So I wanted to share my recent experience at your Marks store Calgary Macleod.
Today I visited your store to shop for some winter essentials. However, I couldn't help but notice that the security seemed a bit unfriendly when I arrived and he kept staring at mep. It made me feel a little uncomfortable and gave me the impression that they were suspicious of me, as if I were about to steal something.
Once inside the store, I browsed through the clothes and other items. Unfortunately, throughout my time there, I couldn't shake off the feeling of being constantly watched and judged by the security. It's really a shame because shopping should be a pleasant experience without any discomfort or feeling like someone is scrutinizing you from head to toe.
In the end, despite wanting to shop for more clothes, I decided to just purchase winter pants and leave! It's disheartening to have such an experience when all I wanted was to enjoy my shopping trip.
I hope you take this feedback into consideration as it can greatly impact customer satisfaction. We all want a friendly and welcoming environment where customers feel comfortable and valued! Thanks!
Came here with hubby to buy some items and asked to use washroom and on the door it said to ask staff for a key One staff they didn’t have one and another Said to go outside and go to the A&W Lazy staff not wanting to clean bathrooms then should remove them maybe she was just dumb and couldn’t read the sign on the bathroom door or just lazy. Don’t shop here as the people here are very rude
My friend and I had a great experience at this Mark's location, thanks in part to the amazing service we got! All the sales associates were helpful and friendly especially the young man at the till, I believe his name was Sadra, was very kind and helpful during the checkout of our purchase!
I understand the staff is tired after the holiday season but there are still standards to customer service. Leave your bad attitude at home. Disorganized and unprofessional.
I was in store today and there was one woman that was absolutely vile! She was bigger with blond hair and black and blue glasses. I swear, every time I heard her open her mouth she was saying something rude! To customers and other staff!
Alisha at the cash register is an absolute joy! Keep on being you girl, it makes the Christmas shopping go by way better! (So sorry if I spelt your name wrong!)
Tried buying a pair of mens cargo pants for work and needed help to find my size. I asked an employee to help me and it and she refused because they were mens pants and I’m a woman. That should not matter when buying a pair of pants. She had a thick accent and I’d strongly recommend avoiding asking her help.
Tried to go buy work and winter boots today. Now I'm scratching my eyes out because I wasn't expecting there to be dogs in the store. Why would you need a dog to watch you try on footwear!?
Very nice experience- they were kind enough to allow me placing my behind the counter while I shopped. I was lucky in going during a sale, and purchased two pairs of 501s at a good price.
Horrible customer service trying to return a defective item. Sarah had no interest in providing helpful customer service. Unwilling to check stock for an available exchange. No clear understanding of the return policy, or ability to explain the issue clearly. Unwilling to provide the store number, or reach out to a manager for me.
Takes way too long to ring people through. Even when the store is slow, there a huge lineup. We stood in line for almost half an hour with only 4 people infront of us.
Sold me a Hard Hat with scratches on it (others had faults with the belts inside so had no option) and at the time of sale the Sales Lady told me that those were just sticker marks. When I found out later that they were not, I immediately went back to return them but they wouldn’t take it back. Before going back I called them and they told me to come and I drove half an hour to return it only to hear “It is clearly not a sticker mark. You should have thought about it when you bought it! ”.
When I said that they were the ones who told me that those were sticker marks and I hadn’t worn it at all, they asked me to leave the store. I understand that I should have checked more when I bought it but why would they keep faulty items on the shelf knowing that these items are not returnable? Most of the hard hats had some sort of faults in them.
I didn’t just buy the hard hat but a lot other work gears. I am going to return all the returnable items now and buy them from somewhere else. This is clearly not the kind of service I was expecting from a brand like Mark’s.
Every time I’ve been there I’ve had a horrible experience with this same curly haired old chick that works there. Horrible attitude. Took everything in me not to give back the same energy she gave me. I went all way to the one on 130th where I was treated like a human. Will definitely not be going back to this place until that grumpy old hag is gone.
A member of your staff Cody was unwilling to help me check to see if you had any 34 36 pants in stock, and kept insisting I had to choose a specific style. I said any style. I checked 5 or 6 styles. No size on the shelf. Asked for help, got resistance. Ended up walking out due to his rudeness. There are other workwear places to buy from.
Really awesome marks. Seriously went boxing day was able to replace all my lost gear from West jet. And the deals were perfect timing. Staff are friendly and helpful. Also wheelchair accessible. Good job staff.
Fast customer service when it comes to safety workbooks, (sales rep notice me with my phone and paper out) Great prices, good selections, prime location, and plenty of Parkng even during the Holiday season. Canadian tire points on promotion bonus days are accepted aswell.
It's got what you need, but it is sadly overpriced. There is very little in the way of competitors, so I guess they can get away with it. Personally, I think I'm going to Amazon my way forward from hereon
Terrible size selection. I literally just wanted to spend some money, and they had zero inventory in any shoe that's not a workboot larger than a size 13, and no dress pants or khakis long enough. For a company of this size, they should be embarrassed.
Clean store, very good selection. Only knocking one star off due to limited help around the store. Many Marks have staff come to you and make sure your doing fine. This Marks I couldn’t even find someone to help, never mind getting one coming to me. Had to go to the cashier for assistance.
I called in on 6-May-20 asking if I can place a PPE order for curbside pickup within 1-1.5 hours as I needed the items urgently. Margaret from the store did a fantastic job physically tracking down every item over the phone and setting it aside to help expedite my pickup. So I went ahead and placed the order online for curbside pickup. 30 mins before closing I was outside the store to pickup the items, called and spoke to a guy claiming to be a manager (Justin) to pickup the items. He said he can’t deliver the items because he didnt have order confirmation, which didn’t make sense as I had the email. I offered to pay with credit card on the spot for his peace of mind, explained I needed the items right away and they’re physically in stock and set aside. Nop, that won’t work. Nothing will work. I waited outside for another 30 mins waiting for them to get their ducks in a row with no response from so-called manager. Finally I took my $200 transaction to Home Depot next door. The fantastic customer service from the sales person was negated by a poor store manager whose behavior is certainly not conductive of a manager. That’s how you lose business.
Staff was very helpful and friendly. A staff member named Justin took the time to help me find the jacket that I was looking for in the Carhart dept and the manager was polite and courteous handling an exchange for me.
I have enjoyed shopping at marks work warehouse over the years.and this location ive been to a hand full of times over the years.i did buy a pair of boots that were too small so i took them back and got a size too big and back again for a size just right but then i realized that its spring and these boots had insulation in them so not too warm.at the end of the day i got a gift card because i had thrown away the original receipt.although i did receive a gift card the held a balance less then what i paid for the boots originally as i couldn't prove the price it was 20 dollars less i got back.the bonus is that i received 10 dollars off on every 50 dollar purchase i made for signing up for their email list.and the are other promotions for 10% off as well as union member deductions, over all i appreciate the great effort made to keep us Canadians protected and valued when it come to patronizing our Canadian businesses, local or national!
Great Job Mark's Work Warehouse and to the manages of this store for providing great insight and exceptional service to making the customer feel the true value of consumerism.
I asked two employees what I was looking for. Told me they only had ones with writing or pictures. I looked for the article and bought and left. Staff should learn there merchandise.
Came in today and felt like all the staff were carefully watching me like I was going to steal something. The staff seemed like they were gossiping about me, and this isn’t the first time I’ve been here and this has happened. Shopping here is not enjoyable for me anymore and I’m very disappointed to see that just walking into the store makes the staff think your some kind of shoplifter
They have really good deals at times they always keep me posted. They sell nice casual clothes and shoes and my favorite Levi's Jean's nice and they have all the work gear I need for outdoor work.
Not the best experience! I get vouchers from work to purchase clothing. When I took my items to the checkout, the staff were completely phased, and one was asking the other about what they should do. I was on a break from work, and was hoping that I wouldn’t take my entire break to pay for my items. Finally after a lot of whispering and being moved from one staff member to another, I finally paid for my shopping. Obviously the training must be poor or non existent. I’ll be purchasing more items with my vouchers. Really wish I didn’t have to use them at Marks Work Warehouse. It’s just such a palaver!
Bought one of those mosquito repellant jackets for my sister who lives in northern Quebec. She says it works great. No bites. So if it works for her then it should be great for the puny bugs we have here in Calgary
It was an awesome experience today I was greeted immediately by warm friendly person and then when I looked for shoes I asked where the discount or the ones that were on sale where found a pair and I'm happy
They were having an awesome sale. 30% off store wide. It seems like there are always sales going on. Never pay full price here or you made a mistake. I was looking up at the carhartts and one of the associates was of great help in finding me the specialty pair I was looking for.
We went in looking for a pair of shoes that had been a targeted ad. When we got to the shoe area of the store we had a very attentive sales associate named Damion that helped us out. He couldn't find the shoes that we were looking for in his store, but found them at another and took the time to call the other store to put them on hold for us. It's not often that I am really impressed with someone in retail, but Damion went above and beyond.
Everytime I come in the staff here are super helpful and friendly! This store has a much bigger selection than others as well! Only location I go to anymore
