I called to book 4 times and specifically requested to have a connecting room. I even called one more time before arrival to make sure it’s a connecting rooms. Every each agent I spoke to guaranteed me for a connecting room. I cancelled my booking in Hinton where I got guaranteed for a connecting room and to book here because it’s in Jasper downtown and they told me I can get a connecting room.
And of course, after entering the room. IT IS NOT CONNECTING ROOM. The agent who checked me in doesn’t even know what is connecting room. We have kid and want our family to be close together so my daughter could run around.
The room is actually good enough for our stay. It’s clean and enough of space.
Down point that there’s no microwave in the room. The elevator is very outdated though.

Well the rooms are clean and staff are friendly. Place is getting run down. Paint peeling in bathroom. Outdoor hot tub and price point were the reason for staying here. Would stay here again but wouldn’t be my first pick.

My experience was hopefully rare since it was not positive at all.
The room smelled of pet urine and there was a damp area on the carpet. I suspect the soiled area was not cleaned professionally. We asked for a different room but they had no available rooms in the same price category and only higher priced rooms were available that we would have to pay extra for. They sent someone from housekeeping to spray the damp area with disinfectant which didn't help. The room was also hot with only a fan which barely kept us cool.
Thankfully we were only there one night. The room itself was a nice size with comfortable beds and a nice bathroom. Just sad that they didn't care enough to not make us suffer from a previous guest's mistake.

The rooms are WAY too hot.near unbearable! Thank goodness they do put a fan in the room, though! Other than that, the room we stayed in was lovely. All of the staff that we dealt with there absolutely went above and beyond. Very down to earth yet professional employees. The location is just as nice.away from the busy parts of town and very close to walking/jogging trails. Can't wait to jead back in 2024!
16 September 2023 23:29
Poor management. Haven’t paid me back my deposit of $100. It’s been 2 months. Playing games with me whenever i call and wasting my time.
11 September 2023 4:43
Too pricey for the service. We paid more than 325 per night just for a basement room. No ac or heat also no microwave I the room.need to consider the pricing. Location is good

We ordered the family suite, but got something else (be sure the picture you are looking at is indeed what you are buying). Fortunately, the friendly staff made the change and we enjoyed a mostly comfortable stay.
07 January 2023 0:45
We booked the queen room but should have booked the suite with kitchen! Way more space and convenient!

Welcome back to 1980, from the swirly patterned brown and gold curtains with matching arm chairs to patterned carpets. Even the front steps into the hotel are carpet.
Almost unexpectedly consideting its 1980 theme the hotel wasn't tired or run down - a travellodge standard if your british. If you don't like lifts particularly however, take the stairs, it makes some noises that would make a nervous passenger celebrate they made it to the next floor.

Services; reception polite. Pool area not working, use a neighbouring hotels. Cafe closed and any room cleaning is only if requested.

Rooms; stuffy and dark. Like bring a torch dark. There is no ceiling light, only low wattage lamps if you want to look in your suitcase after dark youll be greatfuk your phone has a torch. Forget about reading a book even under the lamp. The bounciest beds ever, don't jump into bed unless you want your partner to make a plank positioned exit off the side or in the least obtain whiplash.
The toilet is better suited to a 6year old than a 6foot human

The walls are also paper thin. So if a neighboring room decides they are up at 5am so are you! Or you can just lye in bed listening to their word for word conversation. If you've got kids, just imagine what else you can get a perfect audio of.

But, all that said. Jasper is beautiful. So if its in your budget and you want to visit jasper go for it. You'll live to tell the tale, and it's only a ten minute walk into the center (the length of jasper being a 20 minute walk)
06 November 2022 16:51
I expected better from the Pursuit Group! Outdated rooms, bed was uncomfortable and one of the front desk staff was incredibly rude. There are much better places to stay in Jasper, we will not be returning to the Lobstick!
12 October 2022 5:58
Couldn’t find parking so we had to park down the street. No AC and there was a very weird odour in our room (like someone went to the bathroom on the carpet). We had to unplug the TV since there was a loud noise coming from it. $420 for this room seems VERY VERY VERY unreasonable for the type of quality and service that the hotel provides. At least Jasper was nice!
29 September 2022 17:14
Meh. Large room but other than that can’t say more than just ok. Cafe in the hotel is not open right now. As other reviews said it is quite dated. For the price per night I would have expected more, but being right in Jasper likely accounts for the cost.
20 September 2022 15:45
Nous avions une chambre avec kitchenette pour 4. La déco est un peu vieillotte mais la chambre est bien équipée, et la piscine et les bains bouillonnants, très appréciables. Un bon rapport qualité-prix pour Jasper!
06 September 2022 0:26
We stayed in a 1 br unit.
Paid 350 CAD / night which is ok for a 1 br unit in August.
The value was so-so: no AC and a very hot room, noisy - windows facing the street, kitchen has no dishwasher, most power outlets not working.
The demand seems high as they were fully booked.
03 November 2021 9:21
This place wasn't the best I've stayed at, but it can do for 1-2 nights. The offer to eat breakfast, lunch and dinner at a DIFFERENT hotel was odd. I booked a double bed room, and received 2 towels only? The pool, hot tub, sauna and spa was the highlight of this place, but it needs to be renovated. The third floor rooms are nice, but 2nd and 1st are disappointing. No AC just a table fan.
30 October 2021 3:24
Great hotel for the cost. Awesome that there's an outdoor hot tub that's a good size; however, would have liked there to be later hours. 10pm close is a bit early when people are getting in from hikes etc. Most other hotels in and around Banff have their hot tub open till 11pm for adults.
13 October 2021 1:52
Nice pool, but if you need things air-conditioned, this isn't the place to be. Good access to trails and stuff in Jasper.
09 October 2021 3:38
Overall nice hotel, spacious rooms, plus having a little kitchen with stove/fridge/microwave was great. The staff were super friendly & quick to follow up with any requests. The sauna was also nice to have.

The main con is no AC. The room was super hot, even with fans on we couldn't sleep with any covers, the night was almost unbearable. Perhaps this would be a better option for a winter trip.
29 September 2021 17:41
Very old! Really needs an upgrade!
No Air Conditioning on a very hot day! During the heat wave, they decided to turn off the A/C in the rooms. You can tell they are working in the hallways but for some reason, maybe overloading, the A/C in each room are OFF! Gave us a couple tiny electric fans, but that all! You can hear everything too! You’re not gonna get a good nights sleep! Not recommended!
27 September 2021 8:38
Very friendly and helpful front desk staff but I cannot recommend booking here during the Summer. The rooms do not have AC and hold in the heat during the night time. Our booking site stated that each room comes with "climate control" but this may have been written in error.
25 September 2021 14:08
Okay room. No Ac and uncomfortable pillows. Parking lot always full and had to park quite a walk away. Loud neighbours and many neighbours cooking late at night.
25 September 2021 11:22
Lobstick lodge was really nice and comfortable to stay in with the 2 king beds in our room. Very friendly and helpful staff. The pool, hot tub with the sauna was amazing. The sauna was not hot at all but it was ok. The ac was not working too but we were still able to get good sleep and stay cool inside due to fans and windows because it was cooler in jasper outside.
24 September 2021 3:44
I do not recommend. If I could rate lower than a 1 star, I would. The price doesn’t match the quality and experience you would expect for a $300+/night room. We were stuck in a basement room and it reminds me of something out of a Wes Craven film. The rooms don’t have AC and we were told to fill buckets full of ice to cool our rooms off. Pffft
The floor boards/joist creak when other guests walk around above us, and we’re right below the lobby. Needless to say we didn’t get any sleep. Parking? Good luck…
This is the last stop on of my 3 week vacation and hands down the worst.
23 September 2021 14:37
No air conditioning and it’s smoking hot in the room. Bed is broken. Not enough outlets. Kettle cord doesn’t reach the outlet. Parking lot is poorly lit although there is a bright light shining in the window. The only redeeming quality is that it seems clean.
04 September 2021 18:30
Clean and convenience place.
Can use some upgrade and renovation. Not enough guest parking. You may have to park 3 blocks away
01 September 2021 12:13
Quite expensive and it was shocking to find that the rooms don't have air-conditioning. Parking is also limited. The kids enjoyed the swimming pool though
30 August 2021 5:23
Do not recommend.if the price was this much we were expecting the rooms to look nicer. Almost $300 just for one night without AC too!
29 August 2021 0:38
No air conditioning or mention of lack there of in the online reservation. Would have stayed somewhere else once we found out but they have a no refund policy because we booked online. So we slept with the windows open only to find out our room was right by the smoking area and second hand smoke wafted right into the room. There were people up smoking and talking all hours of the night so we closed the windows and dealt with the heat.

The old wood construction makes the noise from the hallways unbearably loud as people and their pets stomp up back and forth.

The restaurant was closed the whole time we were there.

Staff were friendly during check in and check out.

WAYYY over-priced, I would not recommend this hotel.
27 August 2021 8:31
The front desk representative Michael is soo friendly, ready to help. He is just awesome. This is our first trip to Jasper, he helped us out to plan our trip in a sequence with out wasting time and we follow the same. Rooms are up to expectations and everything went well. We loved the stay.
26 August 2021 9:38
This hotel has no air conditioning. So if you plan to go during the hot season, make sure you ask for extra fans for the room or stay at the lower lever room.
24 August 2021 6:00
The rooms are spacious. I loved having two king beds! But it’s definitely dated and the “breakfast deal” with the neighbouring hotel restaurant didn’t seem like a ‘deal’ at all. AND there was no AC - which probably isn’t the biggest deal on most days in the mountains, but we were in Jasper on a +34 degree Celsius summer day, and it wasn’t the most comfortable at night. They did provide a fan though. But had to have the curtains wide open to get the benefit of the open window breeze at night - and being that there are rooms right across - there is limited privacy.

We purchased the room through airmiles - so it was affordable. But the regular price is way more than I would ever spend for what it is. But generally it was well located and the room was not bad.
20 August 2021 13:28
Nightmare. I stayed for 2 nights, we were the only ones in our hallway to close our door. The room 215 directly beside the main office had their windows open and were having a full blown party. We had to go to complain to the desk in person to get some quiet to SLEEP in the ROOM we PAYED for to SLEEP IN. The staff watched the room beside them fill up and heard all the noise through their own window directly beside. The main desk had no problem with them; or the other guest partying loudly out in the open in the middle of the night in the rooms directly off the lobby. You would think that WITH the manager being behind the desk the standard would have been a touch higher. People were yelling and blasting their tv's from their open rooms.you would think staff would request people to close their doors at the very least if they're gonna live in the hallways.
Stay here if you want to experience a frathouse. And if you would like to see into every other room in your hall and hear every single noise they make.
Also, the only hotel ive walked into at night where none of the desk staff said hello.nothing much hospitable here
17 August 2021 22:48
Won’t be staying here again. Arrive a few mins early and were told the room wasn’t cleaned yet. Then found out there is no AC - which is crazy in this day and age. Had the “deluxe room” which we were under the impression had a kitchenette (as per the picture) - nope, just a mini fridge. We were told Jasper “gets cold at night so you should be fine”… ridiculous for the outrage price we paid. The building is run down and shabby looking. Trying to find a different hotel as I write this.
14 August 2021 9:00
Solid 3.5 star hotel. Price matches what you're paying for but was very happy with how clean the rooms were for a hotel at this level and price point. Staff were friendly and we had no issues.
14 August 2021 8:38
2 star hotel at a 4.5 star price. By far the most expensive hotel we stayed in on a trip with 7 hotel stops. No air conditioning, no microwave in the room. Great location. No early check in. Wish Kasper had a Holiday Inn or Best Western. Better value in a chain hotel.
13 August 2021 21:42
If I was able to give an evaluation lower than this one, I will certainly give it. The oven is out-dated, i think he is older than me. There is no Climatisation. If you have young kids like me, they will love to play with those electric cable. It smell something strange on the room and it's very hot.
It's very expensive. I am really happy to stay only one night. 2 nights would be a nightmare.
If you have nowhere to sleep, I strongly recommend to camp around.
The first level is a basement.

I’ve only stayed in Jasper two times, so I don’t have a broad grasp of hotels in JASPER, but have stayed at a ton of hotels between work and travel… The rooms were almost 400$ each a night (I had two rooms, double king beds for both), and for the value it was abysmal.

The rooms smelt musky and stale, and the hotel has no AC. One room didn’t have a fan either.
The beds are super soft and the sink in the bathroom is really low and small.
The door hinge in my room was so squeaky I’m sure you could hear it in the next hotel over.

The pool, dry sauna and hot tub (hot tub wasn’t hot at all) were clean and acceptable.
The wifi was spotty at best throughout the hotel room.

However the staff at checkin and checkout were super helpful and friendly and I was happy with the desk service!

Overall, if you get the hotel rooms for cheap, they’ll do the job, but they’re not worth the prices they charge!

The Lobstick isn't the best but way better than Athabasca Hotel.

The Lobstick isn't too bad; exception of there being absolutely no air conditioning.
23 July 2021 19:34
I mean hey, it's got the only Starbucks in town, that's pretty cool. They also let us use the bathroom free of charge.:)
