Dr Jones is the real deal. He is so friendly to my pooches and gives every single option for dealing with an ailment. The staff at the desk are all amazingly kind people and encourage visits to pop in just for snacks to keep the vet a positive space for the dogs!

My family has been coming here for decades and they have been amazing with all of our dogs.

If i could give them a zero i would. Have been going to them for years and my dog had either a stroke or a seizure and it was time to put him down.
They could make time for me the next day if he was to be looked at but because he was being put down they couldn’t fit me in until a week later. Money grabbing crooks. Obviously helping to put a dog out of their misery while a family shows their loyalty isn’t a top priority.

I've been coming here with my cats for some time and have always found the staff kind and courteous. However, I've recently discovered severe price gouging when it came time to have my new kitten spayed. They want over $600 for the procedure. I called a local spay and neuter clinic that will do it for $215. So be aware of the price you're paying here.

The staff here were so kind and helpful. They went into detail about the surgery my dog was getting and were available to answer all my questions. I spent months debating the surgery I was getting because of the cost, and after calling vets in Calgary and surrounding areas I was quoted $3000 and upwards, I was able to get at done at Macleod for less then half that price but still with a lot of care. I am glad I was able to find this place and will be back if I need anything else done in the future:)

Never had an issue dealing with this location and have been coming here for over 10 years. They are friendly, honest and my pup is always happy to be there. We drive across the city to ensure our pup's needs are met.

I have been going to this vet for years. Love the staff and the prices are very reasonable compared to other vets. They truly care about the animals, which is definitely the most important thing to me.

Very expensive! I paid $200 for my puppy's first set of vaccine. There are other clinics in Calgary that offers $90 for the same set I got.

The staffs are nice but the pricing is way too much.

I found that this vet is more about making money than about the animal care.

They seem really nice, but once I’d been to another vet with my pets, I really realized how money focused they are.

I’ll never bring any of my pets to this vet again.

Both the staff and Dr Jones were wonderful to deal with! Our kitty was relatively calm despite all the dogs around and just the uncertainty of being somewhere new. It's only been a few days and can already tell the plan for him is working. Highly recommend!

Great service from Dr. Scott, she looked into the history of our dog and really helped me make educated decisions for my elderly doggo.

We have been taking our family pets here for 25 years, most recently last week to say good bye to our 13 year old pup! The staff is caring, kind, and always goes above and beyond. They will only recommend and charge you for what’s absolutely necessary for your pet. We just received in the mail a card & footprints of our pet we said goodbye to. Just another heartfelt touch from this amazing clinic. We will never go anywhere else (and we live 40 mins away!) Thank you for all that you do!

I love the staff at Macleod Trail Animal Hospital! Not only do they know me and my dog by name, the front desk staff are always cheerful and incredibly helpful, and the veterinarians have supported a couple difficult surgeries and complicated medical problems.

They are very polite. Very kind. My pup fell instantly for the front staff. The Vets know their stuff and are just as polite and kind as the front staff. Very happy with them taking care of my puppy.

Very kind staff who genuinely care for the animals that need their help. Eager to explain medication in detail and they ensure you understand everything with patience. Got an appointment immediately, and got bloodwork, diagnosis, and treatment medication for my kitty all in one day. I've been worrying nonstop for her but I feel like she's in good hands. As a child we brought our family dogs here. Over 20 years later I now bring my dogs here and highly recommend their services.

Best vet ever in fact my dog loves them so much you can't say vet without him grabbing his own leash and trying to take him self there. Best staff love there jobs and it truly shows they are attentive compassionate and kind and your animals with thank you!

I can here as a child with my family cat and I always felt comfortable coming here and my mother continued using them until she moved away.
Now my 14 year old dog Teddy had his first visit here and he seemed just fine and the staff is very nice and the vet came out and discussed my dogs health and suggested treatment.

Fantastic Veterinary, all the staff are super friendly and really care. Always give you peace of mind with the information they give and open to any questions.

Another big plus is never feeling I was ripped off for any service my dog/animal received. A huge plus as vet care can be pricy.

The doctor was great, had our dog in and out very quickly, and was thorough in his explanation on her treatment and what was wrong with her.

A special thank you to Dr. Christian Jones for all you’ve done and to Dr. Michael Edwards who did an amazing job with Molly’s life saving Surgery which gives us many more years of love and snuggles! Nothing against McLeod Trail Animal Hospital but why are pet meds so expensive? I do love my pup but it’s not ever cheap for me

A great vet practice. We've had two dogs and a cat at this practice for the past 3 years and they have been very caring, responsive and pro-active. Lovely team of vets and nurses who go out of their way to take the best care of your pets. Reasonably priced and conservative/sensible in their approach, unlike some vets in our area which charge a fortune, recommending unnecessary testing and treatments, pandering to anxious owners. Highly recommend the Macleod Trail team for honest, straightforward, caring and kind service.

I have used them for years for my dog and cats, they use to be outstanding but there customer service has gone way down. Way to hard to get into to see a vet and now just rushed through. After years of using them and just dropping a thousand dollars in vet bills in the last month, they did not even try too accommodate a booking error on there end. Time to find a new vet

They treat us well with both dogs and accommodate when there are immediate needs or issues. We've been going here almost 5 years and the vets/techs are great!

Dr. Michael Edward's is phenomenal. He has been taking the time to both connect with my kitten as well as teach me about owning him, as I have never had a cat before. Tux absolutely loves his vet visits, and Dr. Edward's always makes sure that I am comfortable as well since I do not drive to the appointments. I've taken my cats and dogs here for well over 20 years. This vet clinic has always been very good. I've tried other places and nothing really compares to it. The veterinarians are all kind, thorough and professional. Although 2020 has been a rough year in regards to losing my two beloved cats, the bright side was the staff and their care. Dr. Edwards and Dr. Jones are two of the very best vets you'll ever meet. The support staff is also committed and compassionate. I would definitely recommend this clinic to anyone.

Pleasant service. They loaded dog food into the back of my vehicle and brought out the c/c terminal. I was told the dog food I ordered was the same as what was being given to me but was just in new packaging. When I got it home I noticed the ingredients were different: potato, duck by product, coconut oil, potato protein, hydrolyzed soy protein, natural flavors, veg oil. My usual dog food: oat flour, rice, duck meal, rice hulls, veg oil, natural flavors, brewers dried yeast.completely different then the dog food I ordered. They agreed to take it back.

Not actually a client but we purchase our dog food from there. The ladies are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable.

The MacLeod Trail Animal Hospital is absolutely the best animal hospital we have been to. They have the best staff they are so knowledgeable and so friendly. Our vet is Dr. Jagger. She is the absolute best. Our dog feels so comfortable going with her without us being with him.

I've been going to Macleod Trail Animal hospital since March. I picked them as they are the vet that my breeder has been using so that gave me the confidence that they were the best vet for my dog. I can't compare their prices with another vet as I've just gone here as these guys already have experience with my breed. My experiences so far have been awesome. Every time I visit I feel like the staff make as much effort as possible to make sure I fully understand what is going on with my dog and what they are doing to help him. I never feel rushed or that there is a question left unanswered. They also make a follow up call the day after to make sure everything is ok.

My Labrador unfortunately ran into something and had a nice sized wound on his side. It couldn't of come at a worse time as my wife and I ran into a temporary financial issue. I called MacLeod Trail Animal Hospital and they were extremely courteous, professional and willing to help and came up with a plan to fix my dog up within my price range. It actually worked and my Labrador has healed up nicely. They are awesome and very compassionate about what they do. I will be taking my dogs here from now on (here now waiting to get both of their vaccines done!) - it's so nice to deal with these people instead of the big corporation vet companies in the area *cough* VCA *cough*. I've have been taking my pets here since I was a little girl. (Much longer then all the staff I'm sure) have always been treated with respect and compassion.

Great place to take your animals for care. Everyone here is courteous, kind, and informative.

They even take everyone's health seriously. For example, during Covid the vet would take your pets into the building for you and then bring them back out once their checkup was done. They would then inform you of your pet's health.

I've brought every furry family member here for 15 years. They are an amazing group of people, the front staff are very kind and I've never felt overcharged. My dog gets very excited when it's her turn to go to the vet.

They just love what they do so much! They are always smiling and kind. They take such good care of our animals!

When my cat was sick they were very quick to respond and were able to take her on as a new patient. Dr. Nourozieh is very kind and she really seems to care about helping my cat feel better. Thank you for the excellent care!

This is a great place to take your pets. They are professional and attentive. Costs are also reasonable.

Dr. Mckonkey was a great Veternarian who save our dogs life. He cared so much! So sad he is now fully retired

Had some dental work done on my 15 yr old daschund by Dr. Edwards. Finally felt really good about a Vet, this is the place for sure - just wish i had been going there years ago. Thank you to all your staff!

I have been in Calgary for 2 years and have been looking for a good vet. I needed one with a dermatologist specialist at it as well. I made an appointment after covid and the vet came out and greeted me in person in the parking lot with PPE equipment on. They examined my dog and were so helpful & friendly! My dog was well taken care of and relaxed. They didn't try to get me to pay for extra procedures either! Very thankful I found them and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a vet clinic!

Used to be a great place until our favourite veterinarian was gone with no explanation. If you're looking for Dr. Joanna Pytka, she's at Lake Bonavista Animal Clinic.

Absolutely horrendous experience. I was ridiculed by the girls up front for wanting to care and love for my pet. They don’t care about you and will hawk in your face when you just want animal care for your pet. Do not recommend.

My senior rescue cat appeared to be in pain from arthritis. Brought her into see Stephanie, one of the vets, and was professionally advised how to help my cat and all the next steps. Lots of compassion and professionalism. No need to go anywhere else.

I am somewhat baffled with Janet Desrochers negative post. Not because you were told your dog probably had 3 months to live that it was misdiagnosed because at 15 she is still alive. Educate yourself, cancer affects both dogs and humans in similar ways. My grand father was told he had 6 months to live and he lived 10 years more so I guess I should go and bash this doctor? Rather than bashing a doctor, learn more and be grateful your pooch is still around. I have been a client of Macleod trail clinic since 2009 when we rescued our first dog who sadly passed away of CANCER in May 2016. We have since rescued two more dogs and have always had great experiences. My pooches have been seen by Dr. Edwards, Dr. Jones and Dr. McConkey. All 3 doctors are very professional and very passionate when it comes to your animals. Never once did I find a reason to discredit them, not once! Yes, people move on but this doesn't give you carte blance to bash the other vets. Dr. Pitka moved on, then I suggest you move on!

I can assure you folks, experience and care is of the utmost importance for this clinic. There is nothing like walking in with your pooches and not battle to turn around Looking for The door. The service is outstanding and all vets, including their vet techs take care of your pooch/cat like they are their own. If u want a great experience, I would highly recommend you visit them. You and your fur legged member will be happy.

Always have pleasant and helpful front desk staff. We see Dr Edwards and he is caring and professional with our two little dogs.

This is our favourite vet clinic! My cats love Doctor Edwards, he is a PHENOMENAL vet, listens to concerns, and truely shows he cares. This office also has some of the best vet techs I have encountered. Please DO NOT pay any attention to the garbage reviews left below, these are false and untrue attempts at knocking down a doctor who goes above and beyond to show animals the care that they deserve.

We have really enjoyed our experience with Mac trail animal hospital in the past but were surprised and upset that our vet - Dr. J. Pytka, who specializes with our breed, is no longer at the clinic. We understand that people move on but we couldn't get any forwarding information to reach our vet and were mid treatment.
Edit January 2019 - anyone trying to find Dr. Pytka should be able to find her at Okotoks animal hospital.

We have been clients of MacLeod Trail Animal Hospital for many years and have always felt that all our animals were getting the best care possible, We now have 3 cats in our retirement years and they are cared for by Dr. Michael Edwards. He is gentle when handling them and truly cares for our animals who have no fear of visiting the clinic so we all enjoy our visits. If Dr. Edwards was unavailable we would have no worries about seeing any of the Vets at this clinic. They have friendly experienced technicians and there is always a smile and a warm welcome at the front desk.
