Not as good as it once was, post pandemic has shown that this store is not community as it use to be when prices went up even before it was on the news so all that old stock in the back was all payed for already jumped another 30% mark on so when it was on the news guess what another 30% and now 60% $1000.a month on average is now lost to lets see another rip off store to my choosing no so lucky here. Have a nice day:)
Omg the meat section stunk really bad it was so horrible! They need to clean that place! I did not want to eat the hamburger at all because that smell bothered me so much and grossed me out. Yuck. Makes me wonder why meat is so cheap there? Definitely not purchasing meat there again.
I like the place I would rate 5 stars but the customer service supervisor is not fit for her job. I forgot to scan potatoes coz it was sitting at the bottom of the cart she started screaming 8$ 8$ and yelling at the cashier also went about telling every single cashier how I didn't scan the potatoes like seriously and make me feel like a thief. This was on Friday Aug 18 @5: 55pm for the reference. Another star is taken off coz meat area stinks!
Everything in store is down, not like before no customer service, not much selection or I was in a wrong day. Pandemic was better good service and selection.
Cheap produce, and delicious Asian favorites. The meat counter is not to be missed, ask for half a peking duck and a half pound of bbq pork. You won't be disappointed!
Love shopping here for Asian goods. And when the shopping is done, enjoy the selection of entrees and snacks at their deli. They have the barbeque meats, a variety of soups cooked food like spring rolls, dim sum items like siomai and steamed buns and there's also bubble tea place.
Asked me for i.d when buying cigarettes which I presented. Then they said "I dont believe this is you" like sorry my hair isn't done everyday and I'm not wearing makeup and I'm wearing a mask!
A great place to get my Asian grocery staples at much better prices and variety than other main Canadian grocery chains. The setup is easy to shop and has free parking. Suffers from the location - it makes me uncomfortable when I have seen security fighting with homeless n the area.
They were very helpful and have a great selection of different types of food. The cashier was quick efficient and sanitary which we all appreciate now a days lol.
It was so bad customer services, especially Chinese manager, she is so discriminate between White and Asian, she was put food inside bag for white man, and say hi and thank you to him even he bought only few items. With my husband and I, she leaved my food in counter, my husband and I were collected it by our self, and her face look at us, was so mean, not say hi or even thank you. Who are you? You are Asian same as me. You open Asian grocery store, who is the most customers in Lucky 97 store, of course most Asian is your customer. I can tell from her face she is extremely so mean, the way she manages lucky 97 store is going down big time. I rather go to T & T to get better customer services than looking at her face.
Great selection of Asian food culture and halal product, usually well priced. BBQ and takeout. Not all selection is fresh and some frozen product can be bought down the street.
A great store for Asians residing in the area. If you miss the food in your home country, the taste, the savor, the smell, ghe ingredients, they are all here!
Great deals, I can find everything I need and more. Cashiers are friendly and followed all covid restrictions. Can't wait for my next trip into the store.
Most of the time vegetable are fresh, but there are already packed so you don't have the chance to check inside.the last time i got one that's already rotting at the bottom of the vegetable. I wish you can buy small volume but you will be forced to buy the whole pack as it's already packed!
I go here because it's close, not because I want to. Their produce is hit and miss at best, the beets and turnips were soft and mushy today. But if you're looking for Chinese foodstuffs you're in the right place.
The market has more things to choose from and the price mostly are reasonable. I bought one two bags of frozen fish, which taste clearly treated with chemical, the kind of chemical smell like to be use to keep animal/human body not to rot. Sent back one bag left unopened fish, I wasn’t expected anything but their attention of food safety concern. They didn’t sound any alarm or refund at all. I would never buy any frozen see food from this place. And, if you are purchasing beef (regular, not halal beef), remember to mention”I don’t want to take the fat”, otherwise the lady will pick (yes she is very good at it) the very fat ones for you. I had this experience for several times myself, so don’t be shy.
I had never entered this business before but did so on the recommendation of a friend. We stocked up on junk food of which there is a very large selection. It was interesting trying out many goods that I could not even read the name of. Overall I gained a new appreciation of asain snacks.
Was passing by and needed some groceries, was about to go in when I noticed your 2 young massive security thugs outside the doors roughing up an elderly man that seemed to be down on his luck. Walked by and told them they were thugs that were clearly enjoying this part of their job too much. They then tried to intimidate me (they know they can't touch you unless they are doing a shoplifting arrest but that won't stop them from getting in your face and acting like they're gonna grab you) yelled at me that I was banned for 6 months, that they'd call the cops, and were just being roided out bullies. Even if you are arresting a shoplifter, you can be professional about it and minimize harm. Congrats on losing a sale and a customer forever.
The bbq pork buns at the Dim Sum station are delicious, pretty tea pots for crazy cheap, and their produce section ALWAYS has some new intersting thing to try.
Check your receipt. The prices are posted but the guy in the meat department adds 40cents a pound on.no one checks. I did and when I challenged it he knew what he had done and the woman who was supposedly the manager did not care. Will miss you little store but I do not believe you have a right to do this to customers. SHAME ONYOU
If you ignore all the loitering, screaming, homeless hecklers, and how the place looks dirty almost all the time, it's actually a pretty great supermarket with a lot of fresh meats and good prices.
Caught a guy stealing, so I followed him and he noticed I was watching him.so he left the store. Informed staff and security, hope he never comes back. Lucky 97 offers so much, the staff work very hard to keep the supply for the demand Good job Lucky 97! Keep up the good work.
I’m pleasantly impressed! Pretty great alternative to T&T. The prices are pretty good, variety is great and they open nice an early which is a bonus for me. It is a bit smaller, but that doesn’t mean they don’t have lot’s of available products.
The only thing I would love is if rice can be available in aisles as well in half sized packages.
Other than that, it’s clean, organized, well stocked, easy to get to and park at.
Went to the 137 ave location on Saturday afternoon. The store always has a couple of interesting items. The store for me serves as a get away with a lot of produce, Asian treats and hot meals. Not bad pricing either.
