Maligne Adventures

We had a Tour with Brandt today. And we have to say it was a once in a Lifetime Advanture. He is just a wonderfull human beeing, with just unlimited Storys and knowledge. And just because of his knowledge, we managed to see a bear with his child in the afternoon. Thanks for everything and greetings from Austria.

We have not booked a tour, so I can not say anything about it. But.
Nevertheless, we did not have a good experience with this organizer.
The drivers of the minibuses in the park harass other vehicles to show wildlife to their guests on board.
We unfortunately had to experience this several times in the national park with our own car. They stop across the road, even in curves, block the traffic in both directions and endanger the traffic and other people with such actions.
We were once wedged by 2 buses. That is not ok.
It is just as bad how close they get to the wild animals with their vehicles. To do this, the doors of the bus are opened, all the noise penetrates outside. Inside the bus, flashes from the cameras through the windows.
Such disrespectful behavior in a nature reserve I can unfortunately not understand. Everywhere is pointed out correct and careful behavior towards the animals. But apparently not everyone must adhere to it.

Great tour with experienced guide. We went to Maligne Canyon, Medicine Lake and Maligne Lake with Jamie and really enjoyed it. He was great, had great information ready, was nice and was very committed! We can only recommend it, gladly again

An excellent day viewing many amazing sights around the Jasper area, including seeing wildlife. Jamie was a fun guide with great knowledge. Fabulous day.one of the highlights of our Canadian holiday.

Les instructeurs sont très sympas mais c’est quand même cher pour la durée. Nous avons fait la Fraser River et nous avons dû faire 1h de rafting en tout (en enlevant les 2h de transports et les temps morts d’instruction etc). Ce n’était pas très intense… le paysage est très joli par contre!

We took the 2* experience on 07/10/23 in the morning. Our guide Tatiana was fun to ride with, she gave clear instructions and she was quite knowledgable about the river, the canyon and Jasper NP and Mount Robson PP, as well. At all times we felt safe, so that we wanted an adrenaline ride even more. If we ever ever ride again, we'd take this rafting company, because from start to finish we knew what to expect, we got clear safety instructions from all the guides and the feeling that this was an amazing morning ride in a place you are only allowed to see on a guided rafting tour. Thanks to all the guides and Tatiana in particular. May we meet again!

Took the Sunwapta Rafting Tour with my fiancé and his brother. It was our first time really rafting, on a Class III so we were excited to see how it went. Tour is a great use of your time to get some adventure, water and learn about Jasper. Levy was a great guide and gave us lots of tips for the area and long the rafting adventure. Highly recommend anyone to check this out while you are in Jasper.

Seb was an incredible guide with lots of knowledge who kept us entertained throughout the day despite the only wildlife sightings being elk. Cruise good would recommend this trip

I booked a Wildlife & Waterfalls Tour and it was amazing. The tour with Jamie was pretty awesome. He knows a lot of stuff and he had an answer to every question. I can absolutely recommend it!

Our family had a great time doing the Athabasca Express 2 hour tour! Everything was handled very well by the guides, Mason was amazing and let us engaged throughout! The class 2 rapids were a bit tame for adults who have done rafting before but for kids and first timers, this was perfect!

It was a very nice Experience. We went on the wildlife tour, The guide was extremely competent (he used ti be a wildlife photographer for the past 30 yrs), and we were a le to see a Lot of animals. A big thank to the company that, even of the power was out in Jasper, due to a fire, was able to organizer everything without a hitch.

Our family of 4 (kids aged 7 and 9) loved the Canyon Run rafting trip. Our guide Antoine was very friendly and knowledgeable about the area and our time on the river went by quickly. All the staff were enthusiastic and their energy was great. Thank you Antoine and Maligne Adventures for the great memories!

Took my family of 4 on a white water adventure and loved it! We had a 4 kids ages 6 to 10 and everyone of them had the best time. Getting splashed and paddling we really enjoyed our time. Our guide Justin was skilled and professional and most important tons of fun! I would highly recommend this company and plan on doing another adventure with them in the future.

We had an amazing adventure. Morgan, our guide, was absolutely lovely and took the time to talk to us and interact in a positive manner with the children. Would highly recommend.

Did Sunwapta run with my family (group of 6). Was organized and friendly. Guides were engaging and fun to be around. We all completely enjoyed this.

We had an amazing time doing ‘family friendly rafting adventure’! This was our first time and my 8yr old son was a bit nervous to do it! But thanks to our rafting guide Jessie. P, the whole experience turned out to be awesome! By the end, my son was asking when are we doing it next ️!
After reaching the meeting point, we signed the waiver and boarded the bus for a 15mins drive to Athabasca river. The instructions provided how to row the raft was very clear and important so do pay good attention to that! Do remember to wear your swim clothes underneath your regular clothes as you will have to remove the regular clothes and wear the wet suit provided over your swim clothes!
My son dint wanted to row so he sat in the front of the raft in duck position holding the rope tight (which is more secure position) and that made him bit comfortable. And then as we were rafting, Jessie gave us good explanation how the river is flowing in a certain manner and how to row it smoothly making the whole experience a breeze. The confidence with which the crew explains and take charge of the raft gives us lot of confidence!
Highly recommended and a big shout out to Jessie. P and to the whole crew! You guys were awesome!

This was our first time experience with rafting and we had a blast. The staff is very professional and friendly. The experience was great and we enjoyed so much that we are targeting for the next level (class 3) soon. Highly recommended if you are visiting Jasper.

The whole operation was a very smooth experience. Our guide Dan was fantastic and gets 5+ stars for his friendly, interactive and fun attitude. He knew we wanted to get splashed and he guided us into the best whitewater! Thanks maligne for a great first time rafting experience.

Did the Sunwapta Falls white water rafting and it was great! Our guide Ty was awesome. Class 3 rapids sounds scary without any experience but it was really fun. 5 stars, would recommend!

Great experience from the pick up to drop off. Everything was well organized. Experience guide and quickly brought us confidence.

Had such a great wildlife tour with Ross. He went above and beyond to find us animals. We were fortunate enough to see an Elk that had antlers they size of a person and a moose and her calf. He also was able to show us an Eagle's nest that had a young eagle waiting for its dinner, which it's mom served fresh while we watched and plenty of other smaller animals on the way as well The drive to Maligne lake was fabulous. Next summer we plan on taking the rafting and white water tours. Highly recommend this tour for the value alone. I know they can't guarantee the big mammals but when they do come out it is quite magical.

Sebastian was a phenomenal tour guide - very familiar and knowledgeable about the area, and great to talk to! I would highly recommend this tour to anybody without access to a car wanting to see Maligne lake or anyone who just wants to learn a lot more about the area.

Do not recommend – may not paddle for the entire excursion.

Lessons learned: When you’re asked which position of the boat you want, pick anything, so you don't get stuck in the “princess” position. When in doubt, ensure that there are a sufficient number of spots on the boat to accommodate your group size.

The guides were knowledgeable and experienced, and the transportation and logistics were handled well enough, but the overall operations could use significant improvement.

On our outing at Sunwapta River on 7/15 1: 30PM, there were two boats that each could seat 6 paddlers and the guide. That day, there was a group of 5,2,2, and our group of 3. The groupings made it so that the guides put the group of 5 in one boat and the rest of us in the other boat, for a total of 7.

We were told that one person would have to ride “king” or “princess” position, but that we would rotate out once we were on the river. We were not asked if we would split up, and frankly why would we? You wouldn't split up a couple and have them raft separately, why would you do that to a group of friends?

I sat in the non-paddling position for a third of the trip. This position SUCKS. You don’t have an oar. You don’t paddle. There’s no participation with any of the guide’s commands like paddling forward or backward. All you do is sit there and get splashed in the face.

When asked by the guide part way through to switch, my friend reluctantly gave up her position so that I could get a chance to paddle. At another point in the excursion, the guide asked again if anyone wanted to switch to the non-paddling position and of course no one volunteered. People don’t sign up for a river rafting adventure only to sit on a boat and get splashed in the face.

So in the end, only my group of 3 had to rotate in the non-paddling position, which I felt was incredibly unfair. Really put a damper on our first river rafting experience. I emailed customer service afterwards and they cited safety concerns and insisted that they offered to split us up (they did not, and even if they did, that’s not an acceptable solution). When signing groups up for river rafting, they should use each individual boat as the max capacity, not the overall number of seats between two boats. If we had known our group would put in a boat over the 6 person threshold and that we would have to be in the non-paddling position, we would have gone with another company.

I requested a refund of 33% of the total cost of the trip, since our group did not paddle for a third of the trip. The request was not honoured and complimentary photos were provided instead.

That was an absolute blast! The river rafting was incredibly fun, the view was spectacular, and our guide was almost the best part! Levi made the raft really fun, engaging, and he was a wealth of knowledge about the area. It was very fun to pick his brain. Really great experience all around, thank you guys!

So so so much fun on the Sunwapta river with these awesome people! Thank you Ty! And everyone at Maligne Adventures! Very informative, FUN and so kind! Best experience white water rafting yet! 10/10 would DEF do again!

This is the best wildlife tour I’ve ever gone for in my life! The tour guide was so genuine and full of knowledge. He knew a lot about the flora and fauna. I’m so glad I chose to spend my evening with maligne adventures! Had a lovely time!

Just finished our Athabasca Canyon tour with Levi, Seamus, and Steve - what an amazing experience. So grateful for the extreme professionalism, excellent gear, beyond-friendly staff, and cautious and supportive approach to COVID. Highly recommended - we’ll be back for the Sunwapta tour!

What a magical experience! We saw 5 bears, bald eagles, deer, elk and more! Our tour guide, Kelli, was extremely knowledgeable and professional. She was able to keep the attention of the whole group the entire time while adding perfect moments of humor. I highly recommend this tour to anyone seeking a personal, informative experience of this beautiful national park.

We had a wildlife tour in jasper this past weekend, and it was great! We had Ross as our driver and guide, and he was amazing. Jasper was pretty quiet this weekend, so it was actually just me and my brothers in the tour. He asked us which animal we really would like to see and he really went after the search for bears. Success! He was very informative and made the tour fun. Thank you!

This was the first time my friends and I had been white water rafting and we had an amazing time. Our guide Levi was awesome, provided tons of information about the area around us, and he made the actual rafting part super entertaining for us. Not a single negative thing to say about the experience or the business.

Had such a wonderful and fun experience. Our guide Levi was so funny and made sure the kids on the boat had a memorable experience. The rapids we did were family friendly but still had a few spots that were thrilling.

I have completed their Fraser River trip and had a great time, we were lucky to have a full view of Mount Robson this day as well! I highly recommend this tour in Jasoer

Just done the evening wildlife tour with a brilliant and knowledgeable guide, we saw elk, moose, a mother black bear with her cub and a mountain goat. A really memorable experience which will be the highlight of our holiday, thank you!

My wife and I spent two days in Jasper and thought rafting on a rainy day would be a great way to enjoy some cold/wet weather. The team that took us out that day, Jay, Andrew and Greg were an awesome time. Very knowledgeable about the river and guiding. Wanted to say thank you again, hope you enjoyed the rest of your summer.

Great fun, exciting and felt always our guide was totally in control and great info on surrounding area and wild life as we speeded down the river, thanks also for arranging sunny warm weather!

Our family did the sunwapta falls rafting trip at the end of july. The guys running the rafts were professional and fun. We were happy they were able to allow us all to be in the same raft. It was a fun day

I would like to thank the staff also our partners on the raft. Everyone was so pleasant and helpful. We had a senior 82 years of age with us and all assisted with his care. Thank you all.

This rafting team is stacked with super friendly, knowledgeable and fun guides- you will not be disappointed. We had kids under 14 in our group so did the canyon - class 2 run. It was super fun and exciting for our entire group of 10 ages 8 to 70 yrs old! So fun! Shout out to our rafting guide Will- made our trip SUPER fun, and this was our 2nd time on this run and with Will- he's awesome! Highly recommend booking with Maligned Rafting Adventures!

Great small rafting trip down the river.
The waves aren’t that big, the water is cold, the river is curves constantly and the guides are fantastic.

The guides are the youngest I have so far and are damn good on taking people down the river.

We booked the Sunwapta rafting trip (class 3). What a thrill! From booking the excursion to the end of the trip everything and everyone was perfect. Our guides Brody and Julian were personable, professional, skilled, and lots of fun! We were provided with high quality gear and precise safety instructions before touching the raft into he water.the entire experience was exhilarating and well worth the price. I’d do it again in a heartbeat.

Ryan and Adam the best people on earth to take u out on a rafting trip. It was our first and was an unforgettable experience. Ryan was toooooooooooooooo good and Adam the patient man waiting on us while we finish our rafting trip. Keep it up guys! U r the best

Had an amazing time on the wildlife tour this morning with the lovely Kelly. We got to see Bears, Coyotees, Elk and Eagles truly fantastic. Kelly was an amazing guide who has a wealth of experience and knowledge not only about the animals but the world around us. We cannot recommend this tour enough!
