The food is really good. Not leaving any sort of fat in your mouth, it's not full of sugar.

I tried the dauphinoise, which is with comte and brie, very easy to make a mess in taste and fat level, was just spit on.

If you don't know a good small little place with good food, don't hesitate, give it a try.

It may be premature to call this area of marda loop the French quarter but it is well on its way to being so as many of the shops surrounding it are also French owned.

Le Comptoir is such a chic and charming spot that feels very authenticity French. All of the food looked amazing, I got the pain au chocolate, and it was outstanding. You could taste all of the layers of butter and see how airy the pastry was. I also got a chia latte which was amazing and my friend got “the best cappuccino in her life”.

We also saw some people get the soup and grilled cheese which looked amazing, and they confirmed it was.

I will be going back here again for sure.

Parking isn’t great at the moment with construction. There is limited outdoor feed patio seating only.

I found a single slice of quiche of this size at ~$14 quite pricey for what you get. The filling did taste good, but the crust was slightly burnt and I just didn’t feel satisfied. I understand that they might be unable to negotiate the price with the cost of ingredients and such these days.

The patio is very nice with its fireplace and cozy aesthetic. Despite few staff members and a busy line, they were trying their best, and kept a positive attitude—which I appreciate.

Super cute spot. Reminded me of being back in Europe. Loved the seating outside. The only downside is they seemed a little understaffed. The server forgot my order but was super sweet and apologetic about it. But regardless I would definitely go back again.

While in Calgary last year, I visited a few times Le Comptoir by François. Having known François from Montreal as a very successful and sought after interior designer with a keen eye for beauty and balance, who is also a talented trained chef, I was eager to experience Le Comptoir and taste some of his amazing creations. I cannot describe in words how I felt when I was there. From the flawless rich and sophisticated French design of the boutique and terrace, to the mouth watering culinary creations, the friendly staff, the Parisian music, I was mesmerized and felt transported to this little cozy corner in Paris that I never wanted to leave. The whole experience captured my body and soul. It is a taste of Paris in Western Canada, not to be missed and a must to be experienced. I will be travelling again to Calgary in June, from Montreal, and I know my first stop will be at Le Comptoir. The only thing I will have to figure out is how to bring some of those signature quiches and pastries back home. Stay tuned for pictures from my upcoming June visit!

Great little hidden gem! We only had coffee this time, which was excellent. Their quiche looked phenomenal, will definitely try next time!

Very cute place and very tasty food. Reminds us of Paris when we visited very recently.
Had a croissant and Pain au chocolat and Rugelach. All very nice!

This manager introduced himself to me and said his name was Francois but then ignored me the rest of my time at the cafe. I feel like more attention was necessary and he did not meet my needs. I’m upset.

I will start off by saying I was very underwhelmed. The actual cafe looks wise, is beautiful. Very cutesy, love the outdoor sitting, overall fun location for the summer. However, when it comes down to the food I was pretty disappointed. The lattes were good, comparable to most lattes you’ll find in the city. The food though, was lacking. Starting off with the “gourmet” grilled cheese, it was overly crunchy sourdough (?) bread with barely any cheese, and dried parsley thrown on top with micro greens. That was it. Not sure throwing a handful of weeds on a grilled cheese makes it gourmet, but hey, i’m no chef. The babka was good, not $6 good though. Another important note, would be that there were bugs flying around and onto the food. Because the doors to the cafe are open, bugs naturally come in, but the un covered food then had bugs landing on it. This is severely unappetizing and honestly just gross. The service was unfortunately poor, took 5 minutes for the lattes to get to our table (standard) but another 20 to bring out our food which were already in the display case, just needed to be warmed up. So if you’re coming here, ask for everything to go and they will give it to you right away. It was nice to try once, but I can assure you I will not be going back.

The place has a huge amount of charm, the food has a huge amount of flavour, and the coffee is fantastic.

This is such an elegant café nestled in Marda Loop. We had a great time and sampled the most delicious quiches!

Badkas, espresso, and chickpea croissant sandwich were INCREDIBLE. Such a beautiful add to Calgary and definitely brings a touch of French to the city

Best outdoor, all-season patio (with actual fireplace!), and delicious quiche, croissants, pan au chocolat, salades. A real asset to 34th Ave in Marda Loop. The only thing they're missing are safe, lockable bike parking.

I am so grateful to have this amazing gem of a place right around the corner! Francois' mac and cheese, biscotti, creme brulee, quiches and veggie burgers are delicious. Employees and Francois are absolutely delightful, and I always look forward to my next visit! Thank you Francois and the team, you're doing an incredible job!

Hidden Gem in Mardaloop… Next to this Cute little alley with color organized yarn stores, cute salon and flowerstore, I had the best and most fragrant london fog in the city for me. Oh did I mention lots of pillows to chill and real firewood for extra coziness on the patio “Brilliant Concept”!

Loved this cute little spot! Intimate, cozy, amazing service, and the most delicious food.

Grab a croissant and coffee, and enjoy it in front of the fire! Highly recommend!

There's also a cute little alleyway of neat little shops to check out.

Quel joli resto ! Le personnel est super sympa.
Ma seule critique est qu’il n’y a pas de croissants végétaliens. (Commets-je un sacrilège?)

The atmosphere of Le Comptoir is warm and inviting, the smell of freshly-baked croissants fills the air. You will leave wanting more!

Good coffee. Friendly staff. And, although the patio is small, it has an abundance of ambience

Frank has it going on. You need to go and find out for yourself.
Vegans will Love it, but do not bring Cash. NOT Accepted. Ok.
But Cash is King. Wahhoo.
Marda Loop Rocks as usual.
