We really enjoyed the donair sausage and the amazing selection of meats! Very friendly staff and it’s locally owned! Don’t forget the sweet sauce with the donair sausage, so delicious!

I can't believe I didn't review these guys sooner, because I want to let it be known that if you're like me, trying to support local businesses, you really can't go wrong with Meathead. It's not even about what they sell to me, it's that they make the effort to endear themselves to the community.

Now I hadn't been here in quite a while, so when I had a day off from work, I decided to stop by for their customer appreciation BBQ. The people who manned the grill were very welcoming and laid back, and seemed quite happy to be able to bring people together. The burgers and smokies were delicious, and I had a good helping of both. One of the folks manning the grill was talking about his line of BBQ sauces, Mickey Jays. Liquid Gold was the sauce they used in particular on the food, and man-oh-man, that stuff was SO good, that before I left for home, I went inside the store and picked me up two bottles, as well as a few extras. The service at checkout was just as welcoming, and it was the highlight of my day for sure. I'll definitely be coming back to try out the rest of the Mickey Jays line, as well as some other goodies, too. Definitely recommend this place if you're in the area.

Great butcher shop
The Chicken breast stuffed with crab and cheese then wrapped in bacon WOW!

Came in looking for a ribeye sliced for Philly cheesesteak sandwiches, and MeatHead delivered.

Wish we had gotten the name of gentleman that helped us because we will be back soon.

Great local butcher shop, wide variety of selection and helpful team.

Not sure where the fish is sourced, but we had some arctic char from here and it was fresh and delicious.

The hours are convenient as well.

Good customer service is key to a good business. My experience was NOT good.

I called Meathead to see if they had any donair sausages and spoke with Jason. After telling him I needed enough for six people, Jason replied, "I have tray available and will set 12 aside for you. "

When I arrived at the shop an hour later, they had none and told me there had been an unexpected run on the donair sausages and asked me to wait 15 minutes while they made some fresh.

***UPDATE*** After posting my initial review, I was immediately contacted by Teddy (the owner) who took full accountability for my initial, negative experience at his store, offered, and delivered at no charge the sausages I wanted.

Meathead does understand good customer service and goes to great effort to deliver it!

Teddy is absolutely fantastic and this is the place to go in edmonton if you want good quality meat. Supporting local is often inconvenient and more expensive. The prices are very reasonable and the quality is significantly better. I will buy all of my meat from here moving forward.

They have a great selection of meats at pretty reasonable prices. I picked up a rib eye and was impressed with the melt in your mouth texture. They also have a good selection of packaged meats, like bacon, if you need a last minute weekend breakfast item.

I'm excited to have a shop like this in the neighborhood.

3 years later: still enjoy visiting and glad to try their different offerings. We're eating less meat these days, but Meathead is always top of mind for me when I want good value and quality.

Always friendly service, fresh meat options, tasty dinner recommendations and even cooking suggestions! Great deals on frozen items and the BEST sausages that my kids love.

Amazing butcher experience. A few of us rented an AirB&B for work and I had the pleasure of walking into this shop and chatting with the owner. What a nice dude. Realizing that we were only there for a couple nights, he hooked me up with his famous seasoning. So freakin' good! I would definitely pick some of this up. Great to have a genuine chat with another human. Keep up the great work Mate!:)

These guys are awesome, they were able to grind my own blend of patty without hesitation. Very professional and love what they do. Highly recommend these guys

I was told about MOTLEY QUE. BBQ SAUCE it having won awards for the best BBQ sauce citing that it sells for between 12 and 13 dollars a bottle. I went to MEATHEADS because it was one of the stores that carried it, and there i was charged 21.84 a bottle. I realize that stores have to make a profit, but this is price gouging. I checked the website myself in case i was mistaken about the price I was told, but the website was correct. I would suggest you buy it from the website for 12.97.

Staff was friendly, accommodating and informative. Great selection of meats, I can't wait to go back and try them all!

It's a must try

I usually go at Real Deal Meat but they were close today.so we decided to try meat head. Service was good and meat shop was clean but was not very impressed with some of the meat (like the ribs.) being from Maple leaf instead of local.

Picked up thick cut T-bone steak today Sunday and a pork chop. Hands down best steak and chop I’ve had. Conveniently opened on Sundays. The spice they gave on the side was perfect.

We drove all the way from Leduc because our butcher was closed on Sunday. We went for a prime rib and ended up leaving with steaks, pork chops, lobster tails, chicken and a meat loaf oh and some spices. They spiced up all our meat with spices we wanted to try. There was a guy and a girl working and they both where incredible! Have to say we will be making a drive all the way from Leduc again to buy from here!

Great cuts of meat, terrific selection and Teddy and his staff are friendly and helpful. What else could you possibly want? This little shop is a real gem. Highly recommend.

Nice shop, was able to shop maskless, no one said a thing and I am grateful for that made shopping seem normal again. The meat looks great can't wait to cook my chop

I have not gotten a bad cut if meat here ever. I usually get my beef and lamb from the farm direct; this is great. I feel we get huge value on any cut we have purchased. Just cooked a leg of lamb and it was fantastic. Our company was very impressed. I refer everyone I know.

I haven’t had a T-bone steak for over a decade. It isn’t that I didn’t want or crave a T-bone steak, it is just you go to a grocery store and all they have are these half inch, paper thin steaks for over 20$. It didn’t seem worth the money so out of habit I didn’t even look at the T-bones at meathead’s. I needed a couple of steaks for dinner so I went to the striploin. As I am pointing out which strip I want I glance at the T-bones and have to do a double take. They are not paper thin but look about an inch thick and are massive. I mumble how much is a T-bone going to run me expecting an answer like 30-40$ each. When Teddy said between 15-17$ my heart lept with joy for my stomach which was going to be enjoying T-bone for the first time in a decade. I got two in fact just in case Teddy was dehydrated and had given me the wrong price. I make no bones about the fact I was going to buy those T-bones and get out of the butcher shop before they called the cops on me because relative to what they charge in big grocery those T-Bones were highway robbery. You just don’t see beautiful T-bones like this anymore. Tonight I am going to feel like a king sitting on the Iron Thrown ruler of the 7 kingdoms eating that steak which means tomorrow my cousin will likely stab me in the back and take my spot to enjoy the second T-bone.

Great place to get all your seafood and meat needs. Teddy the owner is especially friendly and will treat you as family everytime.

I picked up a boneless pork shoulder roast last week for pulled pork, cooked it up in my slow cooker and it tasted fantastic! The service was great as well. I had contacted them before I came in, and when I arrived Teddy had a few cuts waiting for me to choose from.

I picked up some thick bone-in pork chops to BBQ, they were so juicy and totally worth standing outside in this extreme cold.
