Leduc Community Hospital

Just had a colonoscopy. Staff and doctors were very professional and courteous. Answered all my questions and I as was in and out in a timely manner. My sixth time and this was by far the best experience.

ER is sooo much better than other SO CALLED BIG hospitals! We checked in we were served with kindness and love, we were politely advised that they wont be able to help us on weekend as they didnt have surgeon around to do the surgery.the nurse was very nice as compared to other hospitals where we were treated like trash! I highly recomend this hopital for ER and i dnt mind to come back to this hospital from another city and drive extra miles to visit the hospital. Keep up the good work!

One of the worst hospital, staff is very lazy, just passing time not attending patients. I can't take a picture otherwise I will show that 7 staff members just sitting and patients are waiting more than 4 hrs.

The staff at this hospital are ignorant, rude and have no compassion. A hospital this big and they only have 1 doctor on staff. What a complete joke

My husband had an extreme head ache he went to Grey nuns Community hospital where they didnt treat him they sent him home.
We went to Leduc community hospital in 4 hours they treated both of us and they stopped my husband pain they were kind helpfull and professional. God bless

I dont agree on some comments here, looks like either they are friends or even family, i am just here today as my wife cant even walk due to knee inflammation, it is morethan 3 hrs and no one even come out to call my wifes name, as the time progress and shes still in pain, i read the reviews in here and just shake my head, we tax payers deserves a better health care especially the leduc hospital.so disappointed.

My girl friend went to this hospital today (10th April) for a serious illness and she had to wait for 6 hours there bearing the pain and she had to come home because nobody gave medical attention to her. After waiting for so long and wasting the whole day she still did not get any advice from the doctors not even a painkiller for her pain. This is so unacceptable, if somebody sees this review just make sure you won’t go through the discomfort that she had to go through. Its better if you go to a different hospital than this one!

The nurses in this ER are so incredibly in-sympathetic. They make you feel like you are bothering them with your presence. I was quite appalled at my experience here when I went in for severe vertigo and couldn’t even sit up straight. Had to lay on the floor because I was so sick and could hear them all gossiping about patients.brutal.

My wife went into the emergency yesterday in excruciating pain in her eye and head. The staff right from admitting clerks to triage nurses and Dr. Mohit Vohra were amazing. She was there for almost four ours but it wasn’t without care. Each of the staff were making sure that they were making the right decisions on the diagnosis, appropriate treatments and administering medication appropriately. During times in the emergency in our 65 years we would rate this emergency staff as some of the best health care professionals we are privileged to have in our province.

4 hour wait and still didn’t see the doctor. Clown show. Pathetic. Have a 5 year old with high fever. What our taxes paying for?

Very positive experience in the emergency room this week (April 18), from the Admitting Desk to the Tech who took me to the exam room (and checked on me when I left) to the doctor who was so thorough with his examination and answering questions. My thanks to you all.

My husband had a great experience tonight while bringing our 5 year old in for an ear infection who was in absolute tears. My husband who despises having to go into the hospital due to the amount of hours it usually takes to get a prescription was blown away by Christopher Ti Lee, MD! He heard my son bawling his eyes out and stated to my husband that he can’t stand to hear children cry.so he asked if it was ok to check his ear in the waiting room so he could give him a prescription right away.

As a mother and father to 3 boys, we’ve had our fair share of hospital visits but have never received a more caring/professional doctor ever, which is why I’m leaving this review.

A message from my husband “he has been crying so one of the doctors came out to check on him, incredibly nice man, Kristopher was scared of the ear checking device so he was patient and explained everything to him and let him touch it before looking in his ears. I have never seen such a caring and professional dr before”.

Thank you so much Christopher, you are the definition of what a doctor should be! I hope more will be able to learn from you.

My entire experience was good. Staff and Dr were good. Hospital clean. I visited the Visiting Specialist Clinic and had x-rays done. The xray tech was wonderful.

Saw more nurses and doctors running around and giggling like they’re in highschool then them actually helping the patients

Look @ the emergency waiting room. This lady came in an ambulance because a back injury. After the triage she was asked to wait in the waiting room. (only chairs in the room). When she said she cant sit on the chair and asked if the floor is ok they replied" the floor is cool enough"
This lady been lying on the dirty waiting room for 45 minutes (still waiting). After constant complaining from us they finally gave her a blanket. Me and the other patient helped this lady to lay on it. No one came in to check in on her. They only came in after our complaining.

Went to this hospital when the mask mandates were lifted and they weren’t allowing anyone in with patients which is understandable.fast forward to now october of 2022, i went to take my boyfriend in as he is experiencing quite severe symptoms and pain and quite possibly could be kidney failure.wait times are ridiculous and i was told i could not go in with him.after about 30+ minutes of waiting my boyfriend came back out to the car and decided not to proceed with their hospital care as there was two couples in the waiting room and a mother and daughter but i was told i’m not allowed back there with him.this isn’t the first horrible experience we’ve had with this hospital.staff is rude, wait times are outrageous for a small hospital and they have never ever given either one of us a positive experience.go to the devon or wetaskiwin hospital instead they are so much better

I had a good experience here. Everything took about 4 hours total. Everyone was great from start to finish, from triage to nurse to doctor. My father in law did get to come into the room with me, once I was in. Happy to be on the mend after great care, and thankful I was only there for 4 hours. One thing I will say is the waiting area is pretty uncomfortable. For people in a worse state, that wouldn’t be ideal. But their space is pretty small, so perhaps that’s all they have.

Last four days I had a fever and sivier headache so I went Leduc hospital yesterday at 12: 30 am but there no busy that time but I wait for 4 hours in the triage area and I went home. Somebody coming to hospital because they need treatment not for sit there. I don’t know what kind of ethics is this.

Twice I have had to go to the emergency room at this hospital and the 1st time went so well that yesterday I had to return for more assistance. The nurses went above and beyond to help me even coming out to the parking lot to get me in to the er. These people are working hard to try help many people and I appreciate all the work they are doing. The doctors are very helpful and efficient.

Had an 1" long open knife wound on my finger that needed stitches. Wasn't even checked upon arrival. Was made to wait over 4 hours to be told because it happened more than 12 hours ago (I had left it bandaged from when it happened hoping it would seal which it didn't) and because I didn't immediately come I they wouldn't treat me. Ended up walking out of the hospital with an open wound unbandaged or sanitized.

Girlfriend had an almost identical experience. They really red to train their intake nurses better, to at least examine people I'd their going to be denied service so their not wasting hours of their days waiting.

I was at the airport ready to fly home to Ontario and my diabetes got so bad I couldn't stop throwing up. I missed my flight went to leduc hospital snd they were so AMAZING! The E. R and xray ultrasound nurses and drs took me in right away. The e.r nurse Audrey I will never forget your kindness ️ you and the e.r staff are the BEST Hospital I have ever experienced. Today my mother went to the hospital at 12: 30am through an ambulance and by the time 3: 10 am there was no freaking doctor to assist her and she was crying and crying because she was soo much in painand even she was all alone in the middle of the night. At last she had to take a cab at 3: 10am and come back home in pain. Worst medical system. They think patients are just a joke to the doctors.

They were very compassionate and considerate of my Wife and the issues she was having. Thank you to all the staff, doctors, nurses, lab techs, etc. You are appreciated.

I have never received such loving and compassionate care as at LCH. From the ER staff to the Unit nurses, they are all fantastic!

Brought my 2 year old son who was vomiting every few minutes.

They sat us in the waiting room for THREE. HOURS. My son was clearly in distress. Every time someone would come by, he was vomiting and they did NOTHING. I am not exaggerating when I say he was throwing up every 5 minutes. He couldn’t keep fluids down, and I was desperately trying to keep him hydrated with zero success. He needed an anti-emetic.

When I asked for help or for something to stop him from throwing up (and for a new bowl for him to vomit in since his was full) I was told, rudely, by a nurse “you’ll be seen when you get seen. ” Zero compassion, aggressive, and rude.

When he was eventually seen by the doctor (AFTER FOUR HOURS) the doctor watched him vomit and said “oh he’s not coughing to make himself throw up at all! ” So this means that the nurses told the doctor that the reason he was throwing up was because he was coughing so hard he was throwing up.

If they had listened to me or if they were actually paying attention during his triage, they would have know that this was certainly not the case as there was no coughing at all.

Liars.

Within 5 minutes of the doctor seeing what was going on, my son FINALLY! Got something to stop the vomiting.

Horrendous that they would make a 2 year old, a toddler, suffer that way.

Horrible, awful nurses who need a career change.

Came into Emerg room after being pulled into a saw
They had me wait long enough for a decent amount of the wound to heal so when they have to go back in and pick out debris theyll have to tear it all apart again. Whole time I can here doctors and nurses hanging around and laughing rather than doing their job. It literally would have been faster to drive to the UofA or something

The few times I have been the staff have been great, kind and caring. It's nice to have a local hospital with that small town feel unlike the big city. Thank you Leduc Hospital Staff, you are all so appreciated for all you do for our community. Blessings!

Terrible experience with this hospital last night. My brother stayed on emergency bed for 2.5 hours without getting any relieved my pain level. Apathetic care. I was asked to go home in pain. Ow I’ll not recommend anyone to go there when you are in acute pain because they don’t understand the pain scale.

I had surgery here in June 2021 and the procedure went fine and I was treated well by the surgeon on nurses assisting me. But the visiting specialist clinic part needs to do better at scheduling appointments. From my knowledge they book a bunch of people for a certain time like 9am and then treat it as first comes first serve. Check in at 8: 45am for 9am appointment. To sit nearly two hours for a 2 min follow up conversation. What bothers me is sitting in a waiting room with 7-8 other patients during a 4th wave for hours at a time while other patients are having surgeries canceled due to the pandemic.

I can't say enough good about this hospital. Was a little concerned when I read some of the reviews, but the staff here are outstanding, right from triage, to admitting to the nursing staff and Dr. Balko. The wait time was real quick and they are super efficient and thorough. Best experience by far that I've ever had a hospital. Thank you so much to everyone at the Leduc Hospital

Ignorant staff, with zero care for their patients. Not sure how this hospital is still running considering most people in leduc and surrounding area avoid it like the plague. Everytime I've gone in the staff is always rude and if you ask for the slightest things they just huff and puff like you ruined their day. Wait time are also atrocious. If you want a good quality hospital consider going elsewhere cause this place isn't it.

This hospital is a big time WASTER. I will never recommend it to anyone. It’s been over four hours of waiting. Never believe that it only takes around thirty minutes to get in. It’s fake. They take some new people before you even if you were there first. Not good at all. For your own sake I wouldn’t come

Amazing staff! Very thorough. For me with horrible back pain the longest wait was in the waiting room, but while I was there two emergency patients came in. Once it was my turn the longest i waited was for the back surgeon to return the call for a consultation. I was kept comfortable and treated very well.

I purposely drove by this hospital which is right next to my house to go into Edmonton, even though my kidneys were having troubles passing a stone and I've started bleeding from everywhere imaginable, Id rather go anywhere else because the staff and wait times here are the worst. There could be 1 person waiting and it would take them 3 hours to get that person in only to be sent home with T3s by the nurse and never be seen by a Dr. Save yourself the hassle and go into Edmonton. It seems like the staff here don't care about you and would rather go about doing nothing then do their jobs.

Wow what horrible service! This is so supposed to be a health care facility? ! My husband had an appointment at the lab to get bloodwork done. He had to use the bathroom first and they said no. So he waited to go into the appointment to use the bathroom and they said no again. Then they called security to get him escorted out of the hospital! So we had to drive to Beaumont to the DynaLife Lab to get bloodwork done! I have filed complaints against both security and Precision Lab Services. We are from Red Deer.

Nurses treat patients like absoulte garbage. Id rather drive to edmonton than be mistreated by the "ladies" here. I had a very sick 2 yearold who finally got some rest in my arms while waiting for a doctor, i get a nurse that storms in, slams the door against the wall, slams the sliding bathroom door closed so hard that it bounces back open, and storms out slamming my room door without a word. No reguards to my sick child, didnt even see the doctor before we ended up leaving due to horrid wait times and extremely rude service. These ladies need to find a new career.

I had a 3 hour drive from out of town to come in for day surgery. This was my first experience at this hospital and after reading some of the other horrible reviews here I wanted to say absolutely everyone who looked after me treated me with the upmost level of care and professionalism. Thank you so much Leduc Community Hospital, Dr. Cooper and the amazing health care professionals who work there. I I have nothing but positive things to say and my recovery is going much better than I hoped for thanks to you guys.

The nurse they have at the front door is incredibly rude, unhelpful, and unknowledgeable. Trying to come in for a same day lab, explaining why I couldn't book an appointment, I was still greeted with suspicion and rudeness. Showed the nurse the lab req, hoping it would explain why. Nope. She finally lets me in to the bloodwork ladies who assure me its not expected to have an appt for this req, and its not a problem or inconvenience to them. Kudos bloodwork ladies! But that front nurse might want to brush up on her knowledge a little.

If i could rate a zero i would. Worst hospital i have ever been in. Rude staff. Went day 1 with torn achilles heel waited 10.5 hours. Called in 3 people. Most walked out. Went back day 2 told it would be 2 hours. 5 hours in later told would be hours and hours to get seen. 1 doctor on both days. DO NOT GO THERE.

Was at the Leduc Hospital last evening for a chest xray and CT Scan. This was done very promptly and efficiently. Staff very friendly.

Had to quit my job here because of harassment from Raphael Herbst. Was harassed and stalked by my coworker, HR did nothing but give him a vacation and make me cover his on call. Whole time I'm supposed to be taking a course at nait and pretending this psycho isn't a massive problem.

It’s because of hospitals like this that make people disbelieve that we are currently in a health pandemic. There is only one doctor for the entire hospital for the past two times me and my significant other have been there. The first time we were there was for her ankle and for whatever reason they thought it was appropriate to put her in a neck brace. They then left her in the room with the “help” button across the room where she had no chance of reaching it. They then left her there for about a hour to a hour and a half before anyone came here in to get her x-rays. The second and most recent time we have been there was for her IUD, it is most likely out of place however we don’t know because despite her being in there before the other patients that arrived after us and the enormous amount of pain she was in they let in the others first. We decided it would be best to make the drive out to Edmonton for a more reliable hospital. Anyone who is in a serious amount of pain I would strongly recommend going to any other hospital than this one. Thank you for whoever takes the time to read this and please for your own good. Avoid this hospital.

Cut the tip of my finger off.waited 4.5 hours and walked home due to it being another 2-3 hour wait. I was bleeding Through everything they gave me and was sick of waiting. The lady at the front desk just continued to call me a baby and that 10/10 pain wasn’t something men could understand:/ all in all 0/5 is what this place really is and might be the worst hospital in Alberta!

Thank you to the whole staff of Leduc Hospital for taking such good care of my mom. My mom speaks no english but staff was super helpful and accommodating. Helped us through such difficult times. Except for the first triage nurse at emergency the whole staff did an amazing job. Worth travelling all the way from Edmonton. Way better care than what you get at Grey Nuns.

1 star is too many. Nurses are horrible. Doctors couldn't care less. Its not safe here. Stay away!

Nurse at front is a horribly rude person and they do not communicate with the patients. Just tell me it'll take 9 hours for an x-ray il go see my family doctor instead.

Had nose surgery June 1.2021. Staff were friendly and caring, from the nurse to the surgeon.
Maybe others had bad experience from reading the posts, but mine was good.

I'm kind of surprised at all the bad reviews. I just moved here from BC and had a little accident with a foot fracture and the ambulance (very expensive ambulance by the way lol) ended up taking me to this hospital. I cannot believe how friendly and caring all the staff were. Nurses and doctors are nothing like this in BC. Even the doctor was so nice he called me a couple times to make sure that I got in touch with the surgeon.

Drive the extra kms to go into edmonton. No matter how short the wait is, do not waste your time here. The nurses were absolutely incapable of being polite and the doctor was far worse. Dr. Chaudhry lacked care and compassion and even the basics of truly explaining herself and her reasoning. For a small hospital that was unbelievably slow, she had me wait 2.5 hours for her to show up and send me away in a few moments.

This hospital has to be the worst health care facility for gross negligence, unprofessionalism and respect for another human being I have ever seen! Working in the health care industry I can appreciate how hectic things can be. There is no excuses for the disregard for human care and compassion this facility demonstrates! I wouldn't even take my dog or my worst enemy to this place! This is not new news, its been years of this and no one seems to care how undeniably rude, uncompassionate, neglectful, the people who work here are! AHS needs to get their act together and clean house get rid of the toxic trash that contaminates this environment and start employing people who actually care about their jobs and the people they are taking care of! The lack of communication between the doctors and nurses is disturbing and not to mention the complete neglect of the patient they are supposed to be caring for. Willing to provide multiple examples upon request.

Was allowed by the doctor to limp home with potential soft tissue damage. Why did the ambulance driver even bother to pick me up? Nursing staff were more interested in playing "bird is the word" or some other weird game. I saw a lady knock her head on a terribly designed waiting room then block the exit. Doctor seemed unhelpful and more interested in flirting. At least I got an x Ray for my hip, I guess.

I didn't fill a pain killer they prescribed the week before and the nurse said that was the solution to my problem. I am having severe chest pains and im naseaus. Not one single test both times i'd been there. Skip this hospital. They just give you pain killers so you leave but don't bother finding out the root cause. Its almost 3am right now. Im heading to Grey nuns tomorrow while riding out waves of pain, exhaustion and nausea in ny kitchen. Id call 911 but since im a few blocks over id be afraid they'd bring me back here. Im so livid right now and im going to lodge a complaint with Alberta health. I came in right after 1am and got home at 2: 45 and never saw a doctor tonight. What a waste of time.

This ED has got to be below poor. The waiting room is small and crowded which defies the purpose of physical distancing. The medicentre I went to this morning regarding my complaint referred me to go to Emerge this cold rainy day. Not to my surprise on a typical poor weather day it brings people to emerge so for something of my nature that is bleeding and requiring minor surgery Ive been waiting far too long and seen too many people with minor complaints be seen first, the triage nurse spoke loud enough that everyone’s presenting complaint was heard. I feel that breached my confidentiality after I wrote down my complaint and she spoke loud enough for the whole compact department to hear mine, disrespecting my privacy. The whole main emerge and triage should be reconsidered, I am hoping my procedure will go fine.

The website says wait times are shorter than they really are.it said 49 minutes, I waited almost three hours and still haven’t seen anyone, just lots of staff on a break

I honestly think this hospital should be shut down. I've never in my life had a good experience here. I've had doctors give me the wrong medication, I've had nurses treat me like garbage, and the last time I was there I was in for a drug overdose after being slipped GHB at a bar. I've never taken/done drugs in my life, but apparently because I'm young that's impossible. They left me on the waiting room floor in such bad condition that the other patients in the waiting room asked why they weren't taking me in. When they finally did, I was refused help after being questioned multiple times about my drug use. I was put in a private room and had multiple nurses come in to question me about my history of marijuana/cocaine use even though I've never, NEVER touched anything. They refused to listen to me and thought I was trying to cover up for myself. Finally, I was given a doctor, Dr. Michael Orth (who conveniently has a 1/5 rating on Rate MDs). He prescribed me antibiotics (without any proof of any kind of bacterial infection) and told me that even if I had been drugged it was my OWN FAULT FOR BEING A CARELESS WOMAN.

More recently than that, my father was admitted with a proximal fibular head fracture and sent home without anything. No cast, no medication, nothing, just sent home where he had to wait DAYS for an MRI. Luckily, I'm well studied in human osteology so I know how incredibly dangerous this can be. Putting any pressure on a fracture like that is a horrible idea, and if the fibular nerve is severed my father could lose all feeling in that foot and leg. We're STILL waiting for that MRI and his leg isn't even cast, it's just wrapped up. Insane.

This hospital is rife with malpractice and I'd sooner take a knife to the side than have to go back there. Michael Orth, especially, I would strongly recommend against seeing unless you feel like a lecture on how women are at fault for everything men do. If your life is in danger and you're being forced there against your will, I guess that's a reason to go. Any other situation, suffering is probably a better choice.
