Went here to purchase some shoes on March 13,2023, the shoes were on display 3 different areas and 2 different prices. I asked one of the store representatives and he looked at them and told me that the more expensive price was the actual price and ripped off the cheaper tag. I asked him if they would honour the cheaper prices as advertised and he said no. I left the store to check out other stores. Later that evening I had found the same shoes for a cheaper price at SoftMoc and checked that Marks does price match according to their website. The following day (March 14,2023 around 10: 30-45) I returned and tried on the shoes, the rep who helped with getting me sizes was super polite, friendly and helpful. Although one of the shoes she gave me was broken, luckily they had another pair. I went to the front to purchase the shoes and there was no one there, shortly after the cashier (according to the receipt her name was Katherine) appeared and we exchanged pleasantries and I asked her if Marks price matches. She said yes, but it has to be the same shoe and be available in stores. I mentioned to her that according to their website it is the exact same shoe and available in stores across the city, but I chose to come here because it’s closer and I’d rather buy them here. She replied she’ll need to talk to the Manager/Supervisor (which happened to be the rep that helped me earlier). She came over and Katherine asked and the Supervisor abruptly said “we don’t price match” and I informed her that their website says they do, and she said show me; in a doubtful tone, so I pulled up their website and showed her, she skimmed over it and signed and said “I guess we do” and walked around to the register. Katherine started arguing saying that “the shoe needs to be exactly the same, same size, and the other store needs to have the shoe in store available” I told her according to the other stores’ website it is available, and they both stood there blankly looking at me. I told her she can look at their website and put the phone down on the counter on their webpage with the shoes and pushed the phone over to Katherine. She again stood their blankly looking at the Supervisor, and the Supervisor asked her to take a look, and she again just stood there and shrugged. Eventually after an agonizing minute of awkwardness, the Supervisor eventually said “match the price” and Katherine in a argumentative tone said “really” and the Supervisor said “yes” and walked away; not even saying thanks, or bye. Katherine let out a huge sigh and the rest of the transaction she refused to speak a single word to me. I asked her if the security tags were removed and she sarcastically opened the box and shoved it towards me and said “mhmm. ” I thanked her and said bye, and I got no response.
Im not sure exactly why Katherine was so upset over a price match. Katherine, you don’t own Marks and even if you did, the policy is the policy, you can’t really argue it…just do your job and move along. It’s not coming out of your salary. To the supervisor, you really should know your policies and enforce them. You shouldn’t have employees argue in front of customers. Next time – well for me there won’t be a next time, I’ll just take my business elsewhere…I guess basic customer service eludes Katherine

Went in for a return and an exchange. Dealt with three amazing people, young man with funky hair and two beautiful ladies. They were extremely courteous, polite, nice and helped me in a timely manner. I wish all locations can have such wonderful employees and the same type of service. These three individuals working there deserve a raise and a pat on the back. Thank you guys.

Bought some winter work boots that ended up leaking after 6 weeks. Took them back and exchanged for different pair. No hassles!

It was extremely bad experience at marks today evening. I needed help with women scrubs so the manager came over replying rudely and bluntly. She was shaking a bit, I wonder if she was high.

Wish they were still a workwear store that wasn't just trying to push their generic products. Bring back a better Carhartt selection!

Like there clothing staff can’t be found probably short staffed when you find one they are accommodating
