Wow has the service ever gone downhill at this location or perhaps it was just the staff member we were unlucky enough to have. My husband and I went in to buy a set of roller skate skiis after talking to Carter on the phone, he was awesome! When we arrived his shift was over unfortunately and the lady working couldn't have been less helpful. We felt as though she was actively finding reasons for us not to buy. It was unbelievable. My husband also left a review, I see the owner responded to him and asked him to email. He sent an email right after leaving the store but no one has responded. We tried to support a local business but ended up buying everything I needed for roller skate skiing online.
I had a great experience dealing with Matt. He was knowledgeable, experienced, and very helpful. I got a new set of wax less skis. They were able to give me a very reasonable price.
They don’t do disc lost and found anymore. Why would you not want people to come to your store to drop off and pick lost discs? We will end up hanging around and buying more discs. It seems like everything is an inconvenience to them any time you go there.
I bought a pair of pole straps recently. I was very happy with the service received. Special thanks to Val in helping me find the right pair and installing them onto my poles.
In-depth knowledge regarding Disc Golf, go talk to George. He even let us know what our old discs were rated, and suggested great new discs. Learned a lot when I was there, great experience!
Easy to find location and parking was adequate. Welcomed upon entry with staff offering recommendations but also knowing when to give space. We went for Disc Golf discs and selection was good, offering a variety of price points and disc specifications. All in all a great experience.
Today was the third and last time I entered this store. They tell you when to come back for the equipment you want but never have what they say they will. I understand there are huge supply issues right now but they should be honest about dates they quote you. The first time last fall, I phoned and was told they had the skis I wanted but when I arrived they’d been sold out for weeks. I was told I could order what I wanted in March but when I returned in March I was told I was too late but if I lined up before the store opened on September 15, there would be extra skis in the order scheduled for that day. Now the same guy tells me they have no idea when they will be getting stock. Terrible customer service.
The worst attitude I have ever come across in a shop in my life. My wife and I spent over 2 hours in a queue outside your shop in the freezing cold yesterday, starting at a perfectly sensible time of just before 3pm…. Whilst this was not a pleasant experience at no point did anyone from the shop come and talk to anyone in the queue or check what anyones needs were and any kind of warning of timings and the potential to be served. Then we spent the last 10mins of our queueing inside the door with 2 groups by then ahead of us…. At just after 5pm
The attitude show to us as potential customers (or even human beings) as someone from the back was finally sent out to check the queue and what peoples needs were, obviously NO ONE is standing in a queue for 2 hours in the freezing cold (some with children) is there to buy some wax, were were all there still to get fully kitted out. So only at this juncture was any check made and simply we were told we would not be seen to and that was it. No apology at all I stress, simply a ‘I don’t know what else I can tell you’ kept being stated (no sorry, no nothing). We said at the time that the shops behaviour to us was unacceptable, it was a complete disgrace… It would have taken very little effort to check the queue and potential timings way further back in time than this. I have never been so disrespected by a shop in my life and through no fault of our own. You should be ashamed of yourselves if this is the level of care and thought you have towards your freezing cold customers in these difficult times…. We explained we had come from Canmore as well and that coupled with waiting 2+ hours of or lives and frozen feet for nothing, again NOT EVEN an apology of any kind….
Was referred to Lifesport by the calgary disc golf association, The guys here were super helpful setting up a large box of rental discs, great customer service and very friendly. Will be highly recommending Lifesport for anyone in need of Discs or anything sport related!
Having read another review 'Hannah's I can totally understand why you'd be upset. I planned early bought early and in the mix up my mothers and mine skis got lost. Got my skis in the end the bindings were wrong. Except Rick was absolutely amazing, he's called in friends to help it can be frustrating mistakes happen we all make them. Come spring ill be talking to them about bike.
Arrived at the shop 15 minutes before closing and queued outside. Honestly didn't think we would get served, the place was very busy and it was clear that it had been super busy all day. Was let into the shop at 5: 55PM, looking for Male skis, poles, and Women's poles and boots. We had been to the Norseman in the morning, and they were out of stock - we didn't hold out much hope given current demand during COVID. Turns out that lifesport was also out of the right size boots, skis, and poles as well. HOWEVER. Peter found us some last year's rental poles and cut them down to size for us. He then went through his shipped goods (that had not yet been received in the system and weren't technically for sale) and kitted us out with boots and skis. The store closes at 6PM and we walked out of the store at 7: 20PM fully kitted with everything that we needed. ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE SERVICE by both Peter and George. Could not be happier with the customer service we received. The guys are obviously rushed off their feet with the current XC demand, but went above and beyond in sorting us out with equipment. Peter was like a man possessed, running all over the place trying to find us the gear to ensure we left the store with what we needed to ski. Strongly recommend this store.
Excellent service and a good selection for xc ski boots (a nice bonus since the rest of the city seems to have little to no stock in the soze we were looking for).

Came to Lifesport to replace very old XC skis. Sam was very helpful and provided top level service when dealing with my family. Didn't try and upsell us into anything we wouldn't need, and he took the time to fully explain the differences in the new technology used in XC skis. Very satisfied, would recommend both Sam and Lifesport for any XC ski needs.
I just had to replace the wheels on my son's roller skis (for afternoon practice, of course). Called up LifeSport this morning, they had the wheels in stock and told me to bring my roller skis in. They installed the wheels on the spot, and the price (including installation) was 10% less than I could buy on line! Exceptional service and great pricing! Thanks amazing team at LifeSport
Really great spot for disc golf stuff in Calgary. My only gripe with the business is how small the shop is. If they could afford to make it bigger, with more inventory, it would be perfect. That might not be financially possible for them though since being a small business is Calgary is tough. Either way, definitely worth your time and money to give them a look.
Great, knowledgeable service. Lifesport supports many club activities for Foothills Nordic, and so will always be our first stop for ski gear and bike accessories. Their gear swaps are legendary.
Excellent customer service. I wasn’t able to make it to the store before it closed so I paid over the phone and they left my order at the restaurant next door. Certainly above and beyond!
I'm so happy to have a fantastic shop like lifesport in Bowness! I purchased my "the one" bike today and couldn't be happier. I received excellent service, great pricing, and a lifetime of basic tune-ups. You can't go wrong shopping here.
The shop has a ton of selection and they seem to know their stuff but unfortunately there is very minimal signage in Bowness for their new location and I ended up wasting well over an hour trying to track them down. They are in Bowness now.
I’ve always bought my disc golf disc from here, the staff is all very knowledgeable and passionate about the sport. This weekend I brought my bike in to have it serviced after being told it would be a few weeks to get it in at other bikes stores. I dropped it off at 11am and they had it back to me by 2pm. My bike shifts and rides excellent now, I will be returning for all my future services needs and will definitely recommend to all my friends in the area!

I purchased my bikes for my boys here. The staff were super helpful and friendly. They were patient and answered all my questions. I love the fact that when you purchase a bike here you get tune ups for life. I plan on buying a bike for myself and my wife here as well sometime this year, hopefully!
Great place. Went in to have my bike looked at, and the shop tech fixed my issue right away for me right on the spot, when everywhere else said 3 weeks. Will defiantly go back again
