Just witnessed a Muslim old lady walked out with a bag of stuff but paid for onlya couple things and walked past the security like really really need to start paying attention
Probably the worst experience I’ve ever had at a thrift store in my life. My friend and I are avid thrifters and were trying items on in the change rooms. Most of the employees hovered around the change rooms the entire time and asked if we were okay multiple times. Each time they became more and more hostile. Insinuating that we were doing something wrong. They then accused another customer of stealing when they did not and tore clothing out of their hands. I wont be returning.
I had a nice time at this place! I saw a lot of interesting, good items available here. It was unfortunate that I was not with my bestfriend since she loves going to such places and have an enjoyable time. I saw nice polo shirts perfect for my casual outfit at work. I also find adorable home decors.
Took a walker there to donate, they took it. Two weeks later, I took another walker to donate, and was told that they don't accept them. Took a kids bicycle to donate and they wouldn't take it because it had some rust on it. They want you to donate new items apparently; we take everything to the Salvation Army thrift store now.
I picked up bed sheets to make into pajamas and window coverings. I enjoy the world of sewing and re purposing items. I plan to have no waste. I'm just not able to find the color I'd like in stores.
Most categories of books are not put on the shelf and sold elsewhere. Disappointing to think we are donating only to have my best items shipped off out of the community.
Employees of Goodwill that I know very well are telling me the best ones are going to Amazon and that's why the books are low quality in the store front. It's interesting how you're trying to hide it. There must be something going on.
I'm addicted to Goodwill. I always come here to buy China and Corelle wares. I've been waiting to find another Roots backpack. Now I got one. (edited review from 9 months ago)
I've been shopping at this location for many years. Recently I've noticed a big price increase on items. Comparing to other Goodwill's in the city, this location is the worst. I am all for supporting a good cause however that does not justify this pricing.
I find pricing is being based off brand only and quality is being ignored. Northface jacket with burns and stains should not be priced at $45.00. Aldo shoes with a broken zipper and shredded heel. $20.00? ! Another example, a leather jacket that had tons of wear and noticeable holes was priced at. $60.00. These items are barely useable so I'm not sure why you are charging big dollars for these items. I have stopped coming here due to price vs quality of items. Just because they are "big brands" does not mean they should have a big price.
Also, can you please stop writing the dollar amounts on certain clothing. Permanent maker does stain and will damage items.
The books are given to a bookseller and the less desirable leftovers are what we now find for sale, so the selection has gone down to nothing. Not the best place to donate or shop based on their actions. Goodwill used to be good years ago.
It's usually relatively clean, and most of the staff I interact with are polite. Not the biggest fan of the fact the cost of things seem to be going up now, but it is what it is.
Great store. It’s usually very clean and organized. I think the markup they’ve started doing on their “designer” clothes is a little high and wish they were included in the colour of the week sales.
Visited recently. That was my last time. No washrooms for public (my 4yo wanted to use it - had to run to safeway). No fitting rooms opened and No refunds. Exchange only within 7 days with receipt only. Totally not worth it to go at the moment, with such rules
Not as organized as some other thrift stores, you may have to sift through some junk, it was all in piles. Some of of the things I liked were tucked in the back of the shelf.lots of furniture in good condition though. They made some changes recently, there are less books and more movies, and a new glass showcase counter.
Aislrs and right of ways not well marked. Many not adhering to the ones that were marked. Inability to exchange clothing, I found this in very poor taste even value village and Walmart allows exchanges. To limit amount of person to person contact we don't always have the individual with us to try the clothing on right then. No public restrooms for use again even value village and Walmart offers this. Hmmmmm prob start going to value village and Walmart a lot more seeing as they will offer far more than any goodwill store I have been in lately. Perhaps all goodwills should take some lessons from others.
Not the biggest good will out there, still a decent place to stop to find those oddities you can't get elsewhere. The store was a bit disorganized but overall was well laid out.
I stop in to the Goodwill Thrift Store from time to time. I enjoy going through the store and looking to see if they have anything I can add to my esoteric collections. It's rare that I leave empty handed. The store isn't huge but they have an interesting variety of items and the setup is conducive to getting around fairly easily, even in these times of social distancing.
Called because I was looking for an item donated by mistake, and Tamara told me she had no time to assist me or listen to my questions because she was too busy to help me. I work in retail so I 100% understand being stressed about a demanding customer over the phone, but Tamara dismissed me before I could even ask for what I needed. She simply said "I have no time to help you because it's busy on the floor and there's only so many people working. Stop asking questions. It's a waste of my time. " I showed up 10 minutes later after Tamara was disgustingly rude and unhelpful over the phone to an empty store with no one but staff. Once I was in the store all staff were unreceptive to me saying anything to them, even though all I said was "excuse me, I have a question". Disappointing experience.
Good mandate, and nice store. Prices moderate, but there can be "tag" sales, e.g. "all blue-tagged items are 50% off" for the day. During the aftermath of the pandemic, donations are being quarantined before workers are exposed.
Hit or miss if you'll find an associate to help guide you, and it's hit or miss if the associate you find knows how to help you. All things considered, it's still the better option for donating your goods.
Some good selection BUT PRICES are getting way up there! A little bag of toys are 6 to 7 dollars. Value village same little bag is usually 3 to 4 dollars. Would be nice if more toys were put out. PLEASE REMEMBER YOU ARE A THRIFT STORE. NOT A COLLECTIBLES STORE!
I like to look at DVD, cd's and books. But they really don't have them arranged well. Books are arranged by the day the came in. Which is strange in itself. For ease of viewing they should be arranged alphabetically by author. And the others just alphabetically.
This store is kind of small and doesn't have that much selection in my opinion. They also have a bag policy which means you have to leave your backpack at the front counter. I've been to 10 other goodwill stores who never had this policy so it was kind of strange.
Good selection but staff is way over protective. The first time ever that I was asked to leave my purse behind the counter. I had to walk around carrying my wallet. The security guard made me feel like a crook.
Asked me to leave my purse that was a mini backpack behind they desk with cash in it or leave was a little upset. I understand the no backpack rule. But it was a pink leather backpack purse. Never had an issue anyway else. Just left the store.
Good place to bargain hunt. Always something on sale thanks to the half price tag sale. Don't come here if you are expecting a clean and organized experience. Staff are friendly.
Love the cheap prices here! And the staff is awesome too, they didn't hound me down and follow me around the store pretending to be busied with straightening clothes, or pounce on me at the door asking if I needed help. It gets tiring when almost everywhere I go, I'm feeling immediately singled out and stereotyped as a their because of the native I got on! Lol.
I use to love coming here I pick up clothing for kids that are way below property, I don’t get why now it’s so expensive. Your getting free Donate Now it’s cheaper to go to Walmart or joe fresh ; (
Very sad I watched security there so nothing but play on there phone while a lady pushed a whole cart out, I was going to say something, but I’m thinking this lady looks like she needed help, I guess you can say she wS saved by them
Doesn't go off of fair market value for products consisted "rare" or "uncommon" finds the highest price ($450 Amazon ad) from a third party seller and goes off of that because of "15 years experience" even after showing average cost from eBay, Amazon, and MSRP from people still selling. MSRP is $99 and average resale value of $125
Lots of selection found some treasures. Was a little pricey compared to some other thrift stores especially for the books. Still found couple small things on our hunt.
This place is way overpriced, and grubby. I say that as graciously as I know how. The over-pricing is unacceptable. A bowl that wouldn't cost more than $12 brand-new was priced at $15 second-hand.
Whereas the value village seemed even more overpriced than before, prices seem steady at Goodwill and I had never seen the shelves so crammed before. Not only cheaper but much tidier than value village. Much smaller location but if I wanted a big store I'd go to Costco.
This store needs more space as they pack too much into its limited area. Unappealing store odors linger everywhere. Prices are too high to warrant fast turnover
I went here in this store just now and I have my 2 kids the small one is playing and his so loud and the security came to me and told me that were not allowed cuz my kids is louder what is this hospital or a senior home. Not good.
Seems like the service can get slow here when busy. I was here on a Sunday and had to wait for some time in line. Sizing could be sorted better, it was all over the place from what I observed. However, its a great charity that really helps the community and I like to support businesses like this.
I bought a pair of shoes and as usual due to their non refund exchange policy I didn’t keep the receipt. When I was ready to wear the shoes as I usually do removed the price ink from the sole of the shoe. I then noticed each shoe was a different size. I went to the store one day and a supervisor advised to bring them back and to ask for a supervisor on shift, they’ll see what they could do. I can explained I had no receipt and removed the ink price from the shoes. The week after I returned to the store and a different supervisor told me No she couldn’t honor an exchange and said the people in the back didn’t remember the shoes being in the store (I wouldn’t either after seeing a lot of items). So I left the shoes with her. I have attended this store since it opened to shop. I noticed that they put items in the rack now to sell that are dirty, ripped, broken items for sale and now uneven shoes. They need a better quality revision of what they put out for sale. I was disappointed with this experience so I started to shop st Value Village instead where their exchange policy is better. My advise treat customers like such after all Goodwill is the success it is due to customers who buy reusable items that others like me kindly donate.
What's happening to goodwill? So expensive, the boutique racks are over priced. I saw a plain white Calvin Klein on that rack, it was stained and dirty, you guys wanted $10? Not impressed with this location any more.
This place is not a neighborhood charity, like people think. At check out an employe has said to me, (thank you for contributing to are cause) I asked what that cause was, she didn't know. I then asked for the manager he didn't know what to say. The prices they put on there items are 50 to 60% of retail. That is unreal. The stuff they are selling are donated (free). A non profit Good Will doesn't have prices so high.
