Beach was clean at this time. Water is quite shallow for swimming. Boat launch available. Camping is popular. Walking trails, showers and playground are availble. Sani-dump station. Lot of boat traffic but kept away from marked swimming. Kayaks and paddleboards were out on lake too. Fishing at spots. Large grassy area. Canteen open some days/hours. Dogs allowed on leash.

We had a nice site, we'll treed, very quiet.
From the map it looked close to the water, but it turned out the lake is well below these sites. D147.
Otherwise, the playgrounds and swim areas are great. The biking & hiking are superb. Water was warm and clean.
24 August 2023 12:40
We drove out to use the day use area for a picnic with our dogs. The park was clean and we did find an area away from the beach where our dogs could go in the water. My only suggestion to the Park is a designated area for dogs would be lovely. To the day use people who left their trash on the ground.grow up. Your mother wasn't there to pick up after you.

One of my favorite lakes in northern Alberta. Playground could use an update lol but you won't find any better lake.
01 November 2022 8:02
Nice provincial park that is not overly crowded. It's a long stretch of water that is clean. There are a plenty of picnic and BBQ spots. The toilets are well managed. It's a wonderful place 1.5 hours north of Edmonton that's worth a visit. Not crazy busy like some of the other lakes.
18 October 2022 4:16
Good lake good staff like any prov campground the sites are small and absolutely no privacy. The bathrooms are always dirty though and they don't fill the soap with soap it's hand sanitizer so you can't actually wash your hands and the hand dryer in womans in loop A has been broken the last two years we've been there.

Beautiful campground. Grandkids loved playing in the water and playground. Will return next year
10 October 2022 17:32
Over the summer we made a trip out here to go onto the lake and do some water sports. There was a decent amount of people there just having fun and soaking up the sun. If you can still make it out there this 2022 if not make it a most for the next summer.

Bring some food and water toys and just have some simple fun.
09 October 2022 10:17
Beautiful campground treed lots close to lake, serviced sites playground close to beach swimming area.
02 October 2022 9:16
Really nice campground. Well maintained. Great water. The little concession on site was fantastic
22 September 2022 6:37
A great place to spend some time. Clean, quiet and good for families. Beautiful views and a lovely walk. Playground, Beach and a place for buying icecream. Cannot grounds are available but I've never camped there.
20 September 2022 14:59
Highly recommend! Clean bathrooms, they came around daily to clean them. We were in the B Loop super close to the park and washrooms and it was perfect, will be back forsure! Lake was clean, we didn't get swimmers itch which I was worried about.
12 September 2022 19:02
Perfect beach for the family. We noticed that the beach is well managed, clean and got lot of space to lay the mats and enjoy the sun. My 3 years and 6 years girls loved to be there and have fun. Since it has a lot of parking spaces, there is no problem of having parking. We enjoyed the clean water, shallow beaches and nice trails. If you want to have family fun in the beach, I will certainly recommend it.
07 September 2022 6:27
The lake has green algea, the day use area has quite a bit. But you can still go swimming if that doesnt bother you, lots of people were swimming.
30 August 2022 0:46
The location is nice becuse it is not too far from Edmonton but the campground is in rough shape. The groundskeepers have it clean but for the cost to stay you would think that some of that money would actually go towards the campground maintenance. The campsites have very little gravel and what there us was actually mud, most sites were half covered in standing water and we could not even use our fire pit because that area was under water all weekend. Even the park tables were rotten. There are much nicer places to go for the cost.
24 August 2022 23:50
Great views of the lake from just about everywhere, nice clean shower house and wildlife all around.
30 July 2022 18:50
It was not the parks fault, but it rained most of the weekend so we really couldn't enjoy as much as we would like to.
31 October 2021 20:13
No privacy whatsoever. Might as well have been camping in a parking lot. Not dog friendly. Never again
16 October 2021 16:33
Beautiful views from camping spots along the waterfront. Limited privacy for other spots. Well maintained, beautiful setting and the small loops that are quite spread out give it an intimate feeling.
10 October 2021 16:29
Enjoyed our day at the lake. Was only in the day use area but the everything was very clean. Get there early to get a spot as if got quite buisy after noon. Only down side was the concession was closed sounded like possible renovations.
04 October 2021 4:45
We booked the campsite for family reunion. Apparently the grounds were not kept up at all. Family had to go in early and clean up. There were at least 3 birds nests in the cook house and they were flying around overhead scaring the children. Horseshoe pits are advertised but non existent. We had to build our own with no sand either. I paid quite a bit of money for fishing licences as we're from out of province but it appears that the lake is not stocked. There were 3 fish caught, one being just over 2 inches long (yes it was measured for the fishing trophy) the bathrooms didn't appear to have been cleaned for quite awhile and one was so bad I had to hold my breath. Showers are a short drive away and cost $1 for 2.5 minutes accepting only loonies and no change machine on-site. It's a beautiful area but all in all I was unimpressed.
26 September 2021 18:00
Love it here! I'm Alberta born and have never been to this park. It's so beautiful! By far best place to camp close to Edmonton. #AlbertaParks
25 September 2021 22:22
Long Lake is a beautiful provincial park that has a lot to do. There are numerous day use areas, hikes, beaches, and boat launches. You can fish as well too. The lake is really pretty and the beaches are clean and not too crowded. It is a great place to come out for the day and either head out on the water or to enjoy the beautiful nature. The only downside is that the wasps were especially bad this year.
24 September 2021 6:04
Great visit. A little chilly, no fault of the park. Good green space, lots of picnic areas, nice little beach. Good place for littles to play in shallower water. Safe swim area marked off. We just went for the day, so no charge to enter the park. Will certainly be back.
22 September 2021 16:47
Too bad about the algae in the water, but beach is good, boat launch worked well. Electrical in our site was poor. Breaker was very weak. Had to reset it 30 to 40 times over the weekend. Site A24. Others in our group we were not happy with their electrical too.
21 September 2021 23:04
Nice lake and we were able to catch fish from the shore. We went mid-week. I imagine it would be immensely busy on the weekend. A-loop campgrounds fairly open but you get rewarded with a lake view.
20 September 2021 3:17
Nice place to camp, both tent and RV sections. Lots of boats and 1 ok beach in the day used area and the RV beach is not the best. Same ol same old camping sites, no cell service at all so if you wanna got your kids off their electronics then it is ok. Their is a gas station up the hill when going into the park, you can most things and alcohol. Firewood in the park is expensive and at the store. Their a place down the highway you can can alot of wood for cheap. Aside from that it was
14 September 2021 4:16
Loved our experience here. Clean, beautiful and peaceful. The playground for the kids was fun, sand was great for sand castles and the water was clear. We absolutely loved our view of the lake from our campsite. We were very sad to leave and plan to stay for a full week next time. A little piece of paradise in the middle of Alberta!
06 September 2021 7:44
It was a beautiful and scenic spot with lots of picnic tables and BBQ stations, but both my sister and I got swimmers itch and we were barely in the water for 15,20 minutes.

Not sure if this location is known for that, but just a heads up to those who are planning a trip here: rinse off RIGHT AWAY if you swim, or just avoid going in the water altogether. It was visibly murky looking.

(Maybe it was just the time of year, I don't know, but use caution.)
06 September 2021 3:46
The horse flies were relentless. It's a great view but I constantly had to worry about being bit by a horse fly or wasps every 3 minutes or so. Sitting on the bench and eventually I got bit by a horse fly.
02 September 2021 8:39
Amenities, and boat launch are good, and clean. The lake was actually pretty clean with some green algae in it, however not too dense. I would swim in that no issue. Fishing was ok, didn't catch any Walleye only Northern Pike. Happy to see law enforcement was checking for fishing licenses, drugs, and alcohol intoxication both on the lake and off. Gave us a sense of comfort knowing that it's monitored for everyone to be safe, and still have a good time. Overall really nice area that I would go back to.
30 August 2021 7:16
Would be a nice place for camping but if your planning to swim its nasty.dont waste your time. Water is cloudy and its not even july
27 August 2021 20:09
5 Star Beach by Alberta standards. 3 Stars most everywhere else. It's definately a nice beach conferring is free
27 August 2021 14:59
Nice beach area with a playground and place to launch our canoe. There is an actual boat launch for larger boats also. Nice hiking trails and a lot of wildlife (Deer, beavers, cranes, loons, etc.). Large spots for Trailers.
Draw backs: Could only get cell signal by the beach or in nearby town. Some spots have electric but no full hookups. Outhouses are available. Showers are outside the camp and you have to drive there.
24 August 2021 0:33
We were lucky to have found a firepit and picnic table immediately upon entering the park. Beautiful view of the lake in the shade. The water was extremely refreshing to swim in and not too deep so my toddler was able to splash around and have fun. We would like to go back and camp once there are some vacant spots!
22 August 2021 22:44
Beautiful sand beach, great for family days
No BBQ by the lake though so bring a portable. There are campsites and day use areas available.
18 August 2021 8:55
No cell network even you need to call for emergency. The trash bin is far away from Campsite B campground. Paid shower room doesn't come with a noticeable warning to public, my wife and I didn't bring the coin for shower while my wife need to beg one dollar from other one. No staff to warn someone who spoke loud after 11: 00 p.m.
29 July 2021 3:08
The lake was really good to do boating, rafting, etc. The space is really big and open also well maintained, it’s clean. Bathrooms are nice, not those disposable types. Swimming is allowed BUT the water is NOT clean! And not much space to swim either. Fabulous for camping. There are fire pits and many benches.
13 July 2021 1:20
The place is a dump now. You pay $40 a night and they can't even cut the grass. It is the end of June and they haven't cut the main beach yet. The concession isn't open and neither are the showers. And they do not clean the outhouses as much as they used to. Fire pits don't get emptied. This place used to be beautiful. And now its just a mess. Wouldn't recommend.
08 July 2021 0:59
Best place to go for day use also for camping.all the bathrooms are clean and maintained properly. Kids loved it
24 June 2021 18:19
Beautiful lake nice and clean! The Loons sing so pretty at night time!
Only thing I would suggest is for all of the power boxes at each site be replaced with new ones (dangerous) gets hot shorts out and they look melted.
27 December 2020 1:59
Beautiful scenery, but the lake has an algae bloom, so your pets can not go in or drink the water.
21 October 2019 4:39
Nice lake, tables all around to enjoy the lake, clean and just beautiful place to take the sunshine and swim in the lake or go fishing. A nice playground for kids too!
25 September 2019 16:40
I haven’t been out this way since I was a little kid and things sure have changed! Campsites are clean but it’s a bit of a walk to the nearest pit toilet and showers are a fair distance and would be nice if another shower house was constructed. Would be nice if cell phone service was available in case someone has to call 911 but on the other hand it was nice to unplug from social networks
24 September 2019 5:57
Very nice place to go beach was taken care of water was beautiful surroundings were very treed and beautiful. Lovely place to go even got to see the little bear running around. To bad there wasn't a better alternative then putting him down that broke my heart when the little fellow was just trying to get ready for hibernation. But overall would definately cone back
22 September 2019 23:36
Beautiful Small Day use beach.
Parking is a little challenging.

Farmers market is a great addition on Saturday
13 September 2019 20:36
Amazing campsites right on the lake. Only down side is minimal privacy as most sites have very few trees and that's literally the only reason it's not 5 stars. If privacy/seclusion doesnt matter this is a must stay campground. Good playground at the day use area and small beach but very weedy in the water. Main trail is paved but lot of hills so could be difficult for folks with movement impairments. Friendly staff as well.
13 August 2019 17:39
Beautiful area! Campground was not very private but good, well maintained sites. Walk to the lake was an enjoyable 20 minutes from our campsite. Would recommend bringing bikes. Showers are ice cold. Nice concession at lake front
27 June 2019 17:25
Have been camping here for years. Only problem is province has done little keep sites for RV parking level and the boat launch needs some work.
22 June 2019 10:24
Long Lake never lets us down. The further loops always tend to be quiet & relaxing (the way we like when camping). Fishing is usually good (Walleye and Pike). Lots of picnic areas for a day trip too, plus the beach. And only an hour from the city makes for a convenient getaway!
