Prescreening was quick and painless. Day of surgery I arrived at 930 am and over the next 4 hours I was greeted from kind professionals who handled the day with such care and ease that I felt very reassured by the time I was in the operating chair.
Dr. Riyas was competent, fast and worked with care through out the procedure. There was little to no sensation/pain throughout the process, although I was feeling some sensation during the second eye, I was able to talk with Dr. Riyas and he was able to calm the nerves/ anxiety and the rest of the process was over in a flash.
I was in the operating room for maybe 10 mins total.
I opted for standard Lasik without extended coverage (it's hard out here folks) 1190$ per eye w/ the purchase of the 3 eye drops needed for after care, the total came to 2470$ (cheaper than they quoted me)
Vision was blurry immediately after surgery, but manageable.
Discomfort after surgery felt akin to having an eyelash stuck in your eye x2, I would recommend eating, then sleeping for as long as possible.
Any itchy eye moments are easily remedied with the hydrating eyedrops.
By 6 hours hours after surgery I could tell I had better vision than before surgery and by the next morning it was like my eyes were still settling but I could see clearly.
My Post Op screening was quick and I was happy to find out that I was now seeing better than 20/20 not even 24 hours after surgery.

I personally will continue to wear my protective glasses until a month after surgery, especially at night as I tend to rub my eyes in my sleep and that is extremely advised against after Lasik surgery.

Only reason this review isn't 5 stars is that when I was booking, they didn't mention that their clinic/ operating room in city center is under renovation and that I would have to get my procedure done at a King Lasik location on the south side. They also were unable to pin down an arrival time for me until a week before surgery day. All that made it very frustrating trying to arrange rides as I'm someone who likes to have notice well in advance and a plan set when asking others to assist in my after care.

If you're considering it and have the means to pay for this, do not hesitate any longer. Go talk with someone at Lasik md and get your free prescreening and quote done.

Very friendly staff and the service was exceptional! I had the best experience with Velma, she was going above and beyond during my post care. She clarified all my questions and had clear instructions about the care of my eyes. I could see how much she cared for the patients. Highly recommend! Will recommend to friends and family!

Very professional yet comfortable experience. All the staff was very friendly and made sure all information was covered and understood.

Dr Dorey was very thorough and let me know what was happening during the whole procedure, which only took 10 minutes

Messed up my medical charts that they sent to the surgery clinic so my disability was not appropriately accommodated for (despite my explicit requests during consultation). This resulted in a truly awful surgery experience. I was too tired/nervous the morning of my surgery to confirm they had my records correct (also because why should I have to confirm?) so I received “care” that left me in incredible pain and emotional distress, only to be told the next day that if they had HAD my full chart, I would have been handled according to an existing protocol they have in place and adhered to all my requested accommodations, which would have drastically improved my surgery experience. I am fairly convinced the surgical complications I experienced were due to this mistake. The surgery seems to have worked, and most of the staff were lovely to interact with, but keep your eye out the whole time for billing errors (I had to correct some) and make sure you advocate for yourself frequently and loudly.

It's been 23 years I'm wearing glasses and each year the number keeps increasing which was not okay. Had some suggestions from people who had done and with their experience, got it done. Got consultation and favourable date for surgery. All is good now to see how bright the colours are in the nature. Thank you

Amazing staff, the surgeon was so great at what he did, and his bedside manner is the best I ever experienced. I had a little pain for a few hours after the numbing wore off but it’s been two days now, my sight is 20/20 and I feel great.

Got my LASIK surgery done 2 days ago and I can’t put into words how happy I am, I urge anyone that has vision as bad as I did to come to this place and see if you’re a candidate, Everyone I spoke to was very professional and answered all my questions, incredible staff and quite friendly too, 2 people that come to mind that I’m extra grateful for are, My surgeon Dr. Ghislain who is incredibly talented. And amber who did my post surgery follow up care the next day, excellent people!

Get it done at this place I promise you won’t regret it!

This is my one year review. I am glad to report my eye sight is perfect! The surgery was quick and recovery was nice and easy! Velma has gone above and beyond my expectations for the check ups. She answered all my questions with ease and has left me feeling great about my choice to get Lasik done. I do experience a little dryness in the eyes after a long day however that is easily fixed with hydrasense eyedrops twice daily. Being free from glasses/contacts has been amazing this last year! I would highly recommend Lasik and Velma to any one who chooses to get this done!

Since I’ve started coming here I’ve always felt heard and welcomed! Sylvester and Yamen is the best explained everything to me and gave me an option while Yamen made sure I was comfortable during my visit and take care of my eyes. Thanks for the great experience!

Lasik MD provided such a welcoming experience. All the staff was able to thoroughly answer any of my questions and concerns, and put lightness on the situation even though I was nervous for the surgery. Everything was done very smoothly and I felt involved through the entire process.

Velma was particularly welcoming. She was with me every step of the way and ensured that I was well taken care of. Even though I’ve had to do come in multiple times due to my high prescription, none of it felt like a chore because of Velma.

All in all I definitely recommend Lasik MD if you’re considering the operation. No stone is left unturned there and you’re in safe hands!

The lasik md staff’s are very accommodating and easy to talk to. Also Velma Veloria, is very helpful to us siblings, she gave our prescriptions to shoppers nearby.

The staff were amazing from consult to follow-up! I had my consult with Lisa, and didn’t have many questions left unanswered. Throughout my day in the clinic, she checked in multiple times to make sure I was ok and that I didn’t have any questions. Amber did my pre-op checks and was amazing as well. Very personable and genuinely interested in making sure you are having as easy a time as you can! Very friendly staff throughout the clinic and they definitely helped calm my nerves on the day of. The surgeon who completed my operation was also super friendly and definitely made me feel at ease with my decision to get Lasik. He explained everything that would happen and during the surgery kept my mind off of what was happening by asking me some questions about my job/work etc. At my follow-up appointment I was met with the same friendliness and compassion as the consult/operation day. Cannot say enough good things about the clinic and staff.

As for the surgery, I could see semi-clearly that night, and improved fully by my follow-up the next day! The discomfort following surgery I easily slept through and when I woke up later that evening, felt no discomfort - maybe a little irritation in the eyes. Followed Ambers advice for the night of, and had no issues. For the part that I was most worried about pre-op, I felt like it breezed by with how everything was handled by the staff at the clinic.

I had my lasik surgery two weeks ago and I still couldn’t believe that I overcome my fear. I was so nervous on that day but the staff and Dr. Dorey kept talking to me the entire procedure and that made me calm down. Thank you so much Dr. Dorey and to all of your amazing staff. ️?

Lasik MD has been phenomenal since day 1. They answered any concerns I had and made sure I was prepared and very comfortable leading up to my surgery day. Every single staff member was very friendly and professional.

The staff here is pretty great, I really appreciated that they went out of their way to make you feel comfortable during the procedure. The surgeon was professional and ensured I was comfortable.

Notes: I wasn’t expecting the smell during the procedure, it wasn’t very pleasant. The first eye wasn’t painful at all, however the second eye was uncomfortable.

It would have been nice to have a loved one in the room with you, but the staff did just a great job to!

Needed to get eye surgery to get into policing and LASIK MD was awesome! Did my virtual consultation and then scheduled a day to come in for my scans and got surgery the same day. My eyes are doing fantastic now and it’s only been a day since my surgery! They are very friendly and the whole process was very good. Staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

Almost two years since having Lasik surgery and my eyes are as clear as ever.

Very excited that I got this done after many years of wearing glasses and the headaches that come with it, they were very understanding of all my needs and answered all my questions. Very knowledgeable people. Couldn't be more thankful and happy that I chose this place. Great friendly people and environment all away around from front desk to surgeon each and everyone involved was so pleasant to deal with.

The entire staff at LASIK MD (City Centre Mall) was amazing and made me feel very comfortable and prepared from start to finish. Dr. Kassiri did my surgery and I was truly impressed by his professionalism and kindness. He talked me though his steps and made me feel very calm. Thank you! I would also like to give a special shout out to Velma Veloria (Opthalmic Tech) for her patience and taking the extra time to educate me on the entire process.

After 15 years of using glasses, this surgery changed my life completely. I'm grateful for all the services at LASIK MD at the City Center. The results were terrific, and I could see clearly after 24h of the surgery. The team is very friendly and supportive, and I want to thank Velma and Dr. Dorey for their kindness and support. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to get rid of their glasses.

I've been using glasses since I was 10 years old and for the first time in 20 years, I don't need to wear glasses nor contacts anymore. Staff at Lasik MD are really helpful and exceptional from the front desk to the surgeon especially Ms. Velma Veloria, she is very friendly, polite and efficient and so fast in responding whenever I have questions especially after my post surgery. Amazing staffs and doctors at Lasik MD! When I went to my first consultation prior to surgery, I met 2 eye care professionals and a consultant who took care of my eye exams and payment details. They were all very kind and professional. On the day of my surgery, I met more amazing staffs who made me felt welcome and relax before my surgery. They were a huge help when I had questions, and they kept my sister and I feel more reassuring, calm, and less nervous before the surgery. Dr. Boudreault was my laser eye surgeon. He was great and made sure I know what to expect during the surgery, and did it swiftly and painlessly. I think he was an amazing doctor!

I do have a hearing disability as well so I am not able hear properly as most people. They were all very kind and understanding! I was very grateful when they put in extra care to explain everything to me in detail slowly, so that I don't miss anything.

I want to thank the following staffs who I got to know throughout this experience. I didn't catch everyone's name, but I wanted to thank Victoria W, Velma V, Yamen A, Dan, and Sarah, and a few more staffs I didn't get their name! They were all so amazing! The team at Lasik MD Edmonton downtown are all amazing. The front desk ladies are so friendly.
All the staff are helpful and polite especially Yamen. I had a great experience pre and post surgery. They try their best to make you most comfortable and answers all your questions and concerns patiently. Yamen went extra and beyond to eliminate any concerns that I had before the surgery. Very disappointed. No mention that my near vision would be greatly reduced if I had the lasik Procedure done at my initial consultation. It was mentioned on my surgery day just prior to surgery. Pretty big surprise leaving no time to do ay kind of risk/reward comparison. Lost a full day's pay plus my time. No big deal in these trying times. Apoligies do not pay bills!

I thank Ms. Velma Veloria for the knowleged she shared with me. SHe gave me options before doing the Lasik cause my prescriptions are not that bad to begin with. Wow is my first thought after my initial visit at LASIK MD City Center, I was warmly greeted by Taryn as I walked in for my appointment. Sarah took me into the eye testing area and explained in detail of the series of testing that would be performed on my eyes, as the tests were performed Sarah explained what test was being done and if I had any questions before and after each test was completed. I was then introduced to Amber who was extremely professional and also performed some more testing on my eyes and asked what my expectations were with LASIK eye surgery, Amber also explained what the next steps were prior to my next appointment and eye surgery.
Taryn completed my first appointment by asking if I had any questions about my appointment tests and then she went over the financial information based on my eye surgery requirements.
My purpose in writing this review is that I wanted to share how professional and caring Taryn, Sarah and Amber and the rest of the LASIK MD staff treated me.

I had an excellent experience here. All of the staff were helpful and friendly and they truly made my experience as good as it was. Velma V, Taryn S, and Tyrisha B made it extra amazing for me - Thank you ladies for taking such good care of me!

I have to say that my experience with Lasik MD (Down Town) was amazing. The staff there where very informative every step of the way, as well as very kind and personable. I have to say a huge thank you to Velma Veloria, who had gone over and above for me, apparently I am allergic to the preservatives in the eye drops and she noticed it right away! She gave me some other ones to use, but also came to shoppers with me to show me what to buy in the future, which she certainly did not have to do! I would recommend the down town location to anyone of my friends or family. Thank you all for making the process of being able to see again without glasses or contact so calming & pleasant.

My son had eye surgery a week ago. The procedure really goes well, they were very thorough and exceptionally good with everything. My son has now 20/20 vision and no longer wears eyeglass & lens. Special shout-out to Ms. Velma V, who did the initial eye examination for my son, she was so pleasant and explains the procedure very well and leaves me with no questions unanswered. After 20+ years of wearing glasses I opted to get this surgery, and I do not regret it.

Day 2 out of surgery I am seeing 20/20, I am able to do things I've never been able to before and can finally enjoy the sports and activities I love. No more being held back, and I fully encourage anyone interested to get a consultatioj.

The staff involved in the process were all very lovely. I really enjoyed Victoria’s bubbly personality and vitas stern yet gentle manner. Dr. Kam kassiri went through the surgery calmly and confidently which I really appreciated. Yemen answered all my questions post surgery and we had a pleasant side conversation about Messi and Ronaldo. Overall the experience was a 5/5

My experience at LASIK MD at Edmonton City Centre was amazing, they were so friendly and answered all of my questions about the procedure. The procedure was quick and Dr. Boudrealt was very reassuring and calming throughout the procedure.

I got my Lasik surgery with Lasik MD. I got my appointment real smooth. The ladies from front desk, technicians and all staff were very friendly. Special mention to Velma that walk me through everything to make sure that I got the correct information. Also, Victoria for explaining everthing regarding Post Surgery and payment plan. There’s a little hiccup in my end, but she is patiently waiting to process our transaction. Kudos to this team!

I had LASIK done 7 years ago and it was one of the best decisions I have ever made in my life. I love coming to this LASIK location for my bi-annual eye check-up, the service is always friendly! I was disappointed that they didn’t have cookies today but I completely understand due to COVID. However I did such a good job on my eye exam that the lady was able to sneak me some cookies!
