I guess I'd just like to remind the supervisor/manager with red-frame glasses, that being rude to customers, whether it's the tone of your voice, your body language, or your words, does not set a good example for your younger employees. I do not make a practice of returning items that have been worn UNLESS they are faulty and do not stand up. I was made to feel humiliated for asking for my money back on slippers that were not wearable after less than a month. Perhaps your approach could have been to ask more questions in order to let the company know there is a problem with the product. Rest assured, after the way you made me feel, I will not be back to your store. I would not be allowed to treat you like that in my line of work. Nor do I want to be treated like that by you. If you were going through something in your personal life that caused you to act like that, I'm sorry for you but please realize there is a person on the other side of your till!
Really enjoyed the help I got. Busy time with a great sale and I have an awkward size I guess as they found what I needed in the back. Big savings and great help from staff. Great day.
Bought a WindRiber boots with IceFX, for my budget they are not cheap. I had good experience with Mark's before so I trusted them, what a mistake. Bought the boots walk in it for 6 kms, I slipped 3-4 times. Try to return them within the time frame, but their policy is if you used your boots/shoes you can't return it. What a concept that contradicts itself for a non-slip winter boots. How would a person would know if a pair of boots you bought would be any good if you don't use it? Just based on trust? Not anymore. False advertising!
Had a bad experience today whit the lady at the counter, I ask her very politely to check if they have in stock a pair of Hyper Dri 3 Hiking Boots, but she don't even say hello she just said. No, I can not help you ¡ She doesn't even look me in the eyes or offer me an alternative, I step out and bought it in another place.
Computers went down during my visit. They didn’t say anything to the people waiting in line to check out. Everyone was just standing around staring at their computers. Huge waste of time.
Went in looking to purchase boots. Lots of staff around, no one offered to help which is actually fine, I prefer to ask. I chose a $200 pair of boots and went to the cashier, which had one person working and one person paying. After about 5 minutes of waiting I put the boots back and went two doors down to the Shoe Company, where I bought a discounted pair of Columbia boots I liked just as much for considerably less. When people want to pay and leave the store, don't delay this process!
I really like this store! I bought winter boots from here and they’re great quality; they were very needed and helpful for the cold -30 winter here in Calgary. The only thing that prevents me from giving Mark’s a 5 star rating is their pricing. They do have great quality clothing, outerwear, shoe attire, and more; however, they are extremely expensive and it’s not affordable for the average person to consistently shop at.
I recently returned a pair of work shoes that did not agree with my feet after working in a warehouse. I had my receipt and explained the situation to the staff. They were very reluctant to do the return and begrudgingly allowed me to get a different pair of work boots, which made me feel embarrassed and like I was doing something wrong. The lady at the desk acted annoyed, rude, and indifferent. They made it seem like they had to go out of their way to accept the return and this is not how customer service should be, its not like their paychecks were being affected.
Marks and Sports Check are companies within Canadian Tire Group. They do not price match. Found the shoes I was looking for at Marks, 20$ more than Sports Check. Asked if price match, no way. Too bad because I would have bought 2 pairs. Their loss.
Good selections, Covid has taken a toll on stock but still a great store that I truly have trouble leaving without purchasing something workers related. Love it, and part of the triangle family so don’t forget your rewards!
Great customer service, not pushy and they take the time to help you. They found a shoe that wasn't in stock and went out of their way to call the stop and hold it for us without us asking. Great service!
70 percent closeout signs on the window, yeah only on some clearance rack items. Not good. Staff contradicted each other on what was or wasn't on sale. Prices still too high. Bad experience.
Really nice staff, friendly and helpful. Prices are good. My only wish is for the dressing rooms to be more accessible, why is no one around to unlock them when I want to try something on? Mostly it’s just easier to buy, try at home and then return. Just not quite right.
This has been my go-to Mark's for awhile for its convenient location. However, I give it three stars because I have had a recent bad experience with them. I bought winter boots on sale the other day and I asked the teller (her name was Alison from the receipt) if I would get a 10% discount as I was a member of CLAC (CLAC members get 10% off Mark's). I did not have my CLAC card at the time but the teller assured me that I can come back, show my receipt and get the discount. Sure enough, I come back two days later and a different lady told me that I was not eligible for the discount because the item was on sale. Great! </3 Alison please take note for next time!
Went in for new boots. The sales lady knew her stuff and pointed me to exactly what I wanted, hikers that came in a wide sizes. Purchased the first pair I tried on.
