Poor customer service.
After a window started leaking moisture, we sought a replacement through thier warranty. We ended up paying $400, and that's after a struggle with them.

I recently had McLeod Windows and doors upgrade my windows. I found the service excellent. Matt provided very good information, provided options for me and took the time to answer my questions. The installers were excellent, providing draping to protect my floors, furniture etc. They also cleaned up after themselves taking all garbage etc. They were very pleasant and respectful. I would highly recommend this company to friends and family and I will use them again in future.

Ordered 2 windows and Patio Door - produce seems good, installation was great, was very surprised to learn McLeod stored my credit card information and used it without my knowledge or consent.

Very bad service, called and the person hung up twice in a row. If you don’t want to work, don’t work. As simple as that.

Exceptional Customer service, fair pricing and will work with you to make sure you are happy! That’s what they did for me. I have nothing bad to say as they were on time for every appointment, answering every phone call if I had questions and I also had the manager call me to check in on how my windows are. I highly recommend buying Windows and or Doors from this amazing business!

Full story (TLDR, scroll to end) :

We spent $42000 on windows and doors at McCleod. They have mostly lived up to the standard. The issues we have had, they have dealt with effectively under warranty.

My dad blew a rock through one of the door windows and we needed a replacement. It was cheap enough ($450) but installer was booked into October (2 months away) which meant picking up the replacement and finding another installer.

When I arrived to pick up, there was nobody to be seen in the warehouse. So, I rolled into the showroom, looking for paperwork and help. The pleasant lady at the front door said I just needed my order number. When I got back to the warehouse, the fella was on a zoom call. He flashes me the 2 min sign.

2 minutes I can handle. When we drag into 10 minutes, I'd suggest there is a customer service issue. If the call is THAT important that you can't take the (literal) 60 seconds to deal with me, maybe there should be effective coverage to cover an event exactly like the one I'm describing.

I arrived back in the showroom to pursue other avenues of pick-up. While the nice lady went in search of someone, said warehouse manager arrived to std. (Save the day).

Is it possible I'm a little uptight about time? Absolutely. However a 45 minute drive (each direction) and the lack of timely installation staff left me with no choice but to pick the thing up and I believe that an "in-person" customer probably should take priority.

Not here. If you disagree, that's fine. This is based on a single experience but is reflective of the mentality here. I'm assume it's the top down as another review I'd originally posted got an immediate response with excuses about why the employee was in the right. *Shrug*

TLDR: decent warranty service. Bad in person service.

They provided windows for a house we built. One of thw windows was cracked and we were promised a new window. That was 2 years ago and since then they have quit taking our calls and will not return calls. Would not work with them again!

Very poor quality products, and understandably they do not stand behind their poor products. We bought all new triple pane windows 6 years ago for our new home, so far we’ve had to replace 5 due to moisture staining on the Center pane (2 last year and 3 this year). They will replace the sealed units but we have to pay to package them, drive to the city to pick them up, and install them ourselves. At this rate I’m just cringing at the cost and time to slowly replace all our new windows. I highly recommend buying from somewhere else.

McLeod's must be killing it! They are so busy that they can't be bothered to answer the phone. Some close friends told me that McLeods is a small company that provides top notch services to their customers. That has not been my experience! I have called several times asking to speak to a sales person. The receptionist always sounds annoyed as if I were dragging her away from something more important! I have left numerous messages with the receptionist and I have never received a call back. Today I decided to drive over there and wouldn't you know it the place was closed! At this point I will be going elsewhere its obvious that McLeod doesn't need or want my business! Too bas zero stars is not an option!

We ran into some issues with our window install but in the end the company fixed the problems and the windows look great!

Kohltech acquired Equibuilt windows a few years ago and they still honoured a warranty replacement for glazing purchased from Equibuilt. When I spoke to Kohltech about 5 windows that were "fogging up" they suggested contacting McLeod Windows and Doors who coordinated ordering the glass under warranty and then arranged for the installation. Everyone I dealt with at Kohltech, McLeod and the installer Ted Zystra were knowledgeable, courteous and professional. I would not hesitate to recommend Kohltech or McLeod Windows and Doors.

For months I waited for someone to call me back regarding my window. After being ignored time and time again I decided to try my luck one last time. Much to my surprise a young lady answered the phone. I told her my story and she proceeded to apologized for the unsatisfactory customer service I had received in the past. She assured me that she would do her best to assist me and would call me back within the hour. Truth be told I wasn't holding out much hope. Much to my surprise within 20 minutes she called, answered all my questions and gave me pricing. Thank you Marcella for providing phenomenal customer service! You took the time to listen and I truly felt you cared!

My initial review would have been a one star based on the missed commitments and lack of communication etc on the part of one of their subs. Kevin and Christine did agree to meet with me over my concerns, committed to getting it right and are doing so as I type this review. We all know issues happen, how they are handled sets the well run businesses apart from the poor ones!

Terrible experience. 6 months and my installer is still waiting for parts to complete install for 3 exterior doors. Still have gaping holes in my home. Stay away from this company at all costs.

Not impressed with my most recent experience at all. I had basement windows installed at the end of August. I noticed that all of the windows had shrunk from the dimensions in the contract so I called and emailed the sales person next day. When I didn't receive a response in over a week and a half, I contacted the service department by phone - which was then followed up with an email. Again - no response from McLeod.

After a very silent 3 months the sales person finally called - back but not to address the size issue, they were asking for final payment. When I then inquired again regarding the smaller window sizes, the sales person dismissed the issue and stated the windows were constructed based on the measure up dimensions and there would be no adjustment to the final billing. I was present during the measure-up, I was not told that there would be any changes to the dimensions.

I had 5 windows replaced and they were all big or custom shapes. I had originally received a quote for a full frame replacement from one of the big competitors. They came in, gave me a quote and I thought I was good to go. My cousin who has dealt with both companies strongly suggested I use Mcleod instead - So I figured getting a quote wouldn't hurt. I dealt with the sales guy, Tim, who was awesome. He (and his installer) came in and very quickly saw that my windows were engineered frames - so to put in a full frame would buckle the front of my house. I didn't understand what this actually meant so I kept asking and checking - but he held his ground that he could not do full frame windows in my place - but needed to do an insert. I didn't want that - so I called the other guys to check - they confirmed (after I point blank asked) that they were 100% fine with full frame windows.

So, decided to be safe and trust Tim. When my windows came out and I could see the frames - it was painfully clear what they meant. If they did a full frame window - it would have completely compromised the structural integrity of my house along the front. I was shocked the other company didn't see this? !?

So, long and short: Thanks Tim for saving my butt! McLeod had a better window, for less and didn't collapse my house. What more could you ask for? !

Awful experience. Received the windows 1 month past the initial install date, and received multiple wrong orders. I am now 3 months past the initial install date, and I still do not have the issue resolved. Will never used them again.
