The worst experience and the worst drivers as well. Heading home they almost made me crash my car and my small kids were at the back. Definitely not recommend

My husband and I learned about the business through the Next Door app. We went to the north east location in Calgary and were given friendly advice and recommendations on how to repair our Honda Civic key fob. Thanks for the great service!

Will not be doing business with these con artists again! The technician came out to look at a door before providing me a quote and then wanted to charge me an extra hour of labour just to source the parts for the repair. I am sorry but finding the parts are part of your job, I shouldn't have to pay extra for that. What's next - they will bill the client for lunch breaks too? When I declined the quote (because it was ridiculous), he demanded to be paid on the spot for his time in a pushy manner. These guys are more concerned with making money before doing any actual work. Call someone else before you get ripped off.

We needed our locks changed for our 3 office doors. Lock Surgeon was able to come out with in a couple of hours. Pricing was reasonable and service was fantastic.

Service tech Nahum was excellent. I would give him 5 stars.

However, the company itself you will never get anyone to call you back.

Charged to come out (which was expected and understood), didn’t have part on the truck even though it’s one of the 5 most common window types in Calgary…. Charged me $125 to go back to their shop to get the part (if they asked brand of window at time of making appointment they could have brought most likely parts from shop with them. Then it was $159 for an hour of work that was actually about 10 minutes to remove and replace the part. $40 for a "cleaning/part/grease" fee - took out two screws and put two back in - nothing was cleaned or greased at all. Price gouging every single step of the way.

I would not recommend this company to my worst enemy.

Horrible experience, very rude behaviour, HIGHLY OVERPRICED I don’t recommend to anyone, they charged me 5 times higher price of what others charge.

I knew there was a call out fee. What I didn't know what I would get a quote of $800 to fix the lock mechanism on my patio door, including an hour of labour, and another $130 charge to go get the part. Took my lumps, paid the call out fee, and sent them on their way. Technician was very polite and helpful, but pricing is out to lunch.

Jason did a fantastic job! Friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and able to explain different possibilities and drawbacks. We are very happy with our repair and lock replacements. Reached and finished the job in given time window. Giving 4stars just because price was quite expensive than I expected.

I went all over Calgary trying to get an old specialty cabinet lock repaired as replacement is no longer an option and no locksmiths would even attempt to help me but the young gentleman at the lock surgeon on 32 Ave. Took it apart and reassembled it to working condition, I was so pleased with the service, definitely appreciated them going out of their way to keep my business safe and secure! Thanks guys!

Our service and installation guy Jason did an excellent job walking us thru our many options to upgrade our security with new locks and products. He walked me thru programming and did a great job cleaning up after the installation. He put in the extra effort to install stuff cleanly and professionally and showed up for our appointment on time, which was greatly appreciated. Happy customer!

Yesterday Gabe attended our service call. He was right on time, very polite, funny, and direct. He advised us of exactly what needed to be done, the cost, how much time it would take, and the weather implications of both the work and the outcome (given it was -30C at the time). We will absolutely use Lock Surgeon in the future, and will request Gabe.

Way way overpriced, stopped in and asked for a car cylinder to be re-keyed ($400) and a new chip key programmed for same cylinder ($400). Just had the same work done by Calgary lock and safe for $330

I called to get a "ballpark" price to replace my old 32" storm door. $2k seems a bit steep! Maybe they have very special doors but Im going to Lowes.
Update: I've been quoted $1500 from another company to replace 2 storm doors with Larson brand doors, all in. Keep shopping! There are much better deals out there.

Avoid at all cost. The only company in Calgary that will charge you 98.00 for a quote. Their message is deceiving saying "Quotes are free".
You are getting a free lead and you charge for a quote.no wonder you have so many 1 star reviews.

Haha, what a rip-off! Shop around before calling these guys. $471 for a simple mailbox lock replacement, including a minimum $195/hr charge for a 10 min job. Needless to say, I didn’t accept the quote, but still paid the $89 call out fee (stupid tax on my part).

We asked for a quote for a screen door installation. They wouldn't give us one until they came out and charged us $90 "service call". Then they said it would be $1900! For a screen door? Are you insane? The door itself is about $300 from Home Depot. Avoid this company.

Bought a new house and wanted to change the locks. We called and were told of an 89$ service fee, and that they would not comment on how much the job would cost until the service. The work ended up costing 545$, of which 89$ was the service fee, and 390$ was labor (they do not break down there fee per hour, just charge a lump sum). The work took less than 1 hour to complete!

Will not be using again.

Wish no star was an option. Stay away from these guys. I wish I would have seen the reviews before booking. $226 to cut a padlock that took 30 seconds. Waste of time!

I had a great experience this morning with Derrick. I needed his help to fix my front door latch and alignment. He was friendly, on time, and completed his work in a timely manner.

We used Lock Surgeon for the first time to address a front door and garage man door that were no longer closing properly. Nahum solved our problematic doors with professionalism and a friendly personality. I would recommend Lock Surgeon and Nahum for your door needs.

Good service and fast too. I felt like a valued customer. Prices are very good as well. I'll be back.

Major push to upsell additional items. I'm all good with the service charge, need to pay a guy for his time to come have a look and give an estimate but I though $800 to change a thumb lock and re-key two other locks was pretty expensive. Had him replaced the thumb lock because that was necessary and that cost $300. The final kick and what caused me to write this review was when I went to go home for the day and lock up the lock he replaced was a different size and was hitting on the door frame. Obviously he didn't test the lock with the door closed or he would have realized that. So I had to grind away part of the door frame in order to lock up and go home. The guy was super nice but just found it very expensive and pretty poor quality.

If I could give negative stars, I would. First, the prices for a simple job were extortionate. Second, no one would give me the name of the person in charge of the company. Third, I was charged twice for the same work.

Wish I had read the reviews on this company prior to having them do work for me. I had two man doors that required adjustments. The young man who came was very polite and professional but the charge for the job was $496……. Simply unbelievable. I’ve hired numerous contractors over the years to do similar sized jobs and had expected the cost would be about $200. I would never again use Lock Surgeon to do work for me.

Went in to get lockset and push handle for a door. Both guys were helpful and even explained to me how to install.

Terrible experience. $149 for a service call, which doesn't include anything but that! That doesn't even come off your labour! This should be disclosed when you book a service. When I pointed this out, the rather snippy woman told me it was my responsibility to ask. Are you kidding me? It is always disclosed when you book a service for any kind of repair in your house! I guess they don't tell you because who in their right mind would book a service with this company, unless you have money to burn, which I don't. I am feeling very angry, and rather taken advantage of right now. I will say, the technician was very nice. He should go work for a company that doesn't gouge it's customers.

H O R R I B L E - Save yourself the headache and use a different locksmith they guys are a rip off. And when called to speak to a manager or owner, I was hung up on. Service was not explained and then was over charge 3x.

Had Lock Surgeon install a wifi deadbolt on my house. The technicians are professional and very helpful setting everything up. Works on my phone and tablet. Very impressed with level of service and technical knowledge. Highly recommended

Overpriced. Period. Look somewhere else if it's just a simple lock pick for a standard door or else you will spend $400 for a 5 minute job. LOCK SURGEON, DOOR SURGEON, LOCK+DOOR SURGEON are the same people so beware.

This guys are VERY EXPENSIVE!
We were charged $1,272.87 to replace our door closer.
It was for the front door of our warehouse which we don't own we rent
Lesson here is to get a written quote!
They sure don't rely on repeat business

Had a technician come out to look at our door, had removed 2 screws to access the handle and mechanism and had to replace a metal spindle. For one square piece of metal to be replaced cost $550, the part cost $50 and was charged 195/hr including their driving time to get the part, plus the $150 service call. Would Hightly NOT recommend them for anyone. Look elsewhere.

Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service. The man quoted me $900 plus GST for my repair and said he couldn't provide an invoice until after payment was processed and they ended up charging me $1,400! I have sent 5 emails to accounting asking them to adjust the cost and they are ignoring me. This company needs to refund me close to $400 dollars! Absolutely criminal.

Outrageously expensive! Will never use these guys again for parts or service. If you are entertaining the idea of using Lock Surgeon do yourself a favour and shop somewhere else. Their customer service is a bloody joke as well.

The handset and lockset on our 20+ year old storm door had something break internally this spring. The door wouldn't latch so we were lucky we didn't have to depend on it for security, but we still wanted it replaced. Our original invoice for the door and hardware didn't indicate a brand name and neither did the hardware, itself.

I decided to try Lock Surgeon as they had been around many years. It was well worth driving across the city as Derek got on the phone as soon as he saw my old hardware. It turned out that our lockset was quite obscure for Calgary - it was more of European style, being mortised into the metal door. Nothing in the usual big box stores was going to fit. He located the part in the Edmonton branch and had it brought down. Derek compared it to my old hardware and was very confident it would work out.

Fits perfectly and I was able to install it in a few minutes! It feels more solid than the original, looks sharp and operates well. Thanks, Derek!

Spent 25 min on hold for a dispatch person to connect my call to a number that is not associated with Lock Surgeon. Called Calgary Lock and Safe and within 5 min had my answer.

I have a commercial location. Called in and asked for a estimate. The lady on the phone was very knowledgeable and nice. We need about $6000-$8000 worth of security. When the estimator was on his way he called and advised me there is a $150 fee to do a quote. I told him to cancel and I took my business to another company. I called 2 other companies and they where there the same day to give me a price without a “estimate call out fee”. I ended up purchasing $9700 for the security system with alarm, shutters, etc. Sorry, not willing to pay them to come give me a estimate. Their business plan needs a overhaul.
