LUPO Italian Ristorante & Patio

Very good pasta and large portions which isn’t typical with Italian food that’s this good.

First time visiting Banff and went to this restaurant as the choice of the birthday girl who had been before. Amazing place I must say. Our server was very knowledgeable about the menu and wines, explaining them with perfect descriptions and an alluring sense. I wish I could remember her name but she was from
Quebec. 10/10 nothing could have improved this experience. The price may be on the higher end scale but you get what you pay for, and that was quality

Great food and a delightful patio view. Spaghetti and meatballs were fantastic.

Only gripe was that I originally wanted the veal, but the chef was inflexible in substituting the fries for spaghetti and tomato sauce, which I thought was odd.

Running the half marathon the day after, I didn’t want anything deep fried. For a $60 veal, you would expect them to boil some pasta for you ‍️

Disappointed! We booked our table from another APP， which shows 5 starts for this restaurant. The food here is absolutely overpriced with under average qualities. Especially the appetizers, we did not take pictures for the foods like we usually would do because we felt sorry for our choices: tiny amount of food with simple ingredients. We spent around $35 each people to get a drink and a snack size food. Don’t go unless you want to find a pretty place but don’t care about the food and services.

This place was SO GOOD. We visit a tone of different restaurants regularly, especially when travelling, and I can honestly say this is one of our new favs. If you love seafood you have to get the Seafood Linguini, it was the best we’ve ever had. Cocktails were unique and delicious (They’re also 2oz drinks, love it) Pricing of everything is so reasonable, I honestly think they could charge more and people would still go. We sat on the patio and as it got cold they gave us a blanket! Service was great and the place is adorable. YOU NEED TO TRY THIS PLACE!

I took a chance and chose my wedding date based on when Lupo’s Romeo and Juliet room was available for my microwedding reception without ever having been there (I live in the US). I have no regrets whatsoever! The space was the perfect size, privacy level, and vibe for our party of 12.
The food exceeded expectations. It was fresh, delicious, and in generous servings. Be sure to try the focaccia, it was just as good as the focaccia I had in Italy! The pasta was so good, my husband and I came back the following night to have dinner there again.
The server who attended to us all evening, TK, was professional and accommodating even when we asked for a few items not included on the group menus. He made sure our guests with dietary restrictions were well taken care of also.
Special thanks to Emily and Kayla at Banff Hospitality Collective who answered all my questions and helped sort out all the details of my event! Our time at Lupo was the perfect end to a perfect day.

The pasta was delicious. I tried the agnolotti. I haven’t had this before but was interested to try fresh truffle. I don’t know how much it impacted the flavour but overall the dish kind of melts in your mouth in a good way. It’s very creamy and the melted raclette cheese inside the potato noodles was wonderful and blended well with the buttery sauce in the dish.

The best Italian restaurant I've been to in all Canada, and one of the best outside of Italy. The Chef is a talent. Unbeatable service and location. Highly recommend.

The restaurant is on the fancier side and food is little bit pricey. But considering it is located in the tourist area it is not that bad. Food was good and portion sides are big so people can easily share. Lots of place to dine in but it was little bit busy when we went on weekday for dinner so I would recommend putting reservation. But without reservations we were seated within 10-15 mins. Staff are nice food came out in timely manner.

Food was amazing, pizza was really delicious. Service was really quick and amazing. Its busy a lot so little bit loud. But worth it. Amazing treat after long day of hike.

Food that they serve is of good quality and taste. However as a vegetarian I would consider their choices to be limited and the non alcoholic drinks options was also limited.

We sat at the bar and really enjoyed it. Aaron was fantastic managing the bar while also attending to our orders seamlessly. The rest of the bar and wait staff were equally attentive, engaging and enjoyable.

The food was terrific with large portions, the agnolotti was the stand out dish for us.

Start to finish a great night.

Try the affogato for desert but leave enough room as we couldn’t finish ours (one is enough to share for a couple I would suggest)

Best happy hour in banff! Excellent food (everything is delicious! But try the beef tartare). Top notch service, great vibe and nice views of the town and mountains. Don't miss it!

Authentic Italian food and outstanding service. Spicy rigattoni ala vodka, carbonara and Agnolotti were delish. Wouldn't miss Agnolotti. The pepe dish was our least fav. All in all, a must go restaurant while you are in Banff.

Pretty on the outside, empty on the inside. I live in Banff and will not recommend this place to anyone unless they simply want to look at pretty decor. Food is meh, overpriced, and not authentic Italian. Pizza was underprepared, menu was not obvious, the caprese salad was terrible. Cold cold cold tomatoes, next to no mozzarella, and one basil leaf. I can make a better caprese salad from Spud, imported mozzarella and my own basil growing on the porch. Go for a delightful “pretty” cocktail and happy hour, then ignore the rest. I also feel terrible leaving this review, but after three visits since Lupo has opened, this is my best take. Sad sad sad.

Amazing dining experience! Went with a group of friends, we all ordered different things and loved it.

Standouts from the table in no particular order were: Roseline, Mafaldine al Limone (added shrimp), Uncle Morty (mushrooms were either added or put in as a substitution for something else)

LUPO has a wonderful atmosphere and fabulous staff. They explain their process of making their food from scratch. The effort that they take to make the experience special is evident. I had the aperol spritz and my boyfriend had the frozen peach bellini - both delicious. We had the potato truffle fries and a prosciutto and arugula pizza to start. They were phenomenal. For our main, we split the pesto pasta and it was so light and filling. I would go again every night if I lived there.

Dined here for our 5th anniversary. Seated immediately. Waited 30 minutes for a bottle of wine and martini to arrive. Waited an additional 15 minutes to place an appetizer order. Server apologized for ‘getting side tracked’. I guess it allowed us to look at the nice decor while we waited. Had the mozzarella sticks, tuna crudo and meatballs to start, very tasty. Followed by our mains which eventually showed up. We had Caico e pepe and Roseline - Caico was almost smokey in taste (Tenfoot is still the winner for Caico) and Roseline was different and tasty. No one every refilled our wine glasses.maybe too large of an expectation on our part. Overall a 3/5 as the food was plentiful and the service was mediocre at best.

We were visiting Banff and the Fairmont Hotel recommended Lupo in Downtown. The food was excellent, so tasty and appealing and our server was so friendly and helpful. Would suggest you visit Lupo for great food and a great vibe!

Beautiful spot, welcoming atmosphere, & warm hospitable staff. Their cocktails pleased the pallet, & the food is literally **chefs kiss** 100000/10 highly recommend.
