I had such a wonderful experience with the phone call consultation with Sherri. When I wasn’t able to find comprehensive information on how to remedy my breastfeeding issues through family doctor visits or contradictory google results, Sherri was able to provide the clarity and solutions I needed! I felt like she truly cared about helping me with my needs. I definitely recommend Little Nursing Company to others who want peace of mind as well.

When I called for help, Melissa was here to help me the same day, knew exactly what was wrong with with why Baby wasn't getting enough milk (tongue tie), and she immediately went into action to set me up with a pump rental I got the same day, put me on a pump schedule to save my (at this point almost depleted) supply, gave me a supplementary nursing system to try and save my breastfeeding relationship, recommended a professional to fix the tongue tie, and was SO very attentive, kind, and knowledgeable. It was an incredible experience, and I've recommended her to all of my friends with babies! From her knowledge, her kindness, and attentiveness, she was the best help I could have ever hoped for!

Thanks to Melissa I was able to get my supply back up, and baby is now 100% breastmilk-fed! She was always available when I needed advice, comfort, or information, and even initiated contact to check in! I was at my absolute lowest, terrified, and tearful, and she absolutely saved my sanity as well as my baby!

Melissa saved us!

My little one fussed and cried for weeks. The pediatrician and midwife all shrugged this off saying that some babies are fussy. It turned out he had bad tongue and lip ties, which Melissa helped us fix THAT DAY by referring us to other professionals. Now he eats substantially better and has maintained weight well.
We love Melissa and wish we contacted her sooner.

Cannot recommend Little Nursing Company enough! Mychelle was so helpful and gave us lots of great tips for breastfeeding and general newborn care. I loved the package that came with text messaging/calling for 2 weeks - that was a huge comfort for me during the first bit with our newborn, being able to text her and ask any questions. Every mom-to-be needs to do themselves a favour and book with Mychelle!

Melissa and Sherri were so helpful. They came to my home and answered all of my questions and gave me tips and techniques to focus on. When they left I had so much more confidence. I’m so glad I booked and wish I would have done this with my first child!

Melissa was so wonderful. She was flexible and communicative, and we were able to arrange a home visit within just a few days.

This is critical for those early days when establishing a supply, and definitely something that sets this group apart since seeing a lactation consultant through Alberta Health can take up to 6 weeks.

During our visit, which was lengthy and never felt rushed, she observed my baby eating, her latch, examined for a possible tongue tie and made a recommendation to see a pediatric dentist for further observation of my baby’s tongue and palate.

She also fitted me properly for my pump flange, and to my surprise, my proper fit was much smaller than recommended by public health nurses.

Afterward, Melissa checked in by text to make sure things were going well.

Breastfeeding can be incredibly stressful and in my experience most physicians (including pediatricians) and most nurses don’t have the level of training that RN lactation consultants have to help guide new parents through the process.

In addition to providing wonderful expertise, Melissa was also a kind and calming presence in our home, and helped alleviate some of the stress I was feeling as a result of my breastfeeding related interactions with the health system.
