Liquor Depot Brentwood

I’m a regular customer of the Liquor Depot in Brentwood, and I must say it has been an excellent experience. The staff for the most part are nice, they are aways happy to give help, and they always amaze me with their immaculate knowledge on spirits and liquors. One particular figure, Avneet, has been nothing short of perfect. He always welcomes me with a big smile and never fails to make me feel like I am receiving the most pristine customer service. Not to mention, his professionalism and his calm and collective attitude is always a plus.

After all of the positives that are listed, there unfortunately is always a bad apple in the basket, and that is Nammu. Nammu is often very rude and unprofessinal. In the photo attached, you can see the quality of the beer Nammu has given me. It looked extremely disgusting, and I was unable to drink it. Initially, the beer was cloudy, almost in the color of mud water.

Overall, the employees here are great, but Nammu is not a representative I would approach for help.

This is a really big liquor store with great variety. There is always an individual available at the front to ring you through quickly. The product is nicely faced & presentable.

This is my favorite liquor store by far, not only have a good selection and variety of alcoholic drinks. The customer service is really good, they are not trying to sell, they are triying make you find exactly what you are looking for.

My favorite thing is the possibility to refill your own growler with craft beer, always good options available to taste and discover good beers.

I would like to higlight the good atittude and recomendations received from Jared and Avneet.

Probably best selection in the city. However docking 3 stars. They purposely increase prices on almost everything compared to other liquor depot and wine & beyond. Most likely due to proximity to the University, gouging its customers. Most craft beer is 3 to 5 dollars more per pack compared to wine and beyond (which IS liquor depot). They also rip you off on tallboy cans. Ontario charges 3.25 for premium craft beer per can. You're telling me taxes Jack's it up to 6.50 or more? Yeah right. Pretty much everything has an inflated price at this location. Stop ripping students off. Jesus christ.pathetic.

Worst customer service ever. It's true from previous comment they don't really care about their service.

Great selection of craft beer, wines, Spirits. No draft beer at the moment, which is too bad. Prices are competitive and feature sales. Good parking. Easy access.

I am not sure if it was coincidence but when I was there the employees only checked IDs on Asians. There were couple of caucasians and few Asian customers in the store. The employees accepted payment from caucasian customers right away but they asked IDs just on Asian customers

The prices are very high and worse than that the customer service is horrible. I had an experience at this location a few months ago that I’d like to share. I and some of my friends were shopping near here and I decided to go in and get something. They were all in a conversation and I stepped in, so they followed me in, and once they realized where they were they stepped outside (in the buffer section) to continue their conversation and wait for me. I picked out a pack of some overpriced beer, brought it to the counter and was refused service because one of my friends (practically outside the store) didn’t have her ID on her.

Set aside the fact that we are all in our 30s, I was really upset by how the cashier behaved towards my friend even though we were are being polite and it wasn't a big deal for us to not get the beer. At some point, she turned to another cashier and started talking in a rude tone and for everyone to hear: “I don’t know why some people keep doing this. How hard is it to remember it’s illegal to walk inside a liquor store without an ID? ” First of all, that is NOT true (at least in Alberta). I can be inside a liquor store and not have my ID (if that was true, you would have to card at the door like at a casino), secondly, where did you learn how to treat customers? It wasn’t enough to embarrass my friend by refusing service even though >I< was buying and >she< was almost outside the store, they made a rude and incorrect remark to convince me never to go back there again.

There is an excellent Ace Liquor and a Co-op Liquor Store within 3 minutes driving distance. I recommend everyone to take my lead and take their business somewhere where they are respected.

The beer selection has dropped so much. And most of the other selections are less expensive elsewhere. Can't blame the staff for the service. It feels like company policies have led to silly protocol.

Nice store with great variety and selection. Staff however is extremely rude and discriminatory. Would not recommend shopping here given the variety of other options near by.

The cashier is super rude and on a power trip and likely quite homophobic. Yelled at customers in line. Will not be back.

A very large selection of local and imported beverages and drink accessories. Staff are knowledgeable and very helpful. Some amazing prices.

It's like cheers when you walk in there and they say hello. They're very good bunch in there prices are reasonable

Best Whisk (e) y selection I've ever seen at a Liquor Depot. Doesn't matter if your looking for Scotch, Bourbon, Irish, or Canadian. There's a good chance they carry it.

Called and asked for Blantons Gold. Was assured they had two bottles at $109 per and would be on hold under my name. Told him I was an hour and forty minutes away. I would see him soon.
Manager vitod my purchase and I can't have them now.i explai ed I'm 3 hours round trip into this and all I got was a shrug.asked the manager to call me.this is 2 days later and still no call?

Cashier would not allow me to pay without first seeing my friends ID who was in line behind me waiting to pay for their own stuff separately.

I don't mind this store. Once in a while the deals are good. Always it has a great selection. It's a great store. Nice and open.

First time going to this location. The store is huge with a great selection, but some of the staff are on a bit of a power trip when it comes to checking IDs.

If my girlfriend and I are paying separately for our own items, we should individually be checked for ID at the register. But I was asked to show ID before I reached the till, while standing in line. To put it plainly: the cashier wouldn’t let my gf buy her alcohol until she saw another customer’s ID. What if we were just strangers?

The employee asked me to flip my license over, to ensure it was real, which has never happened to me before (I’m 27 years old with a full beard and wrinkles - I rarely get ID’d, because most employees have good common sense). Maybe the laws have intensified or something, but I just found it strange and unwelcoming.

Excellent selection of higher end liquor. Prices are on the higher side but they always have items in stock.

Anytime I'm looking for something limited edition or special this place has it. Great prices, huge selection.

Fantastic staff. Spacious. Deals everywhere. Lots of selection. Tristan's especially pleasant to deal with. I could see that guy becoming manager one day. He's got all the qualities of a leader and a gentleman. Wow, I mean, that Tristan guy really makes buying booze a delightful and educational experience. So friendly too! Ask him about sake!

The teeny bopper you have working this Friday evening touching peoples products unnecessary (why don’t you scan from afar?), asking to physically TAKE ID (why do you need to touch it?), making people remove masks, “sanitizing” pens with a gross paper towel reused god know how many times.all show you don’t have the proper employee training, equipment, policies/procedures to be open during this time. I won’t be back.

The only star this place has is Al the wine guy, every other employee is rude and not worth your time.

Good service, just make sure to bring some ID as the store policy is to ID you if you look under 40, not 25. Al the wine guy is definitely an MVP and will find you great stuff.

When i asked about a product they showed unwelcoming attitude and were not helpful at all. I would rate zero star if possible.

Impolite, bad mannered, tactless & arrogant cashier. Seemed like a part timer, does not work at the store anymore. Hope nobody faces what we did.

Very large collection of everything from hand-craft local brews, international wine, to three thousand dollars whiskey. It's like treasure trove full of surprises, and the occasional super deals.

Went in on new year's eve.there was a rent a cop in at the front door, with his hands tucked into his bulletproof vest. He was very rude made me feel like I stole something just for walking in. "I.d. " he said not even "hey happy new years can I please see your I.d. " or a smile when he handed it back. Then I got asked for my I.d. Again at the register! Atleaste that guy was nice about it.
It's a large store not a very good selection of cases of coolers. They did have a couple gluten free ones but not much.
I wont go back though because I dont know if it's always or just for special holidays. Either way that experience made me extremely uncomfortable.

Great selection of cans and bottles, plus a growler bar with samples. What more do you need to pick a brew?

For a liquor depot this place is absolutely massive. Amazing selections of beer, wine and spirits. Not too many specials going on in this location. Super friendly and knowledgeable staff at this location.

Great prices and awesome selection. A pretty wide selection of craft beer but still missing some key installations of other provinces while managing to fill half the cold room with bud lite and coors

My experience with Al was fantastic. From the moment I called in to ask about a product until I picked it up Al was extremely respectful and knowledgeable.

Love their wine collection. Super helpful staff and would guide you to right personnel if they do not have knowledge about any product.

Great selection and well-lit open spaced store, but what sets this place apart is the staff. They have a fantastic attitude and willingness to help. If you're standing around looking puzzled you can expect somebody to walk up and try to help you.

Massive selection, but the prices leave something to be desired. A mark up from many other stores in the city, but being open so late is definitely an added bonus

I usually have a great time at this liquor store, they are usually pretty sweet, not very helpful, but they have amazing customer service most of the time to make up for that.

I went there yesterday evening though, and one of the male clerks was being extremely rude to me, and very impatient. He made me feel so unwelcome and uncomfortable. Maybe he had a bad day, but as someone who works in the customer service industry I would never treat my customers this poorly. It was just a really bad experience, and I will definitely go to a different liquor depot next time probably the one in North Hill.

I get asked for ID for age verification, so it is two stones with one bird. You buy cheap beer, local Red Valley brand is cheap and quality, and you get complimented on how young you look!

They turned light off while I was parking.
I came at 1: 45am and they are supposed to be open till 1: 55am as they said.
I guess they dont want to serve last minute customer.

Just had a very bad customer exprerience there.
Good selection a beer.
Nice growler bar.
More expensive in general.
Most of the younger guys have no knowledge in beer.
The staff used to be very polite and friendly, it is not the case anymore.
Coop Crowfoot have better price and a better selection of Sour, Gueuze, lambic and at least the guy there knows his stuff.
Tilquin, Cantillon, Cascade etc.

Ended up grabbing a couple things that wouldnt scan in properly but the cashier was able to look them up very quickly and was cheerful through the whole ordeal:)
