Terrible Customes Service by the Guy Named “James” (Asian boy working as sales person during weekend). We were there with our strong intention to buy a House with Mattamy homes builder. But we were highly dissapointed by the way that salesperson treated us.
First of all He was not interested to provide us proper information and after we encourage him to provide some information, he provide with wrong information, wrong price.
And then we visited them today and find proper information regarding the floorplans and prices from the girls working on weekends.
Mattamy homes really need to address this situation and should invest some time for customer service knowledge to the salesperson they hire!

Run far from Mattamy Homes. They are so nice to you to get you to buy their home, but as soon as the keys are yours, they turn into Satan himself.
As others have reported, their warranty team is absolutely terrible and will blame the homeowners for poor quality and craftsmanship. We have lived in brand new our home for two years and have had a terrible experience with Hilary Stones and Paul. We have expressed concern to Hilary about the faulty electrical system in our home since May 2023. By the way, they are legally required to fix this issue as it is still covered under the new build warranty. It’s now November 2023, and she has now just sent a representative, Paul, to check out the issue. Paul came to our home, spent about 5 minutes in my home and blamed the electrical issues on the appliances that Mattamy supplied. When I asked him to check the electrical panel in the basement, he refused and walked out of my home to his truck. I drove to the Mattamy Trailer on Osborne Drive and explained the poor quality of service to Hilary. Hilary’s response was "we are trying really hard to help you" and "just talk to Traveler’s Warranty directly. We can’t help you anymore. " No Hilary, spending 5 minutes in my home, just to blame it on the appliances that you installed is not helping - it is doing the bare minimum. Stay clear of Mattamy Homes. Their quality is complete trash, and when you express concern, they blame the homeowner. Hilary and Paul are the exact definition of poor customer service. There have been so many other issues. We are speaking to a lawyer and will hopefully have a lawsuit filed soon.

My wife and I had an outstanding experience with Mattamy Homes Southwinds team. The builders Curtis, Brett, and Paty Lopez, assistant builder, alongside Lisa, our design consultant, paid meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that our new home exceeded our expectations in every way. Melissa, our new home specialist, provided invaluable guidance and made the process seamless.
The customer service provided by James and Lorence was top-notch, they were always ready to help. Jennifer Parker, the community coordinator, truly excels in creating a sense of community, with a warm, welcoming and always positive attitude. The warranty team, including Paul, Daniel, Hilary, and Krista, are always keen on getting back to me about any questions, they are always very responsive and make me feel prioritized. The team consistently provide the best service that ensures our peace of mind. Our house feels like a place we could feel comfortable, the community is peaceful and we are grateful to call this place our home.
Mattamy Homes has made our dream home a reality, and we couldn't be happier. Thank you for your exceptional work and dedication!

Excellent Service By Raheel, at Mattamy Homes at Calgary. We know the quality name and brand of Mattamy for so many years and buying properties for our dear clients but if you have Sales in hand of well qualified people with excellent service skills definitely clients will have much better experience. This will be my 2nd review as I have lived in a 'Mattamy" home for the last 2 years and here are my findings.

-The non carpeted flooring is starting to peel where it meets the walls from mopping as I own 2 dogs.
-Basement walls started leaking after a big thaw and I was told to just "let it dry" because it is normal.
-The windows frost severly on the inside around the corners when temperatures dip to -30.
-Garage Door framing had large enough gaps to allow mice to infiltrate my garage.
-Master Bedroom shower is designed in such a way that there are plenty of small areas for mold to develope that are very difficult to clean. The master bedroom toilet is also crooked.
-Plenty of the receptacles have the wires stabbed into the back instead of using the screw terminals because it benefits the electrician to install it that was to save time until you plug in a cell phone charger and your lights act up.

If you have the money to buy a home, dont buy these unless you have more money to change just about everything or you dont care when it all starts to unravel.
Makes me wish I bought an older home.

The sales Team at Southwinds, Tim and James has made home searching experience easy and amazing. Tim knows exactly what we need and went above and beyond to get the home we have been looking for. What a great team Mattamy has. I would definitely recommend my friends and family to purchase with them.

My receptacle stopped working in my bedrooms. I opened one of the receptacle and found that the neutrals were connected straight on the receptacle without any pigtail. As an Electrician myself, I will let you know that its a big safety hazard and against Electrical code. It could also cause fire hazard as loosing a neutral could interrupt the circuit but wont turn it off as opposed to what many people think and equipments like motors can still run but would catch fire after overheating.

What a pathetic Electrical quality. The panel doesnot name the electrical contractor company name which clearly states that the job was performed by an unlicensed professional who doesnot want to be known.

Edit: I appreciate your response and would really appreciate if it will be possible to change gravel for proper rubber surface which is safer when kids are falling and they will not be that dirty after playing at your playground each time. During the summer kids like to go to the playground for couple times a day and after each time we have to give them a bath and wash their clothes which is very annoying, just because when they come back from there they are so dirty from that amount of dust. And I heard the same stories from our neighbours and some of them don’t allow kids to wear slippers, because when they go to wash their legs after playing at playground they make carpets dirty at home, so kids have to use socks in the summer when go to playground, so when they come home they can take them off right away and not making the carpets at home dirty… It’s really disaster how dirty kids are coming back from that playground with a gravel. Thanks

The park that they did at Osborne drive is horrible! It doesn’t have proper drain and the water stays there like a lake after snow melts or rain. And when it’s dry our kids are so dirty after playing there, because they used cheap gravel on the playground which is always so dusty. Instead of using proper solid rubber surface which is safer, cleaner and easier to maintenance they used something that is just cheaper. Very disappointed about it and heard the same comments from our neighbours as well! Shame on you Mattamy Homes.

Could not find show homes, though they posted a beautiful single family house with an address. We went to that address and no homes were built. Only dirt and across the street were all duplexes. Very unprofessional and deceiving. We even tried stopping at the builders check-in to ask where they were and the doors were locked and no answer, even though the workers were working on building duplexes. We moved on, to different builders in the area that were easily found with show homes available.

We just bought house from them in Nov. So far the customer support has been great. Hoping for the quality and after possession support be as good. I will definitely update the review if I find any change in that.

Update: I had decor meeting with Lisa after 5 months of booking the house- She was great, professional and lovely person to deal with. The house has yet to start but so far satisfied. Will keep updated.

I hope this review helps others with their home buying experience or their decision to build with Mattamy:)

For one, I have been dreaming about home ownership for many years and are very familiar with the home builders in Calgary and their floor plans. What drew us to Mattamy Homes was their beautiful floor plans but what kept us there were the people we met along the way. The first time we visited the show homes, we were greeted by Lorence. My husband and I were torn between two similar floor plans but their was only a show home for one of the model. Lorence took us on site to view some of the other models that they did not have show homes for, while pointing out the differences between the models. We are so appreciative for this because it helped up make the best decision for us. We had some concerns about the building timeline as we were wanting to get into our home ASAP. Lorence answered these questions honestly. Lorence did not attempt to sugar coat anything to gain our business. Although he could not make any promises with regards to when our home would be complete, this actually made us trust Mattamy more because we knew we would always get an unbiased and honest answer. Lorence, Tiffany, and James were also patient in answering all of our questions. (I probably called the sales centre almost every day with questions)

Nearing completion, we had the pleasure of meeting other Mattamy staff along the way. Cristy did our walk though and was a huge resource for us as first time home buyers. She taught us everything we needed to know to care for our home. Cindy always made herself available when I called with questions about our home, and she always came up with a solution. The building team (sorry I forget their names) were awesome as well.

When we had our 30 day walk through (this is when the builder comes and takes care of any defects in the home), we were pleased with the service we recieved. Our builder did not try to cut costs to tell us that particular defects would not be covered in our warranty. They fixed all defects we outlined. The home was well built - many of the defects were paint scratches from moving in our furniture, etc)

We are so grateful to Mattamy and our experience building our first home with them. We receive complements from every guest who has come into our home. We have lived in the home for about two months now and the home is very well built - no issues at all. Thank you Mattamy.

PS - if you want an actual living room and not those 10 by 10 boxes most builders give you, build with Mattamy:)

Mattamy Southwinds sales team is very helpful, co-operative and professional. On the other hand project management ream is not that great, it is very disappointing that their closing date is moved out and still not clear response if Mattamy will be able to meet the postponed date. Closing date is very important as people have so many things aligned up with closing date. Mattamy need to be more professional with commitments. I will definitely update my feedback if I get better response in future. 2 stars for sales team.

My daughter and son in law purchased a home through Mattamy and included me every step of the way. I was introduced to Lorence Bouvier, one of their sales consultants, at the start of the process and he was very professional, pleasant and patient with us while we looked at a few different home models with him, prior to making a final decision. The process from start to finish was top notch. I would recommend Mattamy Homes for their exceptional service and beautiful homes.

Poor material and construction quality.
After couple of years materials starts falling apart. It's like everything was rushed.if you are looking for quality.then don't.
Electrical panel /switch in the panel was not even labeled.

community development and home elevation design!
I appreciate his patience and honesty. He really helped with such caliber, for my final home purchase.

I would like to give an advice to anyone who wants to buy a home from Mattamy, make sure you inspect the home quality FIRST. I recently found out that my Dryervent IS NOT completed yet. The dryer vent does NOT have access to outside from attic area.

Worst customer service. If you want to get insulted, do visit them. There realtors will showoff their wealth and will downgrade you and will ask you to leave if your budget is slightly low.
Will never ever recommend them.

Other builders treat customers like god but mattamy thinks themselves as god.

Buying our house with Mattamy homes has been a great experience from the start, when we met Elise she was professional and accomodating. Even if i had a question she would respond in time nothing was bother to her. The customer care we got and support from Heather was above and beyond during our posession peroid it was a challenging time, but Heather was there for us which made the process good for us. Thank you Heather for the great job you do. We are now in our home and very happy even the warranty team Akina has been so good, always availble to answer and help. I would recomend Mattamy Southwinds awesome team.

Mattamy homes does it again. Unfortunately I did read numerous negative reviews before building our home with Mattamy and I wish we listened to them.
There are so many things that were rushed through in the building of our home. I swear I find something every week that was done poorly.
We have just started doing our basement (after waiting the year) and now we really see all the issues. We have pieces of wood jutting out of the wall that was connected to the foundation (the wall should have been built over this wood but now we have an extra 4x8 piece that we had to cover with wood and it comes out of our back wall) - we were told that that’s normal, even though none of our neighbours have it. Nothing is square in our basement and the concrete had tons of dips and was not done properly. I was told that the layer they put over the concrete “must have been a little dry” so it didn’t work properly, but of course they wouldn’t fix it. Our wood on our balcony is all warped. The caulking they used for all the baseboards and trim must have been so cheap because it is cracking everywhere and needs to be replaced. We have been in our home for 2 years. They did the grading and grass for our home and we had to rip it all out because of how uneven it was. We had do dig up our entire backyard to fix the grade and all the holes. They replaced the swale in our backyard about a year in and destroyed the yard again. They also parked their machinery to do that in our front yard so dig huge holes in to the front yard. They offered to provide us with the sod for our backyard after we had finished the repairs ourselves. They now refuse to give us the equivalent in a cheque form.
Every time I have an issue, I email about it and end up having to escalate it. I have never met someone as rude as the customer service manager Heather.
Again, I wish I had listened to the bed reviews that Mattamy continues to receive. It is so sad that the purchase of our first home has been shadowed by all of these problems and terrible customer service.

Mattamy makes really cheap houses. Everyday I am finding new small things going wrong with my home (It has added up to quite a significant amount). It is as if they had a teenager who was thinking about other things, complete my house while multitasking.

Two years owner of a new build in Airdrie. Mattamy has the best designs and floor plans in my opinion. The price was right for me as well.
After sale support has been phenomenal.
I have recommended Mattamy to one of my friends and he just closed on a new build unit in Airdrie as well.
I would definitely recommend Mattamy again to anybody I know who is in the market for a house.

We built our house with Mattamy in 2016.and the sales staff and building process was pretty good, it's only after we moved in that I started noticing problems. We were promised an upgrade on our carpet, and didn't get what we originally picked out, we got crappy builders grade instead that now looks like garbage not even 2 years into living here. Our floors creak.all the time. We had people into "fix it" but they still creak. The workers told us that the builders neglected to screw the subflooring down and that it was only secured with nails. All of my windows have deep cut marks from the cleaning staff they hired, who obviously don't know how to use a scraping blade to take stickers off windows. All in all, I love my house and the plan we picked, but I think Mattamy needs to take extra care in not missing these steps during the building process, and the HUGE turnover of staff makes it difficult to keep everyone on the same page. Therefore, the homeowner is kept waiting for answers, and completely out of the loop. I'm not sure if I would recommend them as a builder to others.
