We went here for my husband birthday dinner. The buffet was scrumptious and very well priced! The owner is so humble. He checked on us to get a feed back. We enjoyed our evening with excellent food.

Went on Saturday 13 Jan 2024, for dinner buffet. Paid 110$ for 2 adults and 2 kids. At the reception the girl Asked me to pay the bill in advance, It was kind of strange experience. I paid and when I went to see the food in the buffet. It was simply disappointing. So the price I paid for a buffet, any big or small restaurant in Edmonton will serve better food with more variety. Absolutely no variety.one more important thing I noticed, first East Indian buffet with no tandoor chicken in the buffet menu.other than fish pakoda no snacks. No one bauther serving me water. One of my worst experience i ever had with buffet. Never again

Worst service ever! Customer service was very bad, servers were very disappointed.
We were not treated properly at all, we had to ask for every single thing. Our appetizer came but dipping came after we finished our appetizer.
Overall worst experience!

The food was amazing and the service was very good too. Tanvika provided a great service and our experience with her was good.

Food was pretty much blended. No real kick of street food or authentic indian taste. Buffet is kind of NOT worth at all. Service was slow as well. They were slow to refill buffet items and cutlery was missing all the time.
Not recommended.

Tanvika was our server for Eid, she was great and answered all of our many questions regarding the menu, as we’ve never been. She was always near by and she got us everything we needed! Food was also great and fresh as well. We ordered the chili chicken with ginger rice, manchurian fish with the spicy garlic noodles along with some vegetable samosas. Overall 10/10!

Really need to update their MENU. Food is good but prices had huge difference to in person to Online order. Ordered it according to their website but had to pay what their prices were at store. Really disappointed for this.

We orderd noodle and it was Damn spicy. Chicken manchurian is like chilli chicken. Wastage of $30. Never approach this resturant.

It has the best Indo Chinese, North Indian food with excellent affordable prices, love the ambience and service too.
The only thing they need to change is to stop using plastic and foam take away boxes. They should be using eco friendly and bio degradable boxes.

Masala wok is one great place for delicious food. Every time we go to eat we really enjoy the food and the cozy environment. I must say the credit goes to the chef who makes great entrees. One of the best appetizer he makes is the dry chilli paneer. We really appreciate the food and the great service. Masala wok will always be in favourite dining place. Thank you.

First visit and no doubt one of many more to come! The pav bhaji sizzler is the best I've had after a long time and is a must if you visit.

Today I try baby corn it was so crispy and yummy must try, butter chk and chili chk are also so good. 5 star for food and service

The food was really really good and the staff Manpreet and Kamal were very patient with my little one and did excellent job. Kudos to the chef as well for the delicious food. I always love to go there especially for Indo Chinese food.

Among the staff Aman and Manpreet were outstanding. From the very beginning till the end Aman guilds us and was friendly too.

I’m visiting Edmonton from Ontario and I had the chance to visit Masala Wok on the 34th and I must say, I was pleasantly surprised with such authentic taste. The delicious Crispy Baby Corn captured us with the real Taste of India! The spices they used were perfect! My family enjoyed Chicken Lollipop and Hakka Noodles to their hearts content. We are way beyond our limits and will return! 10/10 recommended

Terrible mushroom starter, took way more time to deliver, chilly chicken terrible, finally in the name of kulfi some smashed sweets.
Overall terrible, avoid.

Indo-Chinese food is really amazing.
We had hot and sour soup, veg manchurian and chilli paneer.overall the tase of food reminded us the street food back in India.

Heard alot of hype about this place, tried it and was not as good as I was expecting. Food was tasteless and unflavoured. Container they gave was broken. My order was Crispy baby corn,
Hakka noodles and Manchurian. Not recommended.

Masala wok needs to review their customer service and how their workers communicate with customers. Their level of how they prepare food and serve it has incredibly gone down. Take out orders are a joke and we are supposed to take the food back with no compensation. They arrogantly show their pride and remain stubborn on mishaps they create without any remorse.
Their front desk workers have no communication skills and don't allow people to finish speaking.
There is no management on sight, hence no monitoring.

We just happened to be in that area when my husband and I decided to try out Masala wok. Although the ambience wasn't that great, the Chinese we ordered was good! We ordered Hakka noodles and schezwan chicken. We are definitely going back!

Food is only having moderate taste. Not exceptional. Never felt the wow feels in taste. Uneven patterns in shape and hastily baked chicken. There is not even mild fragrance and flavour of spices. Tandoori chicken is not dry. Massive pieces to makes chefs job easy and the customers satisfaction to a low. Just dripping liquids from inside. Big pieces which are half cooked. Service needs to be improved. Not fair addressing and treatment. Most of the bearers lacks the basic lessons of customer service and hospitality. Long waiting time, the bearer forgot the order taken. Then came apologies with free offers. The service personals lacks proper training and quality services. Lighting and ambience needs to be improved. Okay and moderate food taste.

It was a very bad experience for dinner last night.
Food was absolutely tasteless. Manchow soup was salty. Coriander soup was so sour that it was disgusting.
King paw chicken had no taste, I can taste only salt.
Szhwan fried rice was so hot that it burnt my tongue. Loads of siracha sauce. Babycorn was just okay.
Service was not at all up to mark. Half of the food came and after that they forgot that some more food has to come.
I had to remind to the waitress that we are missing some food. Absolutely waste of money and time.

We ordered vegetarian samosa, they were dripping out oil. And also the pastry was uncooked from inside. Very bad don’t recommend trying samosas.

The paneer kathi roll filling was good but the outer wrap wasn’t properly cooked.
Paneer pasanda wasn’t the original pasanda curry it was more like shahi paneer. Taste was decent but it wasnt paneer pasanada at all. Naan was okay too.

Very good welcoming and service by Aman prit. She is so nice, because her advice for choosing food is awesome.

Food is awesome! Definitely should try out the veg sizzler. Best Manchurian and noodles. Reccomend and will come back here again:)

I wish I could have option for zero stars we order 3 things Hakka noodles, spring rolls and momos places order at 5: 12 pm and it was told to us due to momos it will take longer to cook around 30 minutes so we waited there, we didn’t know that its gonna take more than 1 hour, the server told us due to skip order’s its taking longer than usual, we waited there till 6: 20 pm, the manger or owner who ever is in-charge they should put more staff, i will not blame this situation on staff it should be owner responsibility that there is enough staff available in the busy hours if you cant make it happen please close the store cause putting less staff is gonna effect the quality of the food and spending money on low quality food is not worth it as a customer.

Visited masala wok today chilli baby corn is soo tasty as well Shahi paneer and palak paneer is so delicious I had ever had. Ended up with yummy falooda so yummy should try at my favorites restaurant in edmonton.

Worst place ever. Zero customer service and Zero respect for customer. On Aug 13, I ordered small tray (good for 6-8people) of chili chicken and specially mentioned to make it without onion and green onion. They took the order and assured me it will be done as per request. I went to pickup and confirmed with the staff again on No Onions and the staff said it is made as requested.

When I reached home and found Onions so I called Masala Wok and informed them of their mistake, The staff that answered the phone said it is not possible as she had packed the tray herself, I then took a picture and sent to their whatsapp number and she after viewing apologized and told me to go somewhere else next time. There was nothing they can do now. I was upset on their response and rudely telling the customer to go to other place. I requested to speak to the owner and she refused to give it to the owner. She said she was the one who looks after the restaurant. I again requested to speak to the owner and she then gave it another staff who called herself as the manager of the restaurant. At this point I was not interested to speak to any staff and this manager very rudely tells me "WHAT IS YOUR PROBLEM, just go some other place next time. And I will NOT give the phone to the manager". I asked for her name and she refused to give it, I again requested to speak with the owner and she declined and did not connect me to them. I hung up the phone as her behavior was not at all professional

I will never go to this place ever and will not recommend anyone. My entire group for 50 people have decided the same for a place where the staff has not ethics and professionalism on how to speak to the customer and the owners who do not want to be accountable for the error made in their order. Its a Shame on this business.

Worst restaurant I have ever been to try Indian food. Customer complaint was always neglected by employees stating apology. Manager’s aren’t serious on customer complaints on food instructions and quality.

Good option for Indo-Chinese food in Edmonton. Raman was very friendly and professional great customer service would definitely be back soon.

Amazing food, the staff are very sweet. They went above and beyond to make a lovely little patio and were so accommodating. I highly recommend!

We had so many option to dine in yet we choose to go with this one.the ambiance is shady. No welcome the moment we walked in.seems like the owners who are operating this has least interest running this place.

The person who took order have no idea about the menu.ordered dry lollipop came out with manchurian gravy.cold inside, we had also order prawn manchurian was ok.the best part was when we order schezwan triple fried rice.we were suggested to order chicken mingle fried rice.and guess what it came with green peas and carrot with a cabbage on top.come on who put green peas in the fried rice.we didn't order pulao rice. I can go on and on but since we belongs to the same line so we know what comes and don't in the food.

The only reason I am giving three star because of PRIYA. She was the only person we saw running around the restaurant who tried to fix our fried rice going extra mile.as we were told right in front that once the dish is made they cannot change it.so big shout out to priya who was very professional yet polite who took care of us.

Poor quality food. The soup was disgusting smells bad, nothing is cooked like by professional chef, very poor quality food.never going back again.

The girl work over there named raman i think not sure but that girl is so polite i just went there yesterday & their food is also too good but raman is a girl worked who inspired me bcz she works like robots lol.not funny but its reality. Today I ordered the food first time from Masala tree and we really liked it, the whole food was very delicious and I got the Chapli kebab from them that specially felt like a home made food, very fresh and loved their kebabs. I hope you guys can maintain a good standard food throughout. Thankyou Masala tree for such yummilicious food.

Hello, My name is Jean. I just move here from Toronto. When I tasted your vege soup it was the best than I have ever had. More interesting was the service I received from Raman. She is a talented customer care that I thought she owners the restaurant. She promptly cares about her customers. She is the right person at the right place.

I have only ordered from the Indian side of the menu so far, but everything I have tried has been delicious! They have a real genius for seasoning, every dish has it's own special savour. I especially recommend the okra and the biryani. Also the prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous in my experience.

Worst manchurian and fried rice i have ever had. Manchurian was not even cooked and it was cold inside, only the gravy was hot. I will not suggest anybody to even try this place, its a waste of money.

If you are in Edmonton, you must try this restaurant. The food quality is great and customer service is beyond exceptional.

Bad service. They served old rice that was hard! I called to let them know and they said next time it will be on them. Next time I called, and they said I don't exist in their book so they can't do anything. If you're looking for fresh food, this is not the place. Wish I could have got my money back.

Was there for a surprise birthday party.

We had a dead spider in our food. The restaurant owner refused to talk to us and the manager dismissed our complaint, we paid full bill and walked out. The management is very poor and unprofessional with no background in customer service. Terrible food. We also informed Alberta health services of the filthy food these guys are serving. Before the incident happened, the owner Inderjeet came and talked to us about how once they had an incident where a young girl ate something that she was allergic to and almost collapsed. That just proves how ignorant these guys are. Never going back there again.i would rate them negative just on their management skills. And now, expect a terrible reply on this review from Richa or inderjeet, like they always do to their costumers. I recommend reading other 1 star reviews as well before you step in to this restaurant.

Asked them to make my fried chicken and hakka noodles indian style spicy 9 on the scale of 10 for hot. Later when taken home came to know not at all spicy as white people like it and on top of it no salt. They can remove that masala from that name because if you are catering indians you should could accordingly

Most food is good. Open area and lots of seating. You can also order using Skip the Dishes or you can dine in. The soup which is in the buffet is Bakwas (really bad)! I have included a image of the soup below for your convenience. You can try this restaurant if you wish but I wouldn't recommend it much.

We recently had a party here and i am happy to say our experience has been extremely satisfying. It was one of the best decisions we ever made. They have much bigger space than any other restaurants we were looking at and the food was absolutely amazing. Thank you to all the masala wok staff for making our day such a great memory. Cheers!

We ordered a pick up from this place. Manchurian wings had a bad oil smell it felt like they were fried in an old oil. Same with noodles it had a bad oil smell to it

We are a regular customer at masala wok.the food was great as usual. I just wanted to mention about the new server they have now, I had to wave several times to get his attention as he was on his phone the whole time. I would recommend to focus on your employees.

Despite a disappointing experience several months ago, I decided to drop by the indo-chinese specialty restaurant with the hope it may have improved. Sadly, this wasn't the case.

Although it was a pickup order, I was glad they had finally renovated the place internally, definitely better than before.

I ordered the Chicken Manchurian Rice. It is a fairly staple item on any indo-chinese menu and should have been executed flawlessly. However, regrettably it wasn't. The chicken tasted stale and had a rubbery texture. The final nail on the coffin were the eggs used within the rice - they were rotten. The stench and distaste it created within my mouth was absolutely nauseating. The quantity was well above par, unfortunately the same cannot be said about the quality.

Management should really focus on increasing their quality control.

Hopefully it is able to return to its glory days from almost a decade ago.

One of our favourite places to go for mostly vegetarian buffet. Friendly staff and recently redone interior make this a nice casual atmosphere to eat in.

I really missed my country’s food but this restaurant reminded me everything.it was a great visit and very nice experience.

This is one of the best places in town for Indo-Chinese food. If you are craving for the Fried Rice, Hot Garlic noodles, Manchurian, Lollipop etc from back home, then this place is a sure visit. However, The Street food buffet on Friday and the Veg Buffet on Tuesday is also great. Overall the experience is great and the staff is fantastic.

Masala Wok has the best lime juice in Alberta. I specifically go there for that and their Hakka specialties. I have always been greeted with smiling faces and great service. I would highly recommend this restaurant to everyone.

I saw many of these negative comments about the place and to that I say don't knock it if you haven't tried it.
