The whole staff at la Germain here in Calgary is beyond incredible. I stay here quite often and I consider it a second home. Brahim in the front is an absolute professional. His level of service is unmatched and it shows amongst the staff. There's not another hotel that I would recommend above this hotel. Whether it's for a business trip or a staycation le Germain Calgary is top class.

I would like to thank the whole staff for making me feel like family every time I'm there. I now only stay at Le Germain hotels when I travel and that is due to the exceptional service and experience I have every time I stay at this one in Calgary.

If you like exceptional five star service, great rooms and are looking for the best value and experience. There is no better place than this hotel.

The room and the location are perfect. But, the service is not really great because the receptionist is a bit rude and easily get annoyed when we ask about recommendations and some of the services inside the hotel. Need a big improvement on that!

Loved the hotel and its location and my view. It's expensive but with the deal I got.it was well worth it.
I especially loved how they provided water for all the guests. That was an added bonus that I had never seen anywhere else.
Lastly, their showers and amazing bathrobes.enough said.

Stayed in a classic king room for two nights - rooms are quite dark, even with lights on; little natural light; duvet too heavy for summer; really noisy - can hear all outside traffic, sirens; noisy thermostat clicking all night long; large oversized shower head doesn’t have enough water to fill shower head fully nor pressure to spray well, so it’s a weak shower; privacy doors for washroom and toilet don’t close fully; damaged walls obvious from the sliding doors…. Poor design. Also, both my husband and I woke up with itchy rashes…? Considering the cost, there are nicer hotels for downtown Calgary- I’d look further before booking here.

So, It's a 4-star hotel but the bed is full of bedbugs that won't let you sleep At all! Get ready for hives and bad bad skin rash. However Front desk service is good Paulo is the guy to go. He is so helpful. Their room looks clean but not at all clean.

The valet parking is great. Getting downtown is a chore during daytime hours. Lots of one way, closed, etc streets. Finding the valet door was an adventure. But Erwin was a great valet. He then went above and beyond and helped us to our room and showed is around. Very clean and spacious room.

We came in late and asked if the restaurant was still open. They said they were but you could tell they just wanted to go home cuz the food was quickly thrown together with no care. If you didn’t feel like doing them job properly they never should have sat us and we would have went somewhere else and gotten decent service and food. We purchased a suite because we had one the last time we stayed (which was beautiful). They room they gave us was large but not the same feel. The second night the heat didn’t work. When I mentioned this to the lady at the check out desk she did apologize but did nothing. Later I emailed the manager about the heat. He was very polite and said he would give us one nights stay but in a lesser room. I just don’t think that’s reasonable because we had NO HEAT in NOVEMBER in a suite we paid good money for and to give us a room that is lesser is an insult. If they would have given us the same room we would have booked more that just the one night so they would also be making money from us again. We will not be staying or recommending this hotel to our out of town clients again.

Decent hotel. Unfortunately the parking ruined our entire experience. We opted for self parking since it was cheaper than valet for our time duration, and we had already self parked. ($34 versus $45).

We also had some family visit us. The parking payment system was completely down, and multiple other cars couldn’t get out. After trying for almost 30 minutes, the front desk - after asking if we had cash instead of card let our family let of the parking lot.

In the morning we were again unable to get out of the parking lot (we asked if it was fixed and they said it should be ok), and were told we had to pay $45 to get out even though we didn’t go with valet parking, even though it was their parking systems issue. Eventually they agreed to charge us $34 instead to let our trapped car out. This ruined our experience.

Have stayed a few times with Le Germains and have consistently had great experiences. Rooms are well designed with great ambiance. Staff are friendly and always professional and helpful with any questions.

Had to struggle to find parking, unless u need to be in downtown, just remain away from the place. Though the room was good but just it's location makes it bad experience!

It sadly did not live up to our expectations. A few things of note were that although the room was clean and the bed comfy, the sound throughout the hotel really carried. We had guests walking down the hall and talking outside our room fairly consistently until about 4am making sleep difficult. Also, for it being a fairly expensive hotel to start with, unfortunately some of the extra costs really didn’t feel very worth it. The valet was quite expensive but required as we were driving a car and didn’t want to park blocks away, and the breakfast was a steep price for what it was (croissant, a hard boiled egg, a bit of fruit). We also ended up waiting along with many others the next morning for about 30 minutes for our car to be valeted, we honestly would have preferred to walk and get it ourselves! Lastly, it was a little bit sad that my husband and I stayed here the night of our wedding and even though we came still dressed up to check-in the staff did not acknowledge us with a congratulations or any other comments—not the end of the world but I think we just expected more out of what is supposed to be a nicer hotel.

Probably the nicest hotel in Calgary. Located right central downtown. These are probably the most modern fancy rooms I've ever been too in Canada. You use your key card to turn on the lights which is a cool feature. They have a Bluetooth alarm clock with a great speaker and it's retro and cute. THE BEST PILLOWS I HAVE EVER USED IN MY LIFE! The bathrooms are incredible. The tub with the waterfall from the ceiling feature is a neat touch. Absolutely loved it. Massive modern his and hers sinks. Really amazing seperate shower aswell. The walk in closet is really big. With housecoats, umbrellas ect. The amenities here is spot on. All the furniture in our suite were lovely. It feels more like an upscale apartment rather a hotel which I love! The gym has a spectacular view of downtown with ceiling to floor windows. A MUST STAY! Only thing that would make it better is access to the balcony for things other than private events and a pool lol

Pretty nice place but if you look real close at your room it is not that clean. Duvet cover was stained but didnt see cause it was tucked under the mattress. Placed my black jacket on the closet furniture and when i picked it up it was white with dust. Also the maid woke us up by coming into the room early morning and saying whoops sorry. We just wanted a lay in the morning but that was disrupted.

I loved staying here. The staff were great. The room is nice and it was clean. I wished hotels didn't have such fragrant products though. They are always too strong and flowery. Would be nice if there was something more unisex. Also, it would be nice if the staff would replace items used like tea bags so we wouldn't have to call and wait. It happened twice. Forgot to add, worst blind and lighting system I've ever used. It's just a pain in the.

Attended for an alumni event. Room was very lovely but very warm for an August evening. Didn't try the room personally but my co worker did and said it was good. Wasn't enough water provided as it ran out quickly and didn't get refilled. Odd that there was no bathroom on the third floor where the event was located. Can't say I'd book an event here. But it was a lovely evening.

Staff is very helpful and always looking to assist you in any of your requests. Very modern suites [Signature King] with beautiful views of Calgary. Right next to the Calgary Tower and the strip. This is the nicest hotel I've stayed in anywhere in the US or Canada. Beautiful, modern room! Charcut is a great place to have a drink or meal. Puts the overpriced hotel across the street to shame!

Lets start with staff - upon check-in I ran into a bit of an issue (my own fault) and the staff was super friendly and extreemly helpful. The room was soo amazing and I will make this hotel my primary option if I am visiting Calgary again - it was also close to everything. Shoutout to the bartender at the restaurant, he was very welcoming!

This hotel is absolutely amazing! Best beds and bedding which means unbelievable sleeps! The staff are wonderful and always go that extra step! We love staying here when we stay in Calgary! I would highly recommend this hotel!

The hotel itself is nice and has some higher end finishes.at first glance, the room is nice. Bedding is soft (mattresses not so much). Spa was amazing- nice to have it on-site but be sure to book in advance!

Once we settled into our 2 queen room, we noticed that the headboard wasn't fastened to the wall so any time one of us leaned back (like you do when you're watching tv) the headboard would bang against the wall. Also, the lamps that were attached to the head board were so loosely secured that I thought the light fixture was falling when I first went to adjust it.

If you like privacy while you're in the bathroom- you won't love the frosted glass door on the "water closet" or the barn door style door tot he bathroom itself- they look neat, but not so practical.

We were a bit disappointed that breakfast has been discontinued (not sure if it's due to covid or just a change in policy) especially staying downtown on a long weekend- there aren't a lot of quick, easy breakfast options and it was cold AF so walking to find something wasn't great.

Hotel staff weren't overly engaged/ helpful, other than the person that checked me in/ out, I don't think a single employee said hello or acknowledged me. Honestly, I had far better hospitality at the Homewood at the airport a month ago.

Overall- it was an average hotel with a higher-end price tag. I recommend the Hyatt a few blocks away (it also has a spa run by the same company) the quality of the rooms was better and the staff were friendlier also.

I have never stayed at a nicer hotel. The staff was amazing, friendly and always ready to help with anything I needed. The room was beautiful. We ordered breakfast to be brought to our room and if you partake in this service you will not be disappointed.

Room looked nice but everything in it was cheap and the entire room was very dark with minimal lighting. Mold growth in the bathroom (due to lack of ventilation) paint chipped everywhere, some repairs were made but looked to be a landlord special. When I booked online and selected the breakfast option I thought it would be a nice breakfast from Charbar down stairs (as it was almost $30!) but when I checked in they showed me a picture of the breakfast, which looked like something a five year old would pack for school lunch. When we got our breakfast the next morning it was even more disappointing, no water, no big muffin like the picture, just some stale one that I could only take one bite of, a yogurt cup from the grocery store with a full cup of granola the same size as the yogurt (so you can't mix the two as your supposed to) a mandarin orange, and a tiny bottle of grapefruit juice which I (like most people) cannot drink because I am on medication (the picture had orange juice which I would have been fine with). Bartender and valet were amazing, so I had to give them an additional star, front desk wasn't great, did not seem happy to be there at all (I dont blame him). Overall it seems like the owners and management couldn't give two craps about the place, and for the price you are much better going to any one of their competitors, I know I will be in the future. Even a $59 hi way special motel has a proper breakfast, out of all the hotels I've been to in all different price ranges I've never felt ripped off till now. Do not be fooled by the nice looking exterior.

From the minute you walk in the door the staff is absolutely of the highest quality. The accommodations are trendy well put together, everything you would expect from a top end establishment.

If your goal is quality and top-shelf service. Le Germain is the place for you. They took care of everything for us right from transportation to dinner reservations. Room service for breakfast in the morning was impeccable. The location is perfect. I honestly can't list one downfall. This is our new go to spot hands down.

Absolutely recommended LeGermain for your next trip to YYC, or such as in our case a date night.

We once again stayed at LeGermain.

As per usual the staff were top shelf. The level of professionalism and genuine courtesy is something we have come to expect with every stay. They did not disappoint!

If you are staying in the downtown core. This is the place for you.

We had a $700 honey moon sweet. The phone wasn’t working, a couch was horrible. And it was a cheap wine. Also no breakfast included. We’re disappointed, for this much money. Not recommend this hotel.

My husband and I were there on Sep 17,2021 for 2 nights in a room the classic king. The weather of the room was too cold so I called to reception, more than 3 times someone came to my room for changed whether to hot but he couldn't at the last he brought heater for us. When I turned on the heater, it had loud noise and after a few minutes All electrical appliances in the room were turned off and when I turned off the heater, the weather was too cold. The other things about parking, I had to park in level 3 then I was walking in parking to level 4 for took a elevator, the parking was circle and when the other cars moved up the parking lot they couldn't see us and this is so dangerous. We had so problems in this hotel.
In the morning we went to restaurant for breakfast but they said due to corona virus it was closed, we ate breakfast in the out the hotel. Then I backed to hotel the reception said it was open just for dinner, I don't understand the covid19 is just in the morning?
After that we prepared for dinner but I surprised because Someone had booked the whole restaurant privately so we had to go to out of the hotel because this hotel had just 1 main restaurant and this is not fair,

I had a bad stay in this hotel and I don't recommend this hotel to any one

We have stayed at Le Germain over the years when we are in Calgary and the experience has always been wonderful. Great to just drop off the car for valet parking and be able to wander downtown. Everyone we encountered was so friendly and made our stay so effortless. Rooms are really well equipped, beds so comfy and breakfast was yummy!

Our 'getaway' hotel in our own city. Since its opening, my wife and I have stayed at Le Germain whenever we want to escape without escaping the city. The decor, amenities, location to amazing dining, and the hotel staff themselves will always bring us back!

Nice location, and easy to find, since it's right across from Calgary Tower. The room was alright, could have been cleaner. The amenities were lacking - they had no carry-on size shampoo and conditioner, only large dispensers that were chained to the showers.

Everything about our stay was just ok. Not really worth the high price point of this hotel.

The treatment of the front desk left a sour taste from our visit. We were greeted by the front desk staff wear his mask on his chin (why bother wearing a chin diaper?). He was standoffish and made us feel like gum on his soles from the look he gave us. Perhaps it was because we looked young and I was holding a stuffed squishmallow gift.

I expect the service to be a little more refined for the prices this hotel charges.

Great location. Staff were friendly and the hotel room exceeded expectations. My only real grievance was that the AC in the room wasn’t working properly despite maintenance coming twice to try and fix it. Ended up having 4 very warm nights that were quite unpleasant!

I loved this hotel! I asked to have a hypoallergenic room and that is exactly what I got. Most hotels don't bother, even when they are high priced. In my opinion that alone sets this one apart from all others. The room was lovely, comfortable and felt like home. I slept well. The price was fair. The staff were pleasant. Check-in and check-out were quick and easy. I have nothing but the best things to say about this hotel and I will stay here next time I come to Calgary.

Honestly I don’t usually write reviews like this but I was so disappointed in this hotel. We usually stay at the Hyatt DT Calg as their rates are more reasonable. But we decided to stay in a soaker tub suite. The tub leaked through the wall in to the carpet on the other side and the water was bright yellow when we first ran the tub. To charge almost $350 per night and more - we shouldn’t have had these issues when across the road the hotel is very comparable at less than $200/night. I’m also disappointed to see the bill after and was told we’d receive 20% off. But I had booked it at 10% off by signing up for deals. So the hotel only gave an additional 10%. Unfortunately this hotel has lost our business. Unreasonable rates for the rooms really.

Very over priced for what you are getting. The underground parking is honestly terrible! Have to drive forever to find a spot everything is reserved. The lighting in the rooms is very inefficient.
Random buttons turn on random lights. For the price way more amenities should be included. The beds are comfy and so are the pillows. Very unfriendly room for kids.

Man at the front desk, I believe his name was Gor, was amazing in helping us during our stay. The hotel was clean, modern, great beds, hall of fame shower, great patio, and amazing location. Our server on the patio was one of the best I’ve ever had. Can’t go wrong with this place.

The only good thing about this stay was the location. We arrived and they had no records of our reservation and as we were being sent away to go “figure it out” by ourselves which would’ve taken 2 hours at 8: 30-9pm at night to get in contact with our bookings agent luckily a manager came to help us. Upgraded our room to a king which was great, but the room itself is so dim with barely any light source. The blinds don’t help as we faced a building so hardly any natural light comes through. Was told our damage deposit return is $200 only received $137 and told we drank two cans from the mini bar which was a lie because we don’t drink pop and the prices are insane. Just seems scammy with all the hidden fees, lies about our damage deposit and mini bar usage. Definitely won’t be returning or using hotels at all for a long time.

Le bon: L'endroit est magnifique et les champs avec les animaux c'est super. Certains employés sont exceptionels. Le spa est bien.
Le moins bon: Tout le reste. La nourriture des restaurants étaient fade et non inspirée. Des chips maison moux, c'est pas bon. Nous avions une chambre Loft, c'est supposé être plus grand. Il y a tellement de meubles c'est opressant et difficile de bien circuler. Le mur de la salle de bain a tellement de "craques" ça donne très peu d'intimité et l'interrupteur est tellement mal foutu. Il faut toujours le chercher au bout de la salle de bain. Les oreillers n'étaient pas confortables. À cause de covid (zone orange) c'est très difficile d'avoir un service de nettoyage au chambre. Il faut garantir ne pas aller à sa chambre pendant près d'une demie journée. Et la collecte des ordure dans le corridor se fait au plus une fois par 24h, même si on m'avait affirmer qu'on "pasait tout le temps". Le steamer pour "repasser" les vêtements ne valait rien.

Bref, nous y retournerions pour prendre une marche sur le site et aller au spa, mais ne resterions pas pour un séjour ni un repas.

I had a really amazing experience with Brahim from the front desk and I can't thank him enough for his customer service. Because of COVID, I was not able to visit my mother in Calgary for her 60th birthday, and all restaurants were also closed so a dinner party was not possible anyway. Brahim helped me book a night at the hotel for my mom and made custom arrangements so that she could have an enjoyable evening in luxury. He helped me make the best of a tough situation, and I really appreciate that.

This hotel charges you for restaurant bills outside the days you actually stayed there. I was shocked that my room was billed for restaurant charges not in my name, or my wife who was on the reservation.and there were charges from a whole day before we checked in. The charges were disputed and the hotel refuses to back down despite there being charges for days we were not even there, and the name on the receipts not matching the names on my room reservation. I honestly expected better of this hotel. I will not be staying at a Germain hotel again. Save yourself the hassle and stay at the Fairmont.

Loved our stay here; what a beautiful, clean, and modern hotel. Their valet in particular and other staff were very friendly and accommodating! Great guest experience at this hotel. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Parking is an issue, but Le Germain isn’t constructed like the neighboring Fairmont or Marriot where there is convenient parking or an area to drop your vehicle and check in. We were advised to use the valet service (about $45 per night), but since my husband were in and out quite a bit during our stay, we opted for the self parking in their parkade. After 6pm it’s a flat reasonable rate ($16) but from 5am until 10am we were charged $62! The hotel room rates are very modest in comparison to their neighboring competitors - we figure it’s because the parking situation is irritating.

IF YOU LIKE SMOKED MEAT AND BACON, AND CAN APPRECIATE A VALET SERVICE THAT PUTS FOOD IN YOUR CAR WITHOUT BEING ASKED, THEN THIS IS THE HOTEL FOR YOU!
Although I would love to give this hotel more than one star, my recent experience at "one of the best hotels in Calgary", was both disappointing, and confusing.
The purpose of my trip was to surprise my wife with a birthday getaway. After reading the reviews on a number of hotels, I liked the ratings and the comments people left regarding their stay here. We checked into the hotel around 8pm Saturday night. Despite there being a valet, I asked where there was parking as the horror stories about these services leave me feeling uneasy. The front desk staff said that there was public parking for $10.00/hour, so the $30 valet seemed like a great deal. We dropped off our car, went to our room - where we stayed until we checked out the following morning. Our car was brought to the front for us, just as valets do, but when we got in, there was a horrendous smell. Sitting on the back seat was a box of take out from their restaurant. We didn't eat at their restaurant and we certainly did not order take out for our car. The box was full of smoked meat, bacon, and I am not sure what else as we were immediately enraged and went back inside. We confusingly showed the hotel staff what we found in our car. To be fair, the staff seemed just as confused as we were. After being interrogated by the staff, with questions like "did you order food and have it delivered to your car? ", to which we replied "who even does that? ", we came to the conclusion that CLEARLY somebody was in our vehicle who should not have been. We drove to Calgary, so we had to ride in our stinky smoked meat car for 3 hours home. After speaking to the manager, who was less than willing to accommodate our experience, we were told that it wasn't a big deal, as it was just human error. No, it was not human error, because one of your staff intentionally took my car keys for no reason, and took food to my car. There is no documentation of anyone actually asking for food to be left to stagnate in my car during the night. This was a violation of privacy to say the least, and the accusatory staff have not made it any better.

In the end we were told that we would receive some of our hotel charges back, which we have, but the whole experience was mind boggling. More so the excuse after excuse received.
Was it a nice hotel? The room was nice.
Was it worth the hassle of having to get my car cleaned? Absolutely not.
Am I confused on how this is the best hotel in Calgary? Yes
Would I ever return to this hotel? NEVER.
Would I order smoked meat and bacon from their restaurant? HELL NO.

The behaviour from restaurant was quite rude and dont care attitude. To answer a simple question on the phone they put us on hold twice for 5 to 10 minutes. Stay away from this kind of customer service

I love staying here. The rooms are very modern, and stylish. I love the bed, it is very comfortable. The shower is a rain fall style, and amazing. The staff were very friendly, even with an issue where 2 of the 3 elevators were not running. Stay away from the minibar and snacks unless you have interest in a second mortgage, the first-aid kit is $12, and the gum is $5. I would like to stay here again.

Ussualy don't write reviews but was a little disappointed with the cleanliness of my room. Overall the staff has been great the rooms are beautiful and the breakfast was great. Only problem was the room. When we arrived one of the bedsheets had a stain that looked like a face of makeup, which they promptly replaced. Later I noticed that the carpet has white stains and there is what looks like urine on the walls around the toilet. And lastly our door was left unlocked when the maids cleaned the rooms.

I'm hoping this is a one off and not a reflection of the hotel. Overall, I'm disappointed with the stay as my expectations were quite high considering the quality of the reputation.

I had the most inconsiderate experience at a hotel at Le Germain.

I was booked for two nights at Le Germain for a business trip. I do not have a credit card, so my company prepaid for my room. When I arrived at Le Germain at 11: 30pm, I was told I had to provide an additional $600 in cash per night as a deposit for incidentals. After stating I simply did not have an extra $600 a night, the hotel stated they would lower it to $300. In addition, I was told the minibar would have to be locked because I didn't have a credit card. This was insulting.

I attempted to transfer this from my savings account to my chequing account online. However, due to the late hour, the transfer did not go through immediately and my debit card continued to get declined. I asked if I could call a colleague and have them give their credit card information. The hotel said no.

The hotel gave me no options. Even though my company had prepaid for my room. I was not allowed to stay in the room. Le Germain essentially kicked me out onto the streets of Calgary at 11: 30pm, a single woman alone in a city I've never been before, to look for alternative accommodation. I will stress again, my room had been paid for.

I will never stay at this hotel again in my life. I was mortified, and treated as though I was subhuman. I didn't know where to go when I left and was nervous for my safety.

We've been on a long cross-country tour, and this is my favorite Hotel so far. The staff is very helpful. Charcut is very good. The bed and the room were extremely comfortable. I would definitely return to this hotel.we have arrived late on one evening and left around noon the next day, because we were so late getting in we slept in, missing the complimentary breakfast. Staff was great about sending us down the street to the plowshare where we had probably the best breakfast we have had since we left home!

It's astounding that after spending a substantial amount of money weeks at a time in your hotel, our loyalty was repaid by unwarranted accusations, undignified treatment from upper management, and a complete lack of accountability and response from any members of the executives. Surely, our young family does not fit the criminal profile deserving of this mistreatment, especially having the police called on us in our room in front of our 2 year old daughter to kick us out and to cut our stay short. Why haven't we heard back from anyone on the executive team to our last email correspondence a week ago who can stand by the actions and decisions taken by their upper management team. No respect or common courtesy was given and not even an explanation to support the decisions taken by unprofessional upper management staff members. It's unfortunate that a family owned company falls so far from its #1 value of "respect" especially towards another family. It's almost comical that this was started by an innocent email from our family asking about a hand towel which launched an assault from the upper management team to reply with an unprofessional abrasive email which included accusations of criminal intent, threats of monetary penalties, forced removal from their property and a final management decision with no discussion. The only "criminal" activity that happened was that we felt that you acted like crooks who were only good at taking our money with a failure to provide a service equal to the amount you charge.

***BE WARNED that another crooked activity shown was their promise of the "complimentary breakfast". It should more accurately state "only one complimentary breakfast per room" as there's an extra hidden $30 charge per occupant for the same room type as you would stay in for a single occupant. This $30 is for them to cover their cost of offering each guest a "complimentary breakfast", which means that you're basically paying $30 for your complimentary breakfast.

Someone in the company executive team needs to own up and take responsibility for the actions taken and honour the values and ethics that the company claims to have for their guests.

The hotel was in a convenient area of downtown with two doors facing an avenue and a street for easy pick-up. The staff were very professional and answered our questions quickly and politely. The rooms were very clean and modern. Sliding hanging doors for the bathroom and modern furnishings added to the feel of the room. The only issue I had was with the lights. They were a little dim for spotting wrinkles on my clothing while I was trying toiron my suit. Otherwise, a fantastic hotel with valet parking. I would definitely visit again!
