The Paris-Brest lacked freshness, reaching a point where it was stiff and challenging to cut. The taste leaned more towards cream puffs than an authentic Paris-Brest with praline cream. Additionally, the coffee seemed burnt and lacked latte art.
I was really surprised at how nice this place was. Good displays of tantalizing sandwiches and pastries. I had the Apple Cinnamon muffin and it was pretty good. The Americano was hot and tasty as well.
Overall premises were bright and well maintained with a steady flow of customers. I'd certainly go back again to try something else.
Love the chocolate caramel. It’s my favourite treat in the city. We go here often. They have baked goods, patisseries, meals and drinks. Highly recommend.
This place is a hidden treasure. Everything there is very good from the sandwiches, pastries and coffee. It is very busy and sometimes hard to get a table, but it's worth the wait.
We visited this lovely little French bakery. They offer good selection of drinks and a large variety of food, depending on whether you’d like a small meal or a treat. They also offer frozen traditional French pies, cakes, soups, pastries, and quiche. The raspberry white chocolate macaron was heavenly!
Great pastries would highly recommend this place. The latte was great and well priced and they offer multiple substitute options for milk which are a bonus. Great value for a nice breakfast and lunch. As a treat you can try one of the fancy desserts available, they are a tad expensive so I would save those for special celebrations. Also the pack of macaroons make a great tasty gift. Enjoy!
Service exceedingly slow today at the Blackfoot location despite there being plenty of staff. Probably won't come again. Used to be good but obviously it has gone downhill since we visited last. No waiting service to tables either.
I always enjoy the ambiance and smell of fresh coffee, they get it right every time. I haven't tried all the items on the menu, but everything I have so far was fresh, perfectly designed and tasted amazing every single time! Thank you for being there and for serving us in such a welcoming way. Joice was who helped me today, thumbs up! Keep up the good work!
I am always looking for French pastry shops, tried it for the first time and wasn't disappointed. They have lot of French Boulangerie and Pastry products to select from. The one I had was Palais Royal which was close enough to the texture and flavor of a Ferraro Rocher chocolate, although it was light in texture but wasn't that fresh. Plain croissant wasn't up to the mark, didn't have that flaky and buttery composition that you would normally expect from a French croissant. One of the team member (guy) is brand new and was really trying to do his best while learning French items, was a good effort from him while his other team member (lady) was helping him and other customers.
Worth a visit, maybe the morning hours are better as they are baked fresh.
First order, I asked for a cookie, got a muffin. Ate the muffin, amazing! Second order, asked for a Spinach puff pastry, got a spinach quiche. The service was friendly, the food was delicious, coffee was awesome. I highly recommend checking this place out, but do make sure they get your order correct.
Had their Pear, Brie and Bacon sandwich on a dark Raisin Bread. A few of my favourite things that sounded amazing, but they slightly warmed it in a microwave instead of putting it in a Pannini press or on a grill and toasting the bread which would have been a simple fix. It was next to impossible to eat. Tasted awful. Would never go back.
A nice authentic French patisserie! A nice variety of delicious cakes! Hot drinks are my favorite there! Don’t forget to buy a baguette before you leave! I love this place! Plenty of parking space for the cafeteria! Actually, this is how I got to know the place! I, first wanted to go to Starbucks facing this place (who didn’t have a parking spot for me). So I saw this parking place and decided to park there and get my hot drink there instead! Great experience! You won’t regret it! You visit once and you will be back again!
I went with a friend for a coffee. After more than 10 min they still didn't make our coffee and when asked the lady there said the coffee will be ready in the next 3 min. Other customers who came after us already got their order and not just a coffee. I conclude that they simply forgot about ours and no apology was given. The place is clean and nice but for someone whose first visit went like this I have to say I was disappointed. PS: In glancing at the pastry prices, they are high.
Stopped in for a coffee after always driving by. The latte was really smooth and delicious, and the apricot danish/pastry was phenomenal. The restaurant was clean and had nice ambiance. I found the prices a little high, but worth it. Unfortunately, the staff member who helped me seemed really disinterested in their job, which brought down the whole experience a bit.
We totally loved the place The place is wonderfully set up The service is impeccable The bakery are mouthwatering, to say the least The coffee was intense and strong enough, but not bitter️ Highly recommend it️ A classy peak into some French style in Alberta
I couldn't wait until they reopen after the quarantine. Please, support local! Have a coffee or three! Have a croissant and a sandwich and take some home! Tell all your friends. I hope this business survives this turmoil because they deserve it!
Had a turkey club (approx $10) There was a single piece of cheap deli meat, and a single piece of undercooked fatty bacon. I’ve been here twice now really trying to give it a chance. Really slow and backwards ordering process. Staff seem to spend all their energy stapling receipts together that they collect on a spike behind the cash desk for some unknown reason. Very slow. Do not come here for a quick lunch break. You’ll wait 10-15 minutes for the staff to heat up a pre made sandwich. Also seems like there is a condescending grumpy manager scaring all the baristas and staff. Almond croissant tasted correct, but presentation rather melted and deformed as most of the pastries look like when comparing to a proper bakery or something you would get in France. It’s too bad. With some rethinking of the service flow and some more finesse with the quality… this place could be cool, a missed opportunity I would say.
Nice and busy for a Monday lunch crowd. Good Americanos here BUT the heaviest cream available was 3% milk! I had to change my order to tea. Please stock 33% and 18% cream.
Worst food we ever had. We had breakfast and a croque monsieur. Not worth the price. Bacon was so dry that it was not even edible. Croque monsieur was soggy and my capuccino was warm.
I had the chance to visit this bakery: cafe about a week ago. It’s a hidden gem. The ambiance is great, the bakery & food selection is excellent. I had the lemon tart and it was the best I’ve ever had. It’s a little pricey but definitely worth it for the quality of food you get.
Overall good, nice deco, helpful staff, clean and organized! Great places for a little meeting! I'm sure there has free Wi-Fi. I haven't tried the food menu besides a Butter croissant. Unfortunately, for me, those were not croissants, I felt eating like a brioche-like instead. Prices are a little more on a higher-end, but free parking!
Would give it 10 stars if I could. This location and the one downtown are my go to coffee and pastry shops now. Everything is fantastic including the staff. They are doing it right. Ignore the negative reviews as these guys are hitting it out of the park. I am recommending it to anyone who will listen.
Top-notch French cafe. Great spot for traditional French pastries or a light lunch. Very good espresso beverages, though it's the pastries that distinguish this spot. Great modern coffee shop atmosphere with a French theme. It's acceptable to work/study at the tables for a while. Very friendly staff always make it a good experience. Each time I go, I leave more impressed.
Went on Dec 28/21 If you park on the street there are no steps or railing to get to the front door. Customers are using this incline which is very slippery this can lead to someone falling. Suggest parking in the parking lot if it's not full. Food was excellent!
Yesterday I went there to get some croissants. I slipped on the ground with my daughter in my arms in the parking, and luckily no one got hurt. Just the coffee spilled. Today I went there again to get some French pastry and share my experience. So I was telling my story to the lady on the counter, and her reply shocked me, she said “ oh that`s dangerous, do you need anything else “. The place wasn`t even busy at that time.she could show some concern about the safety of their customers. Of course, I know it`s dangerous.it`s not the point. I was sharing my experience so she could report it to the parking owner so no one gets hurt in the future. It`s just a matter of SALT. And please, next time, show some concern about the safety of your customers.
The only way I can get my teenager out of bed before noon on the weekend is to bribe her with breakfast/brunch at La Fayette. That alone should tell you how good it is!
Such a horrible experience with full size Tiramisu cake. It was frozen but I was told it would thaw in 45 mins and be edible. When I cut into it all of its sides were rock hard and even the top layer too. Wasted my money.
The 3 pieces of Brioche French Toast and a generous helping of fresh berries and melon for 11.99$. I was the first factory trained barista for Wendell’s in Fort Langley- the foam was perfect. The sweetheart even remade my latte, of his own generosity, when I stepped out for an unexpected MardaLoop Community Association meeting call. Excellent service, great prices, quality, space and seating. I look forward to trying the raspberry cake in their freezer.
My wife drove across town for a specific pastry, double check with the cashier twice on the order, only to find out at home, that we are one dessert short. So much for an early morning birthday surprise. Unacceptable.
These patisseries are amazing. Palais Royalis an elegant creation featuring semi sweet chocolate mousse and a genoise base. Not overly sweet, the taste is so rich yet light. A must try is the strudel, bursting with flavour. The lattès are delivered to your table. This place is owned by a Brazillian family. Easy access from Blackfoot Trail northbound and from Heritage Drive eastbound. Small bistro and staff are very helpful.
My wife ordered eggs, bread, fruits and coffee. Might be bread was toasted on old, used before, margarine, but she had such liver pain, she even took time off from work next day. It was busy time. Staff coming to ask if you want more. But, after people leaving, they do not clean up / set tables, even girls walk by. New people coming, move old dishes away.
Downtown Location: wondering if the day old product is sent to the Core downtown location? Excited to have fresh options right downtown but repeatedly, croissants, macarons and other items are dry and underwhelming. Hard to justify a premium price when grocery store offerings are cheaper and fresher. Will stick to some of the other great bakeries around town when I’m craving a quality croissant!
Sooooo tasty. Definitely the place you want to go to if you're in the mood to treat yourself to a nice meal. Ordered a sandwich, soup, and dessert which were all amazing. Cant wait to come back
I’m loving this bakery. We recently discovered this place through a word-of-mouth. At this location the interior sitting area is comfortable and spacious, perfect for enjoying your cup of coffee and a patisserie. Speaking of coffee, this place makes a very good one. They also remember you and can repeat your order for next time. The pastries and baked goods are next level. I’ll be back again, for breakfast and lunch.
I used to frequent this little cafe when I worked nearby, but I always find an excuse to go back even now. From the delicious food and drinks to the tasty treats, you won't be disappointed! Highly recommend giving them a chance!
Food is good but service really killed the mood. Mistake while taking order, 2 breakfast ordered and one arrived more than 10 minutes after the other (so had to eat it cold), no spoons provided for cappuccinos. Omelette was supposed to be 10 minutes, been waiting more than 20 as I write this. Total disconnect.
Incredible French bakery! It has unreal food l, everything from incredible sandwiches to delicious deserts. The service was excellent as well. I would highly recommend stopping by for a snack or just simply browsing.
French Toast with fresh fruit and a side of eggs! No salt and pepper needed in the eggs, they were so flavourful. The homemade French toast, and crisp, delectable fruits were scrumtious. Topped with a fresh, warm chocolate muffin and Peppermint tea.delicious! Inside has tons of fresh baked goodies including pies, buns, bread, muffins and the like. I'm not a coffee drinker but they make fresh coffee, espresso, lattes, etc and it smells so good! Lovely, quaint little nook of the world to sit down and enjoy some homemade goods either outside or inside.
I had the chance to have Le Moulins Lafayette to provide a catering service for me. Wow! We’ve had them serving dinner and lunch. Everything was delicious and affordable! The people were really impressed! Fresh, home-made style! Savoury, sweet, fresh smoothies, everything was beyond our expectations! Great food and great service! Great all around! I highly recommend it! Congratulations Samuel and team!
Amazing place! A must see to believe! Best little Cafe in Calgary. Fresh French pastries.sandwiches.soup.take home deserts.and the specialty coffees are brilliant!
Very pleasant staff, you feel valued and appreciated right when you walk in. Delicious pastries, and very clean. Truly a hidden gem in southern Calgary. Definitely recommend the orange white chocolate croissant/pastry! Took the owner’s advice and tried it and it was to die for! Will be back for more:)
Friendly staff, great tasting pastries and they make a good Americano! It is good to see us getting more options for great tasting croissants and coffee.
Forget Starburing next door- locally owned Les Moulins Lafayette on Blackfoot South is gorgeous. The fresh food, courageous coffee, and perfect pastries beat their multinational neibour in quality AND price. It's a no-brainer for lunch or coffee.
Growing pains: they are new and starting out and have no logistics worked out. The food was a bit greasy and it is overpriced UNLESS you but the combo, which is a decent deal.
Absolutely love this place! Someone brought their pastries to our office and I knew this is the real stuff, like from back home in Europe. Few days after we had their sandwiches and pastries at a business event and then finally I discovered the physical location with delicious little cakes and coffee. Les Moulins La Fayette in Calgary is a cozy place to spend your weekend afternoon at, with super friendly staff and the best desserts ever
Went to Starbucks just on the corner And saw this jem and decided to give it a shot We got some goodies and I have to admit they were amazing We definitely will be back So thank you
Nice little spot for fresh baked goods and variety of delicious sandwiches. They also have a wide range of delectable desserts that look so good you want them all. Swing in for lunch if you're in the area.
Great new place, excellent coffees, pastry, quiche, salads, cakes. Beautiful inside. Hope they will thrive as location is a bit off the main path. Worth visiting and enjoying French goodies.
Honestly it's pretty disappointing. The workers here are pleasant enough but the service is so incredibly slow. Especially for just a coffee. They don't seem to make their orders in the order they're received either. I came here often as I am working nearby but today was the last straw, 20 minutes for an Americano when I had ordered a latte.
Exceptional service. Beautiful spot with incredibly divine items that take you straight to the streets of Paris. Coffee was delicious. Chairs in back were fabulous. Bread looks incredible. Something for everyone here. Was a lovely experience!
The cutest little bakery! Open early with tons of variety for baked goods. Large seating area and they sell frozen soups, pies, etc. Everything's baked fresh; I watched them take several things out of the oven while I was there and my croissant was 5 minutes old! Would definitely recommend.
