Lucere Dermatology & Laser Clinic

I am compelled to share my disappointing experiences with Lucere Dermatology, which have left me frustrated and concerned about the level of customer care and service provided by this medical clinic.

In October 2022, I purchased a gift card from Lucere Dermatology with the intention of receiving services from one of their laser technicians. Unfortunately, the technician I initially chose was let go, and subsequent attempts to seek satisfactory service from other technicians proved unsuccessful.

During my family's visits, my mother and sister encountered unprofessional behavior, including inappropriate comments about receiving "free stuff" and technicians openly admitting their lack of expertise with the machines used in facials. Despite expressing our dissatisfaction to Lucere, the matter was not resolved, and promises to address our concerns went unfulfilled.

Furthermore, when purchasing the gift card, we were enticed by specific perks associated with the tier, such as complimentary 1mL lip filler. Despite confirming with the nurse injector that we could split the filler between my sister and me, we were later charged an additional injector fee during our January appointment. This lack of transparency was disappointing and only added to our growing dissatisfaction.

Communication regarding the remaining balance on our gift card was consistently poor. Despite numerous inquiries, promises of callbacks within 2-3 days were never honored, leaving us in the dark about our account status. This lack of transparency extended to the bonuses associated with the gift card, with vague responses and a refusal to provide straightforward answers.

Most troubling was the apparent ageism we experienced. I often felt ignored due to my younger age, requiring my mother's intervention to receive a proper response. This is unacceptable in a professional medical setting.

Having invested over $10,000 with Lucere Dermatology, the decline in customer care and service is deeply concerning. I urge others to carefully consider their choices when seeking dermatological services, as Lucere Dermatology has failed to meet even basic standards of professionalism and customer service.

A member of your team told my sister that they did not know how to properly use the Hydrafacial machine as they normally work with lasers. I called in to discuss the unprofessional and inexperienced facial that both my sister and mother experienced with this specific technician the same week the incident happened. I was told that someone will call me the following Monday but there was no follow-up. I then called again to try and rectify this issue the following week and was told, once again, that someone will reach out to me. Once again, there was no follow-up. Months later, when my family and I were fed up with the unprofessionalism we experienced, my mother called to bring up all of our issues and to cancel our memberships. Only then were we taken somewhat serious and offered one free Hydrafacial after being told that what we experienced did not happen.

When we originally purchased the gift card, multiple members of your team confirmed that my sister and mother could access my account and use the gift card with no issue. Had we been told that there would be issues with my sister or mother accessing my account, we either would not have purchased a gift card or purchased smaller amounts on each account.

While you mention multiple efforts from the business manager, it's important to clarify that the outreach occurred only after my mother called, expressing a year of dissatisfaction. The solution provided to us was one free Hydrafacial (when both my mother and sister and very bad Hydrafacial experiences) months after the incident. Moreover, the dismissal of our concerns by stating that our described situation could not have occurred undermines the validity of our experiences.

Megan booked me in for a consult and was a big help over the phone and in person. The consultation was informative and they were able to answer all my questions.

Recently had a cyst removed from my finger. Booked the appointment through Emmy who was both very personable and professional to talk to and nurse Mariah was caring and knowledgeable. Received great service from both!

Faith is an exceptional skin consultant. Her expertise, compassionate care, and dedication to patient well-being make her truly remarkable. With her recommendation she was able to solve my skin concerns.

Overall we love Lucere not only that the place is very elegant  but because all of the staff are very welcoming and nice and they give amazing service.

Always enjoy my monthly visits…. From the welcoming, upbeat atmosphere created by the front office staff to the professional, caring treatments. Special kudos to these staff members …they keep me coming back.

Gave me wrong treatment. I was horribly scared for months. Terrible place to go. You don't even meet with a dermatologist just a 20 something with practically zero experience works on you. Just a gong show over there.

Best dermatologist hands down. He was the only one who could help my daughter's skin when no one else could. He was very kind to myself and my daughter and we left there knowing we were in great hands. His staff are also very kind and respectful. I would highly recommend this place for all your skin needs.

Love Chelsey. She's a wonderful young lady. Lucere is lucky to have her on staff. So caring and kind. Great job on injections, it's been very helpful with my migraine/eyegrains.

I’ve been going to Lucere south side for my Botox and touchups for quite some time now and I am always happy with my results. Everyone is so kind and professional. Very big thank you to Debra Bennett for helping me with my skin! This is my one trusted spot to go for everything!

Hannah was absolutely amazing! She was extremely knowledgeable, answered all my questions, made me feel super comfortable and the results are even better than I could have imagined

I went for my 3 month follow up appointment today for my melasma. The Christie and Debra were very helpful and knowledgeable. I was given detailed instructions on how and when to apply the recommended creams and serum. I felt comfortable asking questions and value all the makeup and sunscreen suggestions. The nurse I saw in February was also very knowledgeable and helpful. I think her name was Michelle. The ladies at reception were also very friendly and helpful. Thanks to all the staff at Lucere.

Kailey is always very knowledgeable, professional, and skilled. I always enjoy an appointment with her; she always does just what I need.

Ive had a couple friends with bad experiences attempt to leave reviews and they don't show up. Meaning the really bad reviews are filtered out. Doesn't say much for the company in my opinion.

I have spent the last year going to see Dr. Taher and his team including Michelle, Mariah and other nurses as well and have nothing but amazing things to say about everyone. The staff was always welcoming and I was always seen on time! They were always open to my questions and patient throughout the whole year long process! So thankful for everyone there and will definitely come back in the future if I need anything!

I was in the Lucere clinic recently and was very impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of Janice the receptionist.

I had a very good experience with Debra Bennett - Nurse Practioner and would very much recommend her. Very professional!

I dont recommend Non Ablative fraxel. It destroyed my skin. I basically paid over $1000 to end up scarred for life. I didn't expect perfection by any means but to look worse than I ever have.just terrible. I went for my follow ups.they werent able to resolve what their machine caused. Its supposed to get better as time goes on.nope. I have more redness, more scarring/texture than I ever have in my life. Im just beside myself. I can barely look in the mirror without getting upset. This has been very traumatic for me. I just cant believe I paid for a treatment that was so heavily promoted as being safe and end up looking worse than I ever have. I don't look good or done and itll likely cost thousands more to correct this. My review wasn't posting, so I tried on my business account. They never return calls, hardly ever answer the phone. All in all their customer service isnt that great, especially if you ever have issues. My advice is Get professional before photos (not from lucere) prior to your treatments so you have a reference whenever you need it.

Outstanding service! This is definitely the #1 place to go. Raae is the best at what she does and Dr T and the rest of the staff are a dream team!

I have been a patient at Lucere, south side, for many years. My go to person is nurse Chelsey and l would not trade her for the world.
Chelsey is professional, knowledgeabe but yet l feel like a see a friend everytime l have a treatment done.
She will guide me in the right direction without pressure.

Needless to say, she makes me feel like a million bucks with her expert injection technique.

I went in for a skincare consultation and Faith was super knowledgeable and very patient walking through my different options. I didn’t feel pressured to buy any products and overall, had a very positive experience.

I’ve been going to Lucere for 3 months. Overall great service, great people. But special thnx to the receptionist Janice the way she welcome, 5 star to Janice.

I’ve been going to Lucere for a while now, and every time I am welcomed by the receptionist Janice. She is truly an amazing woman and always brightens my day.

For the last two weeks I have been on hold for over 40 minutes to try to make an appointment. Bad receptionist skills or just bad business?

Been going here for almost 4 months now! And each visit, my face is just getting better and better! My main concern is acne, and I can say that my face has cleared up and glowing! Also, wanted to appreciate, Paulina for being supportive and helpful since the first day we met during the free consultation! She’s a gem! Can’t wait for what else you guys can do to improve and to be able to help with my concerns!

My experience with Lucere clinic was awesome, i hav done mole removal with NP Debra Bennett, she is amazing, her work is neat I got results that I wasn't even expecting.
Will definitely come and do more procedures with her, she is pro at what she is doing.

I had an appointment booked with Faith @5pm at the Southside location June 1st. I arrived a few minutes early - she came out to tell me she was running a bit behind and the person ahead of me had just shown up and she thought he’d be a no-show. OK, whatever.

20 minutes later still no sign of my appointment starting - I think if someone is that late they should be marked as a no-show, not make the person after them who was on time wait. I told the front desk I couldn’t wait any longer and I’ll rebook. They were apologetic but no one has followed up with me, even after I emailed and explained above. I am a single parent and I have to book this stuff around my limited availability - I wanted to talk about some facial treatments and tattoo removal, which is super expensive. This place can’t be bothered to rebook me after their own poor customer service - save your money and go somewhere else.

LOVE & ADORE this place. Dr. T is the BEST dermatologist, hands down. I was losing my hair because of fertility treatments and because of his expertise, it's coming back! He also removed a mole from my face and you can't even tell it was there.

On the beauty side of the fence, Holly works with my facial features to help me decide where my botox should be placed. I have gotten SO many compliments on a job well done. Sandra and Paulina are intensely knowledgeable on what I should be putting on my face and how to reduce my redness and pore size. I am starting my membership with a Bella MD Microdermabrasion and I can't wait to start my Excel V Redness with their recommended Victoria next month! While I wait, I saw Jenna to help me level out my uneven eyebrows. I look so clean and refreshed I can't even describe how good she is!

The (gorgeous) staff care about me and the events are so fun! Isabel runs a great team and gives an amazing energy. The ladies and the front are ALWAYS cheerful and create a great atmosphere. I love coming here and I hope you give them a try <3

Had been referred here so I went in to buy some product. The space is large, beautiful and clean, however, I left quite disappointed because the receptionist had little to no knowledge on the products being sold. I purchased one item although it wasn’t what I was looking for. Had I had more help I would have purchased more items.

Dr. Taher is a wonderful doctor and took the time to explain everything to me. His bedside manner is more than just 5 stars. His assistant, Harpreet was just as kind and patient and took the time to answer all of my questions as well. My experiences at Lucere have been nothing but great. I highly recommend this place to anyone.

I was blown away with the service that I had received from one of the Nurses, Mariah! She recommended & educated me on the procedure I was getting. Had great service when I was in the clinic, I was referred because I have a horrible rash on my hands that's now spread to my face and legs and is extremely painful. I called and left them a voicemail yesterday, their machine tells you that you should receive a call back in about 2 hours. I called them back today and left another message. My call was finally returned this afternoon to be met with "oh, we are booked up today, so I would say go to a walk in clinic". I was referred because the doctors have no idea what this is. This is very defeating!

My experience was great! Michelle was very efficient and knowledgeable. She was very competent and I felt well cared for! Highly recommended!

Lucere is a wonderful clinic with incredibly friendly and efficient staff. My experience has been mainly with Michelle and I’m so grateful for her kind and calm approach to individuals like myself that may be uncertain or uneasy. She’s truly amazing and I’d highly recommend booking in with her. I feel like she’s always on time, if not early, which is a bonus for those with a busy schedule!

I had been suffering with extreme dermatitis on my forearms for 2 years and it had started to affect my sleep and my confidence when I was referred to Dr. Taher. All the recommendations and course of action to treat my dermatitis worked like a dream! Within 6 months of seeing him, my dermatitis is under control. No more sleepless nights from scratching! And no more being self conscience! Dr. Taher and his staff have been a God sent!

I have gone here a few times now and have had a great experience each time. Everyone is super nice especially Paulina, she always makes the clinic feel very welcoming and always recommends great products. I would also recommend Heather for treatments she is really good and gentle.

Maybe the front personel should realize that they are doing an entry level job. I met CEOs that are more nicer than them.

I have had such great experiences with the team at Lucere southside over the last couple of months.
Terri was wonderful when it came to anti wrinkle treatments and answered all of my questions.
I wanted to focus on achieving healthier skin and Paulina and Jenna have been amazing. Paulina has walked me through step by step from the consultation/skin analysis to products and treatments and made sure we start one step at a time. She checks in and follows up which I think is outstanding.
Jenna is lovely and does an incredible job during your skin treatments. I highly recommend the clinic and booking an appointment. With each of these ladies.

I came to this clinic confused as hell as I didn’t know what skincare products to get, Paulina was the best at getting me the exact products that suited my skin. Despite the fact that I didn’t know what I wanted, Paulina was so patient with me. Thanks Paulina, you’re the best, my skin is glowing?

I highly Recommend going to Lucere, my journey started back in 2017 with cystic acne. Fast forward to now and my skin has never been better! Thanks to meeting a very special person along the way, Paulina. Paulina has not only helped me feel beautiful in my own skin but has taken her time to listen to my concerns. I came in wanting to do every single treatment to my face and she narrowed it right down to simply changing my skin care routine to cleansing & moisturizing on the daily with medical grade skin care products. Not impressed. In the summer I went for a consultation for botox and was told to come back when my previous botox had worn off so I could start fresh. I made sure to ask how often they go through bottle of botox because the last experience I had it did not last long, thinking maybe it was an old bottle and lost its potency. She reassured me they go through many bottles a day, I also figured going to a higher end clinic I would get great results. That was not the case. A month and a half ago I went in and spent $450 on botox; most of it in my forehead besides maybe 6 units. I told the lady I wanted my forehead to be COMPLETELY frozen, I wanted zero movement, and my problem areas to be fixed. Since then I have gone for 2 touch ups and I still have so much movement in my forehead and my problem areas were not fixed. Both times 2 different nurses told me the reason why my botox wasn't lasting was due to stress from the pandemic.sure.
Seems like another lady just a few weeks ago posted a review very similar as my experience.
I do not recommend getting botox here.

Saw Dr. Azer yesterday for foam sclerotherapy treatment of a gross looking varicose vein on the back of my leg at the Downtown location. He was fantastic! Explained in detail what caused it and showed me everything through the ultrasound. The treatment itself was so easy, he was gentle, caring and patient and I barely felt a thing.

The medical office moved down the hall for Dr. Taher. The patient room itself was huge and very cold temperature, not comfortable at all. I had to ask for a gown instead of being offered one, which was old and worn and not made for plus size adults. I did not like the examination chair and searched for a 'padding' I found in the gown drawer as I had to have my underwear off for part of the exam. The nurse did not think to offer me the padding for my protection. Dr. Taher is quite quick to assess whether any condition is treatable or removable on the skin. Some procedures for lesion removal cost $$$ and are not covered by AHS. I spoke about my observations of my skin issues, added my own research, asked for certain medications, which he granted me. He wrote me a prescription cream and then off he went with no follow up plan.

Nurse shandra has always made me feel comfortable and confident in her skill and the overall process. I have been completely satisfied with my results. Would highly recommend!

Appointments with Nurse Cassie thus far and it’s safe to say I am a lifer! I appreciate the care and compassion and honesty I receive. My only regret is not booking in sooner. I will forever recommend Lucere and specifically my fave Nurse Cassie. Can’t be beat.

I was so pleased with my experience at Lucere. My family doctor referred me to the dermatologist here, Dr. Taher, for a "mystery" skin issue. Dr. Taher was very friendly and knowledgeable - he knew right away what the issue was. Nurse Lorna helped me check in and also was the one to stitch me up after she did a precautionary biopsy (done same day as first appt!). Both made me feel comfortable to be there. High quality, efficient service. Would highly recommend.

Chelsea is AMAZING! She always goes the extra mile to ensure that I am fully satisfied with my results. I always leave feeling refreshed and happy with my experience. 5 star rating for sure!

I came to Lucere in regards to my acne concerns and had my first consultation with Paulina. She is nothing short of amazing! She takes her time to review your concerns, and after an initial skin analysis, she provides you with the best treatment options without pushing any of the treatments onto you. Just like many of her reviews have said, she is the kindest soul you’ll ever meet and goes above and beyond for her clients. If you’re struggling with your skin, I can’t recommend Paulina enough! Her compassion, understanding, and kindness always makes my day. I’ve finally found my skincare guru and will definitely be back!

Love Lucere, the people there are so friendly and good at their job. Been coming here for years. Dr Taher fixed my bump on my nose that was in a bad spot and now I have no scar at all and it looks perfect! Nurse Lorna is also wonderful, she always knows the right amount of botox I need highly recommend this place, they're all great!

I am loving my monthly visits with Nurse Nicole B! She is knowledgeable and carefully explains every step during the procedures. I can relax and be comfortable in her capable hands. Victoria is amazing! I absolutely love my skins amazing transformation since I started the fractora treatment. 10/10 would recommend to anyone with acne and scars. I never thought I would see the day that I would be comfortable going out in public with no make-up on but here I am:)

That was until I got poked with filler by Cassie. W. Was I nervous - Yes! Was my lips tender following the procedure - Yes! Was it worth it - Yes! 100x's over!

Right Photo: Me now! I am no longer self-conscious about smiling in photos. I buy lipstick and wear it because I feel like I can finally 'pull it off'. My lips are probably one of my favorite facial features now!

Something to think about: Finding an injector for Filler/Botox is similar to sourcing out a hair dresser. It's important to consult with said injector before following thru on a procedure. I learned the hard way but then found my way to Cassie. W and the Team at Lucere. Free consult to answer any and all my questions, along with managing my expectations. They're the experts. Sure I know what I want but they know what it takes to achieve that look. I put trust in Cassie based on her knowledge and expertise, therefore she was able to provide me with suggestions and alternatives. From the moment I walked thru the door and the weeks following my procedure I am happy and confident. Not just confident as a person but confident in the procedure and results. I continue to recommend Cassie and Lucere to anyone who will listen.

I am very impressed with the care and recommendations I received from Cassie in regards to a skin care regimen specific for my skin type. Cassie was very dedicated and competent in regards to suggesting a skin care regimen to meet my needs.
