To celebrate our 4yo autistic child’s birthday, we made a special request to Maclin Ford asking if we could come in to view a Ford Raptor F-150—our child’s favourite truck. Freedom of Ford Maclin came in during his day off to not only show us the Raptor (that he pulled from the lot and prepared for us ahead of time), but he gave my thrilled children a tour around the showroom with patience, care, and genuine kindness. My child left with 3 Raptor toy model trucks that he keeps with him always. We will never forget Freedom’s generosity and kindness. I have my eye on the Ford Mustang Mach-E, and when the time comes, I will be reaching out to Freedom!

Once they have your money good luck getting anything dealt with. They will deny problems and stop answering your phone calls. Sales people are great but once they get their sale you’re abandoned. Service department and managers are the worst I have ever dealt with. Bought a used 2019 F-350 with 64,000 Km in October. On my way home from picking it up went into a death wobble after they said they did their full inspection. Brought it to a mechanic to check out the front end and a bunch of components were worn. Brought it to Maclin who were only going to replace the steering dampener until I sent the front end report from the other shop. They then fixed all the parts. Issue 2 while they had the truck they were supposed to fix the tailgate cable and didn’t saying it worked fine which it still doesn’t drop like it’s supposed to. Issue 3 starter would intermittently grind and not start the truck as the trucks not under warranty even though it was probably doing this prior. I am now stuck with a bill to change out the starter and replace the ring gear so another 2,500$. When the initial death wobble happened I tried to get them to refund my money and they would not and stopped answering my phone calls. Keep in mind I had the truck for a mer 3 hours when this happened. All in now the truck will have been in the shop longer then I have got to drive it. Extremely disappointed with them as a whole. I will never buy a truck through Maclin Ford again.

Update: I called regarding the issue with the ring gear (fly wheel) which I have paid for and fixed as I bought a truck to drive not sit at the dealer. Told them about the flex plate having an updated bevel and asked if it was an issue as the new part is different then the defective one. I was told sounds like the starter caused the issue and the work wasn’t done at Ford so nothing they can do. Today spoke with Cold Lake Ford who asked for pictures of the parts and was told by that dealership that there is a case being started for these flex plates and is a know issue and got a contact with ford canada to call. Had to call another dealership to do what Maclin should have. Great customer service…. From Cold Lake Ford! Maclin Will not help you if there is an issue or even give you advice on who to talk to. Photos attached with different parts. How could this not be an issue if the updated part is that much different. New part top defective part on the bottom.

We came into Maclin Ford and were greeted by a salesman, whose name was Steve. We found the car we wanted, and he was so helpful going through the process. The managers introduced themselves to us which was a nice touch. I would very happily recommend Maclin Ford, and ask for Steve! Helpful and personable. A winning combination.

On November 13,2023 I was at Maclin Ford looking into buying a SUV or a Truck, I had purchased a SUV here in 2010, my parent had purchased two vehicles here as well. I met with Sales Freedom who introduced me to a 2020 F150 XLT. Freedom showed me the vehicle, test drove the vehicle, the with his management team we worked out a deal, and it was a great deal! I then met Adam from finance who secured me the loan effortlessly, and went over the extended warranty ensuring I understood it and answered all the questions I had. Not once did I feel pressured or unsure of what I was buying. Freedom showed me all the features of the truck, then when all the papers were completed, he handed me the key, not keys.the truck only came with 1 set, with the assumption there should be two. Freedom took care of this asap and I had a new Key and Fob within the week. Freedom showed me how to use the Ford App for my truck which is so handy! I paid more than what I budgeted for, but I got so much more for the added expense with peace of mind. I would buy another vehicle from Maclin Ford in the future and aim my sites on a New Expedition! They were courteous, and willing to negotiate the price down, in response to my showing a lower price. They did try to pull a few fast ones on me. They put cardboard over the mars in the front, which covered damage to the mats. They also told me they would full detail the vehicle before picking it up, but it still had mud on the flaps, as well as bug guts on the front.

First time calling Maclin ford to book my used truck in for service. 27 min on the phone setting up an account for an oil change? I’m pretty sure there using a call centre from over seas. When they tell you a service advisor will contact you shortly? I asked to speak to service to book an apt. Then was transferred to call centre where English was very very limited. Sure hope the service dept has there ducks in a row.

Looked at a vehicle on the 13th Nov.bought it and picked up on the 15th. Was very pleased with the service and additional help offered when needed. Thank you Maclin.

I bought a 2018 Ford F150 XLT from Hunter. Great kid, good salesman. Deepak the finance manager worked with me the financing and I was very happy with the total interest on the principal amount over the years I financed my vehicle. Would gladly recommend this group if you're looking to buy a vehicle!

Before you buy a car, they respond quickly to complaints, emails, or problem solving. However, after purchasing a car, the response or solution to the complaint or problem solving is very late or there is no response.

The amazing people at Maclin made the entire experience so easy and worry free!

I visited them knowing I would need to trade in my clunker and I had no money to put down. I ended up with affordable payments on a beautiful (newer) vehicle with more options than I thought would ever be possible.

They were friendly and helpful from start to finish. They listened to what my needs were and delivered above and beyond my expectations.

Car broke down 1 day into a 5 day trip on a Friday just before lunch. Scott in service was able to get it diagnosed and fixed by 5pm. He was friendly, funny and an absolute pleasure to deal with. Might have to move to Calgary for that kind of service!

What a wonderful experience I have received from Maclin Ford. It was a pleasure dealing with Michelle she was absolutely amazing she set me up with a trade-in to a beautiful Ford Edge that I absolutely love. She was so wonderful it’s like I made a new friend! She went above and beyond my expectations and I do believe that she sold the car to me as I wasn’t expecting to buy a vehicle that day, but I believe if it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t have bought this beautiful edge.

Very bad experience with this Dealer he is the worst

They took $1000 deposit on a new car from my credit card and the deal didn’t go through and they refused to refund my money back
I called many times to get a refund with promises that the manager will call back but he never call back and kept on ignoring my calls!
I advice everybody not to buy from this dealer
And Never put a deposit.

Maclin is the worst car dealership in Alberta. They will sell you a lemon and refuse to fix anything that’s wrong because “they’ve put too much into it already”. If the car is that un functional, it should have been reported in the inspection report, and disclosed (it leads me to believe that they lie in their reports). They will lie through their teeth to get you to buy a vehicle.

Buying from maclin, is the equivalent to buying privately from someone that doesn’t know anything about cars.

I absolutely loved the integrity behind the staff at Maclin Ford. The 2021 Ford F-150 XLT that I bought was what I wanted. I chose Maclin because the service was too notch. I’m really happy I was lead there. Everything was perfect.

This is the worst dealership. They lie to get to make you give the deposit and do not deliver the car. They tell you need X documents to get possession of the car, and keep changing it, it's been 8 days since they have got our deposit, but every time we go there ask for new documents. Amanda in the finance depart is absolute worse, will take the money and make you wait for days! I am going to complain to the better business bureau, as once they get the deposit, they do not listen to you. Worst decision every to go with this dealership. Either sales is lying or finance, at the end of the day, they are the worst nightmare ever!

dead battery within a month

Spark plugs (I was smart enough to go iridium, the gap on the old ones was WAY off)

Three tires with slow leaks in both sets

Air conditioner failure (didn't notice until 6 months later cuz I bought it in winter)

Missing rear seat headrests (but that's on me admittedly, I did test drive it)

Failing paint (up to $5g if I'm gonna fix it)

Was repainted after taking hail damage, never disclosed to me until I went to get touch up paint with my VIN, VIN said glacial white, mine is tangerine scream, and not well painted upon further look

Was shown a mechanic report card but never had one in my final package so what did I see?

Asked sales repeatedly for mechanic report to be emailed, got nothing from them

Super high pressure sales tactics like I haven't worked with cars my whole life and know all the BS sales people use (I was going to buy the car no matter what because I have the internet and checked it out, just was super rushed in the whole process, looks like I know why)

The pros:

Actually love the car tho, lots of work to go but the funnest car I've ever owned and I planned on lightly modding anyway, so I'll be under the hood to fix a lot of the problems

Good tread on both sets of tires, despite the leaks (the summers ain't cheap)

RS airbox and Cobb Cat back exhaust with a turbosmart BOV, symposer delete, new pads and rotors, will need motor mounts eventually, but those upgrades are on the previous owner, good looking out not sure if it was tuned but if it was, previous owner sold the access port separately (runs fast and clean after plug replacement and I only run 93)

Brendalee in finance really went above and beyond, not just getting me a rate that I didn't think was possible for me at the time, an industry discount on a warranty but also giving me sound financial advice in general, my credit rating is up since I spoke with her by about 45%

I am happy with my car but now noticed that my gas cover does not close. You are supposed to be able to open it from in the car and then open the inner gas cover. The outer one won't shut. Brad that went with me on the test drive etc. Was nice. The manager that took my payment however seemed to rush me through the final paperwork and said that I refused extra warranty when he never actually asked me. A rough copy of what needed to be done on the car was given to me, but not a final work sheet on what was done. When I was discussing the price with another manager, he informed me that with taxes, AC tax, tire tax etc. The car would be an extra
$1,666. When I mentioned I looked up Amvic and no extra fees are to be added to the price, the price came back down to $10,488 with tax. In Alberta, there are to be no extra fees added on an advertised price.

I purchased a year old truck from Maclin, sight unseen delivered on a semi to my door. The truck arrived with no floor matts in it, interior wasn't as clean as it should be, windshield was chipped in half a dozen spots (the Sales Rep had told me it was brand new), and it had 38,000 KM on it, (the bill of sale displayed 31,000 KM). The Sales Rep also assured to me that the truck was fully inspected and will pass an out of province safety, which it didn't due to aftermarket tires and a lift kit that was deemed unsafe for the road; along with the damaged windshield. Maclin reimbursed me for the windshield and floor matts, along with a PST reimbursement because Maclin originally charged me PST, but didn't document it properly on the Bill of Sale with a PST number, resulting in me paying ~$3,000.00 in tax an additional time before I could insure the vehicle. I was responsible for the necessary repairs in order to insure and plate the year old truck. The truck had been purchased from Maclin with emissions modifications which I was aware of, aftermarket exhaust and tuning. The Sales Rep (Ali Al-Shimari) assured factory warranty was still remaining even with the modifications; I had written evidence of this and this was the only reason I purchased the truck (who wants a year old truck with invalid warranty?) When I spoke with James Fyles, the General Sales Manager, and provided the evidence for the factory warranty guarantee he denied his employee's statement. James offered a free oil change, but after calling and emailing him multiple times, I never got a response back in order to use this. This dealership has very poor communication skills, I called the dealership multiple times a week in order to try and get things resolved; it was a fight and all I got was a windshield and floor matt reimbursement (which should have been included originally). Dozens of emails and voicemails went unanswered. I would avoid Maclin unless you want a headache, all they care about is making money on the sale.

This is our second new vehicle in 3 months and the sales staff was amazing. The sales manager remembered us from our previous purchase and there was no pressure or attempts to upgrade the vehicle I was interested in. Sarbdeep in sales and Amanda in finance were amazing to deal with.

Maclin Ford has been great to deal with. Very friendly service and great follow up in purchasing my Ford Explorer. Sales person, sales manager and the business manager were all excellent to deal with. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and would definitely make another purchase from Maclin Ford in the future.

Jayden Stauffer is amazing! I can honestly say this has been the best car buying experience I’ve ever had. Jayden was very informed, genuine, and knew all the ins and outs of the car even though it was not a Ford.
He was enthusiastic about explaining the car’s numerous features. Went above and beyond my expectations, from back and forth emails from the start to our final face to face interaction.

My experience with the rest of the MacLin Ford team was also great. They were able to do a very quick approval. My bank was slow at approval and I was so excited to get the car. Deepak processed my application way quicker than my bank and at a better rate. When we met, he was prepared, professional, friendly, welcoming and made things go quickly and efficiently.

Sardeep made the process so easy he’s really nice and helpful I recommend everyone to go maclin Ford and ask for the customer service is the best I’ve received from any dealership I will definitely be coming back to do more business.

Charged $35 for a paint pen (a pen of paint) and $260 for a trailer brake controller panel (small panel with a few buttons) which they tried to sell us installation for even though we declined and is $170 online. Despite us being paying customers for expensive parts, sales couldn't spare the few cents of electricity for use of the EVSE up front for the 15 minutes we were there.

This is the first review I have ever left. I would like to thank Maclin Ford. Your team was very kind, forthcoming, and over all a pleasure to work with.

After dealing with a few other dealers first, I was overwhelmed, and stressed by the time I had gotten to Maclin Ford. Even with being from out of town, they worked well to help me every step of the way.

Chris, the sale guy, took my list of must haves, and found me a great truck. Taking a nice video to send So I wouldn’t have to travel if it wasn’t what I wanted. Saving me time, which I much appreciated. When I finally picked up my truck he went through all the technical stuff with me. Showing how to use all the cool features Ford has. Also giving me his card, making it very clear if I forgot anything and needed help to call him. He would happily walk me through anything again, if need be. He was funny, and sweet.

James, the numbers guy, was great at answering all my question about interest rates, term length, and working with where I wanted my payments to be. He was nice, funny, honest, but still to the point.

Amanda in finance was a joy. She is cheer, fun going, just an all around great person to come across. She made should everything was looked after. Quick to respond to question and patient when waiting for things from me. She was also great with my kids when I came to pick up my truck. Getting them balloons, feeding them donuts (asking and apologizing before doing so), and showing them the play area and bathrooms while I was busy.

I cannot say enough great things about this dealership. Thank you all for making a stressful decision fun, and easy. I love my truck. When it’s time for a new one, I will be back.

Was looking at purchasing a used SUV from Maclin and had an amazing experience. I didn't end up buying the vehicle in the end due to wanting something with a little less KM on the odometer, but I would not hesitate to come back here and shop again. Sean, Chris and Deepak were all awesome the whole way through even though we didn't buy. Understanding, timely and very fair negotiation.this dealer experience was night a day vs anywhere else I've been.

Anyone who knows me - and now a few people who don't - know I know very little about vehicles of any kind, including my own. I once embarrassingly asked a gas station cashier to assist me in removing my gas cap. It was either that, or abandoning my Ford Escape at said gas station and reporting it as stolen to avoid said embarrassment, which I legitimately considered. (I wish I were kidding.) Needless to say, people in the car service industry recognize me as someone who could potentially be taken advantage of. At Maclin Ford, however, I was treated with the upmost respect and patience. I wasn't made to feel foolish, which is precisely what I was expecting regardless of how I was treated. Everything from being greeted and having it explained to me that I was exactly where I shouldn't be, to the detailed explanation of what was done, what needs to be done, and how long is safe to wait to do it before being handed my keys, was a five-star experience. Thank-you, Trevor, Phil, Mac, and team! I likely would have been stranded by the side of Deerfoot by week's end without you.

Found purchase a positive experience. Riaz extremely friendly and helpful with no pressure. Had a misunderstanding (mine) and Ty was able to remedy it before pickup of my new Ranger, even on his day off! That’s service.

This is my second purchase at Maclin. My first was a new focus ST and this time it was a 2010 ford explorer XTL truck. I have been treated the same awesome way buying an old used truck as I was buying a brand new Car. Chris and Jill Were amazing to deal with and we had lots of fun conversations while we completed the deal.

I've customer of Maclin Ford for many years. They always are very kind and diligent showing me options above my expectations.

The other day I dealt with Brad (sales), Steve (manager) and Amanda (finance manager) and I cannot recommend them enough! They made miracles happen. They listened to what I wanted, what I had to work with and they just made it work, when I thought it was impossible. It was very low pressure and you can tell they cared. I couldn’t be happier with all of them and my new vehicle. I 100% recommend any of them anytime and encourage you to go and talk to them to get the vehicle you’ve wanted!

While waiting for the deal to close we emailed our sales rep, Brad, and he ignored the message. When we saw him in person he had clearly received the email and chosen not to respond. He glazed over the responses and rushed us inside to sign the deal docs.

After the deal closed I emailed Andy, the finance rep, with a question. While we were in his office he told us to email him with any questions. The email went without an answer.

We were also given the incorrect date for our first finance payment - a payment came out 2 weeks early with no notice.

I would definitely not return.
