Make Space Storage

I found Make Space last August in 2022, they were cheaper than any of their competitors and on top of that the customer service I received from Courtney was absolutely top drawer! Courtney made the process simple and quick and courteous. I highly recommend Make Space Storage.

We’ve been loyal customers in this storage unit for over 8 years. Recently I received a registered letter in the mail informing me that our trailer had been seized-this was the very first time we were notified that anything was wrong. Immediately we contacted Make Space, who informed us that because we hadn’t updated our expired credit card we were 3 payments behind and our trailer had been seized and sent to auction. When we inquired as to why we were not contacted, they indicated that they had emailed- to an email address that was no longer in use. They never called the cell phone number that was on file, and they claimed that they also sent two letters via registered mail. The woman we spoke to admitted that she knew we never received any registered mail because she still had both letters in her possession. I work from home, so should have been home to receive those letters and have huge doubts that they were even sent. Before Make Space took over this storage unit, the man who owned it had called us to get up to date credit card information when it was close to expiring. With Make Space, instead of us settling up less than $500 in missed payments for a mistake in not catching the one business we forgot to update our credit card info with, we were now told that we had 15 days to come up with $3000 in late fees, bailiff fees, storage fees at the auction, and had been charged $25 per day in storage backdated to whenever they took our trailer or it would be sold at auction. I understand we have some fault in forgetting to update our email and credit card expiry, but it doesn’t feel like the company made any effort in trying to contact us beyond automated emails, possibly so they could make more money in all the additional late charges. A simple call would have solved all of this. We were left feeling absolutely defeated as that’s money we don’t have.

This company doesn’t care about clients, only money to be made. Take your business down the road to the family owned storage unit off 22x.

Have rented pad for motorhome for last 7 years and had good experience until this year. My catalytic converter was stolen over the winter and I’m hesitant to keep parking the motorhome here. The storage lot is very large with little to no security other than a card key gate. It’s easy to access the lot by following someone in or someone with legitimate access is free to roam the lot and commit a crime. Don’t know the answer but my rv is not safe.
