Was very disappointed with Renee this afternoon. She run my purchase thru and after I realized I had over paid for my item that was labeled as $39.99. She proceeded to tell me that the register was $44.99. And was not helpful. I said I only wanted to pay the sticker price. After arguing with me she let me return the item and was going to put the return on a gift card. I said I didn’t want the return on a gift card as then I would have a $5 gift card that I don’t want. She said she could do it back to my card it just takes longer. Aka more work for her even though it took two seconds. I was finally then able to make my purchase and get the item gift wrapped. Which took a while and was wrapped worse than my 9 year old would have done as clearly she was annoyed by me but at this point I just wanted to get out of the store. Bothered by her attitude I just thought if she was acting this way to me chances are she has been less than courteous to other customers and I just wanted to vent my concerns. If the store had a manager email I would have sent an email but thought I would just vent here

Pretty expensive for toys, but you can't argue with the quality. Ive had the sensory ball toys for over three years, bought them for my kid when she was 6m/o and now my corgi plays with them and they surprisingly haven't broke? 10/10 would recommend.

Very disappointing experience at the store, went to purchase a simple ball, the cashier rang it up at a higher price than what was written on the bin, when we mentioned it she proceeded to let us know "there is a smaller size, that's cheaper", indeed there was a smaller size but it was priced even lower than what was in the system. They did not even bother to adjust the price to reflect what was written on their own sign. Never coming back here!

This store and staff are very helpful. I have not been in the store but through the phone they came up with exactly what my niece wanted. Everything nicely wrapped. Thank you Trisha. If you can't make it there give them a call their service is great.

Love to have this store in our neighborhood. Staff are very nice and helpful. Parking can be challenging as there are only limited parking shared by multiple businesses.

My kids purchased over $300 toys and one small car have defective issues, then we decide to exchange this small toy car, but when we arrived in store, the “big gentleman” was so rude to my kids and refused to exchange even only after one night, reason is we already took the car from the box, but still in original package.
After reading a few posts about a "bigger gentlemen" I think we may all be referring to the same employee (Perry). I will not be returning to this store until store management properly trains their employees or this “big gentleman” not working there, I guess the reason that this guy so rude and no other employees cares, maybe “bigger gentleman” is the manager.

Great toy store with friendly helpful staff. Lots of fun and educational toys for children of all ages. Been shopping here for years and never once had an issue with any purchase. Great selection, they will also gift wrap your purchase!

Mastermind Toys has done it again! Let's face it, Christmas shopping during COVID-19 is the pits. This is where Mastermind Toys comes in! I was able to go online, search for toys by age, and even confirm if it's in stock or not before I went in. AND they have the best selection of educational toys in the city. You will always be greeted kindly by the staff as you walk through the doors, no big crowds, and there's Fred Penner tunes playing in the background. Who doesn't love Fred Penner? ! I compared their prices with Walmart and Amazon and they were competitive on most items. To top it all off.three magical words. "free gift wrapping"! And let me tell you, they have some crazy wrapping skills! Thank you Mastermind Toys for a great experience and awesome customer service. You made my Christmas so much easier!

I bought a Karaoke Machine from here in March and found it was not working so I went to return it the very next day. The lady told me they are not taking returns yet due to covid and not to worry and that they would contact me when I could return the machine. They told me they would be flexible with their returns due to the uncertain conditions. I went in to return it twice after that and they let me know they still were not taking returns and would contact me when they were. Fast forward to October - I got no call or email from them regarding returns. I decided to call and ask if they were taking returns yet and they told me they are NO LONGER taking returns and I am past the deadline. I got no communication about returns and they somehow expected me to know that they were taking returns July-August. Terrible customer service and a poor way of dealing with the situation. They told me to call customer service - I waited on the line for 1.5 hours and no response. Not a great experience and frustrating for me as I was a frequent customer of theirs.

Go to another location. The staff here could use a lesson in customer service.

I bought a construction building set here for final sale only to find that the set is literally missing pieces. I literally could not finish building the set. The other location I went to before in Tera Losa has refunded me my money for a similar situation with no issues. It is of no fault of the customer that your product you sold me is defective. This location however would only give me store credit after some pressing, and very grudgingly if I might add.

You'd expect better customer service considering this is a toy store. Not to mention, their prices are often quite over-inflated.

Will not be back to this specific location.

Great toy store overall. A little overpriced, but you’ll find something for everyone. The front desk could use a little lesson in customer service. The fellow that typically works the till is anything but a bundle of joy, considering you’re working in a store directed towards children. He wasn’t able to answer basic questions on two items we were interested in. The kicker came when it was time to pay. My wife couldn’t find a birthday email for our little guy (we shop here frequently) that would save us $10 on a minimum $50 order. I thought, “oh well, next time. ” We paid, and as we’re leaving the store my wife finds the email. I head back to the till to be told by this fellow that it “doesn’t apply to past purchases. ” LOL! I said, “pardon me? ” “Then go ahead and refund these items, I’d like to repurchase and apply this coupon. ” He reluctantly did so. Can’t be happy with a bit of personality and do what’s right for the customer? Then maybe find another job. Unfortunate.

I love Mastermind Toys. All the locations in the Edmonton area are fantastic but I recently called the Windermere location and they were very helpful by accommodating special requests in the 'new normal. ' Thanks to Tyler who is a lego expert!

Nice selection of toys here and helpful staff. Sales/specials are offered regularly so, keep an eye out for them to help make your purchase a bit less.

Me and a friend came in on a Saturday to look for a couple gifts for our nieces and nephews. It was a bit busy (there was a coupon for that weekend so we expected this). This is my new favorite toy store! We must have spent an hour just looking around at all the books remembering the ones we read has kids. Its not overwhelming like chapters - I think I read online that someone in corporate picks all the books. And there are some gorgeous books! We both wished we could afford the illustrated Harry Potter books. Plus the books are divided by age, which is very helpful since we don’t have kids ourselves. They also have gift wrapping - I don’t know who was working - if I remember right it was 3 guys (I could be wrong). But they did a wonderful job wrapping all the gifts. I don’t know how they wrapped the stuffed fox but wow. Thank you so much!

Wanted to rate it no stars, only giving one because we found what we were looking for. Our experience here was creepy and disturbing. My boyfriend and I visited this store looking for a yo-yo. We found it, but I'll never come back to this location. The girls that were working spoke to us like we were 3 years old. They used baby talk. We're in our 30's.maybe I could understand if we had little children with us, or even if there were any in the store, but there were no other shoppers. It was really gross.

After reading a few posts about a "bigger gentlemen" I think we may all be referring to the same employee (Perry). I stood at the counter waiting to pay for a gift today for about 10mins while Perry "showed some kids how a science kit worked". When he finally approached the counter, he asked for my email and phone number. I politely said I'd rather not provide any info and just pay for the item, but he interrupted me stating "it was part of the process". I again refused, stating I just wanted to pay and he very abruptly repeated the same comment. He told me he couldnt finalized the sale until I validated my email address. Perry was incredibly arrogant, non helpful and spoke to me in a condescending tone infront of my child. I will not be returning to this store until store management properly trains their employees.

First time shopping here.didn't want to sign up for their points program the clerk (bigger gentleman) was rather rude about it, rung my purchase through and then at the end said you could've saved $10. I've decided to return the purchase tomorrow.

Visited this store last weekend to buy my son a police car. Since it was a long weekend, the store seemed to be quite busy.
The rating is purely to the staff who was present there and kinda helping us.

So I found this car for my son which was kept on the top shelf. The staff - the big guy when asked for the piece said - if you want to buy it, can bring it down for us to take a look - that’s so dumb? Why would I pay for something $80 without even taking a look at the toy.

Eventually he brought one piece down and upon checking the return policy, there is no return if the toy is opened. How can as a parent, I will say my kid will like it or not until the toy is out from the packaging and he tries it.

Unfortunately that was the only time I have had a bad experience at that store else the other staff are great!

Hope the manager reads this and try to implement better customer experience for customers!

The staff are really great and the quiet, calm environment is perfect for kids to look at all the interesting toys and such. They have a lot of books and puzzles too.

Super cool store, the toys are top rated. The toys are more expensive than competitors but these will last a lifetime. Throughly enjoyed going over every square inch of the store with my son. We were there over an hour to pick out the items he wanted. The Bruder line is his favorite (mine too!). Definitely will be going back to get him some more cool toys!

I've absolutely been here for the last time! This new manager is hopeless. I see sales online and I go in and LAST weeks sales are still posted. Or half of them. How do customers know what is going on if the manager isnt paying attention? I have seen this same manager belittle one of their best employees (imo) infront of staff and customers to re-check her purse. Which brings me to why are you treating your employees as thieves? Checking their purses? Our purses are private. Even male police need a female to check a womans purse. Do the male employees get their pockets checked or only women are thieves?
You call and ask to speak to the manager to voice your concerns and he leaves you on hold for more than 15 mins. Some days there's barely enough staff and other days there is a half dozen.
Since new manager Eric has come in, the store has gone downhill. I love Mastermind Toys for their different selections but i will travel to South Common or Sherwood park and spend my money there.

A good selection and non interfering staff makes master mind store a pleasure to walk an browse. It is slightly more expensive products.

They'll wrap your gift in Christmas paper! I also price matched with Amazon and they were cheaper for the items I purchased.
