Manning Medical Clinic

Not sure what was going on. I had 3: 50 appointment and tons of people were going in before me that came after. Even the 4 pm appointment with same doctor went in first. I eventually went up to the desk to make sure they hadn't forgotten me. I don't really mind waiting-that is to be expected at doctor's offices-that wasn't my main concern though, and wouldn't write a review just for that. It is the fact that Dr. Ashodi will only write a refill for my thyroid medication for every 3 months. As a result, I have to wait for 1 hour plus every 3 months for what is not a very serious medication and for which he asks no questions about or inquires about side-effects etc. I explained that it makes it difficult in terms of medication compliance that I might not be able to make it to appointments but it fell on deaf ears. Then he insisted I see a different doctor if I want a different arrangement or should see an endocrinologist. I inquired if he would refer me to an endocrinologist, but he said I needed to make a new appointment for that. I'm pretty sure this guy is just maximizing how many appointments he can schedule to add to his billable hours-I was with him for probably 3 minutes at that point at most. Unfortunately, he probably has me locked in for 4 appointments a year as he refuses to extend refills to 6 months or a year. I've never seen a doctor who required someone to come in this frequently for a refill for a chronic condition like this. The pharmacy also isn't allowed to extend prescriptions from this doctor which makes medication compliance more difficult. I work during the same hours that the office is open, so it isn't exactly easy to make these appointments sometimes. It is the simplest thing to just extend the refills for longer, but no such luck. I'll most likely inquire if he will refer me to an endocrinologist he states could write such an extended refill. Though this seems like a ridiculous thing for an endocrinologist to spend their time on, and well within the scope of a family doctor.

Waited over an hour for Dr. Oshodi with an appointment for my mother. Awful bedside matter. He spent 2 minutes in the room. He doesn’t listen. Has no care for patients. Accomplished nothing, only wasted our time. Avoid this doctor.

I've visited this clinic a handful of times and have been very understanding and patient everytime because the front desk staff were nice. However my last visit was just a great disappointment. I has an appointment with a female physician that I requested when I booked. Got there and half an hour after my appointment, i was told the female physician can't see me and asked if im ok with dr. Oshodi instead. Having already waited 30 mins, i said ok. Well, another 45 mins later, Dr. Oshodi finally came in. (I've seen him multiple times and I have been very patient and understanding regardless of how cold he seemed to be.) Anyway, I was there for mental health assessment. And he was the most unsympathetic person I have ever met! I was crying and he was so pushy. He cared more about typing on his computer than connecting. The only thing that would make me go back to this clinic is the paediatrician that was good to my kids. Other than that, i'm staying away.

I was not paid to write this nor do I receive benefit from it, but I am unhappy to see many people disparaging my Doctor and my Nurses and the Staff of Manning Medical Clinic, so I want to set the record straight after the Karens have had their fun here.

I have been coming to this clinic for 6+ years, during that time I was in the worst health of my life. Dr. Embaya, Alex, Jordan, & many others who have come and gone from that time have been the reason I am slowly getting back on my feet. They never gave up on me, even when I wanted to give up on myself.

(I'm sorry to read that so many people are having problems there, but in regards to the phones not working & being hung up on, that's a technical problem they are aware of & trying to fix.)

DONT GO HERE ABSOLUTE GARBAGE. Showed up at 9 on the dot told me I can come back at 11: 10 to see if a doctor will see my daughter. Very rude and incompetent.

Greeted with a scowl and question about appointment. Nobody inside but me. I said “ no I’m here for walk in”. “ No walk ins available” is the answer I get, in a very rude attitude.

They never pick up there phones! Been trying to book for months by phone and through their website. And now when I called, the answering machine says theyre closed, when theyre supposed to be open. This place needs new management and better, more caring receptionists. Worst clinic ever. Too bad I cant find another family doctor accepting patients.

Calling this a walk in is a lie.

Dr Embaya Stopped taking Fax/Email/Phone refill requests (in addition to providing only 90 days of pills at a time for a medication that can be prescribed by a pharmacist) because he was quote "Getting too many" So now everyone must waste his time and their own time to come in and get refills.

Stay away at all costs only use as a last resort.

Wouldnt even give this place 1 star if i had the option. Terrible service. The wait is ridiculous even with an appointment. Call numerous times just to get through once. Finally get through, then hungup on. 2 month wait to see my sons pediatrician. Ridiculous. We have recently parted ways. DO NOT GO HERE!

Calling to book an appointment is impossible when they close the phone lines during their work hours and their voicemails are never looked at.

They canceled my appointment 1 hour beforehand because I hadn't seen my doctor in a few years. Doesn't seem like a very good reason to cancel an appointment. Very unprofessional and the staff at the front are very rude.

I love this clinic! I’ve been coming here for years. Dr Alfaki is the best and Alex is amazing! Highly recommend

I can see why they have the bad reviews. Wow. Receptionist is icy. Zero care for patient well being. Wouldn’t go back even if I could get an appointment. I agree with the others here - they seem to hate everyone and everything.

Their doctor that can't even prescribe zopiclone. Never experienced that before. The reception is rude, dismissive, and next to positive she rolled her eyes at me. You don't like your job get a new one.

Not professional enough for my baby. It is impossible to book an appointment with his doctor (months of waiting). The receptionist is just pure careless.

Some sad fellows as receptionists. I wish I know the name of the one that attended to me. She told me to have a nice day after a very unpleasant and rude response from her. The one with the dark hair. Get some joy guys.

Confused by a lot of the reviews. I've been coming here for years and I love my doctor and the receptionists. They try their best with a usually busy clinic, I have never experienced any rudeness or bad attitude from them. I actually would recommend this clinic to anyone who asked

They are slow the doctors didn’t listen to me I’m disabled but Referred me to a specialist in Fort Saskatchewan and Spruce Grove when I don’t drive and a walk with Mobility device

Such saddd girls at the recpetion. I called them to ask for there names so i can make a complaint to alberta health services and they slammed the phone down and blocked every phone number coming in. All she said was " manning drive medical" than i hear a click. If you girls want to keep your job keep your respect towards your patients like you would do to yours, customer service goes along away expecially the ones who are sick. So disgusted in this clinic. Highly recommend to go somewhere else. If i can rate it a 0 i would

I've come here before, came for prescription for my eczema and the doctor said he doesn't believe I have eczema, said I have psoriasis and I've had eczema since I was a baby. Second time I come here I gave another chance, came in for my cream and to ask about my stomach pain that's been bothering me for a couple months now and the doctor completely ignored me and said "if it's an emergency, go to emergency and if it's bothering you book an appointment at the front desk, and I said that is why I'm here, my stomach pain and bleeding is the main concern, he just repeated himself again and said take care. He was so rude and uncomfortable to deal with. I will never come back, this place needs to be investigated for how the doctors treat their patients.

Also note that I waited 30 minutes just to deal with someone that didn't care about my health

Such poor and horrible reception, the ladies in the front gosiping about how they didnt like to work late, but had to wait for MY FAMILY to come in, pulled her little snarky attitude once we told her we did not have 1 set of ids. Turned my whole family away over 1 set of ids when we are already on file. Never in my life would i go back to " manning drive" barbie mansion lol.

I got my COVID vaccine from here upon a recommendation. The Asian lady (manager) took 20 minutes to enter my information in the computer. When time to get the needle, she stabbed me with the needle which almost paralyzed my arm with pain for 2 days and didn't give me any bandaid either. Later I had to wait another 20 minutes to get my paperwork as well. Also to mention I was the only patient there. Later after I left, I was called again to come back to sign some paperwork. Shouldn't have gone back and let her deal with her mistake herself. Overall horrible experience and I suggest her to think about her career choice and start being a little more gentle and time efficient with patients.

WORST reception staff ever. Worst customer service, going into a medical clinic the front staff are supposed to make you feel welcome this clinic is the complete opposite they are always gossiping loud and all around very unprofessional. Would not recommend to anyone.

This place was quite decent at first, until my family and i came ten minutes late due to a train.the front desk lady was yelling at us for no reason.i was confused and i started to get very anxious.i just wanted to know when i could reschedule and was asking if i can come another day to reschedule because i have work.and to all my working single mothers, we can just miss any day at work like its nothing.after i came home from work, i got a message saying that i cant come there anymore.i was scared and worried if i couldnt find another doctor, i need one fast.all my daughters have horrible health issues.this place is horrible.

They are not accepting walk in's at the moment. I should have assumed that out when I called to ask if they where. There phone number wasn't working when I called them. There was no voice mail, just a beep.

They advertise as a walk in clinic but there's a sign on there door saying appointments only. This should be mentioned on there website.

The doctors are great. The problem with the receptionist, I have read many reviews and I can see this place going down because of who handles the front desk. They are very aggressive and pick up a fight with you and willing to say that you said that and actually you did not! I am not sure why they pick such personality to deal with patient where being understanding and pationate is priority

Receptionists are not friendly and helpful. They are not punctual. Even with appointment, you need to wait almost one hour to see the doctor.

I have a very good doctor and he really knows my needs, and the staff are always extremely friendly, that being said, I always book an appointment and end up waiting usually an additional half hour to 45 minutes past my appointment time. Seems very unprofessional and very poor time management on their part.

Front desk staffs are just rude and unprofessional. The doctos are not doctors to only tell people "ye just antibiotic 3 times a day" without knowing what's going. Joke

Lovely doctors but very very unpleasant receptionist who think too highly of themselves and always unwilling to help. They say your first impression about a place is the entry and these bunch are a terrible outlook for the clinic.

Wow my boyfriend went in for back pain and he had an appointment which he waited 30 minutes after his appointment to be seen and the doctor was rude and didn't listen and told him he should of gone to emergency! Having back pain is not an emergency especially during a pandemic. Super disappointed

Beyond pleased with the service at this clinic. I took my son to another clinic for his injured hand and was sent for xrays. After a week of being told they arent in yet and we will call you once they are in I gave up and called Manning Medical Clinic. The girls at the front, Alex and Sonia, listened to the situation and said they would look into it and call me back. I was beyond surprised when Dr Taghedi called me himself and said he reviewed the results on Netcare and explained there was 2 fractures in his hand. He broke it down so I knew exactly what was wrong and what to do next. Off to the hand clinic at the UofA on his recommendation the same day and so far 3 weeks after talking to Dr Taghedi things have healed nicely. As a mother I appreciate the speedy service and the fact I didnt have to drag the kids in to be told to go to the UofA. Will be recommending Dr Taghedi and the Manning Medical Clinic to my friends. Thank you for everything.

I had appointment at 10am and waited over 50min after checked in at 10am and the front lady didn't even remember I checked in. They cannot say sorry after making mistake?

Absolutely no urgency, no care from the doctors! Passive aggressive staff. I no longer go here because I always waited 30min minimum. Problem is, I have had chronic back pain for 10+ years and can’t wait that long physically.
Dr. Oshodi laughed when I asked for more testing or mri.says it all. Don’t go to Manning Clinic unless you want to be treated like a clown

Usually, I do not write anything negative, however, this medical clinic is not to a professional standard. I would not advise to go here.

I booked an appointment and had to reschedule, due to a conflict in my schedule. The receptionist did not book it on the changed date that was required.

Their is a receptionist with long brown hair pointy nose who was rude and passive aggressive and threw my Alberta Health card at me and on to the counter. She was also boasting about a gift from a patient she received to her peers. Which I found unnecessary to do in front of staff and customers.

I waited for an additional 20min before I saw someone, they did not even tell me they needed to take my blood pressure. And I would have dressed more readily available for that.

Then I waited for an additional 10mins in a room before I saw the doctor. I told him what I wanted done and he seemed to not care at all. Then he printed a white piece of paper with another clinic to deter me. Therefore, he made me go to another clinic for my check up. No one explained that, that would of happened.

They seem to only want to deal with clients of a particular caliber.

Every single time I book an appointment I wait a minimum of an hour to see the doctor. The clinic has ZERO respect for people’s time.

Oh my goodness, I am in awe of the few reviews I read. I had lived in the Manning Dr.area for many years. I started at this doctors office and appreciate the staff and treatment I receive there greatly.
They are prompt and courteous. I cannot understand the negative statements that are written as reviews.
Thank you to the staff and pharmacy there you are all really great.

Got a snarky call from the front desk saying my blood work results had come back. Reception said Dr. Embaya could go through the results since my usual Doctor was out of town (Dr Essul.who is hardly ever around).
Made an appointment for 3: 45pm after I was done work to get the results and a prescription refilled. Sat around in the waiting room until 5pm. And then until 5: 45pm in the doctors room. Dr Embaya finally came in, asked what the prescription was for, printed it off quickly and tried to exit the room.
I called after him regarding my blood test results to which he replied “you can only have 1 concern per appointment”. He then scrolled through the results on his computer, said to me “you’re healthy” And then left the room after a total of spending 5 minutes in the room.this clinic is a waste of your time!

“open til 9pm on thursday’s” my keister.i got here at 8: 30pm and to my surprise they were closed.

There was 2 other people in place to see doctor and I was next still took over hour to been seen. I took my shoes off at door like signs say then had people with wet boots making floor wet perfect for my socked feet. The staff didn't even care.

Dr. Essul is one of the best doctors I've ever come across. Never in a rush to leave and very informative

The dr decided to stop taking patients 2/40 minutes before the clinic closes, after I drove 40 minutes to get there!

I had a terrible experience at the clinic. The waiting time is insane it's over an hour in the waiting area and half an hour in the room. The ladies in the front desk were very rude and unprofessional, one of them didn't know how to take my blood pressure I don't recommend it at all

Can’t believe my kids appointment to see the pediatrician has been cancelled 4times already.
1st appointment was in February: they called me 2days before to cancel and reschedule
Rescheduled for March: cancelled again
Rescheduled for May 18: clinic cancelled the appointment on May 17
Rescheduled for July: Clinic cancelled again! Left a voicemail for me to reschedule!

When they first opened, had nothings but good things to say. Now not so much. Make an appointment, still have to wait a hour or so. Better hope there is enough chairs. Also, doctors really seem reluctant to help or even pay attention to what your saying.

I find this clinic to be very low grade in regard to professionalism. I have been coming here for a number of years, did the meet and greet with a doctor when they first opened but due to the amount of overturning staff I never have a consistent doctor. When I call in and the receptionist gathers my information I am assuming they are booking me with "my family doctor". I do not go to the clinic enough to honestly even remember who my doctor is. But, today I was belittled on the phone because I see so many different doctors? OK, sorry.should the person booking me in not be bringing this up before scheduling the appointment? Regardless of booking an appointment ahead of time, you will still need to sit and wait for hours on end past your booked time. The girls who work the front desk are extremely short tempered and quick to turn any conversation into a condescending one. After years of enduring this treatment I have finally decided that enough is enough and will start the search all over to find a better clinic. Honestly, unless you like sitting around and being treated poorly I really suggest just trying another clinic.

The slowest most disorganized clinic ever. They always are phoning to change appt times. Then when you go you wait hours to see anybody. What is the point of even making appt's. Cant wait for my grandparents to change doctors.

Useless place, the people at the desk forget your name or that you are there and let other people in ahead. Had to talk to them and after that they woke up. The comment from reception it happens. I am sure it does.

Lately the front staff has been so rude, this morning I had an issue for booking for my father. Finally speaking with the supervisor Gina, she calmed me down, was so kind and eager to help me and explained nicely. She has actually helped me out several times and I appreciate her! Moving forward when I call in I will be asking for her directly and I suggest the same for others.

The staff are rude, twice now they have forgotten that I was in the room. And when the doctor did come in he rushed me out the door.

Wife made an appointment and had to wait 2 hours. Receptionist also assured us it would be a 30 minute wait. Awful front end staff. Awful scheduling. Doctors need to be way more aware.

I've had very mixed experiences with Manning Medical Clinic. I visit and call most often for my wife.in those interactions, the reception is always friendly and professional. I've been in dozens of times in the last two year and found that service very consistent.

The poor experiences I've had have all been related to the doctors. If my wife isn't able to visit her usual doctor we occasionally see someone else, the male doctors rarely look at her when speaking, almost always directing answers to me even though I am not the patient.

Lastly, I've used this clinic for my own healthcare needs and have found the clinic poorly equipped even with a built-in pharmacy. Twice they have sent me away to go to an ER for non-emergent issues. Going to the ER in Edmonton is at least a 5-hour experience. So what could have been a 5-minute appointment turns into an all-day campout in an Emergency Room.

I have had a few reasonable experiences here, but my most recent one has lead me to the conclusion that I will never return for myself or my family and will strongly discourage others from accessing their services. I went in for a routine procedure and was treated horribly and humiliated by the physician. The nurse tried to be kind and mitigate his horrific behaviour, but the damage was done. 0/10. Do not recommend.

My mom is a patient at the clinic, the staff are friendly and courteous. At the clinic, Gina always seems to be able to assist my mom and make her feel comfortable when she comes in for her appiontments. The clinic is always clean and professional. My mom is very happy to have found such an amazing Doctor who cares for her and is always able to provide her with medical recommendations.
I would recommend this practice.

Been here quiet a few times the last couple times we went recently I was not happy with the dr. Mohammed, I felt very uncomfortable with him. Not letting me tell him my concerns. He just kept assuming what I'm feeling, he insisted on getting a swab test down there because he thinks it could be yeast infection but told him I would rather go to my family doc for that, ended up getting blood test came back with "very high white blood count" then insisted on doing a swab test again. Saw my family doc 2 days later and she said my white blood count was only a tad high that I didnt need a swab text. It could probably just from a cough or cold. Then today my son had to walk in but the receptionists said the doctor left at 420pm when the clinic is supposed to be open until 6pm. What is the point of having a clinic hrs when they dont even follow it.
