Ridiculously over priced. The vet didn't even take time to ensure our dog was comfortable. We've found another vet that's much cheaper, and treats our dog properly

This has never been my first choice vet to take my dogs. However, when we had to get our family dog fixed we researched places and found that their pricing was very fair. We had a decent experience, however they tried to charge us for a higher weight class than he actually was. Then when I got my own personal dog fixed here, the same thing happened again (charging for a higher weight class which costs extra money). So I got them to fix it and everything was ok. I took my new puppy here a few months ago for her vaccinations (not my first choice vet because they were booked 2 weeks in advance) and the vet was quite cold. Regardless, I still chose to have her fixed here like the two other dogs before. I elected to pay for extra pain meds, a cone, iv fluids and catheter, and laser treatment to improve healing (along with the complementary mail trim). They once again tried to charge for a higher weight bracket, told me that they “just forgot” to do the laser treatment, almost sent me home with a different leash, and wanted me to test the cone fit by forcefully shoving it over her head (where there are plastic collar bits sticking out that could stab her eye out). Not only that but they didn’t do her complementary nail trim. I’m just disappointed… If you take your pet here, don’t expect much, don’t expect them to be organized, and check to make sure your services were performed correctly/in full and your bill properly reflects those services.

Long story short, got my cat fixed here, she has a complication they didn't want to deal with that day and said to come back if she goes back into heat and they will take care of it no charge, well it happend, so I drive an hour each way to go back to this clinic again to get told oh no we can't do that you will have to see a "specialist" for thousands of dollars (after spending over 500 already). So I leave a review.all of a sudden they can do it.
I have blocked their number and will never return nor delete this review this time. I will find another vet that can do it properly without ripping me off (as most vets do now a days). My cat is sitting here literally screaming day in and day out.

We had a great experience today with our 4 month old puppy Nova. She was nervous and Dr. Tarif put her at ease. He is the best! We also bring her older brother Loki here. The service is wonderful and the people are friendly. We will continue to bring our pets to Lakeview.

Very good vet and everyone at the office is so nice. I’ve had two little emergencies the past few months and both times they took my dog immediately.

First time here, I enjoyed the staff and Dr tahir! Super friendly:) I thought the price is great also compared to other vets. Dr.tahir seemed very knowledgeable.

What a wonderful place with wonderful staff. My troublemaking kitten ripped her stitches out TWICE over the weekend, and Lakeview was able to fit her in both times on short notice. The prices are really affordable, and the Dr is really thorough with an explanation of what could be done, as well as the costs associated. They were so kind to me and my kitten from the moment we walked through the door. They were patient and told me every detail of what they were doing, and let me sit with my little girl while she recovered from sedation. I'm very glad I found this place, and would happily recommend it to anyone.

We’ve taken our German Shepherd “Indy” here a few time, most recently for a horrible persistent ear infection …. Incredibly pleased and Indy is on the mend. Everyone is so kind… thank you! The Mitchells

We absolutely love Dr Thahir. He is so good with Precious (our elderly dog). He is kind, gentle and very professional. After having gone to a few vets, we are grateful we found Dr. Thahir.

This vet clinic has been amazing to my dog from the very first day. Everyone has been super caring and friendly. Dr. Tahir is very knowledgeable and kind to the pet and their human. He does a really good job explaining the information and takes the time to ensure you understand everything. Overall I've had a really positive experience with this vet clinic.

Had my dog spayed in this clinic. Reasonable price, safe and smooth recovery for my dog. I would recommend this clinic and will go back for my next yearly check up.

We've been with this clinic since our three dogs were just puppies. Everyone seemed to be very helpful and accommodating. They even did an emergency procedure with one of my dogs right there and then. Thanks to all the staff and most especially to Dr. Tahir for taking care of my pur babies.

Our dog had a brain injury and was unable to void so we came in and everyone here has been super helpful and accommodating while we have struggled to deal and learn about his new health needs. Very appreciated!

After trying so many vets, Lakeview could see our little Margot right away. The doctor was positive, ran all tests necessary for diagnosis, and prescribed the treatment right away. Staff is kind and polite. Clinic is nice and clean.

I absolutely love this clinic. They are always so warm and welcoming and super gentle with my cats and now my new pup. Would recommend one million percent.

This was by far the best experience we have had at a vet. Dr Tahir was extremely caring and walked us through every step of his exam/the procedures he was doing to our cat. He made sure we understood what he was doing and why. He even personally called the next day to check in and do a follow up. Cannot recommend this clinic and Dr Tahir enough.

Our kitty required surgery. She had a linear foreign body in her intestines. Other vets quoted me $5000. Lakeview quoted me $1500. I paid $1700 in the end. The receptionist stated she would call me back to set up an appointment but she never did. I had to call multiple times before the vet called me back at 1030 PM and said the surgery was booked for the next day at 11. They did not give me any pre-surgery instructions (fasting, no water, etc.). We arrive for our appointment at 11. We spend 1.5 hours there waiting for only an X-ray. The vet, Dr. Tahir, said he would go ahead with the surgery and that I would be receiving phone calls with updates on my cat. I never received these calls. I ended up calling them to get updates. They didn’t even call me when she was ready to go, I once again had to call and ask how it was going. When my cat was picked up, she was very understandably angry. She didn’t want to be picked up and for some reason she still had a catheter in her leg. She had to be pinned down by my boyfriend while she was still on strong sedative in order for this vet to remove the catheter. The vet had not prepared a care sheet with info on the surgery. They did not provide an itemized invoice. They didn’t even give us a receipt. The vet was running in and out of the room, spewing random bits of information such as painkillers, antibiotics, aftercare, but he was exiting too frequently to understand. He acknowledged this and apologized for his behaviour, but did nothing to repair it. He stated he would call us in a few days to answer any questions. He did not mention any sutures or stitches we needed to worry about. When we were called a few days later he mentioned she has sutures that must be removed, but again, he did NOT mention this when we were at the clinic. When I look on her stomach, I can’t see any.
At this point my cat flinches and cringes away from the cat carrier harder than ever and I do not feel comfortable taking my cat back to a vet who fails to mention crucial information. I rebook at another clinic. Lakeview refused multiple times to transfer my cat’s files to this other vet. We asked 3 separate times. The receptionist claimed the vet needed to “look over your files”. For what, exactly? Eventually they just start putting us on hold and hanging up on us 10 minutes into the hold. We go to the other vet without the file transfer and this vet states there is literally 0 evidence of any sort of suture on my cat. Dr Tahir has no idea what he’s talking about. While I’m thankful they were able to see and help my kitty very quickly, I will not be returning, and I strongly recommend against this clinic, especially Dr Tahir.

I have a rescue pup who has had some trauma and Dr. Tahir is so understanding all the time! We have had to search for a vet brave enough to face Otis' bark but Dr. Tahir is always up to the challenge.

Brought our cat here. Dr. Tahir seems very knowledgeable and provided friendly and professional care. The clinic was clean and quite nice and their pricing is also reasonable. Highly recommend.

Dr. Tahir and staff went over and above to help. I contacted them after my usual vet in the area didn’t have any availability to see my senior dog that they have been seeing for years. In our time of need
Dr. Tahir was able to help immediately and do surgery. They were very compassionate and reassuring throughout the process and after. We are so very thankful and now have a new Veterinarian!

Very professional people to deal with. Our vet was very informative, unlike many other vets who have shun us out. Not only was our vet doc A1! We have been with Lakeview animal hospital for many years and are very pleased with the professional service and tenderness they have shown towards Timbit.our baby. My partner and I moved to the area March 2021 so we needed to find a new doctor for our 3 cats.
We first took our little one in for her check up and shots and she was also experiencing an eye issue. The doctor was absolutely amazing with my little Luna. He was gentle, but thorough with his exam. He prescribed eye drops for her and within a week her eye issue was cleared up.

We recently had to take our Big Girl in for an ear infection. Again, the doctor was amazing and thorough with her exam. He even understood that we were on a tight budget and gave us a treatment within it. It’s been a day since we took her in and she is already acting like she is feeling better!

I’ve seen many vets in my life (with different pets) and this location is by far one of the top two places I recommend. The office and treatment rooms are exceptionally clean. And both times I’ve been there there hasn’t been many if any other clients waiting.

We will continue to take our cats here for their health appointments.: D

Today our little Poodle Cross Puppy was neutered. We have been to Lakeview Vet prior and it is a wonderful Clinic. The Staff is very friendly and Dr. Tahir explains everything and is very knowledgable & thorough in his examinations & procedures. Fair costs & Excellent Care. Great Location! I highly recommend Lakeview Vet!

Absolutely phenomenal service! Cannot imagine ever bringing my fur babies anywhere else now. So glad I found them today. Dr. Sheikh and his team are amazing and oh so caring. When you leave your fur babies in their care for what ever reason you can rest assure that they are receiving the absolute best care

Updating our review, our pets have been seeing Dr. Sheikh for 2 years now and I'm still a very happy client! We were there yesterday with our new puppy, she had her last set of vaccinations and Dr. Sheikh was so kind, patient and gentle with her. Willow (new pup) didn't want to leave and I had to carry her out haha!

I brought my cat there for an emergency and couldn't speak higher about the quality of care he received there! The vet was so good with him and with making sure I knew everything that was happening and my options! The vet techs and staff were so friendly and helpful! They all really showed him and I so much kindness! I'm so very appreciative of them and the level and quality of care he received!

I took my dog in today to get something checked out. It was his first time at this clinic and the reception was very friendly. The vet assessed the issue and we were able to schedule the surgery same day. They got it done in a timely manner and I was charged a lot less than I was expecting. Thank you Lakeview animal hospital for making our experience great, I’ll be using this vet again for sure.

As a family, we feel very lucky to have Dr. Tahir as our cat, Mavi's doctor. Dr. Tahir is so caring. He explains everything in detail and he is very professional. He always goes above and beyond. The staff are welcoming, knowledgeable and they try to do everything to make sure not only our cat is well looked after, but that we are educated about her health. From the very beginning, this clinic made our pet feel safe and secure and provided the services we needed at a reasonable cost. Highly Recommended.

Thank you so much to Dr Tahir and his staff for taking wonderful care of Kaiya, our previous Aussie mix puppy who had an emergency episode several days ago.
Dr Tahir was not only respectful, professional, but he was kind, warm, compassionate and understanding in our time of need. We were extremely worried for our puppy, especially not knowing all the facts or what was happening to her, but Dr Tahir took care and time in explaining his diagnosis and provided valuable explanations and feedback. We live far north east of Edmonton to see him and we will do it again.

We took our approx. 4 month old Frenchie here for a respiratory infection.
The vet was nice and our Frenchie was diagnosed with an infection requiring antibiotics. The antibiotics the vet prescribed are in liquid form due to the small size of the pup.
The vet said they only had enough antibiotic in stock to last until Saturday so we said we would come pick up more on Saturday.
We live out of town so it’s kind of inconvenient to come back, but we understand this happens.

This is where their care, and compassion becomes unacceptable.
We return Saturday morning at 0800 (because the online website says they open at 0800).
Upon our arrival shortly after 8 the office is still closed.
We wait and about 0830, someone finally arrives to open the office.
They inform us they did not order the antibiotics and we now have to wait until Monday for them (antibiotics cannot be interrupted to be effective), not to mention, we are already back in the city so we want them today.

We ask them to send a prescription to G&E pharmacy so we can go pick them up immediately.
We’re than informed by Lakeview the veteranarian needs to complete a new prescription himself and he won’t be in until 0945 (even though they open at 0800).
We’re annoyed but have no choice but to wait because we need the prescription.
We finally get a new prescription and head to G&E.
It turns out G&E doesn’t carry the exact suspension but they have a similar one.
Just need the vet from Lakeview to modify the prescription.
The Vet at Lakeview refuses to modify it.
3 hours of waiting in the City, and no willingness to be accommodating.
So we call around and Guardian Vet has the exact suspension.
So now we have to go to a 3rd vet office, over a 4 hour span, simply because Lakeview forgot to put in an order for additional antibiotics.

This is not who I would want to care for my babies and we will not be returning.

I recently brought my 2 dogs to Lakeview Animal Hospital my one dog got neutered and teeth cleaned and my other dog got his teeth cleaned and a couple extractions Dr Tahir was outstanding and very professional Vet. Probably one of the Best Vets I ever went to before and the staff was excellent too. The service was outstanding and the pricing was half of what my regular vet was going to charge. I strongly recommend Lakeview Animal Hospital to anyone who is looking for a great Vet Clinic and excellent service

We had a wonderful experience here! First time bringing kitty to the vet (and he was not having it) and Dr Tahir was very patient with him. He told us what he was doing every step of the way and even brought us in to show us his chest xrays (he had kitty bronchitis). Deggs is on the mend now!

The best service from vet assistant to all vets. They are very professional, caring and reliable staff. The fees are affordable compared to all vet clinics in south edmonton- I have recommended them to friends and the feedback and experience are the same. WOW. Dr. Tahir (sp) and his staff are amazing! We had a mature shepherd spayed by him, and he went above and beyond. His receptionist is AMAZING. So friendly, professional and kind. Very pleased with our 1st time experience with this clinic today. Our pit bull developed a hematoma on her ear and had surgery for it 3 weeks ago at a different veterinary office. That surgery wound was about 70-80% healed when, in a matter of hours overnight last night, her ear swelled full of blood into a new hematoma. Great, back to square one.

The vet office we normally go to was not able to get her in for a few days, which is not ideal as it would give the hematoma time to get much worse. When I called Lakeview, they said bring her in right now and were able to get her in immediately! I was very impressed & relieved by this. Later today after her procedure was complete, the vet took the time to call me to let me know that all was well and recommended a particular medication to address the issue. Furthermore, the vet took photos of the incision before wrapping her head in a bandage, so that we would be able to see the work that he had done. Overall, we are thrilled with this experience. Prompt and quality service for a fair price. Looks like we've found our new vet.

Dr. Tahir is the one of the most caring and friendly doctors you’ll ever meet! I was recommended to take my bunny there by a family member, as she has malocclusion and was unable to eat because her teeth became too long. He went out of his way to help, and thanks to him she can eat again! (Eat you can see, she demolished that carrot!)

You are treated like family at Lakeview veterinarian, and I highly recommend this clinic and Dr. Tahir. The staff are also very kind and welcoming!

This clinic was amazing. My pup ate something he shouldn’t have and had a very severe reaction. These guys saved his life. Not only that, they ensured we were comfortable, offered us water, and constantly checked on us while we waited for our baby to pull through. They were so kind and good to us.

Lakeview is the only place I'll take my puppers. My one dog is agitated very easy and they make it a breeze to get him vaccinated and make me feel normal for having a crazy dog. They worked out a payment schedule for us due to my unemployment situation. Truly they are an exceptional vet. Would give 6 out 5 if possible.

Friendly staff and they work really quickly too! My pup had an issue, and I took her in on an emergency basis, they were able to squeeze me in even when the vet was busy and took such good care of her as well! 10/10 would recommend.

The staff is great brought my dog in for dental and it was an amazing price considering the amount of work that was needed. She had an infection as well so I'm glad that it was taken care of so quickly as I received a same day appointment. I would like to say thank you to the staff for all their help. We brought our new puppy reina in for some shots, we were treated so well that we decided to continue with Dr. Tahir. Recently we used this clinic to have her spayed at a reasonable price compared to other places I inquired at. Nice friendly environment thank you for taking care of our pet. We will definitely continue to come here.

I am so happy that i came to know this clinic. They are open late and prices were very reasonable. We called and we were booked in right away. The vet and staff. The clinic smells clean too.

Dr. Tahir and his team were great with Zorro. He'll have no problem returning for his next shots in a month. Very happy I found a vet so close to home too!

Dr Tahir was so polite with my two girls, one of them was nervous when she was on the table so we placed her on the floor and he kneel to her level to easy her nerves
He also recomendé better options to minimize costs and evasive procedures that could be used as a last option
I love his excelente demeanour to our girls and to us taking the time to explain everything.

The front desk staff starting with Amanda are so polite and accommodating “sorry I don’t know all their names”

We recommend this clinic to several people and brought two of them today and will keep on doing so.

Is a pleasure dealing with them

Lady working the front lead me on a wild goose chase for dog food that you can I guess only get from the vet. 5 stores later I couldnt find the dog food where she told me to go so I called back and got another lady who said you can only get it from vets. I asked to order it in and she said it would take a 3 days! 7 days later I still dont have it. Oh well they lost my business!

Wow! Let me just start off by saying this place is amazing, the staff and the building! I came here a couple years ago and was not satisfied at all. They had poor management and because of that all the clinical activities were lethargic (Judging by the older reviews i feel like other people had the same experience). I heard from a friend that they recently re-opened the place under new management in September and was skeptical at first; but since I lived around the area I brought my dog in for his physical and was I amazed! Dr Tahir and his staff are extremely caring and made my bulldog extremely comfortable in the clinic. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who's contemplating weather to bring their pet in based on previous reviews.
