My wife and kids who all had their haircut by Bassima Which was honestly a 10/10 haircut all 3 of them also said how excellent the service was by Bassima. Not only did she cut the hair perfectly but also dyed the hair to perfection. Colours were blended in with zero mistakes

I was looking for a new hairdresser as I have had a lot of bad luck with previous hairdressers. However, I walked in and got a cut from Bassima, and she did amazing! After brushing out my hair she already knew which haircut I had/wanted, and my hair came back to life! I would recommend her to anyone!

Visited Matrix Salon for the first time and I was nervous trying out a new salon. Bassima did an amazing job! They make you very comfortable and frequently offer water, coffee, etc. They listen to you and also suggest different things to make you look your best.:) I wanted to get straight bangs because I never liked curtain bangs on myself before but Bassima suggested them, and I’m so happy with the way she cut them! The hair dying process was also great and she toned the blonde in my hair beautifully. Same quality you’d get at any “fancy” salon downtown but close to home!:) a north side gem, I absolutely recommend this salon. Other clients seeing the other stylists seemed very happy and looked great as well.

I love this place all the workers are super friendly and helpful. If you want to walk away looking like a million bucks, then this is the place for you.

While the haircut for my husband was well done and the stylist was very nice, we will not be returning. We came in today, Wednesday, due to seeing a sign for a deal on Wednesdays for men’s haircuts. We don’t have much money, so we have to be careful where we go for haircuts. AFTER the cut was finished and he went to pay, he was informed that the price was actually $26, not $18 as the sign advertised. The woman was very apologetic but unable to honour their advertised price because she wasn’t the owner. Not good business policy and we will be going elsewhere in the future.

The stylist (Bassima) took their time in making sure I looked my best before leaving. I definitely recommend going to MATRIX to get a haircut, I’m very happy with the final result. It was also very well priced for what I got done to my hair. The staff there were all really friendly as well. So yes definitely going to go back for now on and 100% am going to be enjoying my new cut!

Bassima did an amazing job on November 29 fixing my hair. Bassima didn’t judge me on my self dyed hair, and did her best to meet my vision of what I wanted; and ended up exceeding my expectations. I would suggest coming to this place and seeing her, or anyone else if you want a new look without feeling like you’re being judged for your state of hair going in.

I came to matrix because the reviews were decent with decent prices and many seemed happy and I was also looking for a walk-in appointment, after suddenly finding some free time for myself, which happens sporadically.

Unfortunately though, the lady who said she could take me, shouldn't have taken me on as a walk-in because she rushed through the cut (less than half an hour, when my hair normally takes 1-2 hours because I have a LOT of hair) and she gave me with the most uneven cut I've had since I had a classmate cut my hair when I was 16. It so uneven, you can even tell when my hair has a lot of texture. She pushed my hair to the front and I had to tell HER that one side was about half an inch longer than the other
At the next salon, the stylist actually showed me that it was even more uneven than I thought, as the face framing that was done at matrix was SO uneven as well.
The prices ARE low though, which is nice I suppose, but it seems you get what you pay for and so I went elsewhere to get my hair fixed.

EDIT: since I cannot reply, but I also find it interesting that instead of simply apologising for their mistake, they put the blame on me claiming I must be leaving a review for the wrong salon. I am definitely reviewing the correct salon

Yana was my stylist and completed a cut and highlights on myself and a cut for my daughter. She is so knowledgeable and takes special care to ensure that her clients are happy. I received blonde highlights and the color is absolutely perfect every time. I highly recommend Matrix salon! The staff are friendly, welcoming and really care that you leave confident and happy with your hair.

My daughter and I stopped by at the salon for a haircut. Yanna was our hair stylist, she is extremely talented and patient. She listens to your concerns when it comes to your hair and gives great suggestions, advice, and explanations for what she plans to do. Both of us were amazed by the result. Yanna is an AMAZING hair transformer! She has done my hair multiple times and each time is better than the last. She never runs out of ideas to change up my look, Highly recommend her!

I went to go get a perm and it turned out amazing! Bassima, did such an excellent job would totally recommend anyone to go here.

Brought my daughter in for a color and cut, I showed Yanna a picture and she did a fantastic job better than what we expected, it was easy to book and worked very well with my hours. The staff are all very kind and fun. I was so happy with the service I booked an appointment for myself.

I went to this salon for foils.the stylist was very friendly and was very experienced in her knowledge of color.the only thing that disappointed me was the fact that she didnt use the second step of olaplex and because of that my hair was left very frizzy?

My stylist was amazing! I called the day of asking for something quite demanding. I had previously been box dying my hair then the last time I went to a stylist I wanted electric blue hair with darker roots. That woman didn't even strip/bleach my hair prior so I ended up with brown hair with blue overtone, and black roots. This washed out immediately and I had spent ALOT of money for that. By the time I came to Matrix Salon I was frustrated and my hair was a mess. Bassima (my stylist) took me in about 30 mins before the end of her shift. The total appointment took 4 hours (so she stayed over 3 hours past her original end of shift!) I was soo beyond happy, she managed to strip and shade my hair so it was all totally even and cut and style it as well. I will 100% be going back to see her in the future! Thank you Bassima!

I got an olaplex treatment on my hair and got it cut and styled, Yanni was amazing! She asked me what I wanted and really made sure I was happy with everything she did! My hair feels amazing and it looks so perfectly curled I'm so happy with the service everyone was really nice! Will definitely be coming here again for Yanni's amazing service!

Kristina is an amazing and very knowledgeable hairdresser! I walked in with and photo and walked out with hair more beautiful than the picture. Highly recommend her to anyone for colour and the cut was perfect! And not to mention how incredibly personable she is! Felt like I was hanging out with friends! ️️️

Yanna is the hairdresser I have been going to for about 8 months or so. When I first went to her I had long hair that was shapeless and lifeless and did not suit me. She listened to what I wanted, looked at the pictures I had saved and gave me exactly what I wanted. My hair is now short with an undercut a very beautiful colour of bleached blonde with pretty toners. People actually come up to me in public places to compliment my hair. It’s amazing!

I have always been nervous to go to hairdressers and usually leave feeling disappointed and ashamed for not feeling like I could speak up. Right away with Yanna i was made to feel comfortable and like she really did care how I looked when I walked out of there.

She is an artist. Plain and simple. Hair is her medium and her skill with colour is top notch.

Been here a few times in the past and had decent experiences. Thought I would come back after my previous experience at a different salon wasn’t the best. I took some time off work for my birthday to be able to get some much needed work done only to come in and find out that the person I spoke to didn’t schedule me in. They took my name which I spelt out for them and my phone number, asked what I wanted done.thought it was weird to be scheduled for an appointment a couple hours to closing when I asked for blonde highlights, didn’t think much of it though. When I was in the shop no one could own up to the mistake they did when asked. It was embarrassing and a waste of my time and I will not be back ever again. Thanks.

I have been getting my hair cut here for a while now. But yesterday's service was the best yet. I explained what I was trying to achieve (grow my hair out) and the stylist completely understood and did a perfect job. I am so happy with my cut. I wish I took her name down as she will definitely be my go to stylist from now on.

Just a bad experience. I was polite and quiet. I dont understand what I could have done differently. Showed a picture of what I wanted, I got something else entirely, and it's my fault for trying them out.
I paid money for a hair cut and now I have to wear a hat. Embarrassing

I have come here 5-6 times for the haircut service. They are all very perfect and professional. To name some I want to thank Kelly, Yaunny and Tracy. Last time a girl did my touch ups and unfortunately I do not recall her name. Great customer service.

I went in to get grey balayage and the owner ended up doing my hair. I had just got it cut a week prior to so my hair was healthy before I got the bleaching done. I have dark hair but for some reason, he bleached up to my roots damaging all of my hair. I showed him the picture 3 times and asked him if he knew what he was doing. Charged me $300 for frying my hair and causing breakage. Worst salon I have ever been to and the owner is very unprofessional arguing with me telling me he knew what he was doing when he clearly did not

I was looking for a stylist to do a major change in my hair and really liked the pictures on the Matrix Salon and Barber page. So I booked in with Kelly told him what I wanted and even showed a picture. I absolutely love and haven't a single regret.

Yanna is amazing! She did an absolutely fabulous job on my hair and her service was a blast. She chatted with me and explained things in detail when I had questions about what I could do with my hair. She was very insightful and knowledgeable and I couldn't recomend her enough!

I will be coming back to this salon next time I need to get my hair done!

This was my 2nd time going and the 1st time, I was satisfied.but this last time, I was BEYOND satisfied. My hairdressers name was Yanna and she spent 6hrs on my what WAS awful hair, and turned me into a hair model by the end of my visit! She made the UNdo able, so very doable and I LOVE and am SOOO very satisfied! Thank you again girl! I recommend this place to every person (guy, girl, woman or man). It doesn’t matter how you walk in, you’re walking out like a rockstar! The six hours that I sat there every person that came in ended up leaving and beyond satisfied and everybody looked amazing! This is a very friendly environment and definitely would want to be your regular hair salon!

I have never left unsatisfied. I have had 3 stylists do my hair over the last 5 years and they have all been great! Highly recommended.

A few years ago I was accompanying a friend who was getting a cut, I had my shaggy hockey hair going and Alex talked me into a cut. I won't go anywhere else now I only trust him and his coworkers to touch my hair. Alex is also great with giving deals on cut/shave/hair dying combos.

Kelly, the owner of this salon has superb customer service! Im excited to visit again! The scissor work and edges are beyond compare, highly recommend!

I have been to Matrix Salon a few times now. Each time, they were friendly and prompt. Yanna cut my hair and gave me hilights. She did such a good job. The colour is vibrant, well placed. My hair looks so much better than I imagined it would. I will definitely be recommending this salon to my friends and family.

This is the only salon I will go to now. I moved to Edmonton 6 years ago and could never find a stylist in this city who I liked. After trying many different salons and many different stylists, I tried Matrix. Every single time I go, they fit me in right away and I get EXACTLY what I ask for, regardless of who does my hair. Everyone here is super friendly and very talented. I have health issues and was on a medication which was causing my hair to fall out and my scalp was extremely sensitive. I was devastated and always wore a hat because my hair was thin and patchy. I went to Matrix and they helped me through a fairly drastic haircut which I absolutely ended up being in LOVE with. No one can even tell my hair is patchy anymore. I never wear a hat now and I LOVE my hair! Not only did they do an amazing job, they were extremely gentle with me as well, so as not to cause my scalp any more pain. I’ve gone back several times since to have it touched up by different stylists, and each one is awesome. Thanks Matrix!

This place is AWESOME. I went here to get my hair colored & styled, and out of ALL the places that I have been to, this salon Matrix, is hands down the best place to go to for hairstyles. Yanna is the lady, who has done the best hair color, cut & style that I have EVER received in my entire life. I will definitely be going back to the Matrix Salon for now on. I won't be going anywhere else but here at the MATRIX. I definitely recommend this salon to everyone and anyone who wants or needs to get their hair fixed up.
