Loco Lou's 2.0 Arcade Bar & Grill

I go there quite often. The service is always great. The food is average, what you'd expect of a Pub. However this last time I went there (Wed Dec 6) either the wings or the blue cheese were bad because I felt really bad and I ended up throwing up.

Fun atmosphere. The food is awful - yeasty pizza that's somehow raw and overcooked at the same time - GROSS. The margaritas taste dirty, and everything out of the fountain or slurpess has a dirty taste to it.
If you're drunk, its fine. Staff are 5 stars. They are super great, all of them were so nice. The food kills this place.

A great place that has been around forever! Hadn't been there in about 20 years.still as awesome as I remember!

Cool bar with friendly staff, lots of sait of students, amazing triple drink deals everyday.

Good for summer patio drinks & the service is usually quick. The food/hour hour deals are decent too.

Sure we were there right when they opened but the hostess forgot our drinks, we had to ask the soup of the day 3 times, they cooked my friends meal wrong then charged her the wrong price and had issues refunding her

Best food in all of Calgary highly recommend. And they have an arcade upstairs which is a lot of fun.

All around a great experience every time at Lous. Great food at affordable prices, plenty of drinks and drink specials, and the staff and owner are all amazing. If you're looking for awesome food that won't break the bank, with exceptional service, I highly recommend going in. There is no shortage of entertainment between the numerous tvs, free pool, arcade games, and VLT.

Great place to hang, I come here all the time with my best friend. This time, we had a new lady-Jasmine was a our server and she was great! More attentive than our previous servers, not throwing shade but she was very good at asking if all our needs were met and we liked that, as a busy bar we understand that service is high. Normally we just come for drinks but the last 2 times I came to Lou's the food was delicious, I ordered the beef dip and it was juicy AF.it's actually a little special to me now, I will have fond memories of this place

Our Server was Sid, she knows all about the Gluten Free options and had a great attitude. Management checked on us, also friendly and professional. We will be back!

Myself and some college friends went in last night for a couple drinks, and never have I had worst service in the first 5 minutes of being in an establishment. Firstly the male server said our ID’s were “sus” because we were all from different places, LIKE HE DOESN'T WORK ACROSS THE STREET FROM A COLLEGE WHERE PEOPLE COME FROM EVERYWHERE FOR EDUCATION. Then he decided to send another girl over to check our ID’s and after smacking three pieces of ID down on the table we were able to finally order a drink. Good food and all but if your going in there make sure to bring your birth certificate and others or you might be told your valid ID is “sus”

Ordered shots got them 3 hours later food took 45 minutes to get and order was wrong and still charged me full price even though I had to put the pulled pork on my own burger plus I think it was missing other things ask about my side and the waitress said she didn’t here me say pickle fries even though I saw her write it down but the games are fun other than street fighter which took my money and did nothing

Food/Drinks are very meh for the time it takes to get to your table. Service is incredibly slow and servers are lacking personality. The interior design is unique. 3 stars is a generous review.

We had a new waitress who was just learning. But the service in general was terrible.

Our food took over an hour and our order was mostly wrong. They gave us no compensation. We left very disappointed, and won't be coming back. Our bill repeatedly came back wrong and the waitress seemed to get mad that they were making mistakes.

Came here for a drink and food before a show nearby and our server was great, drinks were a good price and pork tacos were delicious!

Took an hour to get our food when it wasn’t even busy. Waitress messed up our order and completely forgot to put my burger on the bill. Then after reminding them twice about it, it still never came. Everyone else was having issues with their orders including not receiving orders, being double charged, not getting anymore water or utensils or ketchup. I literally have no idea how everything went as wrong as it did and the staff even got frustrated with us like we had somehow ordered wrong. Loco is a good name for this place.

Great servers and great food/drink but the manager Gary belittled our server and made comments on her age and how she was “the oldest one” and is “twice the age of the other servers” and apologized to us because she was our server.

Amazing food and service. Food comes nice and quick and is overall a good time. Great place to quickly grab a beer or two before your next class

Amazing time here! We spent most of our time playing pool (for free), and using the arcade games.

Arrived at 520 to get some food and drinks before the Jim Jeffries show at 7pm. We hoped to sit on the patio because it was 20 and sunny. Patio was closed, everyone inside. We were told to sit anywhere we could - found a spot, took a few minutes for the server to arrive. We ordered a beer and a highball and tried to order a pizza (as it was on special and we saw it was busy so we thought we’d order all at once) but they were out of dough, so we ordered two burgers instead. The drinks came but the highball (vodka and 7) had a piece of dill floating in it and a very strong taste of dill, either the glass wasn’t cleaned or was mixed with a used spoon - not sure. Server didn’t return and served tables around us but didn’t come back even once the beer was finished. We went up and ordered another drink at the bar. To emphasize the strange atmosphere, one of the servers, or a customer, not sure who, threw an empty pitcher on the ground at the bar (seemed like the servers were overwhelmed with the rush and we’re getting angry) Burgers came at 620 and were cooked, but cold and seemed like they’d been sitting in the kitchen for a while - we ate quickly and got the bill just in time to leave to the show. Thankfully the messed up highball wasn’t on the bill, but the whole experience was not awesome. Probably never coming back.

Friendly environment, good customer service, I enjoyed the fish tacos along with the thunder mugs!

Pretty average pub. They have some neat games up stairs. Pretty good beer selection and daily specials are all good

If you and your friends are looking for a new pub to call your "spot", I highly suggest making your way to Loco Lou's! This bar has been a staple of 16th Ave for over 20 years. The new ownership has really taken this bar to a new level. By adding the Arcade games and even encouraging customers to beat the GM's high score on Basketball, I've never felt more welcomed to an establishment! Great service from all staff. Will definitely be heading again soon!

Jasmine is an amazing waitress, very tentative and Gary the owner was very hospitable. Great time, will be back!

Very quiet bar, but tons of games so there's always another one to hop onto if you'd like. Service was excellent and quick. Great place to drink and chat as I didn't have to yell over the music. Super close to where I was staying, definitely will be back.

Food was good and service was great. It's a busy place but the energy is fun. The only downside to the location is the lack of parking.

I'm a big fan of Loco Lou's. Excellent atmosphere great service and really good food. Definitely check it out you'll enjoy yourself.

Friendly staff, good food and lots of different places in the bar you can hang out. Parking is a little limited but there is a lot next door. Only complaint is my appetizer fries came a little soggy.

Service is extremely slow. Server with black hair is ridiculously rude and thinks she's the management. Super unprofessional. Get better staff and a better cook so it doesn't take 2 hours to get a pizza.

Awesome atmosphere, server Hailee didn't know the specials, didn't really know what was going on at all. Super slow service, waited about 5 minutes before we got service. Ended up canceling our fries because 20 mins later they still weren't out.would go back but hopefully get a different server.

Food was ok. Service was great! There is a bit of dirt and debris by the entrance that makes this less welcoming. Great patio.

I have been to many places for wing night, and this place is the only place that I had to by a drink for each set of chicken wings, where everywhere else you only need to buy 1 drink to get as many wings as you like, not going to come back

Looking for a classic dive bar experience with good food, reasonable prices and quick service? Loco Lou's is your place.

The crowd is diverse, with a smattering of regulars, students from SAIT and random assorted folks that traverse the Number 1 highway/16th Ave, which Loco Lous is situated along.

The food is both tasty and affordable and the beverages flow easily from the tap to your table. The servers were attentive to customers and wouldn't leave you with an empty drink for long.

All in all the dive bar experience with it's unfocused ambiance, random music and drunk regulars is a dying breed replaced by the homogeneous curated experiences of pricey high end bars - which is great. But, there's something to be had from the freedom in just watching things work and being pleasantly surprised in a dive bar. 10/10 would go back to Loco Lou's 2.0!

Great spot, good food, great company. Don't forget to challenge Gary to the b ball game. Whiskey comps, whiskey comps.

Super accommodating and friendly. There was a bit of wind on the patio today but the waitresses made sure nothing was on the table too long and our glasses were never empty. They crushed it today.

Good place to chill with friends. Wings were over seasoned but very cheap if you wanna grab a beer and wings on Wednesday

Came here for lunch on the patio, as patio is the only thing open during restrictions. Got seating right away. The patio is very spacious. Service was good. Our server Hannah and the rest of the staff were friendly. Food were fairly priced and came in big portions.

Loco lous. Great stablishment, friendly stuff. I tecomend all SAIT student to hang out there. It os a right of passage through SAIT.

Painful experience, didn't get much service from server or anyone when they were busy but it was understandable. Then it died out and we were one of the last tables in a empty restaurant and somehow the service got worse. Food was disappointing but waiting in a empty restaurant to pay a bill topped the night. It saddening to see some great restaurants shut down due to covid knowing this one remains open.

Worst service ever. My husband and I went for dinner, we were seated and our drink orders were taken. The waitress did not offer or bring menus. She also waited until we were completely done our beers and had been sitting waiting for 10 minutes to ask if we wanted another. We went there looking for dinner, and left unimpressed before we even had a chance to ask for a menu. The server was more interested in the group of men who came in after us.

Whenever I think of a good time I immediately think of Local Lous 2.0. A new discovery for me, but a long time hit for my boyfriend and his friends. I never leave unsatisfied! Great food, amazing service and even better management! Never am I left thirsty or hungry! Local Lous will be my first choice going forward. The staff is so welcoming and friendly and they know how to deliver great service and outstanding kindness despite the worlds circumstances. Gary goes over and above to make sure the experience is memorable in all the best ways. The dill pickle caeser made by Keeton is mouthwatering, so amazing and Alex knows how to perfect a good thirst quencher after a long day and leaves you laughing your butt off. If I could rate this bar a 10/5 I would. Well done team, keep it up! I'll be back every week for the food, drinks and fantastic staff!

You'll meet all kinds of people that drink here and rhe people that work here are pretty cool too. Sad they don't have the pulled pork sando anymore

Super not impressed. Suggested this place for drinks and food after our locked room for my sisters birthday because I've always loved going here. We went and sat by the pool tables - and were not served for 20 minutes. The place was not that busy but it also seemed like there was only 2 waitresses on and they were not able to handle the "amount" of tables. She was speedy taking our drink orders and the bartender came back with them which was good, but then the server didn't come back for another 20 minutes for us to order food. After we ordered food we waited about 30 minutes to get it. My one friend got this chicken quesadilla and it was basically rubber so when the server finally came back (another 20 minutes) she just told her she could take it away. Also by this time our drinks were empty and she quickly walked away without waiting/ asking if we needed or wanted more drinks. When she came back she came with I'm assuming the manager who was holding the plate, put it into my friends face and said "you ate half of this, but I guess we will comp you for it". My friend never asked for her money back, never was going to and ate some of it because she was starving and the server never came back. It was just extremely rude in my opinion and I will not be suggesting this place to anyone else unfortunately.

Gross. Came with a friend late afternoon today. The sever seemed upset the minute we both sat down. Both sets of our wings came out with what looked like hair and when we brought it to her attention she said it was the feathers of the chickens and was totally natural and edible. We paid and left. I called and spoke with a manager and was told the same thing and they mentioned that the server should’ve spoken to a manager and gotten us new wings and they would have thrown the batch of wings out with “feathers” The phone call was awkward and nothing came of out it. Not even a “next time you come in we’ll do _ to make it up” not even an apology. GROSS. I’ve never had feathers on wings before anywhere. What kind of place is this. Never coming back.

Cool place! Wings were delicious and the Beer was cold. Was recently renovated and now it's a big games room so we were not bored. Service was very pleasant. What a fun night! We will return.

Marketing campaign (door hanger) got us in the door. Very 'local' vibe with a strong student flavour present. Lou's has some wear & tear visible, but not too worn out. Great patio.enjoyable when it gets warm.

Bartender was running the entire floor.and did an amazing job at keeping the drinks flowing for what seemed the entire place. If he wasn't as efficient I'd wonder why there wasn't a server working with him.

Good drink specials ~ food was good (nachos) and they have a 4 hour game card special. Noisy (expected) and a few over-enthusiastic game players (expected) to keep in mind when you're planning a Loco Lou's '2.0' visit

Wings are delicious, drinks were cold and well mixed, great older pud atmosphere with a young crowd.

I was here on Friday evening with my wife, went upstairs and a waiter came to us that they don't serve people upstairs unless we come down to get it. We went downstairs with her and sat by the pool table and were seated there for about 20 minutes or more with no waiter coming to attend to us.

Funny thing is two waiters were serving the guys having beers beside us and saw us but we were not even acknowledged, talk less of attended to. So we left!

This is the 2nd time we are coming here as it is a walking distance from our house and we hated the first service as well. Very unimpressed and would neither visit here again nor refer anyone.

Poorest service we have received in Canada till date.

The service can be slow sometimes, but that doesn't take away from the reasonable prices for drinks. The food specials have been damn tasty the times I've tried! The arcade upstairs is a riot when you got some friends with you. Good times!

Fun place, lots of arcade games available. Multi-floor layout and decent room between tables means it doesn't feel crowded. Food is tasty and the beer is cold. Prices are reasonable too.

Great setup, the wings are a good size with lots of flavours. The arcade machines are awesome, after a certain point they offer an unlimited play deal and we made full use of it.

Literally a college bar cool vibe the deals aren't great the beer smelled like the lines haven't been cleaned in years and a minimum tip of 20% didn't warrant a mere thank you from my server meh

I went here last week to see the new arcade additions as well as to see if it lived up to all the stories I've heard over the years from my SAIT friends. It was a quiet night and service was a little slow as they only had one person working, but our server was quite nice and friendly. I didn't find the food to be particularly special and it lacked flavour. I noted the higher price ranges as well which would seem a tad pricey for student budgets. The arcade games seem very promising and are a nice addition, but don't expect the selection from a full sized barcade. Overall, it has the potential to be a fun and casual place for a night out without having to wait in downtown lines.

To be completely honest, The Gateway at SAIT was closed so we walked over to Loco Lou"s 2.0. It was ok. They turned the upstairs into an arcade with a few "shooter" games and others thrown in. Ordered some wings and calamari and they were ok. If you"re getting the feeling that Loco Lou"s 2.0 is just ok. You're picking up what I'm putting down.

I don't even drink alcohol and I love coming for the food and games. Great hidden gem, suprised its not always busy.

By far the worst service I have ever received. When we arrived to a mostly empty restaurant (a group of 3) the hostess told us to grab a seat anywhere. After doing so, the server came over and seemed very annoyed when asking for food and drink menus. When she returned, she threw the food menus on the table and left without saying a word; this left us with a very unwelcoming and unpleasant experience. We will not be returning and will be advising others not to go.

Great service, atmosphere and food! Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The new addition of the arcade is a fun added bonus, and games are affordable. I would definitely come back!

First visit, the food was great.but I was disappointed when I visited again. I ordered poutine, it was cold.

The divest of dives in Calgary. Waited well over 20 minutes just to get the bartenders attention to order a drink. Great for that younger undiscerning party crowd only.

Driest ribs I’ve had in my life. So dry and crunchy that you have to take a sip of water with every bite. The bar was empty on Wing’s Wednesday, that should tell you a lot.

The food tasted ok, didn't feel so great after, probably my sensitive stomach. Decent atmosphere if you like it loud

Some friends and I went for late night snack and drinks after an event. It was really busy and only one server working. She hustled and brought us everything we needed, but there should have been more staff. My husband and I shared a poutine, which was very good! And highballs were on special for $5.
