going. What a joke this place is waste of time.
I would give this place a negative 10. They put so much physical distancing barriers in front of the entrance that it made it very difficult for disabled people in the elderly to access the facility. Some of their barriers were also tripping hazards. When I talked to the staff they were very rude and this is very disappointing considering their park employees. I think some disability sensitivity training needs to be done. We disabled have accessibility rights and you could not put physical blockages in front of the doors. This is also a fire hazard. The bathroom had some fancy hand dryer extending off for the water tap and it was not clearly marked. How the heck is somebody who is visually impaired supposed to find this? I was unable to find it. Nice to see that the federal government it's not up to par on disability access rights. When I mention these things to the stop they were very rude to me and it is disgusting that they would argue back to a disabled person. Putting all these blockages in front of the doors causes more pain and suffering to disable Community as we are trying to get from point A to point B in the shortest distance and this is forcing us to endure hindrances that we do not need.
I wanted to get some information on good hikes around the area with no risk of avalanche. The lady at the visitor centre advised me to go to Mirror Lake. I double checked with the rentals shop at Lake Louise on the same day. Turned out avalanche risk was extremely high on that day. They should definitely inform themselves more!
Friendly knowledgable staff, clean place, beautiful washroom (ya I know that's a little weird) with taps/air dryers combo I've never seen before! Tip.read instructions first! Lol
Located in the village. Staff is helpful and friendly. Limited resources on site but their job is to give advice, not provide everything. Their are incredibly conservative. Discouraged travel to Jasper staying we need snow tires. Appreciate the concerns. Gave good recommendations for hikes and trail advide
Great facility with great staff providing great info. Displays are starting to get a bit dated to us locals, but come with terrific stories. Ask about them
Majestic views! Clearly a winner in terms of pure natural beauty. A must visit if you are ever near banff, Alberta. You can easily spend a ton fo time staring at the serene winds blowing over lake louise! The color of the water is unreal.
Especially, consider visiting during/ near the end of summer!
Comfortable warm space to tuck in on a cold rainy day. WiFi, couches and plenty of knowledgeable staff to help guide you with decision making for your journey
These guys are completely overstrained by the masses and masses of tourists. Even worse, the staff in the Visitors Centers didnt even mentioned there is a shuttle service to the Lakes. We just found out by coincidence.
Park and Ride should start in Lake Louise village and expanded. In turn, both parking lots at the lakes should completely be closed for individual traffic.
The employees are nice and professionnal, the wi-fi is free and there are places to sit down. The only "negative" point I would say is that there's a sign that say English/French, but the people I spoke to were veeeery happy that I can speak english because they wouldn't understand french. The point is understanable, it's an english state.
Amazing place. We could not find a parking spot close to the lake. One of the most friendly women at the information centre recommended taking the trail to the lake. It was 2.8 km hike with a lot of amazing views. It took 45 min with a child. Hiking child carrier is a most. Enjoy your trip:)
Too busy, didn't even get the chance to go see the lake as the roads were closed cause there was no parking spots available, there are shuttles but we had a dog so basically hiking is the only option, but when it's raining you're basically can't go see the lake.
I'm really shocked. They are not even able to grant a pass for the Morraine Lake parking lot, while my wife is pregnant and it is a high-risk pregnancy. They prefer that she take the risk of walking, waiting for a shuttle. How can anyone be so inhuman.
