I've been going to Living Well since late 2020 and it has been nothing but a pleasure since the start. My experience with Heather Nolin has been that she is very professional, an excellent listener, and always helps steer me in the right direction. I have a habit of doing a lot of talking and she has a way of directing my self-monologue in a direction that leads to a lot of self-discovery which we then discuss and help reinforce the good behaviours I have been able to develop. I really could not recommend an organization as highly as I do Living Well.

I can't speak for the rest of the therapists, which is why I didn't give the absolute lowest score, but I can say that you should absolutely not ever speak to a therapist who claims to be good with eating disorders if they hear you say "I might have binge eating disorder" and they tell you to eat intuitively and not care about your weight. That approach typically only works for people who already have good eating habits. This is especially egregious considering that I have established that I am very overweight for my size and was rapidly approaching obesity (I have since lost ~20lbs on my own, but not before acknowledging my binge triggers). If I "eat intuitively" at this point in time I'll still be eating too much, and I'll regain anything I've lost and then some. "Not caring" about my weight is also not an option until I get back to a healthy weight. I also was given absolutely no useful information about the eating disorder and felt like my concerns were basically dismissed. I didn't ask you what you thought about my plans, and it's not your body. If you can't support my attempt at healthy weight loss and help me overcome my disorder without giving bad advice, I don't care what else you have to say. I'm not asking to be counselled into obesity. Also, telling me that "most people gain back the weight" without giving information about WHY by quantifying how many of them had eating disorders to start with, or developed them after losing weight like I did (many years ago), or even HOW they lost the weight, is dangerous and stupid. A statistic like that is meaningless without details. Note that it's also false - don't let anyone kill your hope if your goal is to lose weight, and don't listen to them at all if they ever cite this "statistic".

I highly recommend Jodie Purnell from Living Well Counselling. As a member of the counselling profession, I am regularly referring clients to Jodie. I trust Jodie’s professionalism, knowledge, and compassion. I cannot tell you how grateful I am to have a trusted colleague to rely on.

I worked at this place and highly recommending it!

If you are a therapist and reading this, know that your hard work will be noticed, appreciated, and even rewarded! This adds to great job satisfaction.

If you are a client and reading this, the owner has excellent customer service skills, not only she herself does, but the whole administrative team. She makes sure no body is turned away, AND therapy is accessible to all even those who cannot afford the $200 hourly rate.

Let me start off with how my condition was before I had my sessions with my therapist Beverly. I was pretty down in the dumps, spiraling into depression due to self esteem and work issues. My progress with Beverly was steady and I consistently worked with her on my problems, how to address them and what homework I could do to make improvement. It took a lot work and consistency, but Beverly does made it easy on my journey to fixing my mindset and learning how to deal with conflicts. If you believe you need counseling or just need to improve your mental health, I would definitely recommend Beverly!

Khobi Attai is the best therapist I have ever had. She loves what she does, and it shows. She's so knowledgable about her craft that I was sometimes astounded.
It's not just her technical knowledge though. She's easy to open up to, and that's probably the most important thing you can have in a therapist.
She never pushed me further than I was willing to go, but she was always there when I needed her. She wasn't just someone I paid to talk to, she was my friend.
I don't know where I would be if I hadn't met Khobi. I'm just really glad I did. She changed my life.

Working with Katherine has been such a gift. I reached out to Living Well about six months ago for help with anxiety. I have probably been experiencing some level of anxiety all my life but by December it had become clear to me that it was affecting my quality of life. I was functioning, but I wanted to do better than just function. I wanted to experience happiness and wellbeing. I reached out to Living Well and was paired with Katherine.

It's difficult for me to put into words how grateful I am for the experience. From our first session Katherine was warm, compassionate, caring and an incredible listener. She taught me some wonderfully effective techniques for managing my thought processes and physiological responses to stress that have significantly reduced my anxiety. Now, when anxious feelings arise, I have the tools to examine them, take the necessary steps to address them and/or let them go.

Of course, applying these techniques has and will continue to be an ongoing learning process, but it truly feels as though what I have learned from Katherine has given me my life back. I now experience moments of peace and happiness unlike I had ever experienced before.

Even through the Covid-19 pandemic, Katherine and I have continued to meet online. The online platform has been great and the meetings have been just as effective as they would have been in person.

Thank you so much to Katherine and Living Well.

I’ve been doing phone sessions with Jennifer for a few months now and I can’t believe the difference in my quality of life in such a short period of time. She helped me with my anxiety issues as well as a few others. I had no idea how deep I was into a bad place until she helped me get out of it and get back to being the happy person I wanted to get back to being. Even my wife says I’m a completely different person, I’m always happy, not being bothered by every little issue and not dwelling on things. Even if you don’t think it’s that bad take the time to speak with Jennifer, it’s life changing.

I emailed the appointment person who didn't reply until I sent them a 2nd email 5 days later.the booking person put me contact with a therapist who was booking appointments 4 to 5 weeks out.the therapist and I discussed some appointment times and where about to schedule them but then she explained their billing policy to me.they require payment in advance of all sessions.they will bill you 2 days prior to your appointment. I wasn't on board with this because normally professionals bill people after they do work/perform the service. I asked the therapist if she had to cancel on me would they credit my credit card the same amount.of course they would not. No thanks Living Well.
