Medicentres Family Care Clinics

This clinic told me they wouldn’t give my son stitches on his knees or if I came in he would have to wait for hours and then the dr still may not give him stitches. Is this a thing now?

Dr. Peter attended to me when I was sick and I can say is one of the best so compassionate

Their walk-ins are always fully booked and if you call they will tell you that they only do walk-ins from 9-12am.

I went to this clinic as it says walk ins until 10pm, I was there at 1841 and turned away as I didn't have an appointment. This makes no sense and should be stipulated on their door and online. Their door sign says walk-in and no appointments necessary from 9 am to 10om. Don't waste your time!

Becky at reception is amazing, handling a busy clinic, patient intake and phones. She does all of this with a smile and professional attitude. The call back procedure for long waits is a big time saver. Highly recommend

This ISN'T a walk-in clinic. It's a normal family practice clinic that does walk-in for a couple hours a day. You'll often see that their open until 4/5 but upon arrival aren't accepting any walk-in patients. They don't put this info on their site which misleads people. Disgusting practice and morals.

These people don’t answer the phone. Not only that they are not reliable to leave a message. The only reason I go there is my family doctor works there. If he leaves I’ll never go back.

We came here at 7pm, no one in waiting room. Office says open until 10. Yet they aren’t taking any more walk in patients?

Open to 10pm tonight but the Doctor wasn't taking any walk-in patients after 3pm. Not a true Medicentre walk-in clinic. It's a family practice only pretending to be a walk-in clinic when they feel like it. Medicentres never used to be this way.

Very very disorganized and unreliable clinic. Went in for a walk-in and was told it would be a 30 minute wait. Happy to wait. 1 hour and 45 minutes pass of patiently waiting, went up to reception to ask how much longer it would be. Was told it would be another 1.5-2 hours. Then the receptionist asked if I could just come back tomorrow. Would have tried somewhere else if I was told in the beginning it would be a 3-4 hour wait. Zero respect of other people's times. One other time I was able to get in, I had multiple ladies come into my room asking if the doctor has been here already or check who was inside. There doesn't seem to be a system of any sort, most likely why they can't keep track of their own patients. Highly recommend going to a non-medicentre clinic.

Worst clinic and customer service ever. Checked the wait time it said accepting and closes at 10 pm, it took me 10 mins of cab to get there and the customer service just told me “I just updated the system and we are no longer accepting” just like that. Such a Waste of time.

I went here for a walk in as I'm having pain in my shoulder. Dr. Nowak asked few questions and told me I don't have any history of you and the last visit was 2yrs ago. Go back to your family doctor and have a bloodwork, goodbye! I was telling him I had a bloodwork done 4mos ago. Dr. Nowak, if you are overwork please go home. You are paid for by every visit of a patient my with taxes we pay thru govt. You have Netcare that can see results and definetly can give me a requisition for bloodwork if I need one, that is why youre are in a walkin clinic bec if i was able to get appt with my family doctor i did not go to your clinic. You are a terrible doctor!

My girlfriend came here with stomach pain and all the nurses and doctors were extremely condescending and rude. Dr Novak sounds like a piece of work from what she told me.was extremely useless and gave the complete wrong diagnosis. Quick wait times but that's probably cause no one wants to go there. After I went inside to ask them what happened they proceeded to call my girlfriend who was in the car crying asking her why I was inside and that they can't have random people coming into the clinic. Won't ever be coming back here even if I'm close to death

Might be a longer wait at times, but have gotten nothing but good medical care at this clinic unlike what I recently received at my old medical clinic. Dr. Karia is a thorough doctor that checks everything once you let him know what's ailing you

I have given this place too many chances. It calls itself a walk in clinic but every time I walk in, even though there is literally NO ONE in the waiting room I’m told the wait will be long (can’t tell me how long) because they are booked up. The last time I went in with what I assumed was an ear infection causing head ache dizziness (and there for nausea) and was told the doctor couldn’t see me because he was high risk…. Why do you work at a walk in medical clinic if you are high risk? ! The staff are fake and this place is the worst.

5 stars for my doctor minus 3 stars for the horrible phone system used to try and book an appointment. Please press 2-2-1, you press it and ‘you’ve entered an invalid number’. What? !? Other times the phone doesn’t even work, you just get user busy. Time to invest in a phone system that actually works and patients can book appointments in a timely manner. Fix it and I’ll remove this review.

All clinics in Calgary should come to Heritage Hill Clinic and learn human kindness at its best. From the time you enter being greeted by wonderful front line staff and just when you thought you got the best service, you meet amazing knowledgeable and kind physicians. Visited with the understanding that it was a walk in clinic, they told me there were no appointments available left that evening. We said we were happy to wait in the event we could be seen. The receptionist said this would not be possible but she could book us an appointment for 10am the next morning. We accepted the appointment, but the next day we arrived to the clinic being closed, no one there, and no answer when we tried to call.

This morning (March 6,2021) at 10: 37am I called this clinic (Heritage Hill, Calgary) and let them know I would like my mom to come in and see a doctor for a follow up after being in hospital, to get some prescriptions, and because she fell and is now walking stiffly. The person I talked to asked if my mom had a family doctor at this clinic. I said no and we would like to join and have a family doctor there. She said 4pm that day was available for an appointment and I said that would be fine.

We arrived at 4pm to be told the doctor had not arrived yet. We sat in the waiting area and one of the receptionists told us that they are not accepting any patients to join family practices, but the doctor would still see us. I thought that was better than nothing. Not good that who I spoke to on the phone lead us on to think they were accepting patients for family doctors, though.

They could not get a hold of the doctor so we waited and waited.

Another patient got upset when he saw some of the workers hugging each other/not maintaining 6 feet of space. He even got emotional (started to cry) because he said he hasn't been able to hug his mom in a year, and here were medical professionals not following precautions at a medical clinic. He walked out. Well, keep reading my story, cause I walked out too!

While we were waiting I did tell one of the receptionists that mom had fallen and so we would keep waiting for the doctor so he can check her over. She didn't say anything at that time. About an hour after we got there, and with no doctor in sight, that same receptionist asked if we would we like to book a virtual appointment for tomorrow morning and then they will be able to fax the prescription to the pharmacy. I said but we need to see the doctor about mom falling to make sure she's okay/no fractures. Now the other receptionist said that we need to go to Urgent Care for a fall / check for fractures. What the what? I had already called and told them about mom's fall at 10: 30 this morning and that's when they should have said it was something for Urgent Care! Talk about wasting time and putting my mom in more unnecessary jeopardy/risk! Talk about lack of attention to detail, lack of professionalism, lack of compassion, NO SHOW DOCTOR, and a whole lot of incompetence all around.

They tried to book us in for a virtual visit two days later. Are you kidding me after all your blunders? I said you said you would book it for tomorrow morning. She then said it would be tomorrow at 5: 40pm. I said forget it and me and mom WALKED OUT. The second patients to do so that evening. Terrible, terrible clinic. Save your time and save your health by avoiding this so-called medical clinic.

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Both the doctor and nurse took the time to explain everything in detail and made sure I had all my questions answered!

I just recieved a flu shot today. It was efficient but there are new screening questions. Temper- ature is taken, and all rooms are disinfected in between patients. The process is explained by the RN and a doctor will enter to double check. There are many appointments available and they can be made by phone.
Get your flu shot early! ER is not a safe place to hang out.

My husband went here today cause he had swollen shoulder and just wanted to tell the Dr if he could take a break from work, my husband work at the Freezer area and lift 40kg everyday, the Dr said he’s fine and just go back to work, The Dr doesn’t care!

I feel like this medi centre is the most dependable for mid-southwest Calgary. It’s open longer hours than most, including Sundays and most of the doctors are very pleasant and provide good care. The front desk staff are friendly and efficient. The wait times vary but that’s to be expected. A good place to go for something that needs to be dealt with that day but is not imminently urgent.

I like this place because is close to my place. But when wanna see the doctor waiting for more then 2 hours. Couldn't make appoitment if they not your family doctor. I'm asking for be my family doctor but they not accepting any patient anymore

Horrible experience. Took my girlfriend here after she got hit in the head at work quite hard. We waited 2 and half hours in a waiting room that had 3 people in it. There was one man who did a walk-in after us and was called before us. After we had been called we sat down in the examination room and waiting another 35~ minutes for the doctor to even see her. The lady at the front desk turned off the open sign at 7: 30 pm when they are supposed to be open until 10. If you can't be bothered to help patients after 7: 30 with 3 people in your waiting room you either need to close down your medicentre or hire more doctors because that was just an enormous waste of my time. Go to emergency with a minor injury and you'd recieve faster and better care.

I truly enjoyed my experience with the Heritage Hill Medi Center. They were very fast and efficient throughout the appointment! The staff were very friendly and had a great sense of humor! I will most definitely recommend this clinic to all my friends and family and co workers! Dr. Hui was fantastic when he gave me the flu shot. Didn't even know he gave me the shot and I was done! Awesome visit!

Wow! Not very convenient when they tell you you are not able to see a doctor @ 7: 30pm and they are supposedly open till 10. That is ridiculous. Being open that late on a Sunday is very convenient for many people and having only 1 doctor to see all the patients is not very helpful. Patients shouldn’t have to be the ones who suffer if one of the doctors left early.

Absolute best Medicentre in Calgary. The staff are SUPER friendly, Make you feel comfortable, Quick service. I would highly recommend this clinic to everyone

I went this in evening for a referral. Everyone was friendly, accommodating and patient in answering my questions. I highly recommend.

Hours online state they are open. Voicemail continuallynl indicates they are closed and you cannot speak to anyone.

I’ve been here over a dozen times in the last two months alone with multiple workers from the job site even for myself and I’ve got nothing but exceptional service. The ladies in this office are amazing. Thanks for everything

Dr Hussain misdiagnosed my kids broken arm.the secretaries park at the front door and have no manors they couldn't even hold the door open for my kid not once but twice.only reason I come here is its Sunday and nothing Els close is open.but I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Probably the worst clinic in existence. As others have said, the hours are meaningless. The hours on the sign say 10pm on Wednesday, there is a printed sign that says 8pm today “sorry for the inconvenience”, but then when I walked in they said they are closed.at 7: 24pm.with an empty waiting room. WHICH IS IT? !? !?

Does everyone who works there just want to go home early every single night? Adjust your hours accordingly! Stop wasting people’s time!

Went in yesterday (a Sunday) due a pharmacist recommendation because apparently I am unable to tell when I am ill. From the polite and helpful staff at the front, to the kind and humorous nurse who ushered me to the room (maybe 20 minutes?) and gently took my temperature, to the fantastic Dr. Martha Pepino explaining all that was wrong with my very sick self and quickly getting me on antibiotics, this was definition of a FIVE STAR experience. Thank you all.

It doesn't matter what time you arrive, the most people are on a waiting list and have to come again later.

How this Medicenter is open for business is beyond me. I had a repetitive stress injury in my knee from work and went here to receive treatment and start a WCB claim and had honestly the worst experience I've ever had in a medical office. The staff here is so incredibly unprofessional it's not even funny. I needed a WCB claim started for my knee and they didn't even get that started for me. The doctor that I had seen was the only one in that day and was openly vocal about how I was his last appointment for lunch. He didn't even touch my knee to assess or feel what was wrong with it. The diagnosis he gave me was completely Incorrect and he didn't give me any medication. I went to an actual doctor's office the next day and they told me that I had really severe bursitis and gave me medication to assist with relief of the symptoms. All and all I wasted almost 2 hours at this clinic for a doctor's appointment that was less then maybe 2 minutes. The doctor wrote me off work for a week which is completely wrong to be doing any workers compensation situation. If it's an emergency then go to the hospital if not I'll forward this place at all costs as you will not receive any form of quality Care from the staff here.
