Closed for walk ins with no notice. Arrived at 2: 20 pm on a Monday afternoon. Sign clearly stated the clinic would close at 3 so being turned away without even an apology was quite a surprise.
Opened at 0900, stood in line for 15 mins. When I got to the front I was told they were only taking 5 walk-in for the day, and I'd have to go elsewhere.
State this when people are queued up so they don't have to wait unnecessarily.
We arrived in the early afternoon and were told to come back during the walk in window. When we arrived during the walk in window, we were told that we should have had an appointment and to leave. I understand that walk-in clinics fill up but the woman could not have been ruder, telling us that we should have had an appointment we could not get and that 20 minutes into the walk-in window is not a reasonable time to arrive. Now granted, it may not be and I must have overestimated how many appointments they’d be able to see. But the confrontational attitude in which we were treated like idiots for coming back when we were told to was not appropriate or professional.
Receptionist started asking me personal health questions from her desk while I was sitting in the waiting room filled with other patients. They all heard why I was at the clinic, how I had injured myself, and where the pain was located. Super unprofessional. Doctor was helpful.
Waited outside in the cold with 8 other patients at from 8: 30am to 9: 20am waiting for clinic to open as hours online and on the door say 9am-9pm. Had to call another medi-centre clinic to find out they only open at 4pm today.
As a courtesy to sick patients needing care - Maybe post a notice on your door or website when you are adjusting your hours so people don't waste their time in the cold and go else where for treatment.
Absolutely unacceptable from a health care clinic. Do better.
After waiting for close to 90 minutes (around 9: 30pm / 30 minutes after official closure), I have had the doubtful pleasure to meet Dr. Fung. I told him about my symptoms/concerns after being in ER a few days earlier. He not only brushed away the potential root cause of my problem without diagnosing my issue further, he didn't give me even a hint of a solution either. I had the impression it must have been a joke for him. The actual joke was his 'thorough' examination. In the end, all I got was a prescription to ease my inflamation for two weeks (which would kick in after about the same time), when I told him I won't be able to see my family doctor for the next 4 weeks. This is probably my worst experience in any clinic within Alberta, beside of the fact that neither of the two receptionists told me at any point, he would still still see me or simply being kicked out at some point after 9: 00 pm. Beside of all that, the examination room appeared to be rather filthy. If I were you, I would try any other place before!
I walked into this clinic on Thursday as my regular family doctor was on vacation. Dr. Syed Haider saw me quickly, answered my questions, and listened to my concerns. He was very calm and informative in his approach which I appreciated.
The lady receptionist was so unprofessional to answer the simple question of howmany people are ahead of me? And when can I come back to the clinic. She fighted me badly for this common question! Even I told her I do not have any complaints about being late. Just want to know. I've never have this kind of experience in my life! If my dr was somewhere else I never will come back to thos clinic.
I very much appreciate the prompt and accurate diagnosis and instructions on what was a more serious fall than I thought. The x-rays showed a broken rib, but its position is good for it to knit properly. I now have to do breathing exercises and avoid heavy lifting or pulling down motions. I must forego my usual exercises, which I will miss, but look forward to resuming those programs in due course. Thanks for your staff's help
It would be a decent place to go if the doctors ever showed up for their shifts. Even the girl behind the counter seems fed up with it. I generally don't give bad reviews but it's the third time in a row.
They don’t have any sense or urgency at this place whatsoever. Just let people wait and wait with no answers and no patients even going in. And when they do finally start taking patients it’s in no particular order they just take whoever they want. Someone who’s been waiting 15 mins is welcomed in by the doctor and I was there for almost 6 hours watching people go past me. They were all walk-ins like me. Just sad how little they care about vulnerable people. Do better.
Extremely limited walk-in time window. Only seeing 10 people a day starring at 4pm. Arrived at 345 and was told they wouldn't add me to the wait list until after 4pm so I sat down with ~10 other patients waiting until 4. Then at 350 2 new people walked in and were put on the waiting list ahead of all the others. There were at least 10 people waiting before they showed up, meaning at least 2 others were not going to see anyone that day
I’ve been seeing Doctor AK from the start of my pregnancy. The entire clinic is unprofessional and rude. The receptionist literally hung up on me when I requested to speak to the doctor. To anyone who is even thinking about going to this doctors office don’t. Both Doctor AK and the receptionist s here are absolutely rude. Also Doctor withheld important information regarding my pregnancy. This clinic should be shut down immediately and Doctor AK should lose his licence to practice.
Really rude receptionist. I have not experienced such hostility in a medical environment before. She even wanted my 18 month old to wear a mask (that too, in such a rude manner). We did not want to make an issue, so put the mask on my child. Such a pity because she is the first person you deal with when you enter. Nurse Terry was amazing, and made us feel so welcome after dealing with the hostile lady.
I waited 2 hours for doctor and he was brief uninterested in my health would only give me 28 days of medication that take for my heart for the rest of my life now I have to go back in 28 days wait for 2 hours for this money grabbing peace work
First the lady at the counter did not welcome me well and when I asked for a family doctor because is was new in the area she replied that the doctors here no longer take new clients, it is really a clinic to help people?
Lousy attention at the reception. Receptionist has no patience nor demonstrates vocation. There is no compassion with people whose first language is not English. Totally disappointing as overall.
I was a health care professional before I retired. Dr Akinrinlola was a rude, judgement, negligent man, to me, a woman needing antibiotics. He insisted I take his recommended treatment not mine. I returned to the river bend medicenter 2 days later with a severe allergic reaction. Dr Akinrinola did not recognize my condition and yelled and belittled me. He said ‘this is just your anxiety and why are you lying to me’. He said continue with treatment and walked out. He should know the side effects of medications and have the expertise to recognize them.
I visited the Riverbend Medicentre and because I was out of province, I was told I had to pay $40 for my visit. At first I was skeptical and questioned this process as in my experience, this is not typical. I’ve been to a walk-in and emergency, I’ve even had surgery on more than one occasion outside my home province, and never before have I had to pay out of pocket. I took a form they told me I can use to seek compensation from my provincial Health (Sask), but when I did so- Sask Health told me they too were charged by Riverbend Medicentre; as such, they could not reimburse me. This clinic “double-dipped” - charging me and my provincial health for my visit. This is very dishonest and distasteful. I strongly recommend anyone seeking a walk-in consultation to look elsewhere.
Dr. Akinrinlola is THE WORST "doctor" I have ever EVER seen! He is extremely disrespectful and he doesn't care about his patients. Do yourself a favor and avoid seeing him.
Dr. Akinrinlola has no business being a doctor. I saw him three times and each time he dismissed my concerns and disregarded my description of my injury saying I was fine. He never showed a shred of empathy or interest, just wanting to get the consultation over as fast as possible. He even asked me how I was feeling once and then corrected me by saying I was fine.
Very pleasant staff, they took my temperature, pretty short wait time even though I just walked in. Hand sanitation at the door. Socially distanced waiting room.
Honestly, been coming here since I was a kid. My opinion might be biased, but I really like this place, I always feel comfortable and very well looked after here.
I walked into this clinic with an infection in my finger. I saw Dr. Akinrinlola; it’s been two weeks dealing with this infection and I must say I received the most thorough treatment. He was very persistent about ensuring it didn’t spread, and wanted to see the progress. He performed two procedures and was very gentle and effective. The staff were also patient with me and never made me feel like a bandaid change was wasting their time. Everyone was very friendly. The infection was taken care of, and didn’t have to be treated beyond the Medicentre. Thank you!
My wife cut her hand quite badly. We were able to see a Dr without any wait. The level of care and professionalism was excellent. We have been back for follow up care and have had great experiences each time.
Waiting out side just 45 min plus 2 hrs waiting inside the room the service is very slow my daughter very thirsty in side the room reach first before you go if who’s the Dr is working.
Felt very uncomfortable hearing some health news. The friendly administration, knowelagble Doctors and helpful nurses made me feel comfortable. Felt I was in good hands and looked after properly.
Walked in to see a doctor at 1pm, lady upfront wrote my name down. After waiting for an hour, I asked her how much longer? She answered me walk ins start from 3pm but there are 7 people ahead of me so asked me to come back at 430pm. Then why the hell would you write my name and ask me to sit? What kind of a walk in is this? People call and put their names down for walkins without walking in? This place should be shut down, they just want as many people in as possible to increase revenue.
Do yourself a favour and stay away from this place.
This doctor is a joke. I don't suggest this center to anyone. The doctor didn't even hear what I had to say about my symptoms I was still very congested sick. I told her all of the medicine I've been taking was not working and she gave me some asthma inhaler. I had full out bronchitis. I feel I wasted my time and money 100 percent. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!
The receptionist are always friendly and ready to help you, with a big smile they register you promptly to see the doctor. The doctors here are great.are are very professional and really care about their patients. I have see Doctor Fung on many occasions. He is an excellent doctor with many years of experience. Other doctors at this place offers excellent services to their patients.
I always get accurate wait times at this clinic, and today, I even got lucky enough to get in immediately when I got there! Whoever was the middle eastern doctor I had the pleasure of interacting with for the past two visits, she's pretty amazing. She always asks tons of questions, shows genuine interest in any concerns I have and makes sure to give me various options when it comes to treatment and advice. I'd like to mention that the front desk staff are always super nice and welcoming as well.
Opens at 9. Doctors don't come till 945. First one in the door and still a hour and a half wait! People have to work, please get more doctors and maybe have doctors start when you open ️️️️ horrible place
The clinic opens at 9 a.m. By 9: 45 a.m, the A. M. Doctor, Dr. S Adbella had still not shown up. Based on the assistants expression, seems like a frequent occurrence.
Went for an infected spider bite. Doctor E.did not touch it, examine me, or check my temperature. Refused to offer any diagnosis and said "if you don't like it, see someone else"
I'd give 5 to the female doctor that I interact with in my last few visits, however I slightly experienced what people have spoken about in the reviews. I got there at 8: 57, didn't realize they'd open earlier and when I went in at exactly 9: 00, there was already about 5 people ahead of me. (That's okay!) I was told half hour to 45 mins, that's cool! Wait time's usually don't bother me, I know what's up. I expected an hour or so- However it was an hour and a half before I was seen and the doctor was in a gigantic rush. He very gently pressed on the areas I had mentioned (I'm overweight, so you can't feel nothing with some gentle fingers, even though i was like yeah! Do u!) and was like "here, get u an ultrasound" This was about a 3 and a half minute exchange besides the 2 or so minutes he spent getting the refferal slip thingy. Immeditley he tried leaving without me giving me a chance to ask more questions. I did not feel important or that /MY/ time was valued. I understand there's people waiting, I waited too. But I'd like to at least get more than a "here just get xrayed, farewell" Like homie. I love love the female doctor I interact with, and while this dude was kind, I felt very dismissed. Like if that was what you were planning to do, could that not have been a quick "hey lets do this patient so they're out and we have less people waiting" OR at least make that patient feel like their time means something when they are being seen. I had to force my questions onto him before he slipped out of the door and idk not that I wanna play the gender card, every female doctor I've encountered actually cares about your time and your concerns and makes you feel welcome and that your health isn't a time constraint. If you can get the nice lady if she still works here, I'd do that and it's always such a stellar experience.
Please do not go to this clinic! I went to this clinic and I was seen by Dr. O complaining of extreme ear pain, he checked my ear and said its very clean and I probably cannot handle pain so I should just take advil. I informed him that i have been taking advil and the pain is just getting worse. He said well i guess i can give you painkillers but you don't have an ear infection. Even after I informed him I know its an ear infection. He said no it is not. I then went to Capilano Medicentre and the doctor said it is obvious I have an a outer ear infection. The Riverbend Medicentre is by far the worst where a doctor dismisses an ear infection and simply states a patient does not know how to handle pain!
During my time here, I found that the doctors to be HIGHLY unprofessional. I went in about a skin condition called scabies, only to find the the doctor never administered proper testing to determine if it is or not. When I brought up the concerns, he prescribed me with Nix Creme Rinse, meant for lice. Due to the 1% permethrin, it is ineffective against scabies and is not a valid treatment method. This pharmacy is very unprofessional, the doctors are an absolute joke. Avoid coming here at all costs, as the doctors have costed me $30 due to an unprofessional examination. I recommend that you do not ever come here, you risk your health and safety with this clinic. I do not recommend seeing any doctor associated with this clinic.
Keep in mind, the doctor only glanced at these hive/lump formation and said it was eczema when it has clearly spread all over my body. Eczema is patches of dry skin, not tiny, itchy red bumps forming all over your body.
Without even administering tests, he prescribed me with lice cream meant for LICE, not scabies. The doctor is a joke and not fit to be in this profession. I would recommend hiring proper staff and removing incompetent doctors from employment because they are an outright risk to public health and safety. They do not properly examine anything professionally.
And to the managemnt of this clinic, you will be lucky to not be sued for the unprofessionalism experienced at this clinic.
Good medicenter. The problem I found is all the old people with nothing better to do than have their goiters checked. Seriously overloaded. Then you have the self important people. No appointment, then they start asking how much longer until they see the doctor.
Must safe the front desk staff were great. The Dr was not. I went in with a bleeding sore throat. Without even looking at me she said its a virus now go home! I left crying and sn hour later found out I had a double ear infection and strep throat. What a quack!
! AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Their intake process is a joke. Please read the reviews before making a decision to come here. We got here at 9: 10, took a number, and we were told they would but us in the queue, but to come back because it was a 90 minute wait. Came back, and watched people walk in, and get helped before we did. There is no queue system, just whoever they feel like bringing in. Even saw a gentleman with an appointment have to sit and wait while other walkins including us went ahead of him. Obviously they have no clue. After three hours, we gave up and had a Shoppers Drug Mary pharmacist help us. Drive to Ellerslie, or anywhere else before you come to this medicenter.
Also notice how the medicenter has responded to every single bad review asking for more info and feedback. Obviously they do nothing with the feedback if people are still leaving poor reviews and nothing is changing. They even hang a sign on their door saying they close early because they don’t have enough staff, so don’t trust the hours listed online. I expect that from a Tim Hortons, not a medical clinic. Absolute joke. Wish we had checked the reviews before rushing to come here for open.
I can not believe the service at Riverbend medi centre. The front end lady “TARAH” was extremely rude and should not be working in a professional centre. I am extremely upset with how someone could be so careless and I can’t believe her actions. Please investigate further into her.
Warning for Dr. Akrinrinlola- Extremely disappointed in his lack of medical knowledge and careless attitude. He cares only about his own time, not patient welfare. I had a high fever for 5 days and a constant cough. He came in listened to my lung ONLY ONCE, arrogantly said it was bronchitis, and HURRIED me out. This happened all under 5 minutes. 2 days later, I felt worse so I went to a different clinic and the doctor there patiently listened to my lungs, immediately ordered a chest x-ray, which showed Dr. Akrinrinlola had completely MISDIAGNOSED me (my condition was far more severe). I'm concerned for the many other patients he has seen.
Physicians, nurses and the receptionists are always exceptionally professional especially on weekends. Whenever I come in with my daughter, the staff is so kind and genuine and wants to treats me with care. However, the problem with this clinic is the manager, Saurab. With my experience there, the management used to up standards with professionalism about a year ago. But now, with this new manager this clinic has been going down hill! I would suggest coming during the week nights and weekends as girls and Iktwas at the reception are always so kind and treat me with utmost respect.
